<p>so blockbuster keeps posting these ads of certain movies like blind side and sherlock holmes among others</p><p> </p><p>

but blockbuster keeps saying netflix and redbox doesn't have these but today at a redbox i rented sherlock, and last week i rented blind side</p><p> </p><p>

but what I really wanted to ask was which company do you perfer?</p><p> </p><p>

personally redbox has been great, sure not a wonderful selection but cheap, easy to use, and close to mostly everywhere</p>

None of the above actually. Don't watch enough movies to rent these days. So when I do want to see something badly enough I typically just buy it off of Amazon.

But of the three choices, I'd most likely go with Netflix. I quit getting flicks at Blockbuster years ago because they couldn't be counted on to have anything that had any kind of age on it.

And I'm sorry. Redbox is a joke to me. If I want to leave the house to get a movie, I want there to be a store to go to. Not some stupid looking kiosk with a scattershot selection.

So I'll take Netflix. I've gotten to the point that even if I do see movies, I don't much like seeing them in the moment. Which means they are the most reliable choice if I'm going to be renting.

Netflix as I have a 360 and use the on demand netflix all the time (though mostly to get watch TV shows). Then when a new movie comes out (which tend not to go on demand for quite some time) I just put it on top of my que.

I'm a big netflix fan as a film buff who rents a lot of eclectic stuff. Plus they have a pretty decent selection of stuff on netflix instant. Really don't care at all about redbox and I hope Blockbuster and Hollywood video go out of business for being absolutely terrible.

Never tried Redbox (I'm like cappy... if I want to leave the house to get a movie, I'd rather go to a video store), most of the Blockbusters in Albuquerque are closed... So I use Netflix (movies via the 360 is pretty awesome).

Blockbuster use to be the sh**. Up until they started firing the awesome staff there. The Game Pass thing or Game Rush was awesome. Had a separate line, game tournaments. Which was awesome, but now I goto Family Video.

But that Redbox stuff is pretty packed every time I goto Walgreens or Wal-Mart.

Plus Blockbuster is in like major debt.

But if I ever got around to it. I might do Redbox. I thought about Netflix.

If you've got a 360/PS3/Wii/the internet/a special box, you can stream a lot of good stuff on Netflix for no charge instantly.

I really like Netflix.

I have their cheapest plan that gives me 1 DVD/BR Disc out at a time and unlimited instant streaming and all together I think it costs me $11 or 12 a month, which is pretty fair. (Without BluRay access, it's abut $9 a month total.)

<p>Just an FYI...</p><p> </p><p>

Movie Gallery/Hollywood Video/Game Zone/Game Crazy are all owned by the same entity. The company over them is now officially bankrupt, so a huge amount of those stores will be closed. Unless there is a super turn around in DVD rentals (doubtful at best), then the entire corporation should be extinct soon.</p><p> </p><p>

Another interesting tidibit...</p><p> </p><p>

Redbox was actually shopped around to Movie Gallery back a few years ago, but MG turned it down, thinking that customers wouldn't want to rent from a machine. Netflix and GameFly both disproved that, as did the success of Redbox.</p>

<p>If I had the cash, I would sign up for Netflix's 360 screening. We rock it at my friends house all the time, it's awesome.</p><p> </p><p>

I still have a soft spot for Blockbuster, it's nice to go to an actual store to make the decision.</p><p> </p><p>

I hate kiosk machines, their selection is always crap.</p>

Hate Blockbuster. Netflix is OK if you have the time to watch all the movies you rent. For now, I either buy (rarely) or rent from Redbox or whatever the machine is at the supermarket. It's close, it's $1. If it's only sporadically, Redbox may work out better.

<p>Netflix all the way.</p><p> </p><p>

With the myriad of options available, it fits my tastes better than Redbox or especially crappy Blockbuster. Wayne Huizenga dumped that company at just the right time.</p><p> </p><p>

One thing I love is having the 3-4 out at a time plan and just keeping one title until I get sick of watching it (I've had Equilibrium since November <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />). I tend to go with the DVD/Blu-Ray plan instead of instant or via console and the shipping center in Flushing is like a 20 minute subway ride from my house.</p>
