Christian Price (14) vs Ricky DeColt (15)

- This is a case of heart over head, because in a black and white fed like CGC, the most obvious storyline would be Ricky winning and Bach being banished. I'd rather see Christian Sharp-as-a-Spoon Price with the 3 wishes because that would be a very fun storyline, and feel fresh.

Alex DeColt (7) vs Gargantuan (9)

- I don't think Alex gets banished, so let's give the half-DeColt a win over his sorta-brother.

Bobby Thomas (7) vs Stevie Grayson (6)

- Shock win (not really) for Grayson! Putting Bobby on edge and maybe sending in one of his brothers to interfere in Deeley's match.

Edd Stone (7) vs Samael Bach (6)

- Unpredictable Edd-Fu makes it to CGC!

Eddie Chandler (9) vs Sean Deeley (6)

- I am wavering if Deeley gets sent to FCK, but I'm going to stick with it and I think Chandler is the sort of talent that knows Deeley and can tie him in knots.

Tag Title Match: Art Reed & Benny Benson vs Dirty White Boys

- I see no reason for Arny Reedson win the titles from the DWB, seems a thrown together team, who will be very skilled but will come up short.

4v4 Match to become Interviewer: Team Missy vs Team Jenny

- I like Messed-up Missy's gimmick better, but Jenny seems the better interviewer, let Missy back where she belongs... stalking DeColts!

Christian Price (14) vs Ricky DeColt (15) CGC desperately needs a new top face, and Price has come up trumps for you before. Time for him to have the ball and see what he does with it.

Alex DeColt (7) vs Gargantuan (9)

Bobby Thomas (7) vs Stevie Grayson (6)

Edd Stone (7) vs Samael Bach (6)

Eddie Chandler (9) vs Sean Deeley (6)

All leading into a three-way match where Thomas and Stone double-team DeColt to eliminate one of CGC's biggest names, and give FCK a boost for six months, and queuing up a huge return six months down the line.

And, you know, let Deeley move up a step on the roster

Tag Title Match: Art Reed & Benny Benson vs Dirty White Boys Clearly needs Greg Black in for one or other of the St.01 guys...

4v4 Match to become Interviewer: Team Missy vs Team Jenny I figure Missy is back on a short term contract, and can come back any time, but she's not necessarily someone to have around all the time

Christian Price (14) vs Ricky DeColt (15) I was starting to form a theory about Bach getting banished, only for Ricky to win the USS and use one of his 3 Wishes to re-instate his master.......but I just had another idea. With Ricky remaining undefeated in the series so far, it would be a more fitting end storyline-wise for somone to finally beat that streak.

Plus, Christian Price's 3 wishes would be more fun than Ricky-bot's.

Alex DeColt (7) vs Gargantuan (9) I thought this match seemed like the most....inconsequential, neither guys are at the top or the bottom. I'm predicting Gargantuan (via Bach interference) because keeping Alex near the bottom opens up more possibilities.

Bobby Thomas (7) vs Stevie Grayson (6) The USS is coming to an end, so it's abot time somebody breaks the curse on the Canadian title!

Edd Stone (7) vs Samael Bach (6) DId Bach seriously try to drug Edd with spiked muffins? He doesn't know Edd to well. The 24-hr Party Animal fights better when he's high!

Ok,..undecided about this. There are so many ways this can go depending on which guy is going to lose the series. I've predicted that Grayson will win his match, so that would leave Back and Deeley as the last 2. Considering Bach has been trying to recruit Deeley, it would be interesting if the last tiebreaker were between the two of them. Then again, Bach can simply win this match, and then continue to taunt Deeley with the potion now that all the pressure is on him! With Alex only one point above Deeley (which is why I predicted him to lose to Gargantuan, it may be a struggle to see whether Deeley falls to the temptation and use the potion to get the points, leading to Alex being in last place....but then Edd and Bobby will be tied with him too....unless Bach finds a way to get Alex further penalized to lose points?......way too many guys with the same points and I'm getting a headache trying to think of all the scenarios. :p

Bottomline, though, I don't think Bach is going to get banished at the end of the series. Whether it's via winning this match, or beating Deeley in tiebreaker, or getting Ricky to use a wish for him, I think he's staying for the time being. I'll just go with my heart on this and predict an Edd victory, because the spiked muffin foreshadowing makes it way too obvious to work.

Eddie Chandler (9) vs Sean Deeley (6) Deeley staying at the bottom for the afore-speculated tiebreaker against Bach.

Tag Title Match: Art Reed & Benny Benson vs Dirty White Boys No build-up, no reason for title to change hands....but then again, look at what's happening to the Canadian Title. :p Sticking to my prediction, but wouldn't be surprised either way by this point.

4v4 Match to become Interviewer: Team Missy vs Team Jenny Trying to think of who's to be on the teams......Prime Energy are the obvious candidates for Team Jenny, but other than that.....I'm struggling to think of credible faces that aren't already occupied in the USS, and I don't think there's anyone left barring Jack DeColt, whom I doubt is going to be involved in this. Missy Masterson on the other hand probably has her friend Chandler supplying her with troops from the Elite, and I can see a team involving DaLay and El Eet taking down anyone Jenny can possibly recruit from what's left of the roster.

Davis Ditterich “After two months of grueling competition it’s time for the finals of the Ultimate Showdown Series. I was supposed to be joined by the two USS hosts, Jenny Playmate and Missy Masterson, but they’re busy recruiting teams for later on tonight. So instead please welcome the CGC World Champion; Jack DeColt, and his lovely wife Marie.”

Jack DeColt “Two men have stood above all others in this year’s Series. I’ll admit I’ve had my doubts that Christian Price had what it took to truly make it to the top, but he has been an absolute force of nature. My brother Ricky, on the other hand? I always knew he could do it, but I never thought it would be like this, under the spell of Samael Bach.”

Davis Ditterich “One of those two will take 1st place and win the 3 Wishes in tonight’s main event... but who will take last place? Six names are in the danger zone, but which will be banished from Canadian Golden Combat?”

7pts - ALEX DECOLT VS GARGANTUAN - 9pts

Jack DeColt “Sometimes that big brain of Alex’s can backfire on him. His obsession with banishing Bach has cost him a lot of points. Last Sunday’s win helped... but the danger’s not over yet.”

Alex avoids fists the size of his own head, and unleashes pinpoint counterpunches, targeting pressure points for maximum stopping power. He goes for the DeColt Driver (Straightjacket Drop) but Gargantuan’s too big, too sturdy. Unreal Clothesline! Gargantuan dominates Alex, lawn darting him into the turnbuckles. Puzzling out the genetically enginerred fighting machine’s rhythms, Alex battles back with more precision strikes. before charging him face-first into the turnbuckle, tying him up for the DeColt Driver (Straightjacket Drop) and jumping off the middle rope to give him enough momentum to take Gargantuan down. 1... 2... 3!

ALEX DECOLT WINS 2 POINTS (10:09)

Davis Ditterich “Alex has survived, but his night isn’t over yet if he wants Samael Bach to be the one to be banished.”

BACKSTAGE

The picture of relaxation, EDDIE CHANDLER has his feet up, watching the Ultimate Showdown Series continue on a monitor. He’s even enjoying a lollipop, which he licks while making eye-contact with passing crew members.

EDDIE CHANDLER

Damn. I guess it was foolish to hope ze Alex would be banished.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/MissyMastersonS_zps48546642.jpg

MISSY MASTERSON

Good. I found you. If I’m to get my job back I’m going to need to

assemble the best team possible. Where are Dan DaLay & El Eet?

EDDIE CHANDLER

Ze El Eet is cutting ze ribbon on ze new parking lot zey have built over

zat orphanage, and ze Dan DaLay is probably off fighting bears or

something.

MISSY MASTERSON

What? No! Get them here now! You need to help me.

EDDIE CHANDLER

I do not need to do anything. Not tonight. I am on nine points in ze USS.

I cannot win. I cannot lose. I don’t even have to beat ze Sean Deeley

tonight. I could stay in zis chair and let him win by forfeit. If you want

help, maybe I can find you Ozzie’s number... although I haven’t spoken

to him since ze Ricky DeColt destroyed his face.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/SWarrenTechnique_zpse33019d3.jpg

Missy whirls around to find WARREN TECHNIQUE staring at her, breathing heavily. He hands her a small notecard.

MISSY MASTERSON

“Ego moriar pro te”? Sorry. I don’t speak virgin loser. Just give me

Ozzie’s number.

DIRTY WHITE BOYS

Grease Hogg & Lead Belly

Davis Ditterich “The Dirty White Boys are back from vacation and ready to fight. Can these two ex-training partners gel together to take their titles?”

The DWB assault their foes with drunken thuggery, until Benson scores a dropkick to Hogg’s knee. Cackling like a madman, Benny unleashes a barrage of stomps to the injured limb, as Reed directs traffic and artistically follows suit. Benny takes Hogg on a Big Adventure. Leap (Ha) Atomic drop (Haha) Trip (Hahaha) Strut (Oooooooooh) but he misses the Fist Drop and Hogg makes the tag!

Lead bounces the brotherhood around with belly butts! He hoists Reed up for the RPM Bomb (Spinning Crucifix Toss) but SUPER KICK from Benson! Lead’s wobbly. SUPER KICK from Reed! He’s down to one knee. The Brotherhood go to finish him, but Hogg wipes out Reed with a Grease Spot (High Knee)! SUPER KICK from Benson to Hogg! RPM Bomb to Benson! 1... 2... 3!

DIRTY WHITE BOYS RETAIN (12:37)

EDD STONE is bent over the toilet bowl, watched over by ALEX DECOLT and BOBBY THOMAS.

ALEX DECOLT

What the hell??? How many muffins did he eat???

BOBBY THOMAS

I’m not his mother. How should I know?

EDD STONE

Guys.... I think I’m allergic to gluten.

ALEX DECOLT

No, you’re allergic to poison. Samael Bach gave you poisoned muffins,

you moron. Bobby, help me get him to my locker room. Poisoned

or not, someone needs to tell him how to beat Samael Bach tonight.

BOBBY THOMAS

And that should be you? No way. You’ve screwed things up for the

Brotherhood enough. Edd stays with me.

EDD STONE

Bobby... If I die... delete the box under my bed and flush my browser history.

BOBBY THOMAS

Ugh. Screw it, I’ve got my own problems. Someone in that damn communal

locker room keeps stealing my knee pads.

CANADIAN TITLE MATCH

7pts - BOBBY THOMAS VS STEVIE GRAYSON - 6pts

Jack DeColt “A draw would be enough to ensure Bobby’s survival, but if won’t get him the Canadian Title or the private locker room that comes with it.”

Thomas fiddles with his gear. One of his kneepads is noticeably bigger than the other. Stevie ducks, dips, dives, dodges and- SUPER KICK! 1... 2... Stevie kicks out, but he’s in trouble. Thomas attacks the leg with a methodical barrage of stomps, preventing Stevie from picking up speed. He can’t duck. He can’t dip. He can’t dive. He can dodge, however, as Thomas needs to pull up his over-sized pad before attempting a High Knee. Stevie rolls him up. Once. Twice. Getting closer and closer to the three until the technician counters with the St.01 Ankle Stretch! Stevie screams in pain! He fights and struggles and fades… and notices the knee-pad has slipped down to Thomas’s ankle. With one last grasp, Stevie rolls forward, rolling Thomas up, desperately grabbing the pad for enough leverage to keep him down for 1... 2... 3!

STILL CHAMPION: STEVIE GRAYSON EARNS 2 POINTS (8:42)

Davis Ditterich “By the skin of his teeth, Stevie Grayson gets the points! He’s overtaken Bobby! He’s ensured his survival and kept the Canadian Title.”

Bobby Thomas is furious. Furious at seeing the title being carried away by a limping Stevie, and furious at what is clearly not his knee-pad.

The Bold Gendarmes have apprehended a confused and frightened wrestling fan. STUART KENT pats him down, quickly finding a smartphone and tossing it to GORDON MANN.

GORDON MANN

Fancy phone. Does it have a camera? You do know it’s illegal to have

recording equipment on your person at CGC shows, don‘t you?

You’re in big trouble, kid. We’ll have to confiscate this.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/MissyMastersonS_zps48546642.jpg

MISSY MASTERSON taps Kent on the shoulder.

Back away, miss, Royal Canadian Mounted Police business.

You’d be wise not to interfere.

MISSY MASTERSON

I don’t care about this little turd. I’m here to report a crime. Jenny

Playmate is trying to steal my job. I want justice. I want the Bold

The Gendarmes seem far from convinced.

Looking at the black kneepad in his hands, ALEX DECOLT hides it in his bag, before looking at his guest. EDD STONE has his gear on, but is still moaning in pain on the couch.

ALEX DECOLT

We have more in common than you think, Edd. I didn’t choose this

life either. I never planned to be a wrestler. My Dad came home one

day and just decided to train me. I think he wanted to toughen me up.

Get my head out of the books. I didn’t think I’d be good at it, but I was.

So are you. You could be great, Edd. Enough time. Enough dedication.

You could be one of the best, and CGC could be your home... but if

Samael Bach survives there won’t be a CGC left. You need to beat

him, Edd. You need-

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/BobbyThomasSt01S.jpg

BOBBY THOMAS bursts in, and he is furious. He yanks Edd off of the couch and slams him against a wall.

BOBBY THOMAS

Listen up you little turd. I’ve had your back for 13 years, and it’s time

you made yourself useful. You’re gonna beat Samael Bach tonight,

because if you don’t, and it comes down to you and me in a tie-breaker,

I won’t hesitate to kick your teeth down your throat and throw you out

of CGC myself. I’m Bobby freakin’ Thomas! I will not be banished. Not

tonight! Not like this!

Bobby throws Edd aside, and storms out.

Jack DeColt “Both men will be looking at this as a must win, but Samael Bach’s poison could have already determined the outcome. Edd can barely stand.”

Looking supremely confident, Bach easily picks apart his poisoned foe. Edd tries to fight back, but it’s all on instinct, all techniques that can be easily countered by Bach’s supernatural precognition. Diving Reverse DDT! 1... 2... Edd kicks out. Overhead Kick! 1... 2... Again, Edd kicks out and Bach is surprised. How is he still alive? Bach goes for the Harbinger (Flying Flip Neckbreaker) but is caught by surprise in mid air by an Epic Drop-Clown!

Edd cuts the ring in half with trickery and God-like strength, before playing Bach for a fool with tumbling and perfect technique. Tornado Uppercut! German Bulldog! Ultimate LungblowaaaAAAHHH! Bach has no idea what’s going on. Seated Stretch Proton Lock (I... I don’t know)! Bach taps!

EDD STONE WINS 3 POINTS (11:30)

Davis Ditterich “Bach’s plan failed! I guess Edd’s body is resistant to drugging for some reason, and he just unleashed the most random display of making-it-up-as-you-go I’ve ever seen. Bach’s in big trouble now.”

MISSY MASTERSON carefully approaches AKIMA BRAVE, as though he’s a wild animal.

MISSY MASTERSON

Me Missy. Me good. Jenny bad. Skank. Dirty. You fight for me. Kill

Team Jenny? Understand?

AKIMA BRAVE

Two things. One, I speak English. Two, Jenny recruited me yesterday.

Akima walks away, leaving Missy fuming. Suddenly, she hears heavy breathing behind her.

DRAKE, CHUCKY, AKIMA BRAVE & WHIPPY THE CLOWN

/w Jenny Playmate

Davis Ditterich “CGC isn’t big enough for the both of them. Only one can be the official backstage interviewer, but who has chosen the better team tonight?”

Team Missy almost fall victim to a quadruple sunset flip early, but a distraction from Missy allows Warren to hit Chucky with the Iactus (Exploder). The Gendarmes cut the ring in half with trickery and deceit, while Warren works him over with perfect technique and even Ozzie is happy to pitch in… until Jenny Playmate’s distraction allows Chucky to clout him in the face with a rolling wheel kick. Drake gets the tag and goes bananas with atomic drops, before pulling out an INVISIBLE HAND GRENADE and placing it on Warren. Missy yells for him not to fall for it, but- BOOM! Chucky destroys him with a Senton!

Ozzie hits Drake with “Whatever” (Jumping Russian Legsweep Thing) but flees in terror when Akima enters the ring. The Samoan pulverizes the Gendarmes with hard head butts before getting caught in Kent’s Solitary Confinement (Inescapable Wheelbarrow Cradle) 1... 2... Whippy makes the save, and plays the Gendarmes for fools with tumbling and simple mime tricks, before he too gets caught in Solitary Confinement. 1... 2... Chucky makes the save, but doesn’t have much fight left in him. The Gendarmes go for Police Brutality (Backbreaker/Elbow Drop Combo) and Akima returns to catch Kent in mid air and hurl him at his partner with the Golden Gate Bridge (Power Northern Lights)!

Missy is furious, hitting the ring and charging at Akima. Jenny tackles her! The two USS hosts roll around, clawing at each other, pulling hair and ripping clothes. Here comes Warren- Samoan Suplex (Stalling Fisherman)! 1... 2... 3!

Jack DeColt “Former Elite members about to go at it. Deeley’s never beaten Eddie Chandler before, but if he can do it here he’ll ensure his survival and doom Samael Bach to banishment.”

Deeley's quick to take the fight to the ground, but Chandler wants no part of it, using his considerable technical skills (and his long fingernails) to break free. A big right hand is enough to rock Deeley, who clearly hasn’t recovered from the beating Ricky gave him two weeks ago. Chandler toys with his former stablemate, until Deeley pounces with brutal takedowns and animalistic suplexes! He latches onto the Fabulous One's fabulous arm and wrenching it at un-fabulous angles! Chandler’s on the verge of tapping, and- Strange chimes sound...

... but Sean Deeley keeps on wrenching. He won’t be distracted. Unlike referee David Poker, who looks around, expected a certain Soothsayer to appear. Picking his moment, Chandler jams a fingernail into Deeley’s eye. The Shooter releases the hold. Elitist Plex (Stalling Front Suplex) 1... 2... 3!

EDDIE CHANDLER WINS 2 POINTS (7:46)

Davis Ditterich “No! Sean Deeley had him. Now he’ll have to fight again in a tiebreaker later o- ”

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/SamaelBachS_zps826a527d.jpg

Strange Chimes announce the appearance of SAMAEL BACH perched on the top rope. He nails Sean Deeley with the Harbinger (Flying Flip Neckbreaker) and demands referee Francis Long ring the bell!

1... 2.... Deeley kicks out! Bach picks him apart with stinging kicks, stopping all of the Shooter's attempted takedowns with supernatural precognition. Diving Reverse DDT! Overhead Kick! 1... 2... Deeley isn’t done yet, and starts fighting back. Eye-gouging. No nonsense brawling. SUPER KICK! 1... 2... Bach kicks out and desperately reaches under the ring to retrieve a VIAL OF POTION before trying to force it down Deeley's throat.. Having none of it, the referee snatches the potion from the Soothsayer's grasp, but as he turns his back to remove the illegal liquid from the ring- Low Blow! 1... 2... Deeley kicks out. Bach goes for the Harbinger, but Deeley mimes an invisible wall! What the? Solitary Confinement (Inescapable Wheelbarrow Roll Up)! 1... 2... 3!

IN-RING

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/SPrice_zps6eadfa72.jpg

Five people in prison uniforms walk on the stage for an intergalactic police line-up. Well, I say ‘people’, but they could be the motliest crew I’ve ever seen. There’s a muscular bald midget. A green-skinned female midget. A midget in a raccoon outfit. Three midgets in a tree costume, and CHRISTIAN PRICE. The Star-Lo-

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCminor/ricky5S.jpg

Staring ahead with cold, dead eyes, RICKY DECOLT appears behind Price and- Ripcord Lariat! The other ‘Guardians’ leap to their friend’s defense. Ricky shoves over the tree, punches the girl and kicks the raccoon in the face. The muscular one tries a spear.... but it does nothing to the spelllbound monster, who launches it into the crowd.

Ricky DeColt takes Christian Price apart with right hands, throwing him into the guardrails and into the crowd, forcing fans to flee in terror. Price throws some european uppercuts, but they barely seem to have any effect on the monster, who continues the beating, through the crowd and back into the ring.

14pts - CHRISTIAN PRICE VS RICKY DECOLT - 15pts

Davis Ditterich “Ricky DeColt has delivered an unmerciful beating, but we have no choice but to start the match. We need a winner.”

The bell rings and the spellbound Ricky continues to take his opponent apart with right hands, until Price moves himself into position for the Running Bulldog. There’s a flicker of life in Ricky’s cold, dead eyes, and Price takes advantage with stomps to the foot to attack the weak spot, and- POISON MIST! Price is blind. He ducks the Ripcord Lariat, but eats a Spear and continues to take a beating. Price weathers the storm long enough to regain his sight, before clambering to the top rope.

Jack DeColt “What the-? Price is going to the top?”

Ricky climbs up to meet him, knocks him down, and- Freezes. There’s another flicker of life in his eyes, and he goes for the High Fly Elbow! Price moves! Ricky crashes and burns and Christian battles back, finally doing some damage by alternating between stomps to the foot and bone-rattling uppercuts. Stud Stopper (Twisting Snap Powerslam)! Price Check (TKO)! 1... 2... The monster kicks out. On a roll, Christian goes for Price Check again, but this time Ricky slips free! Ripcord Lariat! 1... 2... Christian’s too dumb to die!

“One minute remaining”

Ricky drops his foe with a huge Press Slam, but as he launches himself for the spear GETS UPPERCUTTED OUT OF MID AIR! Without a second to lose, Price quickly applies the St.01 Ankle Stretch! Yes, really. Twisting with all his might, he starts kneeing the weak spot, as the monster cries in pain.

“Thirty seconds left”

Trapped in a world of pain, Ricky DeColt fights and struggles and there’s more than just flashes of life in his cold, dead eyes. No chimes can be heard, only very human screams. With one last supernatural show of strength, Ricky powers up to his feet... but Price uppercuts the weak spot! It’s locked in! Ricky taps!

CHRISTIAN PRICE WINS (11:24)

Davis Ditterich “Christian Price has done it. Somehow he put all of the pieces together and defeated the spellbound monster Ricky DeColt. What’s in store for CGC now that Price has the 3 Wishes in his possession?”

... and with that, I’m going ON HIATUS. I want to say it'll be a month, but it all depends on when I get excited by the project again. I’d blame the grind of the Ultimate Showdown Series, but truthfully this is a long time coming. I’m barely meeting deadlines (hell, this show was late) so this is a good time to take a month off. I can think to the future, get a nice stockpile of scripts going, and chill out a bit. I need stories I can look forward to, and if I’m always focussing on next week’s show, I can’t really come up with them without feeling guilty.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with this year’s USS. Unlike last year’s, where contract signings and creative control forced me to switch a lot of results late on, this one went mostly as planned. That being said, I don't know if I'm going to keep the same format next year. Maybe I’ll drop it to nine combatants. Maybe increase it to 12/14/16, but split them into two 'blocks' G1 style. Something different. Maybe. This 10 man format is really fun to book, so I’ll probably forget the headache of writing this year’s. I depends on the roster I had available. This year’s suffered from a lack of babyfaces. I didn’t really want to include Deeley and Grayson (more because they were in last year’s Series than their characters) but I didn’t have any other babyfaces strong enough to challenge Ricky/Chandler/Alex. Generally, I’m not too concerned with my lack of babyfaces (I run 60 minute TV’s, after all) but here’s where it got annoying. So many heels I thought about including. Benson. El Eet. Zeus. That TCW guy.

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/CGCmain/Banner_zpsac259299.jpg

I’ll announce the card for the next show when I’m ready to post it (or I might just post out of nowhere)so here’s a question.

Who would you like to see more of, when CGC continues?

If you have any questions, ask away.

How on earth do you uppercut during an ankle lock? :p

As for the question, I want to see more of Warren Technique, the heavy breathing Latin guy. I think it's a pretty fun character and I'd love to see him in a highlighted role even if it is only a month long.

Other stuff, more of The Rapscallions, the return of the King of Chop tournament (You mentioned it in Jack's three wishes but I can't remember ever seeing it)

Looking forward to seeing how Price uses his wishes as well. Should be immensely fun.

Awesome end show to the the USS! Can't wait to find out about Christan's wishes.

Who would you like to see more of, when CGC continues?

Zeus is sorely missed, especially since I felt he could have done more during his run on top, but if you're talking about guys you haven't given a prominent push at all so far.....Warren Technique. Chandler was right, he's Sean Deeley, but more interesting. :p

I liken this to a form of TV show, with lots of stories said. I felt that a story ended when both Bach and Ricky lost their matches, one that it was building up to. You pretty much provided a big swerve. I expected Alex to lose his match and, at the very least, end up in the tie-breaking match against Bach, setting off a big match. Quite a lot of people predicted Alex would lose his match against Gargantuan.

Anyway, for your question, I liked Warren Technique. The Survival of the Fittest Contest pretty much showed how athletic he really was. Surprised he didn't join Elite, but eh, it works for storyline purposes. :p I'd like to see more of him. :D

Suprised that Gargantuan was chosen, over a lot of people I can think of, like Shaffer, Zeus & El Eet.

Wow.

Okay, I was not expecting Samael to be banished, but it does make sense with hindsight. You've been very good at sending people on hiatus when they're starting to become stale after a prolonged push, and Samael has been on a long come-down after a run of dominance. The talk of Sean Deeley losing and taking time off to get a character distracted me.

As for what I'd like to see more of... Hmm. I'd like to see inter-promotional stuff, talent trades and the like, to spice up the odd show here and there. I know it would mean giving screen time to outsiders when your roster is already over-stuffed, but the odd one-off character gives interesting match-ups.

Give Sean Deeley more angle time. He's got a character - the Lance Storm super-serious thing, the thing where he has no emotions - but he's a tailor-made straight man for when you need one. Give him some time. He might even win the support of the diary fans.

More Hotstuff Marie! Her drawings are awesome.

I'll echo what Greylocke said, more Zeus Maxmillion I feel like he really didn't get a prolonged run at the top like maybe he should have. Maybe that was your goal but I feel he can be utilized a bit better going forward because now he's more of an afterthought.

To paraphrase Jeff Goldblum, Price finds a way.

the return of the King of Chop tournament (You mentioned it in Jack's three wishes but I can't remember ever seeing it)

After the carnage that occurred the first time, the King of Chop tournament hasn't been repeated… Yet.

Gonna sound daft, but a fun thing to do for the USS might just be to make it a tag format, and you get to use more of the roster, too.

Maybe. I really like that idea, although “get to use more of the roster” isn’t necessarily a good thing. More isn’t always better, and it certainly isn’t easier. Sure, I could have more guys wrestling, but I wouldn’t want a bunch of interchangeable names just having matches. The USS is about angles and character arcs as much as fightin’ and points. A tag team version would be a fun change of pace though. There are good stories to be told.

Personally, I thought the last two months were entirely about Alex getting Bach banished. That was the 'A' story, and after some hardships, the main hero won in the end. Is that a swerve? Or was it so obvious a conclusion that you expected a swerve (such as Alex being banished) and the lack of swerve was in itself a swerve?

I like Samael Bach, but he’s an overpowering character who takes over the main plot whenever he’s around. Unlike an Eddie Chandler, who can naturally transition into midcard feuds, Bach got a whole ‘World Domination’ thing going. Anything less than the main event feels wrong. Ultimately, if I want to write different stories with different antagonists, Bach has to step aside. It helps that he’s not a CGC original, so I feel more comfortable cycling him in and out.

Suprised that Gargantuan was chosen, over a lot of people I can think of, like Shaffer, Zeus & El Eet.

If you look at the roster for last year’s USS, it was pretty much all Workratey Light-Middleweights (Trent, Bobby, Stevie, Johnson, Ricky, Whippy, Zeus, Deeley, Powell, McClean) so I really wanted a big ‘un in there for variety this year. Plus, it’s always tricky finding Gargantuan something to do which isn’t “Monster Unleashed” angles. This was something different.

El Eet didn’t really have the popularity to compete with this year’s field. Trent Shaffer’s feud with Price had come a natural end, so a vacation made sense. Almighty Zeus is… Man, I struggle with Zeus. Given that all three were in last year’s USS, and the amount of heels I already had ready to go, it wasn’t a hard choice to leave any of them out.

I loved the conclusion to the series... Bach doing everything possible to stay in, Alex pushing everyone as much as possible to end Bach, Edd inventing some mind boggling moves to win... all awesome.

What I also love, and commented on at the time, was how important the Bach/Ricky draw was at the start... by splitting the points they were both screwed in the long run, with Bach being dropped off the bottom as a result and Ricky narrowly missing out on winning because of it too. Suck on that precognizant powers! :p

Missy Masterson continues to be awesome, it worries me how much I love her. :)

Also, Christian Price with 3 wishes... I can see them being hilarious. Not sure what he would wish for though... I can't see him wishing for a title match, he seems like the sort who would only take one if he could earn it. But I can see EVERYONE trying to manipulate him into using his wishes badly. Maybe he accidentally wishes Edd Stone to be sober within earshot of Edd, who is still confused enough about magic for it to work... or Price being told something doesn't work in some way and wishing that it did... or Price wishing for something really bad, like a huge amount of hamburgers, and getting them... so much silliness could be had, but I can almost see someone stepping up to protect him from being manipulated, someone who makes it their job to stop him rom accidentally wishing for things.

Also, Price deserves a girlfriend. A nice one. :)

Really? I didn't see it like that. I was always more interested in who was going to win than who was going to get banished. I was assuming that the story was 'Alex fails to banish Samael Bach and goes to some dark and crazy places in the process'. Admittedly, that's because...

...Sammy is so important that clearly he can't get banished. I'm interested in how he's going to return and what's going to happen with Ricky without his patron being around. I'm wondering who's going to shift into the top Heel spot next.

This is why I said Christian Price's 3 wishes would be more fun than Ricky-bot's. A Ricky win would simply be a repeat of what happened last year (Bach controlling the wishes of his "soldier" and using them against the DeColts). With Christian the possibilities are endless.

Actually, now I have the sudden urge to see Edd Stone buddying up to Price and suggest all kinds of outrageous things for Price to try his wishes on. Not out of malice, but more out of a desire to see "magic" work. While Price would reject them, not because he doesn't believe they'll work, but because Edd's ideas of fun wouldn't sound "right" or "decent" to him.

Or Price can, out of genuine good will and altruism, wish that a certain dastardly heel will change his ways and become a good guy. And that heel will then be pressurized by CGC management to "turn good or get fired/suspended", forcing him to have to constantly restrain himself from doing "bad" deeds week after week. I can just see someone like Chandler, Shaffer or even Gargantuan going crazy from it. Or even Edd (even though he isn't really malicious by nature, but he'll go absolutely nuts if Price's idea of being "good" equates to being prim, proper and respectable like the rest of his family).

Sooooo many ways this can go.....
