theasylum
<p>So I finally decided to try to use storylines to get workers over, had one that lasted for months, had multiple events/threads, ended around 90 heat, yet when it was over, nothing changed for either guy.</p><p> </p><p> Edit: They both ended the storyline without "doing bad" (fairly poor, etc.) and had a positive outlook for both workers.</p><p> </p><p> What is the point of storylines? Jaysin
Were you looking at their momentum? They'll receive either a boost or a reduction in momentum right literally after you hit the end storyline button.
mrwhippy
Momentum changes massively. On the 1988 mod I had all my main eventers have 100 momentum after some epic storylines which all came to a conlusion after WrestleMania V.

The storyline itself doesn't even have to have kick ass ratings from my experience. I've had workers gain great momentum after ending a storyline that was in the C- to B+ range because they came out looking Very Good, Great or Fantastic.</p>

plannine
I have a wrestler with 90 consistency getting the note "worker was penalized for inconsistency" note in pretty much every single match he's in. Is there anything else that goes into that? Am I missing something?

proxiehunter
maybe his age he could be in decline I have a worker in age decline and when that's what the penalty is for it specifies that his age decline is the cause. I would assume a low consistency score on the part of the worker.

BuddyGarner
<p>A few notes:</p><p> </p><p> Comedy Match performance depends mostly on comedy gimmick rating. I know this because Ben Williams can do comedy bouts and has no charisma.</p><p> </p><p> Sex Appeal and Comedy bouts can remove the penalty for being hated on by the crowd.</p><p> </p><p> Call in ring bonus shows up as having good psychology in dirt sheet.</p><p> </p><p> I'm not sure what the requirements are for dominate but the one guy who can do it in my fed has B- charisma. The other guys who may be around B- charisma only lose 1 point of pop for dominating jobbers rather than 2 so it could be somewhere above B- charisma to dominate but I'm not sure due to fog of war.</p><p> </p><p> Ability to work the crowd requires psychology. Not sure how much charisma etc. is needed but know you can't get the bonus without psych. Know it can work in first two matches.</p><p> </p><p> Not sure what the requirements are for keep strong and protect working because worker doesn't always get the bonus in dirt sheet.</p><p> </p><p> And chemistry(overwhelmed by manager) doesn't always mean a destiny thing as I've had people who get once in a whole but on the whole mostly get helped by the manager. Or perhaps the penalty is an intermittent thing on the whole.</p><p> </p><p> Match rating can get a bonus for announcer chemistry even if untelevised.</p><p> </p><p> To get a bonus for managers in angles need to be rated on entertainment type skills. Off screen angles don't get dinged for substance abuse.</p>
CQI13
The overwhelmed by manager note I've gotten with Andre Jones & Charlie Thatcher - when Jones attacked Freddie Datsun post match. Could it be because Thatcher should be the one in that angle (given his menance)? I know I've seen it between women managers overshadowing the guy, but this particular instance could be due to other attributes...
Newman
A great post, thanks for this, before I read this I used to protect the loser of every match and keep winners strong, so was taking hits on my matches every time. Giel M
Can someone let me know what it means when a segmant is penalized for Title Prestige? All your titles have a "prestige" rating that you can view in your title screen. Now, normally, any match is gonna get a boost from being for a title. But if your match is MUCH better than the prestige of the title the crowd is gonna go "Aww man. These guys are SOOHH awesome, why are they fighting for this two-bit belt?" and it's actually going to detract a bit from the match. You can avoid most of it by making sure people aren't fighting over a title that is below them. Normally, your main eventers shouldn't be fighting for your midcard or tag titles, frex. You can avoid a lot of it by boosting a title's prestige. Making sure it's defended often does this. Making sure people generally have good matches for it does this. (Even as it might lead to the note you got, and thus ding the match a little bit, it's good in the long term.) Some events, such as vacating a title, or having it sit around active but unassigned, have pretty strong negative effects, so try to avoid those... It's sometimes inevitable though... A newly-created Main Event level title will only have a prestige of 70. So, if the match you have to crown the inaugural champion has all the makings of a classic it'll always get dinged for this. It's quite a small penalty, and it'll help the belt in the long run, but it'll be there. As was said earlier in this thread: The creator of the game has said, and all experienced players know, that you CANNOT realisticaly play this game in a way that eliminates ALL penalties all the time... The Swanton825
"If the highest psychology in the match, at a certain point in calculations, is less than 90% of the current grade." Could someone translate this into idiot for me?
Teh_Showtime
Could someone translate this into idiot for me? A raw match grade is calculated, before penalties and bonuses (momentum, gimmick, experience, etc). Their psychology has to be higher than that level. For instance you can have a 100 rated match with a maximum 90 psychology because the match rating might be 90 before bonuses and penalties and thus the match comes out well above the psychology rating when factoring in momentum and the like. Essentially it's a way to say the two guys in the match weren't seasoned enough to really make the match amazing. They have raw talent that can get match grades, but they don't have the psychology to get the most out of it.
