UJW: The Future Is Now!

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/TheFutureisNow.jpg

We let a prize winner pick the name of this show…so no, we don’t understand it either. Surely the present is now and the future is yet to happen? What happens after the show, when UJW: The Future Is Now! becomes the past? Will the future become the past? Head…hurting……

Look, it will be a cracking show, so leave the wife at home watching soaps and come watch UK wrestling at it’s best!

Non Title Match The Landlord vs Christopher Lister

With his win last month, it seemed fair that Christopher Lister should have the next title shot. The Landlord would only agree to a non title match – a sign of fear perhaps? Can Lister win here and earn a title shot?

The Genocide Agents vs Landlord Properties Inc.

The lingering issues over the missing January rent payment continue. The Agents say it’s paid, Bantom and Ripper are looking to collect. With the announcement of the tag tournament beginning in July, could this match be our first look at the future UJW tag champions?

Hugh de Aske vs Eric Future

We saw Future debut last month, rescuing Nigel Svensson from an irate de Aske, a move that enraged the whining Belgian. Will de Aske get revenge or can Future debut with a big win?

Nigel Svensson vs Trance

With ambitions of a UJW UK title shot, ‘The Swedish Shooter’ is looking to tear through the roster to prove he is worthy of facing The Landlord. Can Trance, 3-0 himself, stop Svensson and maybe push on for a title shot?

“The Welsh Warrior” Ian Davies vs ‘Judo’ Glen Ward

Smarting from last month’s defeat, Davies asked us for a match with a skilled submission expert, to prepare for a rematch with Don Henderson. ‘Judo’ Glen Ward accepted the challenge. Will Davies beat Ward on route to a third match with Henderson or will Ward kickstart his UJW career?

Don Henderson vs Martin Heath

Both men requested a match, so it seemed right to match them up. Is experience better than youth?

Dark Match – Mr Evilness vs Bali Daljit

Can Bali get that elusive first win? Or will Mr Evilness be too…evil for the youngster?

The Landlord vs Christopher Lister

Hoping that the non-title nature of this match is a red herring

The Genocide Agents vs Landlord Properties Inc.

Possibly with the aid of the Boss

Hugh de Aske vs Eric Future

He may whine like Tintin on acid but he is still quite good

Nigel Svensson vs Trance

Don't rate trance at all

“The Welsh Warrior” Ian Davies vs ‘Judo’ Glen Ward

Gone against my gut here, but just got an inkling

Don Henderson vs Martin Heath

Don just too good

The Landlord vs Christopher Lister

I don't know about this, but betting on the boss seems like a safe bet.

The Genocide Agents vs Landlord Properties Inc.

They have team experience.

Hugh de Aske vs Eric Future

Hugh de Aske has been losing a lot recently, but he's more talented then Future.

Nigel Svensson vs Trance

Trance isn't bad, but Svensson has been more involved in storylines and whatnot.

“The Welsh Warrior” Ian Davies vs ‘Judo’ Glen Ward

The angry man seems like a guy who loses a lot.

Don Henderson vs Martin Heath

Bigger Deal

Dark Match – Mr Evilness vs Bali Daljit

Jobber

Non Title Match The Landlord vs Christopher Lister

Best usage for this kind of match is to set up a new long-term challenger

The Genocide Agents vs Landlord Properties Inc.

Could go either way, but I prefer the agents

Hugh de Aske vs Eric Future

Future has a lot of potential, but that's really all he has. De Aske has a lot more quality at the start

Nigel Svensson vs Trance

I don't remember if Trance is the good Party Animal or the bad one, but either way he's not up to Nigel's quality

“The Welsh Warrior” Ian Davies vs ‘Judo’ Glen Ward

Davies is a pretty good worker, Glen Ward can be very difficult backstage

Don Henderson vs Martin Heath

I have real fondness for Sharp & Heath but they do need a lot of work early on, whereas Don's pretty good from the off

UJW: The Future Is Now live report by Dan Davies (Sat Week 3 May 2010 18:35PM)

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/TheFutureisNow.jpg

Another month, another UJW show. This one is a medium sized event like the previous month, but two hours in length! Does this mean we will see some improvements?

Dark Match- Bali Daljit vs Mr Evilness

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/BaliDaljit.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/MrEvilness.jpg

Daljit opens with a quick salvo of dropkicks, but Mr Evilness (barely) evades the fourth one and goes to work. Sloppy bodyslam followed by an unconvincing backbreaker submission for Evilness. Daljit escapes, but his attempt at a cross body is turned into a dodgy Evil Slam (front powerslam) for the victory.

Winner – Mr Evilness @ 5.33 (Evil Slam)

Verdict? – An extremely poor match. Mr Evilness looked terrible in there. E-

Main Show

Randy Garcia, Beast Bantom and Ripper Le Stat come out to hype their match later tonight against The Genocide Agents.

“Agents, take this as your warning. Beast Bantom and Ripper Le Stat mean business and will resolve the rental problem - with violence! Write me a cheque now Genocide and I’ll ask Beast and Ripper not to hurt you. Too badly…"

Verdict? – Typical Garcia promo, decent content, average delivery. E

Don Henderson vs Martin Heath

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/DonHenderson.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/MartinHeath.jpg

Henderson outwrestles the youngster to start, but is surprised by a wild right hand from Heath. Heath then takes the assault to Henderson with a big neckbreaker for 2. Seeing the opportunity for an upset, Heath tries to set up a fist drop from the ropes, but Henderson manages to trip Heath with a drop toe hold, then clamp in the Scottish Deathlock for the submission win.

Winner – Don Henderson @ 4.01 (Scottish Deathlock)

Verdict? – Considering the length of the match, this grade could have been worse. Solid enough four minutes. E+

Bethany Hurst comes to the ring with Nigel Svensson for a few words before his match with Trance.

“After I spoke out last week regarding Nigel wanting a shot at the title, lots of UJW fans have told me they agree – they want to see Nigel earn his title shot. Nigel is happy to do this, starting tonight with Trance. I’ll give you credit Trance, you’re on a roll but that ends tonight.”

Nigel Svensson vs Trance

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/NigelSvensson.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/Trance_alt1.jpg

Odd start here as Trance attempts to build speed by running the ropes, only for Svensson to disregard him and move to a shoot wrestling stance. Tie up leads to a Svensson headlock. Headlock takedown, then a long body scissor spot. Trance eventually escapes with an eye rake and responds with a weak spin kick. 1 – 2, Svensson out. Trance gets a head of steam and launches himself into the Trance Effect tornado DDT. Svensson slips out and applies the Hyper Extension Armlock! Trance taps straight away!

Winner – Nigel Svensson @ 6.07 (Hyper Extension Armlock)

Verdict? – A bad match. Complete clash of styles. E-

Don Henderson reluctantly heads on to the ramp to talk about Ian Davies.

“Davies…I get it. You want to prove that you’ve still got it, that you can still hang at the top. Truth is, you never could. You ran from 21CW when the going got tough and you’ll run from UJW too. Like all drug addicts, you haven’t the will to bounce back from setbacks”

Verdict? – Don’s not much of a talker but his arguments seem logical. Not sure where the ‘drug addict’ line comes in though E+

Randy Garcia is out with The Landlord to hype the match with Christopher Lister.

“Enjoy it while you can Lister, this is the closest you will ever get to the top. This man next to me is the champion for a reason – he is the toughest in the UK! I hope your little geek meeting has wheelchair access because you may need it…”

Verdict? – Garcia’s delivery just doesn’t inspire me to be interested in the main event. E-

Ian Davies is out next for his match. Before Glen Ward is introduced, Davies asks for a mic…

“I’ve lost respect for you tonight Henderson…cheating to win is one thing, but to throw my past problems at me, in an attempt to dishearten me?” I won’t let you! Whatever happened, happened. I’m only looking forward, starting with Glen Ward tonight!”

Verdict? – Interesting promo. Again Davies isn’t a great talker, but I’m curious as to where this is going. E+

“The Welsh Warrior” Ian Davies vs ‘Judo’ Glen Ward

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/RedDragon_alt.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/GlenWard.jpg

Davies is fired up for this; he batters Ward with an array of punches before flooring the judo expert with a dropkick. Pin gets 2. Ward is then able to turn things around with a thrust kick and a hammerlock. Ward is moving slowly here and killing the early momentum of this match; a snapmare/seated kick spot seems to take ten minutes to pass. Thankfully Davies comes back soon after with a Russian legsweep. The Moonsault and the 3 count follows.

Winner – “The Welsh Warrior” Ian Davies @ 8.30 (Moonsault)

Verdict? – I thought Ward dragged Davies down here; a shame as Davies has shown a lot of fire recently E

Hugh de Aske vs Eric Future

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/HughdeAske.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/EricFuture.jpg

After the usual shouting match with the audience over his pirate status (about 3 minutes worth), de Aske enters the ring and immediately falls prey to some haphazard arm drags from Future. Hurricanrana from Future and de Aske bails. To argue with the audience. For 2 more minutes...

Stalling over, de Aske slides back in and goes on the offence with chops. Future counters an Irish whip and attempts a dropkick, de Aske avoid by hanging onto the ropes. de Aske with a series of poor kicks before getting 2 with a jawbreaker. De Aske sets up the Skull and Cross Bones (Cross Armbreaker) but Future rolls out! Enziguri!!! Future is looking for the Time Slice (Springboard Cutter) but…Mr Evilness comes to ring side? Future doesn’t see him, Evilness yanks the middle rope, which causes Future to slip…straight into a Cut Throat Driver! 1-2-3!

Winner – Hugh de Aske @ 12.44 (Cut Throat Driver, via interference)

Verdict? – Too sloppy and too much stalling for my liking. Crowd were really into both men though. E+

Mr Evilness joins the celebrating de Aske in the ring. de Aske demands a mic…

“I’ve had enough!!! I’m not a pirate!!! It’s always been the same – ‘Hugh’s a pirate, shiver me timbers!!!’ My friends hacked my profile! Well, not everyone is laughing at me! My friend Mr Evilness knows how I feel! People see an eyepatch and that’s it! ‘Oh look, an eyepatch – where’s your parrot?’ I wear an eyepatch for health reasons! I suffer acute conjunctivitis, the sweat from dirty wrestlers makes it worse….Mr Evilness is blind in one eye so wears a patch– ‘Oh, no he’s a pirate!’

“Well we’ve had enough, haven’t we Evie?”

“Yes, Hughie, dees people not understand that we no stinky pirates…we eeevvvviiillll!”

“Er, yes that’s right! Well a little birdie mentioned a tag title tourney…so we’re gonna enter…say hello to the first ever UJW tag team champs…The Non-Pirates of Evil!!!”

Verdict? – That went as well as a promo by Belgian 'non pirate' and a face painted Italian with broken English could expect to go E

Genocide Agents vs Landlord Properties Inc

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/GenocideAgent.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/SuicideAgent.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/BeastBantom.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/RipperLeStat.jpg

Straight up brawl to start this one! Both teams on the floor and into the crowd. I have no idea what’s going on for the first 5 minutes. A quick trip to the bar serves two goals 1 – beer, 2 – better view. I see that the teams are taking it in turns to whip each other into the cloakroom doors. Crowd chanting D-A-V-E! for that!

Back to my seat and back in the ring – Bantom drags Genocide into the ring, getting a 2 count from a powerslam. A Beast Bear Hug is broken up by a Suicide Agent dropkick to the back. Ripper runs in to be greeted by a double back drop to the floor. Genocidal Suicide (combination spinebuster/clothesline) on Bantom! 1 – 2 no, Landlord drags Genocide out to the floor! DDT on the floor!

Suicide is caught by a Sire’s Lament (Chokeslam into a backbreaker) by a returning Ripper – 1, 2, 3, no Suicide just out at maybe 2 and three quarters? Bantom and Ripper take it in turns to beat down Suicide until Ripper misses a corner charge. Hot tag to Genocide, Hanging powerslam 1, 2, 2 and a half! Bantom runs in to get a cheap shot on Genocide, but Suicide is there with a clothesline! Bantom to the floor, Suicide turns into Ripper’s Bloodlust hold! Genocide with a clothesline! Genocidal Suicide! 1 – 2 – 3!

Winner - Genocide Agents = Suicide over Le Stat @ 17.41 (Genocidal Suicide)

Verdict? – The crowd were hot and the in ring action was surprisingly decent too. A nice surprise. D-

Christopher Lister makes his way to the ring for his title match…

“A sci – fi convention and a title shot in one summer – why not? Sounds like a hell of a summer to me! We know this is a non title match for a reason – to stop me beating The Landlord. Fair enough, I’ll take that as a compliment. Then, when I beat you tonight Landlord, I’ll take a step closer to my title match.”

Verdict? – Decent promo, Lister is a good talker so good to see him get some mic time. D-

Non Title Match Christopher Lister vs The Landlord

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/ChristopherLister.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/TheLandlord.jpg w/ http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/RandyGarcia.jpg

Landlord stalls to start, clearly fearing his quicker opponent. A tie up sees Landlord overpower Lister into the corner, but Lister avoids the big right hand and answers with jabs and chops. Landlord reverses a whip to the other corner, but eats turnbuckle on a charge. Lister crossbody! 1, 2, no 2 and a bit! Landlord decides to bail to speak with Randy Garcia on the outside.

This leads to a Lister plancha on to both men! Landlord is thrown in to the ring quickly, Lister attempts the Dimension Jump but Landlord scoops his legs as Lister jumps, slamming Lister on his back, like a modified powerbomb. Landlord goes on offence looking to finish this quickly. A DDT gets 2, as does a knee lift. Lister looks to be in trouble, but manages to scoot out of an Eviction attempt, putting some distance between himself and Landlord with a desperation dropkick.

Landlord, breathing heavily, is first up, but Lister beats him to the punch, firing bombs at the now panting champion. Back elbow from Lister staggers The Landlord, school boy roll up! 1,2, no, 2 is the count, Landlord misses with a right and Lister (just about) gets the small package for the 2 count. As Randy Garcia distracts Ref Bailey, Landlord goes for a low kick. Lister catches his foot…and a golf club to the back of the head! Puffy just stares down at his mortal enemy and then bails to higher ground. Landlord drags Lister into a dreadful looking Eviction, Garcia stops pulling Ref Bailey’s lapels and the official is able to count 3.

Winner – The Landlord @ 18.17 (Eviction, via interference)

Verdict? – Crowd were quite into this, despite the lack of chemistry. As I said last month, Lister needs to wrestle similar wrestlers to really shine. Landlord was knackered after ten minutes of this match, which really affected his performance E+

Post match, Bantom and Ripper Le Stat run out to help Landlord inflict more damage. As the three men are taking it in turns to kick the dazed Lister, Keith Adams and Pigeon Mask run out for the save! (E).

This leads to a massive brawl between Adams and a heavily sweating Landlord, with most of the roster coming out to try and break it up. (E-)

Post Show – Keith Adams vs Puffy

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/KeithAdams.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/Puffy.jpg w/ http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/MarkMoore.jpg

Another match?!? Lots of stalling for this inpromtu contest. I spent most of it texting the missus, apologising for staying out so late (Short version of events – I’m now going clothes shopping with her tomorrow instead of watching football. Cheers UJW). I look up after giving up my weekend to see, Adams nails Puffy with a Right To Remain Silent (Big Reverse DDT) for the win.

Winner – Keith Adams @ 7.42 (Right To Remain Silent)

Verdict? – The (remaining) crowd were into this – sloppy as hell though. Again, I enjoyed Mark Moore’s input at ringside. E

Overall – Same grade as usual – a lesser show than previously though as the main event was weak. This show was far too long, really dragging in some places E+

Far, far too long a show :o

Predictions

Portlius - 5/7

Midnightnick - 4/7

Tiberious 4 - 7/7

1PWfan - 6/7

Jingo - 4/7

Boltinho - 5/7

Congrats to Tiberious4, who gets to pick a tag team. I've used the 'Worldmarket' code, so you can pick anyone from the game world. Bear in mind they need to be under 35 though as it's one of my owner goals (and I've already angered The Landlord by hiring Keith Adams and Pigeon Mask :) )

Also, thanks for the DOTM Rookie nomination and votes guys, much appreciated.

#6 23:15PM Sunday Week 4 May 2010

Will ROF stay at the top? Or can 21CW topple them?

British Independent Show – Monday Week 1 May 2010 Crescent Crown Pub (Ireland)

Shockingly good show from the indie scene…maybe there are good wrestlers outside the big UK companies? Highlight was the Pigeon Mask/Keith Adams ‘dream team’ beating Chuck Frisby and Ryan Death (E+) Att 44 Grade E+

ROF Civil War – Wednesday Week 2 May 2010 Norman Blue Athletic Center (Midlands)

Pretty much a two match show. British Samurai’s win over Walter Morgan © supported an excellent Merle O’Curle title defence against Billy Robinson (B-). Att 258 Grade C+

MOSC High Stakes - Thursday Week 2 May 2010 Phoenix Nights (North)

A return to form for MOSC. Like ROF, this was a two match show with Danny Patterson vs Thug (C-, Patterson won) and Harley O’Neil defeating Bruiser to defend the title (C-). Two good matches sure, but that combination is getting a little old… Att 298 Grade D+

HIW Battle Pack - Scheduled for Wednesday Week 3 May 2010

No show Grade N/A

UJW: The Future is Now - Friday Week 3 May 2010 Phoenix Nights (North)

On a par with the Independent effort, this show dragged and only had three decent segments (promos from Christopher Lister and Bethany Hurst, Genocide Agents/Landlord Properties match, all D-) A shame really as I was hoping UJW could get out of their E+ rut Att 107 Grade E+

21CW Partners In Crime - Saturday Week 3 May Middlesborough Hall (North)

A good effort, but as with the ROF and MOSC cards, a two match show. The matches in question were Kevin Jones and Edward Cornell defeating The Ivanoff Brothers (C-) and Joss Thompson and Jonathan Faust beating Pitbull Brown and the excellent Stevie Stoat (C+). Att 2,000 sell out, PPV 0.05 Grade C

Best show – ROF Civil War = C+

Best Match – Merle O’Curle vs Billy Robinson (ROF) = B-

ROF is starting to run away with this now, will 21CW ever catch them?

Until next month,

Dan Davies.

I get to pick a tag team? Awesome. Pigeon Mask Signing? Even more awesome.

Does it have to be a per-existing team? Because Inky the Squid Boy and El Serpiente (He debuts 1st of June I think) would make an awesome high flying intercontinental tag team. You could call them the aquatic avengers; ready made feud with the evil not-pirates :p

If you don't want to go with that here's a list of actual teams I wouldn't mind seeing:

Daniel Cano and Javier Cano

Cool masks and I've never seen them used in a diary before, but they don't speak English.

Some Combination of Swarm I, II, or III

The Swarm Guys have awesome masks and speak passable English. There haven't been very many Mexican fed diaries so would also be interesting to see them.

Alyx Macquarie and Cole Taylor

I like Australia and I'd probably have a few ZEN teams on here if they weren't all so darn loyal.

The Spirit Riders

Okay so they're not great in ring and they don't speak English, but their gimmicks are pretty cool.

Beetle Kimura and Panda Mask

I like a good fun wacky team. Not sure if they'll really fit in with your promotion though.

Doesn't have to be actual tag team at all mate. There are some great suggestions there too.

It's gonna be an 8 team tourney and I only have 5 teams at the moment. I'll definately try and hire Inky and El Serpiente, owner goals permitting. That leaves 2 spots so some of the teams you mentioned may show up!

UJW Crown Duels

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/CrownDuels.jpg

Because we love the Queen and fighting, we decided what better to celebrate these great things than with a wrestling event?

UJW UK Title Match The Landlord vs Suicide Agent

By pinning Ripper Le Stat last month at The Future Is Now, Suicide Agent became the No.1 contender again. The Landlord took the match on one condition however – if he wins, Genocide Agent has to leave his flat, sans deposit. Will Suicide Agent become UJW UK Champion? Or will it just be another Eviction for The Landlord?

Genocide Agent vs Don Henderson

A match made between two of the big names of UJW, the winner of this can surely consider themselves worthy of a title match. Can Genocide Agent escape the distractions of his rental issues? Has Henderson finished with Ian Davies?

Ripper Le Stat vs Nigel Svensson

With Svensson pushing for a title shot against The Landlord, we decided that he needed a tougher test – and they don’t come any tougher than Ripper Le Stat! Can Svensson upset the odds and take another step towards a title shot?

Independent Dream Team vs Non Pirates of Evil

Tag team competition as the team that dominated the independent UK wrestling scene, Keith Adams and Pigeon Mask, take on the new team of Non Pirates of Evil. Can Adams and Pigeon Mask keep their streak alive or will de Aske and Mr Evilness score the win in a most unpirate like manner?

Christopher Lister and “The Welsh Warrior” Ian Davies vs Puffy The Sand Iron Player and ‘Judo’ Glen Ward

A combination of differences here. Puffy and Lister have had their problems since Lister won their wager, while Davies defeated Ward last month at The Future Is Now. Can Puffy and Ward get revenge or will Lister and Davies earn the victory?

Dark Match – Beast Bantom vs Martin Heath

After an spirited but unsuccessful showing against Don Henderson last month, Heath asked for another match to show what he can do. With the Beast at a loose end we made the match. Can Heath score the win this time or will he just be another victim of the 6’8” 320lbs monster?

Predictions welcome as usual. This month, the prize is to help me name some tag team finishers for the following teams;

Independent Dream Team (Keith Adams and Pigeon Mask)

Non-Pirates of Evil (Hugh de Aske and Mr Evilness)

Landlord Properties Inc. (Ripper Le Stat and Beast Bantom)

Oh, and 3,000+ views? Thanks to all who have read this!

UJW UK Title Match

The Landlord vs Suicide Agent

Sorry S.A. I just can’t see you as the champ right now.

Genocide Agent vs Don Henderson

Shenanigans are of course very possible. But Don is clearly the more skilled

Ripper Le Stat vs Nigel Svensson

Just seems that Ripper is a better fit for your product than Nigel. I know this directly counters my comment for the match above.

Independent Dream Team vs Non Pirates of Evil

Sorry Hugh and Evilness. You two are clearly pirates and therefore silly. Pigeon Mask is awesome.

Christopher Lister and “The Welsh Warrior” Ian Davies vs Puffy The Sand Iron Player and ‘Judo’ Glen Ward

Can’t see further than Ian Davies here.

Dark Match – Beast Bantom vs Martin Heath

Clear win for the Beast here. Heath is a career jobber

UJW UK Title Match The Landlord vs Suicide Agent

I can't see Suicide Agent taking the title, especially with the tag tournament coming up.

Genocide Agent vs Don Henderson

I think Henderson will probably win, but I'm picking Genocide Agent because I don't want all my predictions to be the same as Boltinho's.

Ripper Le Stat vs Nigel Svensson

I think you have bigger plans for Ripper than for him just to be a stepping stone. I could see a feud between these two, but I expect Ripper to take the first match at least.

Independent Dream Team vs Non Pirates of Evil

Pigeon Mask needs to build up momentum for his eventual title match with the Landlord. :p

Christopher Lister and “The Welsh Warrior” Ian Davies vs Puffy The Sand Iron Player and ‘Judo’ Glen Ward

I see Puffy and Ward as midcard "jobbers to the stars" while Lister and Davies are real title contenders.

Dark Match – Beast Bantom vs Martin Heath

The Beast must feed.

UJW Crown Duels live report by Dan Davies (Saturday Week 1 June 2010 22:25PM)

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/CrownDuels.jpg

Half way point for UJW in 2010, will this show rate above E+? 83 of us in attendance tonight, on a warm June evening.

Dark Match– Beast Bantom vs Martin Heath

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/BeastBantom.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/MartinHeath.jpg

Bantom takes control of this one immediately and starts toying with the hapless Heath. Heath eventually manages to land a few kicks, but Bantom shrugs them off and lands a huge choke slam for the easy win.

Winner – Beast Bantom @ 4.39 (Choke Slam)

Verdict? - Squash. Nothing to see here. E

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/RandyGarcia.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/TheLandlord.jpg

Randy Garcia and The Landlord come on to the stage to hype Landlord vs Suicide Agent.

“It’s touching that you would stick up for Genocide Agent. I’m sure he will find it touching when he is sleeping on the streets. Prepare for Eviction!”

Verdict? – Garcia just doesn’t inspire me to hate The Landlord. Content is fine, but his delivery is too dry E

Independent Dream Team vs Non Pirates Of Evil

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/PigeonMask.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/KeithAdams.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/HughdeAske.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/MrEvilness.jpg

Finally, the Independent Dream Team gets to wrestle in a UK promotion! Keith Adams starts with Mr Evilness and proceeds to out wrestle the lumbering Italian. Tag to Pigeon Mask sees our first near fall, a flying clothesline for a 2 count. However a botched clothesline spot sees Mr Evilness tag out to de Aske. Pigeon Mask holds his own until Mr Evilness intervenes with a kick to the back.

From there, we get a long beatdown, with de Aske and Evilness focusing on Pigeon Mask’s back. Eventually, ‘The Winged Rat’ escapes an Evil Slam, dodges an out-of-position Evilness and makes the hot tag. A chaotic brawl ensures, ending when de Aske is dumped to the floor and Evilness falls victim to IDT’s un-named tag finishing move, a Right To Remain Silent reverse DDT (Adams)/Winged Rat Splash (Pigeon Mask) combo.

Winner – Independent Dream Team @ 11.26 (Tag Finisher on Mr Evilness)

Verdict? – Not the greatest debut for Adams and Pigeon Mask. To be fair, not all their matches will have Mr Evilness dragging them down E

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/HughdeAske.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/MrEvilness.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/KeithAdams.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/PigeonMask.jpg

de Aske is furious with the loss! He drags Adams outside the ring! Evilness spins Pigeon Mask around and executes an Evil Slam!

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/EricFuture.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/PeteyBarnes.jpg

Before the Non-Pirates can do anymore damage, Eric Future and Petey Barnes race in to the ring! Stereo dropkicks to Mr Evilness! The Non-Pirates regroup outside the ring, before deciding to cut their losses and head to the back.

Verdict? – Not the best debut for a newcomer (Barnes) E-

Ian Davies grabs the mic on the way down to the ring for his match.

“Henderson! I’ve given this a lot of thought – maybe you were right. In the past, I’ve been weak. I’ve let addiction pin me and lack of confidence submit me. No more though! I plan to prove I’m not that man anymore – in a match against you at UJW Fun In The Sun, next month!”

Verdict? – I like Davies and his character, but these promos are fairly weak. Again, it’s a lack of conviction E

Christopher Lister and “The Welsh Warrior” Ian Davies vs Puffy The Sand Iron Player and ‘Judo’ Glen Ward

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/ChristopherLister.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/RedDragon_alt.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/Puffy.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/GlenWard.jpg w/http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/MarkMoore.jpg

Davies and Puffy start here and the match falls apart straight away. Mark Moore takes his charges outside to discuss tactics. If by tactics you mean screaming “think of the green blazer!” at Puffy.

Lister and Ward tag in as we restart and the action picks up a little bit. Leapfrog by Lister leads to a school boy roll up, but Ward is able to kick out on 2. The inevitable free for all kicks off, with Davies struggling to keep up with the action. Puffy grabs his golf club and swings at Lister, Ref Bailey grabs the club mid swing, allowing Lister to set up the Dimension Jump and get the 3.

Winner - Christopher Lister and “The Welsh Warrior” Ian Davies @ 7.41 (Dimension Jump on Puffy)

Verdict? – Davies wasn’t his usual reliable self here and the match suffered. Moore did his usual good work at ring side – he was the star of the match in my opinion. E

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/BethanyHurst_alt2-1.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/NigelSvensson.jpg

Bethany Hurst comes through the curtain with Nigel Svensson, mic in hand.

“Nigel defeated the 3-0 Trance last month and I managed to get him a match with Ripper Le Stat. If we are to get to The Landlord then we will need to get his attention. Beating Ripper Le Stat should achieve this.”

Verdict? – Not as good as the past two shows as it covered familiar ground E+

Ripper Le Stat vs Nigel Svensson

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/RipperLeStat.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/NigelSvensson.jpg whttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/BethanyHurst_alt2-1.jpg/

After an exchange of words both men go for each other, with Ripper coming away with the advantage. Eye rake and a bodyslam gets 2. Svensson fights back with European uppercuts, staggering the bigger man. However, a belly to belly suplex attempt is broken up with a headbutt. Ripper looks to sink in the Bloodlust, but Svensson manages to twist the vampire’s arm into a standing kimura! Ripper struggles, but Svensson uses his momentum to drop to the canvas and twist Ripper’s arm behind his back! Ripper taps!

Winner – Nigel Svensson @ 6.36 (Kimura)

Verdict? - A lacklustre match. Neither man is a good fit for each other and it showed. Both men are getting over with the crowd so every cloud and all that E

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/NigelSvensson.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/BethanyHurst_alt2-1.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/BeastBantom.jpg

As Svensson celebrates in the ring with Bethany, Beast Bantom charges down the aisle. Svensson realises what’s coming, but gets smashed into next week by a violent Savage Charge. The monster glares at Bethany, but Ref Bailey drags her out of the ring before Bantom can consider attacking her.

Verdict? – Decent angle to continue this story. D-

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/DonHenderson.jpghttp://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/ColinThorpe.jpg

Don Henderson comes to the ring for his match, stretching in the corner. Announcer Colin Thorpe thrusts the mic in his face looking for some comments regarding his contest with Genocide Agent.

“Look, I have nothing to say Thorpe, p—s off.”

Thorpe glares at Henderson, who shrugs.

“Fine, you want gossip? Genocide Agent is tough and these idiot fans love him, but that doesn’t win matches. Dedication and skill wins matches. That’s why Ian Davies doesn't wrestle on TV any more. That’s why I am heading for the top of UJW.”

With that, Henderson pushes Thorpe’s hand away and goes back to his stretching.

Verdict? – Henderson isn’t much of a talker, but at least he gets his point across. E+

Genocide Agent vs Don Henderson

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/DonHenderson.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/GenocideAgent.jpg

Henderson tries to keep the pace slow to start with, but Genocide Agent responds with several quick clotheslines, forcing Henderson to bail to the outside to re-group. Even on the outside Henderson can’t catch a break; Genocide follows him out and proceeds to pummel the Scot pillar to post. Once back in the ring, Genocide keeps the pressure on with a nice back drop for 2.

Eventually a chop block manages to buy Henderson some space, space that allows Henderson to begin working Genocide’s left knee. A kneebreaker leads to a figure four leglock, but Genocide makes the ropes. Henderson keeps the bigger man grounded with another chop block, but a second attempt at the figure four leglock is countered into a small package! 1 – 2 – no, out at 2 and a half! This fires Genocide up – Henderson can’t hurt him with chops and kicks and gets flattened with a big shoulder check!

Genocide Agent is building towards his Hanging Powerslam – a sequence that involves a big clothesline and a surprisingly good back to belly suplex for 2. Genocide Agent signals for the end and hoists Henderson up for his finisher, however his knee gives out allowing Henderson to drop down. Raking Genocide Agent’s eyes as he does! With Genocide Agent blinded, Henderson volleys the facepainted brawler in the injured left knee, then hooks in the Scottish Deathlock for the tainted win.

Winner – Don Henderson@18.18 (Scottish Deathlock via cheating)

Verdict? – One of UJW’s better matches thanks to a good crowd and decent in ring action D-

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/SuicideAgent.jpg

Suicide Agent comes out for his match with The Landlord, looking fired up.

“This isn’t just for the title and my pride anymore, this is about my friend’s wellbeing. There’s a Full Nelson Slam being held on deposit and it’s time you collected!”

“And Genocide? There’s a great curry house round the corner from your flat. Hopefully your knee will hold up as I've booked a table for three – me, you and the UJW UK Title!”

Verdict? - A decent promo, Suicide definately got the crowd behind him D-

UJW UK Title Match The Landlord vs Suicide Agent

http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/TheLandlord.jpg w/http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/RandyGarcia.jpg V http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t495/Occasional_Z/SuicideAgent.jpg

The bell rings and both men charge out their corners with right hands and kicks. It’s hard to see who has the advantage; a Landlord knee lift attempt is met with a clothesline, while a Suicide Agent diving tackle is evaded by The Landlord. Randy Garcia tries to aid The Landlord, but Suicide Agent greets him with a right hook, ending the solicitor’s involvement in the match.

This seems to start the panic for Landlord Properties Inc though, as Ripper Le Stat, favouring his left arm, runs to ringside. Suicide Agent is distracted by the vampire’s presence and The Landlord capitalises with a head butt. Backbreaker gets 2 for a heavily breathing Landlord, DDT gets 2 and three quarters. With Ref Bailey shouting at The Landlord, Ripper Le Stat glides on to the ring apron and begins to choke Suicide Agent! The crowd roar – Genocide Agent is limping out to help his partner! He drags Ripper off the apron and slams his weakened arm into the ring post!

Ref Bailey throws Genocide Agent out, as Landlord tries to take advantage of the injured Suicide Agent. Eviction attempt countered into a back drop! Suicide signals for the Full Nelson Slam! Landlord hauls himself to his feet, gets taken down with a clothesline. Spinebuster! Suicide sets up the Full Nelson slam, wait there’s Ripper! Le Stat trips Suicide as he lifts The Landlord, causing the champion to fall on top of Suicide Agent! 1 – 2 – 3!

Winner – The Landlord @ 11.25 (Le Stat interference)

Verdict? – Crowd loved this match, but I wasn’t so impressed. Suicide Agent seemed off his game and The Landlord was knackered after five minutes (as usual!). A good effort though D-

Overall Grade – I can’t give higher than E+, as there just wasn’t enough quality on the show. Sure the last two matches were good for UJW standards, but as usual, the lower/mid card is weak. For the record, I’d only put March into Madness ahead of this show in terms of quality. E+

IDT - Poop Assault (Adams used to be a cop, PM plays a pigeon), which is Mask hitting a swanton bomb on an opponent after Adam hits a Hercules Neckbreaker.

NPoE - We're Not Pirates!, which is a double superkick

LPI - Evicted! , which is when Beast Bantom powerbombs someone onto a table set up by Ripper Le Stat.

Good ideas here - I kinda based Adams and Pigeon Mask's finisher off your idea, using their finishers.

No double superkick for the Non-Pirates though - I'd need Mr Evilness to be able to execute a standard kick first :)
