I am going with people that I like for the most part (well I was never a fan of Hogan but he made the business what it was in the 1980's). I would put more of the older guys on the list like Buddy Rogers. However, I never really got a chance to see them.

I originally thought about focusing on guys who were "draws", but that seemed boring and impersonal. So, I'm going to base my list purely on guys who have entertained me. I'm going to leave out the Japanese guys who might have made the list, simply because I don't feel like figuring out where they'd rank in relation to the others.

1. Chris Jericho--Loved him as a heel in WCW. His time as Cruiserweight champion, where he collected "trophies" from all of the opponents he defeated, was classic. He was a very good face after jumping to WWF, but he's always been at his best as a heel. Perfect combination of skills and charisma.

2. Bret Hart--In the post-Hogan era, it was The Hitman who kept me interested in wrestling. I loved him during his run as a top face in the WWF, though looking back, his brief time as a heel before going to WCW might have been the most interesting period of his career. WCW criminally misused him, especially with all the interest surrounding him after the screwjob. But that doesn't take away from my appreciation of what he did for the rest of the decade leading up to that ill-fated move.

3. Hulk Hogan--These days, I avoid the Hulkster at all costs. He's worn out his welcome in my eyes. But still, the fact is that I would probably not be visiting this forum had he not come along. Hogan is the one who drew me into wrestling as a kid, and he deserves this spot for that alone.

4. The Rock--Arguably the most charismatic man in wrestling history. His heel run in early 2003 might have been the most entertaining thing I've ever seen as a wrestling fan. I found myself wishing they would spend the entire 2 hours of Raw letting him do random backstage segments and play his guitar. Just awesome.

5. Kurt Angle--Tremendous combination of skills and charisma. His matches with Benoit (who would have been on this list, and high, pre-2007) were unforgettable.

6. Bryan Danielson--Without AmDrag's ROH matches, I might have given up on wrestling a few years ago. But, with him at the forefront, ROH was able to keep my interest going. I absolutely love watching him wrestle, and I hope he continues to rise in WWE.

7. CM Punk--Reminds me of Jericho in the sense that he is a true total package; in the ring, on the mic, Punker can do it all.

8. Steve Austin--I liked "Stone Cold" more pre-face turn, as I thought he had a more ruthless, bad ass feel to him. But he was great regardless.

9. Shawn Michaels--Was a huge fan of his in the mid-90's, and was in awe of the fact that he actually seemed to be better after he came back in 2002. He would've been higher on this list, but the DX revival in 2006 drove me away from WWE for like 2 years, and even now I'm still not as interested in it as I was before.

10. Nigel McGuinness--Loved watching him in ROH; his matches with Danielson were classic. Watching him get beat up by Abyss, not quite as fun.

11. Vader--He was an ENORMOUS bad ass in WCW in the early-mid 90's. I was always disappointed that he didn't get the same treatment in the WWF.

12. Samoa Joe--Based much more in his time in ROH than his time in TNA.

13. Rey Mysterio Jr--Strictly WCW-era Mysterio; none of the 619 garbage.

14. Ric Flair--Honestly, his current run in TNA knocks him way down my own personal list. He's just embarrassing himself. Still, he USED to be great.

15. Ricky Steamboat--One of the best technical wrestlers ever.

16. Rick Rude--Awesome, awesome heel. I liked his character so much that I used him in a wrestling e-fed like 12 years ago.

17. Mr. Perfect--How awesome were his vignettes? Also, loved the Perfect Plex.

18. Owen Hart--His feud with Bret was fantastic.

19. Randy Savage--I'm still not sure what to make of his promos, but I DID spend most of my time from ages 6-12 speaking in a pretty damn good impression of his voice, so obviously something stuck.

20. Sting--His later character might have been a pretty blatant Crow rip-off, but it was pure awesomeness every single time he came down from the rafters. I don't think I would have found the nWo nearly as interesting without Sting occasionally popping up out of nowhere and demolishing them. Shame they screwed up so badly at Starrcade.

Cool, a list!

1. Ric Flair - The Best combination of in ring work, drawing power, titles, memorable matches and longevity in the business.

2. Atsushi Onita - Went from being a washout junior heavyweight with a shot knee who did prison time to pretty much setting the stage for wrestling throughout the 90s both as a promoter and wrestler, nearly killing himself in the process. I think an Onita biography would be about the most interesting thing ever.

3. Andre the Giant - Huge star, set the stage for Hogan and Hulkamania and had pretty decent mainstream appeal. Everybody knew who Andre the Giant was.

4. Hulk Hogan - Probably deserves to be higher on the list. Pretty much the guy who brought wrestling into the mainstream and the modern era. Much like Onita's legacy, not entirely sure the results of his work have been entirely positive but it was fun while he was at the top.

5. Steve Austin - The face, voice and attitude of the attitude era. Great talker, great brawler and above average technical wrestler and a huge draw.

6. Terry Funk - Universally respected, great wrestler who was a bridge between traditional NWA style wrestling and the modern era through his work in Japanese garbage promotions and ECW.

7. Shinya Hashimoto - I knew I had to include a real puro guy in the top 10 and Shinya is someone who I think is largely overlooked because he isn't Kawada or Misawa but personally I think he's better than both. Maybe people just don't like fatties but nobody had more fire than Hashimoto. I really wish everyone would watch him before every match they ever have so we don't get any of these lame, half-hearted going through the motions and doing moves without any sense of hatred, anger or homicidal intent.

8. Ricky Steamboat - Best babyface ever.

9. Brazo De Plata - Yeah, this is more just a personal choice. Entertaining comedy worker but also had some memorable matches. Could move for a fatty, could brawl and could cry on command.

10. Mick Foley - Awesome talker, awesome brawler who unfortunately became more annoying and egotistical in his old age.

11. La Parka - A skeleton who dances and hits people with chairs. What's not to love?

12. Eddie Guerrero - So good in the ring, kept getting better with age and was always amusing.

13. Chris Jericho - One of the most funny and creative guys in the business and also very decent in the ring.

14. Shawn Michaels - Another guy who probably deserves to be higher on the list but yeah, he's awesome and now I am realizing how over-represented Texas is on my list.

15. Terry Gordy - A freaking wrestling prodigy. Gordy is pretty much an example of everything I love about 1980s southern wrestling.

16. Owen Hart - I always liked Owen more than Bret. Bret looked kind of uncomfortable and grumpy, Owen looked like he was having fun. Awesome in the ring, great talker, never failed to entertain me.

17. Dick Togo - The underrated asskicking fatboy punk rudo workhorse of lucharesu, was the backbone of Kaientai DX in their awesome mid 90s run and is still solid in the ring. I don't think I have ever seen him put in a bad performance in nearly two decades of wrestling.

18. The Destroyer - Going old school now, I am not a huge fan of wrestling from before my time which is why you won't see guys on my list included because of their reputation (Rikidozan/El Santo etc) but what I have seen of The Destroyer I loved.

19. Randy Savage - I never really liked Savage that much as a kid but he is one of those guys who grew on me. Very entertaining, great in the ring, colourful and absolutely nuts. Everything a wrestler should be in my opinion.

20. Chris Benoit - Eeeesh, yeah. I don't want to debate or get anything started on this but from a purely wrestling standpoint he deserves to be on the list.

My list is a mix of personal preference, importance to the industry, mic skills, and some other things. Workrate isn't extremely important to me, as evident by my top 4, but I like my wrestlers to be better than The Ultimate Warrior.

My time in wrestling was early 1998 through about 2002, and early 2009 through the present, and my list (mostly) reflects that.

1. Stone Cold Steve Austin

2. Sting

3. The Undertaker

4. The Rock

5. Kurt Angle

6. Ric Flair

7. Hulk Hogan

8. Chris Jericho

9. Shawn Michaels

10. Bret Hart

11. Rob Van Dam

13. Mick Foley

14. Nigel McGuinness/Desmond Wolfe

15. Triple H

16. Taz

17. Kane

18. Raven

19. CM Punk

20. Christopher Daniels

Remember that this is all IMO, so nobody should start any arguments about this! <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

1. Eddie Guerrero: He is my all time favorite wrestler. He pulled out fantastic matches almost every single night. He was the reason for me watching WCW, and for me watching WWE in 2004 and 2005.

2. Andre The Giant: He is the first ever "giant" pro wrestler who could actually put on a good match. Sure, towards the end of his career he was limited with what he could do in the ring, but during the first half of his career he was an amazing wrestler who could put even most of today's wrestlers to shame. Plus, he had an amazing undefeated streak, as he wasn't defeated until WrestleMania III.

3. Hulk Hogan: If Hulk Hogan never became a wrestler, then I wouldn't have become a wrestling fan. The reason that he isn't number 1 on my list is because he wasn't even the best wrestler in my eyes, he just used to be one of my favorites as a child. I saw him cutting a promo one day when I walked into the room, and I became enthralled in pro wrestling.

4. Kurt Angle: He is the technical wrestler to end all technical wrestlers. He was charismatic, he could talk on the mic, and not once in his career has he put on a bad match. He makes everything that he does in the ring look not only realistic and tough, but just awesome.

5. Shawn Michaels: He is the first ever cruiserweight to become an absolute superstar in pro wrestling in America. He paved the way for all other cruiserweights.

6. Stone Cold Steve Austin: He was part of the immortal "Stone Cold vs. Vince McMahon" fued, which ranks up there in my top 3 favorite fueds of all time (the other two being Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant and Eddie Guerrero vs. JBL). He was the one who made the attitude era what it was.

7. The Rock: He might just be the most charismatic superstar to ever be a pro wrestler. Every single last one of his promos and one liners were classics, but the reason that he is number 7 and not ranked higher is because of how soon he left the business.

8. The Undertaker: The Undertaker is the most dedicated person to the wrestling business. He is somebody all the rookies look up to. He was given what was essientially a horrible gimmick, and turned it into one of the best gimmicks of all time. Not to mention the fact that he is still a very good in ring worker even though he might be getting close to retirement. Plus, he has had more memorable WrestleMania moments than Hulk Hogan!

9. Sting: He has always played his gimmick to perfection, and honestly his character reminds me of a superhero. He has had so many different version of himself (the original Sting, Wolfpac Sting, Crow Sting ect.), yet each version is still the same character but with a slightly different style, just like many comic book or tv show super heroes.

10. Vader: Vader could brawl with anybody and yet could make his opponents look good, even when they were the ones getting defeated. Plus, he was/is really agile for such a big wrestler.

11. Mick Foley He is one of the most entertaining oddball characters of pro wrestling, in and out of the ring. He is also a fantastic writer, and he is one of the reasons that I am a smark, because after reading his book I wanted to know more about what happens backstage. As a matter of fact, you could say that without him, I wouldn't have even found out about Mr. Ryland's great TEW game series or these forums.

12. Jushin Thunder Liger: He might just be the best super junior style wrestler to ever live. Enough said.

13. AJ Styles: He is the name and face of TNA. Without his wrestling ability and dedication to pro wrestling, TNA probably never would've gotten to where they are today.

14. Petey Williams: I've always been a mark for Petey Williams. He is an excellent cruiserweight style competitor, and cruiserweight wrestling is my favorite style of wrestling. Plus the Canadian Destroyer is IMO the best finisher in pro wrestling ever.

15. Samoa Joe: While in my eyes his current TNA run has been way less than stellar, when he was in ROH he would put on classic matches almost every night, regardless of who his competitor was. He also hit almost every single one of his moves with an intense rage.

16. Christopher Daniels: He is one of the people who have made TNA what they are today IMO. It is a shame that he was released.

17. John Cena: I don't really understand why anybody online hates him. He is a solid in ring worker, is entertaining and is the current name and face of the WWE and will almost certainly be a legend. I'm not exactly a fan of him, but I don't hate him either. No matter what John Cena was destined to be a superstar, and I could tell that from the first day that I saw him in the WWE.

18. Brock Lesnar: I always marked out when he hit the F-5, as I think that that is the 2nd best finisher ever, but he didn't really stay in the business long enough to become a true legend. I'm sure that he would've had he stayed longer. Plus, he was a heavyweight who had excellent in ring ability and actually decent technical skills!

19. Goldberg: He simply demolished his opponents in the ring while he was in WCW. While he didn't really have the skills to put on a wrestling classic, he could convince you that he really was injuring and demolishing his opponents.

20. Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan: He had an excellent run in ROH, putting on great matches, but he still has a long way to go to be ranked up higher on my list. I'm almost certain that in a few years he will be in my top 5.
