What's Going on in YOUR Game?

Recommended Posts

started a game with XCC having zero idea what to do, just wanted to try the demo out. I got hooked, decided to buy and have played up to 2003. XCC is now the number 3 promotion under GAMMA and ALPHA. I'll post the 2003 awards once I get there but here are my current champions:

XCC Womens Bantamweight: Karen Curtis

XCC Featherweight: Li-Kong Ho

XCCC Womens Featherweight: Natassia Potocnik

XCC Lightweight: Fiyero Lermontov

XCC Welterweight: Manuel Silva

XCC Middleweight: Matthew Dean

XCC Light Heavyweight: Curt Kitson

XCC Heavyweight: Gladstone Lopes

Kitson's really annoying me because his title defenses have gotten some pretty bad ratings. Someone needs to knock him out soon.

Is Li-Kong Ho still undefeated?

Update. I'm into July 1999. On end of the year awards I picked up show of the year (SIGMA 3: Medtner vs Halle), Rise of the year (Josuke Hino), Fight & Main Event of the year (Medtner vs Halle, still the best match in the game so far) and a Sub of the year (Basora RNC vs Gleeson).

I reached High Level National, and I just got a TV Deal. Decided to start SIGMA Young Guns, that I will use to put on cards including the younger guys that arent at the top but have future imo. I started FW and LW GP and finals will happen there.

And the winner of each GP will get to fight the champ at NYE card. FW GP Finals are Gunnerson vs Marazzina and LW GP Finals are Nouri vs O'Breen.

I am also getting all the stars :D I got like 5 people in Top 10 P4P list, and recently got Matthiew Dean (#1 P4P) who's going to debut in my next show (SIGMA 16).

Here's an update on my champs:

FW Champ: Tomohiro Takeuchi (I made him debut in LW. He won and dropped to FW. I wanted him in the FW GP but wasn't ready in time so I put him against Bohlin. He won, and now I will give him Maeno, then the winner of GP. And I hope Kong Ho gets past Nunes and maybe some other dude coz I'm gonna try to make this fight, maybe on a PPV.)

LW Champ: Luis Basora (Havn't fought since NYE Card where he beaten Gleeson. I have set him up against Brandon Sugar on my next card.)

WW Champ: Noach Van Der Chapellen (That man is a machine. Knocked out Rossi, Halle and Hirano so far, and I'm probably gonna set him up against Webb.)

MW Champ: Fernando Amaro (Damn, dude is tough. Finished Kanchaleskis and Derkal. I'm setting him up against Grygera next.)

LHW Champ: Nicolai Mickiewicz (Really shocked me. Dominated Shik Lim giving him his first loss, and then went on to win a Decision against Le Toussier to win the belt. Might put him against Checkov or Van Der Moot next.)

HW Champ: Gunnar Nilson (Dude is an animal. Beaten Archer and Ya Konan and now I'm setting him up against Carter Porter)

Nice to hear your progress with SIGMA (always nice seeing how other peoples games differ to mine), but how have you got to High Level National so quickly? Without a TV deal and having only run a maximum of 15 shows (based on what you said your next show is). Playing as SIGMA myself I dont see how it is possible.

Oops sorry, my mistake. I'm high level regional. Damn I need to grow so I can go outside of Germany, and get some PPV's.

BTW Halle and Medtner have burned the house down once again. Maybe FOTY and another Fantastic Fight. There NEEDS to be a rubber match !

And Brandon Sugar just KO'd Basora after losing first two rounds. Dayum.

Finally, the first show with no Decisions :D And I almost reached 3000 people in attendance. Woop Woop.

In my first GAMMA diary card all the fights ended in TKO. I thought that was pretty cool.

Phew, thought I was doing something really wrong if you made national that quick. And exploring Europe is overrated, despite turning national at the start of 99 I am only just about to run my first show outside of Germany (probably feb/march 2000)

You should be close to a ppv deal, keep asking Euronet (I got a deal with them at high level regional I think). Might have to try out Halle vs Medtner, they aren't doing anything much so might as well try it.

I laughed when I saw that Mickiewicz is your LHW champ, I have got lucky a few times by having him be beat when it looked like he would grind out a decision win, he is really good at doing that.

And interesting you are building up Ho ready for the ppv. IIRC he headlined my first ppv winning the FW belt (although I hadn't built him up, that was his first fight for me)

>Brown attempts to lock on a triangle choke.

>The triangle is locked in deep, Monroe is in a world of trouble!

>Monroe lifts Brown up while in the triangle...and uses a brutal powerbomb-type move!

>The powerbomb doesn't break the choke, and Brown may even have sunk it deeper as a result...and Monroe has to tap!

>Bill 'The Marine' Brown takes the win by submission!

Now that is cool.

<p>What I loved about WMMA2 was creating my own promotion, so the first thing I did when having bought WMMA3 was creating Holmgang Fight Promotions. Holmgang is an ancient term for one on one duel used by (at least) the norwegian vikings to settle disputes, where a crowd would create a ringand then the two would fight, I have heard accounts of both fist fights and fights to the death, but all I know is that they were badass <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Thus the rules are just as badass. 1x10 min + 3x5 for normal bouts. And 1x10+5x5 for title fights.</p><p> </p><p>

Everything is legal, the referee will separate if inactive and there are no ten counts.</p><p> </p><p>

I went around signing free agents from all the european countries which took a while, found some excellent talent, but I also had to go to Asia and America to get some of the best unsigned fighters available.</p><p> </p><p>

I currently have seven weight divisions.</p><p> </p><p>

Feantamweight, which is a combination of feather and bantamweights.</p><p>

Women's division, all women fight here.</p><p>

and the normal Lightweight through heavyweight.</p><p> </p><p>

I have currently held 17 events and is almost ranked mid level regional.</p><p> </p><p>

My current champions are</p><p> </p><p>

Feantamweight: Hans Christian Bloch (6-0) #15 Featherweight. </p><p>

Has stopped his last three bouts via TKO on the ground.</p><p>

He trains out of the Wale Wrestling Camp which I created, it is probably one of the top 5 gyms out there in terms of training and more and more Europeans are taking notice.</p><p> </p><p>

Women's division: Trish Biel (4-0) #7 P4P #3 Bantamweight</p><p>

Has stopped both her fights in Holmgang with her ground and pound.</p><p> </p><p>

Lightweight: Vacant. There will be a tournament soon to decide who will hold the strap.</p><p> </p><p>

Welterweight: Filip Kristov (5-0) #24 Welterweight </p><p>

A scary Judofighter from Bulgaria who has stopped all, but one of his fights with armbars.</p><p> </p><p>

Middleweight: Leonardo De Costa (16-7) #15 Midleweight</p><p>

Lost his first bout in the division at Holmgang 5 against Tora Mizwar, but then he won his next fight in Holmgang 10 qualifying him for an the inogural eight man tournament for the strap, where he beat Dennis Gallagher, Bill Brown and Heath Kaladaris. All in one night to become the first Middleweight champion.</p><p>

A rematch between Tora and Leonardo will be held at Holmgang 20</p><p> </p><p>

Light Heavyweight: William Harrison (5-0)</p><p>

Beat Adrian Swall to qualify for a title bout, and then manhandled Adrian Pascall to become the first Holmgang LHW champion, is just returning to action after sustaining a groin injury (I like to think of it as a broken penis).</p><p> </p><p>

Heavyweight: Christopher Sharp (37-12) #7 heavyweight</p><p>

His three fights in Holmgang has lasted a combined lenght of nine minutes (keep in mind that bouts are 1x10minutes+3x5minutes, 1x10+5x5 for title bouts) and he has stopped top competition. He recently beat Khru Duangjan when defending his belt.</p>

So addicted to this game right now. Played around with some of the real world mods that are available already, but keep going back to the default data. I started with GAMMA again and went through most of the first year. Ran one PPV per month, each headlined by a title defense.

Some happenings:

  • Every title had been defended once, and all by the WW defended twice.
  • On the very first show (which I forgot to name), Foster lost to Boyer. On his first defense, Boyer lost to Hughes (used the Dynamite Goes Boom event name again). Hughes defends against McCall soon... Interested to see if he can actually successfully defend.
  • The only other title change was Spencer Rubenstein losing the LHW title to Mike Watson. That was a surprise to me, as I figured it was a relative "gimme" defense. Not sure if that should count as an upset or if I just under-estimated Watson.
  • After losing to Boyer, Foster rebounded by losing to Norbert Vinkus. I was tempted to give him Chris Sharp or Datuk Ong Ka Ting, but he's getting the "challenge" of Frank Sheedy instead. If Foster can't manage that, I think he's gone. Last I checked, he was ranked the #21 HW within GAMMA... Quite a fall, Foster...
  • Started up a Featherweight division. Stars so far have been Heiko Pander and the promising guy who's dad was a boxer (name escapes me). I've managed to sign a few ranked guys of late, but they haven't fared so well - they lost to Nuno Valentino and Tim Oldacres respectively, in what were supposed to be relatively easy wins for them.
  • The aforementioned "my dad was a famous boxer" FW somhow jumped up to Low Level National popularity after two undercard wins over cans. Not sure what he starts at, but that seems like a quick rise. According to the analysis screen, he can main event shows already.
  • I've used the "can" approach quite liberally. I have 2-4 guys in every division who are on losing streaks and who's only role is to lose. Most lack the talent to be at a regional promotion, let alone a national one. I mostly use them for developing prospects. The approach works pretty well, at least for developing guys. It can also backfire, as I've had a few upsets. Aaron McBroom has lost twice to guys who were "gimme wins".

Final Quarter-Final event is coming up, with the Heavyweights going at it. So far, Royal Martial Arts League is become a huge success at the moment, picking up some very popular fighters, building up some big fights, and always getting well rated shows. Fighters are getting severely more popular by the fight. Going to make a dynasty out of this eventually.

God I love this game.

Just had my first card with a title defense on it, after determing my first champions.

- 'No Surrender' Glenn Pimm vs. 'Major Damage' William Harrison

- From player-controlled event 'WAR 10' (from the save game 'WAR')

- Created 16 December 2010

>It's time for the main event of the evening! 'No Surrender' Glenn Pimm goes head to head with 'Major Damage' William Harrison in the WAR Light Heavyweight division.

>The WAR Light Heavyweight title is on the line.

>Round one begins!

>Harrison slips out of the way of a jab.

>There's a takedown attempt from Harrison.

>Pimm cannot stop the takedown, and only catches Harrison in half guard.

>Harrison begins trying to get his leg free of the half guard.

>Advancing his position with ease, he mounts Pimm.

>Harrison attempts an armbar.

>Pimm gets caught by the armbar, and it's deep enough that he has to tap!

>The winner, by submission, is 'Major Damage' William Harrison!

>Official Result: 'Major Damage' William Harrison defeats 'No Surrender' Glenn Pimm (Submission (Armbar) in 2:01 of round 1). The match was rated as being Great.

Yea, I pretty much threw him the successful defense. Really gotta love the "No Surrender" nickname he's got, and then he gets subbed without any sort of resistance. It was my first fight card of the year, after finishing my first year. I am a created company I made myself. WAR doesn't stand for anything, it's just called WAR.

For anyone interested, here is my whole card,

I hired him early on in XCC 1999 but after like 3 fights he starting asking for ridiculous payments for his next 2 fights.

I signed him as GAMMA for my lightweight division, and Lamont Banner is a total beast! The world class boxing background has given him first round TKO victories over Ian Linderman, Aaron McBroom, and Nicholas Bretton already-- and all of them won Fight of the Night (kinda irks me that FOTN is always just the highest rated fight, even if it was a 20 second 1st round KO)! He has 1 more guaranteed match on his contract and I'm worried about what he might want to resign (since over half of my roster's contracts came up at the end of 1999).

I've expanded my weight divisions to include two Women's divisions, (the same ones used by WEFF.)

So, I have a total of 6 weight divisions. My current champions are as follows -

WAR Heavyweight Champion: Christopher 'The Knife' Sharp

WAR Light Heavyweight Champion: Jericho Stewart

WAR Middleweight Champion: Dwayne 'The Pain' Alleyne

WAR Welterweight Champion: 'Blazin' Callum Henson

WAR Women Heavyweight Champion: Yutsuko Sasaki

WAR Women Lightweight: Sayoko Ebisawa

I'm wondering, should I expand to more divisions, and add the Lightweight weight class for men? Or should I just focus on building up the six that I have?

I just finished the January 1999 show with GAMMA.

  • Matthew Dean won Fighter of the Year. He went 3-0, with wins over Stuart Strange, Petey Mack, and JJ Reid. 1999 could be a tough year for Dean, as Napier, Darling, Benn, and Ballard are all positioned as strong contenders. Plus I just signed Joaquin Fontes....
  • Raul Hughes defended Tony McCall to actually defend the HW title, a first in my game. He's getting Leon Banks next.
  • After winning the LHW title from Rubenstein, Watson defended it against Marlon John with a KO in a minute and a half. Not sure who he gets next. Probably Ballard... but I've sigend Asanovic, Mickiwicz, and Chekhov, so the division got deep in a hurry.
  • Just like the slide that Foster had after losing the HW title, Spencer Rubenstein isn't doing so well. I gave him a fight against Ganaha and he lost a decision. He's barely in my top 25 HLWs at this point...
  • KDM FC was in financial trouble so I took them over. I have so far resisted the strong urge to steal away Sukarno or Li-Kong Ho. Did take Atep, just cuz his deal came up and I figured ALPHA might grab him. Morrison has been dominant at LW for me, so I figure after he gets one or two more wins to clean out the division, I'll bring in Sukarno for the epic super fight. Ho will come in once the FW division is a bit strong.
  • Speaking of the FW division, its become a weird mix of outside guys with good records and skill but who don't have much popularity in the US and the prospects who have fought a few times and have that name value, but not as much skill. Pander is the FW champion and has defended it once. But I don't know that he'll be able to hang onto it past guys like Khan, Gaffigan, Afshar, and Eigenberg.
  • Nuno Valentino, who isn't really a can but isn't that rounded either, has now taken two upset wins over top ten ranked FWs who were debuting - Togo and Makamori.
  • I messed around with adding a Bantamweight division as well, but the Blurcat rankings won't recognize it so I left off the idea.
  • I'm a bit concerned with the growing contract sizes, but money is still pouring in.
  • Only real frustration so far is that I have yet to get a TV deal. Would love one to feature some of the prospects, but I keep getting rejected.
