Former Allies Grudge Match: Dan DaLay vs Sean Deeley Looks like Deeley's main beef is with either Chandler or Garcia, DaLay is just the "third guy" in the storyline, so the main protagonist should win here.

CGC Canadian Title Match: John McClean vs Christian Price Eddie Chandler costing McClean

Last Man Standing Match for the World Title: Alex DeColt vs Poison © Based purely on what I'm watching in the shows, I'm really tempted to vote Alex, but a 1-month title reign would be kind of anti-climatic for Poison's push. Just the smark in me talking.

Who will win? The Almighty Zeus Soothsayer's prophecy will be fulfilled!

Who will be the Final Four? Almighty Zeus, Jack DeColt, Soothsayer, Pow Wow (hey, all good battle royals should have a "dark horse" in the final 4!)

What about Almighty Zeus? He joined Soothsayer two months ago

and we still know next-to-nothing about how the magic potion effects

him. Certainly doesn’t have the same effect that it has on Joey Poison.

A man in a purple half-dinosaur, half-kangaroo costume rampages down the ramp and into the ring, which is filled with tall grass for some reason. Security can’t get it out!

CHRISTIAN PRICE appears on the ramp, wearing a fetching red baseball cap. He throws a ball under the ring, and out pops a midget dressed as a yellow electric rat.The rat-thing tries to fight the monster, but gets booted in the face. Price throws more balls under the ring, and out pop more midgets dressed as wacky critters. They swarm the bigger monster, but to no avail.

The monster leaves the ring and charges towards Price, who shrugs and european uppercuts its head off. Candy falls out of the costume, which the pocket-sized monsters throw into the crowd, because... you know... whatever.

Price tries to grapple with the veteran, but is completely out of his element. McClean twists him, turns him, grappling rings around the rookie. Price powers free and answers with thunderous european uppercuts. Simple. Effective. Unstoppable. Setting aside their friendship for the moment, Price and McClean go all out for victory. Neckbreaker! Stud Stopper (Twisting Snap Powerslam)! Face Wash! Running Euro! Christian goes for the Price Check (TKO) but McClean slips out the back and applies a complicated roll-up. 1... 2... 3!

Davis Ditterich “Poison ended Alex’s 18 month reign, but will his own reign be short lived thanks to the new information Alex got from Faith?”

Alex targets the weak spot above Poison's right collarbone, but it’s only a matter of time before Poison starts taking him apart with deadly right hands and takes the fight outside and into the crowd. Poison hits harder, but Alex uses the environment to his advantage. He goes for DeColt Driver (Straightjacket Drop) but gets decapitated by a Ripcord Lariat and lands hard on the concrete floor. 1...2...3...4...5... Alex is up, but Poison ragdolls him around with unnatural ease into whatever hard surfaces he can find. Walls. Floors. Doors. Sound equipment. Poison tries to shove him off of a raised seating area, but Alex fights back and backdrops Poison down through a merchandise table. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...

Poison rises and Alex struggles to keep the monster at bay. Slams onto the concrete are shrugged off. Chair shots only stun him for mere moments. Unfazed, unfeeling, Poison takes him apart and lays him out with a sickening chair shot. Busted wide open, Alex keeps getting up. A flicker of emotion flashes across Poison's blank face. Frustration? Fear?

Davis Ditterich “We’re 16 minutes into the match? Is the theory right? Is the potion wearing off?”

The potion has worn off. He’s JOEY POISON again. His eyes alive and clear and terrified, he tries to desperately cheap-shot Alex, who unleashes pinpoint counterpunches, targeting pressure points for maximum damage. Powerslam! Snap Driving Elbow! Tower Collapse Superplex! 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8... Joey’s getting up! Alex signals for the DeColt Driver.

FAITH hits Alex with a low blow, and hands Joey another vial of potion. He drinks deep. Body wracked with pain, Joey drops to his knees and thrashes around on the ground, unleashing a guttural scream then... Silence. Stillness. POISON rises once more.

Alex relentlessly assaults Poison's weak-spot, making up for lack of quality with pure quantity- Poison Mist! Alex is blind. Ripcord Lariat! 1...2...3...4...5...6... Alex is up, Poison hurls him into the corner and starts stomping him in the head over and over and over. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7... Alex starts to get up, but Poison resumes the assault. Over and over and over and over. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8... Alex is up! More stomps. Over and over and over and over and over! 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10!

Wearing a long flowing pink ball-gown, complete with blonde wig and full make-up, EDDIE CHANDLER rides majestically to the ring on a parade float shaped like a rainbow. He blows kisses to the crowd, and heads directly into the center of the ring, awaiting the reactions from the other participants. There isn’t one. They’re all too busy fighting to survive to notice him. Eddie Chandler throws an epic hissy fit, before Sean Deeley deadlifts him up and German Suplexes him over the top rope (Elimination 12: Eddie Chandler). Jack suddenly explodes out of the corner with a flying punch to Zeus’ face, and again hoists Soothsayer onto his shoulders. Zeus tries to save the masked mystery, but Trent of all people grabs his legs to prevent it (Elimination 13: Soothsayer) Furious, the God of the Future grabs McClean by the throat and eliminates him (Elimination 14: John McClean).

Jack batters Gargantuan with right hands, but eats an unreal clothesline. Price is immediately on him with uppercuts. He too takes a clothesline! Deeley pounces, forcing the genetically engineered fighting machine against the ropes. Jack and Christian rush to help. Even Trent slithers out of his corner to tip Gargantuan over the top and out to the floor. (Elimination 15: Gargantuan) The exhausted men retreat to separate corners, surrounding Almighty Zeus. With a sick smile, Zeus summons- BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Lightning bolts hit all four ringposts, knocking each of his opponents down. He grabs Deeley by the throat and hurls him out (Elimination 16: Sean Deeley).

That was a fiddly show. Lot of angles. Lot of formatting. Three really good matches though, with only the one disappointment (thanks a bunch, March) so overall I’m totally happy with that. Deeley/DaLay got fight of the night, narrowly beating the Rumble. I should probably punish them for overshadowing the main event.

To answer the less obvious LMS Rumble questions... No one beat Jack's record of 5 eliminations, but Almighty Zeus tied it, getting the most eliminations in the process. He and Jack will share the record from now on. Almighty Zeus lasted the longest (approx 28 minutes) while Vin Tanner went out fastest (less than a minute).

Stopping in to express my praise of this, my favourite diary to read.

Can only figure Deeley to be the challenger to Poison, he's just taken out DaLay and Chandler in the same evening, and is above the Tag Title picture. Plus all his submission tactics and iron man status can help him reach the 16 minute mark and tackle that troublesome collar bone.

That or a DeColt masked can always succeed.

Doing main events without the DeColts in the title picture can work just fine in CGC. If I can pull off an almost A match between Thrill Seeker and Nate Johnson over the CGC world title I think Self will be just fine without the DeColts challenging for the time being. :j

The DeColt quickly isolate Soothsayer with classic double team maneuvers, albeit with a lot of role switching. Alex confuses with high-intensity offense. Jack baffles with precision counterpunches. Ricky tries to go berserk with right hands and shoulder tackles, but Soothsayer telegraphs it with a Seated Face Plant! The youngest DeColt is isolated. Poison takes him apart with right hands. Almighty Zeus rapidly alternates between brutal strikes and powerful slams and flashy submissions. Soothsayer stops any and all comebacks with a seemingly supernatural ability to predict Ricky's actions. Finally, Ricky is able to crawl through Poison's legs and make the tag!

Jack DeColt goes berserk on Zeus with right hands and shoulder tackles, while Alex delivers pinpoint counterpunches to Poison's weakspot. DeColt Fusion II (Flapjack/Bulldog)! DeColt Fusion IV (Magic Killer)! The DeColts are in control! Jack lays out Zeus with the Wild Ride (Reverse Death Valley Driver)! Ricky goes for the same move, but Soothsayer flips out of it. Gargantuan steps over the top rope into the ring, face to face with Poison. Unfazed by the looming giant, the CGC World Champion stares at him with cold, dead eyes.

Damn, Deeley. What did I tell you about overshadowing main events? Punk kid.

Really happy with the response to Last Man Standing. Glad the ending got people talking. I learn so much from those little chats. What characters are getting over. What characters aren’t as clearly defined as I’d like. I think I’ve stumbled a bit with John McClean, taking for granted that I’m booking his as a babyface, forgetting his traditional SWF role and not working hard enough to get him over properly. It’s not as though I color code my babyfaces and heels.

This is such an awesome diary. I loves the write-up for the Rumble, I loved the angles... I did feel that Christian Price's intro didn't sparkle as much as previous skits have, though. Of course it's silly, that's Price's thing! Don't mock him for it.

Sometimes those things come easy. Sometimes I curse the day I came up with the gimmick, and have the words "Christian Price's ridiculous thing" in the script right up until the day before posting.

Five matches for your next show? Did you manage to expand your TV timeslot? Not that I'm complaining. I can't have enough of this.
