Stanley Carpenter vs Canadian Crusher

Paradox vs Davie Renluenn

The Paratroopers vs Southern Hospitality

Cal Sanders vs Skip Beau vs Nomad © vs Alan Parent w/ Kammy Ling – Florida Bay Heavyweight Championship

Tough call on the Main Event. I still believe your talent mix dictates putting the belt on a face for a while (which would also allow you to move Renluenn into the title picture in service of your real mission). On the other hand, this four way match could be a clever method of shifting the belt directly to Alan Parent to appease the vocal Team Puwowesu fanbase. But that would mean two champions in a row who are poor workers. And of course, even if I'm right about a face champion, Beau is as likely a choice than Sanders. So basically what I'm saying is... I picked the guy I like.

Florida Bay International Pro Wrestling: Enhanced Interrogation

Rainbow Bar & Grill, Florida Bay

Saturday W2, June

31 people showed up

Announce Team:

http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/sebsplex/HarveyManners.jpghttp://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/EveRuncord_zpsa1ab512c.jpg

Harvey Manners: “Good Evening, and welcome to ‘Enhanced Interrogation’! My name is Harvey Manners, and seated to my left is a very happy Eve Runcord.”

Eve Runcord: “Thanks Harvey. We wondered if there would be any repercussions for Nomad’s actions in the Main Event at ‘Espionsge’... and the match makers here in Florida Bay International Pro Wrestling haven’t let us down, as tonight we will see the Florida Bay Heavyweight Championship defended in a four way match for the very first time!”

Harvey Manners: “The odds really are stacked against the Champion in this one...”

Eve Runcord: “Serves him right! It just proves you can’t go around breaking all the rules and get away with it. It’s great to see Cal Sanders and Skip Beau getting another chance at the gold after Nomad cheated them out of their last opportunity.”

Harvey Manners: “Don’t forget about Alan Parent...”

Eve Runcord: “Yeah... well... I guess you can’t have everything in life.”

The show kicks off with Cal Sanders appearing from behind the curtain, however before he can even begin making his way down to the ring Davie Renluenn appears behind the ‘Leaping Lumberjack’. Renluenn makes no attempt to avoid Sanders as he pushes past him, barging straight through the Canadian with his shoulder as he pushes Sanders out of the way. This stops Sanders in his tracks, with the normally measured Canadian looking genuinely pissed off with the arrogant Renluenn. Sanders seems to consider following Renluenn down to the ring, but eventually decides against it and moves to head to the back, leaving Renluenn alone in the ring to cut his promo.

Davie Renluenn: “I would apologise for pushing past you Cal, but honestly I was just doing these people a favour. Have you not got the message yet? Nobody cares about what you have to say.”

The crowd begin booing Renluenn, showing their disagreement with his previous statement... not that Renluenn seems to worry too much.

Davie Renluenn: “Yet for some reason the morons in charge of booking this company insist on giving you chance after chance after chance after chance, no matter how many times you come up short. So surprise, surprise tonight’s Main Event sees Cal Sanders get his ceremonial one-thousandth shot at the Florida Bay Heavyweight Championship... forgive me for not bringing a present to mark the occasion, but maybe after you lose this one, you’ll finally do everyone a favour and head back to whatever backwater state of Canada you came out of.”

The crowd continue booing Davie Renluenn, who is getting increasingly worked up as he continues through his promo.

Davie Renluenn: “Maybe then this company will start handing title shots out to people who actually deserve them... to people like me. I’ve heard people saying this match is meant to be some kind of punishment for what Nomad did at ‘Espionage’? If you really want to punish Nomad, then make him get in the ring with me. Nomad cost me a number one contender’s match because he was scared of me... and I will get my revenge... because in the end, I always get what I want.”

Rating: F+

Eve Runcord: “Who does Davie Renluenn think he is? He literally barges in on Cal Sanders promo time, and then just talks about himself...”

Harvey Manners: “Well that is his favourite topic...”

Eve Runcord: “I’m just glad he wasn’t included in tonight’s Main Event... although including this man isn’t much better...”

Harvey Manners: “According to the notes in front of me, Alan Parent was included due to his ‘impressive win-loss record in FBIW’... hard to argue with that.”

Alan Parent is indeed next out from behind the curtain, and as always he is joined by his manager Kammy Ling. The two seem to be in good spirits as they approach the ring, presumably due to Alan Parent being a part of the four way title match in tonight’s Main Event.

Kammy Ling: “Last month Alan Pawent demanded title shot, and I’m glad to weport that tonight he is part of four way match for the Flowida Bay Heavyweight Championship... It’s nice to see we are finally getting some wespect awound here... Still not as much wespect as a Puwowesu superstar deserve ... but maybe that will change when Alan Pawent become Flowida Bay Heavyweight Champion! Alan Pawent has much, much expewience in title matches... he win many, many titles back in Japan. Unlike all the North Amewican wrestlers you’ve watched fail many times in past, Alan Pawent won’t need a second chance at gold. He will get job done tonight, and when he wins his first Amewican title all of you stoopid Amewican’s will finally wealise just why Alan Pawent is big in Japan... and Puwowesu will finally rule here in FBI!”

The crowd are booing the pair as they exit the ring, obviously not too keen on the possibility that Alan Parent could be the Florida Bay Heavyweight Champion by the end of the night.

Rating: F+

Harvey Manners: “Kammy Ling there, claiming that Alan Parent’s big match experience from his time in Japan will stand him in good stead for tonight’s Main Event...”

Eve Runcord: “Oh come on Harvey... seriously.”

Harvey Manners: “What?”

Eve Runcord: “You’re not seriously suggesting that you... oh whatever, let’s just move on... our first match of the evening sees young Stanley Carpenter facing off against Canadian Crusher...”

Stanley Carpenter vs Canadian Crusher

  • Stanley Carpenter started this match strongly, using his speed to his advantage as he adopted a ‘hit and run’ tactic, looking to avoid a straight brawl with his much more powerful opponent.
  • Canadian Crusher struggled to raise any offense during the first few minutes of the match, as he couldn’t get hold of his quicker, more agile opponent.
  • Carpenter continued to chip away at Crusher with quick strikes until around the five minute mark, when Crusher finally got hold of the youngster and shook the ring with a powerful Spinebuster.
  • It looked like Crusher would dominate the match from this point, as he landed a few power moves, but Carpenter was able to surprise the Heavyweight by ducking under a Clothesline attempt and using a Chop Block to take Crusher’s knee out from under him.
  • This allowed a flurry of kicks from Carpenter, who then proceeded to head to the top rope. However an attempted Body Splash from the youngster was caught by Canadian Crusher in an impressive show of strength, and reversed into a Swinging Side Slam.
  • This move completely took the wind out of Carpenter’s sails, and while the youngster was able to battle back to his feet, he was quickly met with the Full Nelson Slam. This proved to be more than enough to earn Crusher the win.

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Canadian Crusher defeated Stanley Carpenter in 8:06 by pinfall with a Full Nelson Slam.

Rating: E-

Eve Runcord: “A devastating finish from Canadian Crusher there...”

Harvey Manners: “Stanley Carpenter fought hard, but in the end the power of Candian Crusher proved to be too much for the youngster.”

Eve Runcord: “Another strong performance with no results for Stanley Carpenter, how long until he can get that all important first win?”

Next out from behind the curtain we have the Texan duo of Joffy Laine & Tex Tagan. Neither man looks happy as they make their way down to the ring, a fact that is hyped up on commentary.

Joffy Laine: “Whoever books the matches for this company, I want you to take a long hard look at the ring right now... ‘cause what you’re lookin’ at is two pissed off Texans. Last month at ‘Covert Operations’, Tex and I disposed of the Paratroopers once and for all in a six-man tag match and proved that we are the two most dominant wrestlers in this company... and yet neither of us have been included in tonight’s four way Main Event...”

Tex Tagan: “Now I been hearin’ that ‘Alan Pawent’ has been included in the match, ahead of both of us, because of his impressive win-loss record in FBI. Now ‘Alan Pawent’, let’s look at your record here in FBI Pro Wrestling then look at mine. I am unbeaten in Florida Bay International Pro Wrestling, 8-0. Now correct me if I’m wrong, but hasn’t Mr ‘Pawent’ lost two of his matches? I mean I would go on, but Skip Beau and Cal Sanders have lost as many matches as they have won. Now y’all tell me, does it seem fair that those three men get included in the four way ahead of me?”

Joffy Laine: “As if it wasn’t bad enough that we were overlooked for the main event... again... then we find out that we’re facin’ the Paratroopers again. Now we spent most of the past five months beatin’ on those lil pipsqueaks, and, as Tex’s record suggests, they ain’t seen much success in that time.”

Tex Tagan: “So we’re out here tonight to make one thing very clear to y’all. We want the Florida Bay Heavyweight Championship. And when Texan’s want somethin’, we don’t ask twice. So after we’re done beatin’ on tweedle-dum and tweedle-dee tonight, the next match we’re wrestlin’ better see one of us in the Main Event fightin’ for the Florida Bay Heavyweight Championship... or else.”

With that the Texans drop their mics and begin to head to the back, before Tex Tagan turns back and picks his microphone back up for a final word.

Tex Tagan: “Oh, and tweedle-dum, tweedle-dee, I would apologise for what we’re about to do to you tonight, but it’s all part of our famous Southern Hospitality.”

Rating: E

Harvey Manners: “Tex Tagan making a valid point there. He has been a dominant force here in FBI, how long until he gets a shot at the title?”

Eve Runcord: “I just feel sorry for the Paratroopers, they must have thought they’d seen the last of those angry Texans…”

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/Paradox_zps5a90902f.jpghttp://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/6229145/1024/CZCW/VS.jpghttp://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/DavieRenluenn_zps911a870f.jpg

Paradox vs Davie Renluenn

  • The new, more aggressive and more focused version of Davie Renluenn continued in this match. The man wanted a shot at Florida Bay Heavyweight Champion Nomad, and he would be damned if anyone was going to stand in his way.
  • With no posturing to the crowd or bad-mouthing of his opponent to distract him, Renluenn took control of this match from the very first bell and never gave it up.
  • Paradox fought hard, but couldn’t match a focused Davie Renluenn.
  • Davie Renluenn controlled the match throughout, building to a Forward Russian Legsweep that earned him the victory.

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Davie Renluenn defeated Paradox in 6:40 by pinfall with a Forward Russian Legsweep.

Rating:F+

Harvey Manners: “Another impressive performance from Davie Renluenn here tonight. You know that he’s not happy about being overlooked for tonight’s four way Main Event, and he really took out all of his frustrations on Paradox there…”

Eve Runcord: “Renluenn has certainly upped his game recently, and he definitely wants that shot at Nomad, but there are half a dozen other guys vying for that spot. It’s getting very crowded at the top of the card right now…”

Harvey Manners: “And here comes the man they’re all gunning for, the Florida Bay Heavyweight Champion Nomad!”

Nomad is out to a chorus of boos from then Florida Bay crowd, who clearly haven’t forgotten about his actions at the end of ‘Espionage’. Harvey Manners and Eve Runcord haven’t forgotten on commentary either, as they recap the events of last month’s Main Event as Nomad grabs a microphone from ringside.

Nomad: “At ‘Espionage’, Skip Beau came out to this ring and promised that he would take my title off of me… and yet here we are two weeks later, and I am still the Florida Bay Heavyweight Champion.”

The crowds booing resumes, not that it seems to bother Nomad too much…

Nomad: “At ‘Espionage’, Skip Beau said that I was ‘no champion’… and yet here I am two weeks later with the Florida Bay Heavyweight Championship over my shoulder… What I’m saying is that at ‘Espionage’, Skip Beau… couldn’t get the job done.”

Nomad’s declaration causes the crowds booing to intensify, a turn of events that Nomad seems to rather enjoy.

Nomad: “And that is the difference between Skip and I… I can get the job done between the ropes. Now you may not like the way I went about it at ‘Espionage’, but the bottom line is that I have this title over my shoulder and Skip Beau doesn’t. You can moan all you want about ‘rules’ and ‘fair play’, but during my travels around North America I’ve learned that if the referee doesn’t see it, then it ain’t illegal. That’s how the real world works… but you people are just like Skip Beau, too wrapped up in your fairytales of ‘good guys’ and ‘bad guys’ to realise it. And for as long as I’m the only one living in the real world, it doesn’t matter who… or how many… you throw in front of me, I’ll always find a way to get the job done.”

A smirk forms on Nomad’s face as he exits the ring to the boos of the Florida Bay crowd.

Rating: E

Harvey Manners: “No subtlety from Nomad there, he’s confident of holding on to his title tonight…”

Eve Runcord: “And unbelievably, he showed no remorse for his actions at ‘Espionage’. I hope somebody kicks his a$$ tonight…”

Paratroopers (Paradigm & Paranoia) vs Southern Hospitality (Joffy Laine & Tex Tagan)

  • This was a match that only served to further confirm Southern Hospitality’s hold over the Paratroopers, and somewhat substantiate their earlier claims that such matches were now below them.
  • Joffy Laine and Tex Tagan dominated the match throughout, using their superior size and strength to dominate their smaller opponents.
  • This match could probably have ended sooner, had Joffy Laine not decided to toy with his opponent and drag the punishment out a little longer.
  • Eventually it was left to Tex Tagan to, as he had done so many times before, deliver the killer blow with his vicious Lariat.

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Southern Hospitality defeated Paratroopers II in 7:55 when Tex Tagan defeated Paranoia by pinfall with a Lariat Clothesline.

Rating: E+

Harvey Manners: “An absolutely dominant display from the Texan boys there…”

Eve Runcord: “That was actually a little frightening. Whoever wins in our Main Event will have to know that Tex Tagan and Joffy Laine are coming after them… and that’s not a position I’d want to be in.”

Harvey Manners: “Such is the peril of being the Florida Bay Heavyweight Champion… but who will be the next beneficiary of some Southern Hospitality? Can Nomad overcome the odds, or will we see the crowning of a new Florida Bay Heavyweight Champion? Let’s find out in our four way Main Event!”

Alan Parent vs Cal Sanders vs Nomad © vs Skip Beau

Florida Bay Heavyweight Championship

  • Skip Beau goes after Nomad right from the bell, obviously after some revenge for how he was cheated out of the title at ‘Espionage’. The Canadian lands some heavy right hands that leave the champion reeling.
  • This leaves Cal Sanders and Alan Parent to brawl, with the ‘Leaping Lumberjack’ quickly dumping Parent to the outside. This left Nomad in the ring with the two men he had recently screwed out of title shots, and the numbers game quickly caught up with the champion.
  • The two men continue their beatdown of Nomad for a few minutes, before dumping the champion emphatically to the outside.
  • With Nomad out of the way, Sanders and Beau lock into a brief staredown… until Alan Parent jumps Skip Beau from behind.
  • Sanders quickly pulls Parent off of Beau, and the two faces work together to put the ‘Puroresu master’ to the mat. However this alliance quickly falls apart, with a wild Skip Beau Clothesline accidently catching Sanders instead of Parent (its intended target).
  • The three men brawl back and forth for a few minutes, and while all three men have periods of being in control, nobody ever quite does enough to get the win.
  • The seven minute mark of the match saw Nomad finally rejoin the match. Catching everyone off guard, Nomad is able to dump both Skip Beau and Alan Parent to the outside, after the two men had been brawling near the ropes. Kammy Ling immediately runs over to try and pull her client back to his feet.
  • Back in the ring, Nomad turns back to the action… right into a snap DDT from Cal Sanders! Sanders catching the champion off guard, having been down in the corner only moments ago. The ‘Leaping Lumberjack’ slowly, painfully pulls himself to the top rope… and connects with the Frog Splash! 1… 2… NO!
  • Kammy Ling has literally pushed her client back into the ring, and Alan Parent is able to break up the pinfall just in the nick of time. With Sanders prone after the broken up pinfall, Parent is able to take advantage and immediately lock in the Parental Lock in the middle of the ring.

Harvey Manners: “Parental Lock! He’s got it locked in. Nomad’s down after that Frog Splash, Beau’s on the outside… Alan Parent’s going to be champion!”

Eve Runcord: “This can’t happen! Fight it Cal! Don’t tap!”

  • Cal Sanders fights doggedly as he refuses to tap out… but he’s getting weaker. Parent keeps the hold locked in, and Sanders realizes he has no choice but to tap. He lifts his hand to tap and…. Skip Beau breaks the hold! Skip Beau recovered just in time to get back to the ring to make the save, and the Canadian wastes no time in dumping Alan Parent to the outside.

Eve Runcord: “Skip Beau broke the hold! He’s the last man standing, he’s going to be champion!”

  • Knowing Sanders is out, Beau signals an imaginary belt around his waist. He turns back to the ring to make the cover and… Drift Shift! Nomad has recovered and nailed Skip Beau with his finisher. 1… 2… 3, and Nomad retains his title!

In an extremely poor match, Nomad defeated Alan Parent, Cal Sanders and Skip Beau in 8:36 when Nomad defeated Skip Beau by pinfall with a Drift Shift. Nomad makes defence number 5 of his Florida Bay Heavyweight title.

Rating: D-

Eve Runcord: “No! How did Nomad manage to get out of that one?”

Harvey Manners: “I don’t know… he played almost no part in the match, spending almost the entirety knocked out on the floor outside the ring, but Nomad is… somehow… still the Florida Bay Heavyweight Champion.”

Eve Runcord: “I thought for sure we’d see a new champion tonight…”

Harvey Manners: “We may not like the way he conducts himself, but it’s hard to argue with Nomad when he says he gets the job done…”

Eve Runcord: “The numbers were meant to work against the champion, but in the end he made them work to his advantage.”

Harvey Manners: “We were so close to seeing Alan Parent named champ, Cal Sanders was a second away from tapping out when Skip Beau broke that hold! How will the ‘Puroresu Master’ react? Who’s next for Nomad? Make sure to join us next time to find out! Thank you for joining us, and goodnight!”

“Four times the fun”

‘Enhanced Interrogation’ was a show that started slowly, but built to a really explosive finish. I was worried that the four way Main Event may have been a risk, but the guys really did a great job and put on one of the best matches in the companies short history. I’d say only Cal Sanders and Joffy Laine’s match last month tops it... and at least I put the right match in the Main Event this time around...

However despite the success of the Main Event, I couldn’t help but feel some of the fans left the show disappointed. A lot of fans seemed to be expecting a title change tonight, and after the two teased finishes they seemed disappointed that Nomad was able to walk out as champion again. Still, maybe that’s just Nomad doing his job as a Heel? Either way, I have some fun stuff planned going forward, so hopefully we can win the fans back over...

--------------------------------------------------------------

OOC:

Thank you to everyone who read the show and took the time to predict. Sorry for the delay on the last couple of posts, an afternoon of sunshine caused work to panic that Summer had arrived... forgot we live in England *grumble grumble*... so I’ve had less free time than usual to work on this. I’m still enjoying writing this, and have some stuff which I think should be pretty fun planned, so while this may slow down slightly as we head into Summer it definitely isn’t coming to a stop. My aim is to get out at least one show a week, hopefully all the out of ring posts as well but we’ll see how it goes.

Predictions:

Michigan Hero – 36/46

Voeltzwagon – 34/46

Psycho Sam – 34/46

Croquemitaine – 29/35

Rickymex – 27/38

Midnightnick – 27/41

"Operation Lullaby"

Case Notes – Entry #16

Filed By: Ted McCulloch

Florida Bay International Pro Wrestling: Law Enforcement

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/Paranoia_zps3a6fd833.jpghttp://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/6229145/1024/CZCW/VS.jpghttp://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv237/Mukan_no_Teioh/XDW/CalSanders.jpghttp://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/jtlant/CalSanders_alt1jt.jpghttp://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/6229145/1024/CZCW/VS.jpghttp://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CanadianCrusher_zps6d0ecf6f.jpg

Paranoia vs Cal Sanders vs Canadian Crusher

‘Law Enforcement’ kicks off with an interesting triple threat match. Cal Sanders comes into the match on the back of coming up short in his fatal four way title match last time out. Despite losing out, will that multi-man match experience aid the Canadian in this one? Or will the size and strength of Canadian Crusher prove to be the decisive factor, as it has done so many times in the past? Or can Paranoia use the chaos usually associated with multi-man contests to pull off the upset, and pick up his first win in FBIPW? Join us at ‘Law Enforcement’ to find out...

Paradox vs Joffy Laine

While Joffy Laine has caused the Paratroopers all sorts of pain over the past few months, Paradox does hold a victory over the Texan. It’s a fact that eats at Joffy Laine, and ‘The Jackhammer’ is desperate to get a win back here to bring the record between these two back level.

Paradigm vs Alan Parent w/ Kammy Ling

At ‘Enhanced Interrogation’ Alan Parent looked to have the Florida Bay Heavyweight Championship won, but it was torn away from him meaning that instead of being in tonight’s Main Event he finds himself facing Paradigm. Will Parent be able to get his head focused on the match with Paradigm, or will last month’s championship lost distract the ‘Puwowesu Star’?

Skip Beau vs Davie Renluenn

Skip Beau was caught out at the last in the four way title match at ‘Enhanced Interrogation’, and has a difficult task to try and get things back on track with a win tonight as he faces Davie Renluenn. Renluenn finds himself on a three match winning streak, since he lost his last match with Skip. Davie believes he should be receiving title shots instead of people like Skip, and a win tonight would go some way to starting to add some weight to his claims...

Stanley Carpenter vs Nomad

Florida Bay Heavyweight Championship

After the chaos of his four way title defence last month, things should be a little more organised in Nomad’s title defence this month as he faces young Stanley Carpenter one on one. Nomad will be confident of getting the job done against Carpenter, who is yet to pick up a victory here in Florida Bay, but the youngster has put in some vastly improved performances in recent months. Can Carpenter go one better and pull of the ultimate upset, or will Nomad’s title reign continue marching on?

??? vs Tex Tagan

Number One Contenders Match for the Florida Bay Heavyweight Championship

The unbeaten Tex Tagan finally gets his wish, and has a chance to earn a shot at the Florida Bay Heavyweight Championship... but he has no idea who his opponent is. Paranoia vs Cal Sanders vs Canadian Crusher

- Not sure about this one but I like Cal and he's a good worker

Paradox vs Joffy Laine

- I'm counting on a "he's got your number" storyline going on

Paradigm vs Alan Parent

- Team Puwowesu must be appeased

Skip Beau vs Davie Renluenn

- tough call here, but I'm going to say Davie wins via some kind of shenanigans

Stanley Carpenter vs Nomad – Florida Bay Heavyweight Championship

- For once I'm confident the champion will retain :p

??? vs Tex Tagan - #1 Contenders Match

- I'd have gone for ??? if Tex wasn't an agent (and the booker wasn't slightly afraid of him)
