“So,” John Anderson says. “Nemesis got J.K. to bring in drug testing. And the first week that was going on, Sam Strong tests positive for steroids.</p><p> </p><p>

“And Peter Valentine tests positive for steroids.</p><p> </p><p>

“Well, we can't let anyone know that, can we?” He grins. “Of course, nobody can know about it is wrestler-speak for everybody knows.</p><p> </p><p>

“So all of a sudden, a bunch of guys are questioning Sam's booking. Peter Valentine's your closing image? What if this news gets out? Sam Strong has the belt? What if this news gets out? Wrestling's already had one steroid scandal. Can it survive another? Well, let's not even kid ourselves – yes, absolutely. Of course it can. But Hollyweird's new, and it's relying on Sam Strong because he hasn't built up anyone else enough yet. And most of us are on great contracts – so long as there's still a Hollyweird.</p><p> </p><p>

“People started getting very, very needy. People started speaking up, and Sam was getting pretty angry about that.</p><p> </p><p>

“Nemesis, man... Nemesis was laughing about it all. Not many 'roid merchants in the tag division.”</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>–</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trenchcoatbrigand/media/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/JimmyPower_zpsf9cfcc1c.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/JimmyPower_zpsf9cfcc1c.jpg</span></a></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Jimmy Power shrugs. “I got my contract thanks to Rip Chord, man,” he says. “I watched the backstage wars, but I didn't get involved, and you won't find many of Rip's picks for the roster who did. Every time you pick a side in a big political battle, it's a gamble. We stuck with Rip's side, because Rip had enough stroke to not get involved if he didn't want to.</p><p> </p><p>

“So nor did we. Rip picked me to work with the youngsters, get them some training – not that that was happening too much – but he picked me for a reason. Point of fact, everyone Rip brought in was brought in for a reason. No friends, no friends-of-friends – if Rip Chord got you a HGC contract, it was because he knew you could help.</p><p> </p><p>

“Rip backing us meant we weren't gonna just get canned. And if we're not gonna just get canned, then we can wait out this kind of BS.</p><p> </p><p>

“You understand, this isn't me saying we did nothing. Dirtsheets heard a lot of what happened in HGC, and I can say that wasn't me. But I can't say who it was. I don't know.”</p>

A busy, busy night this Tuesday, and wrestling fans will thank us for it - once again, we're going to show why Hollyweird is the only sane choice.</p><p> </p><p>

They're new arrivals in the big leagues who can be proud of their territorial and training heritage. They are Brent Hill and Bryan Holmes, <strong>The New Generation</strong> - but against the <strong>Tag Team Specialists</strong> they'll need every ounce of skill they can muster up.</p><p> </p><p>

Untouchables action continues in the second match as <strong>Troy Tornado</strong> steps up to the plate - and <strong>Monty Walker</strong> has agreed to make this a title match. The <strong>HGC International Championship</strong> is on the line!</p><p> </p><p>

After the last couple of weeks, the Untouchables have been faced with strife from Lady Melissa and the men she directs. And that's why <strong>Paul Steadyfast </strong>is due to go one-on-one with <strong>The Hype</strong> - and how much passion will there be in this one?</p><p> </p><p>

Rounding out the hour, <strong>Sam Strong</strong>'s <strong>World Heavyweight Championship</strong> is scheduled to be defended. His opponent? A Russian behemoth, the monster known as <strong>Krusher Karloff</strong>. Karloff is a new face to many HGC fans, and he's staked it all on beating Sam Strong to stay.</p><p> </p><p>

In tag team action a brawl that's almost sure to get out of control has been scheduled. The <strong>Black Serpent Cult</strong> face two of the men Charlie Homicide denies are associated with him - <strong>Genghis Rahn and The Insane Heat</strong>.</p><p> </p><p>

Another new arrival will be competing next - <strong>Jimmy Power</strong>'s opponent is the man known as the <strong>Black Cobra</strong>. What do we know about this stone-hearted competitor? Mostly that he has quite the reputation in Japan. But can the youngster get on the map with an immediate victory?</p><p> </p><p>

In tag team action to follow you'll see <strong>Mucha Lucha</strong> do battle with Mr Lucha's archrival <strong>Romeo Heartthrob</strong> - and the kamikaze cruiserweight <strong>Rocky Constantino</strong>!</p><p> </p><p>

And lastly, in the main event, the <strong>Powers of Hell</strong> once again seek to prove their tag team legitimacy - and they're facing the <strong>Blazing Flames</strong>!</p><p> </p><p>

Prediction Key:</p><p>

The Next Generation (Brent Hill & Bryan Holmes) vs. The Tag Team Specialists (Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford)</p><p> </p><p>

<em>I go with more established team.</em></p><p> </p><p>

HGC International Championship</p><p>

<strong>Monty Walker ©</strong> vs. Troy Tornado</p><p>

<em>It´s really hard for me to go against Troy here as I have to constantly remind myself that he isn´t big name just yet. </em><img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<em>not completely sure about this but I believe that Steadyfast is higher on pecking order.</em></p><p> </p><p>

HGC World Heavyweight Championship</p><p>

<strong>Sam Strong © </strong>vs. Krusher Karloff</p><p>

<em>Not much question on this one.</em></p><p>

</p><p><strong>

Black Serpent Cult (Cobra & Viper)</strong> vs. Genghis Rahn & the Insane Heat</p><p>

<em>Real team over random pairing.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Black Cobra vs. <strong>Jimmy Power</strong></p><p>

<em>Another hard one for me but like Tornado, I doubt Cobra is all that over in America.</em></p><p>

</p><p><strong>

Mucha Lucha (Electrico & Mr Lucha)</strong> vs. Rocky Constantino & Romeo Heartthrob</p><p>

<em>Again, named team over random pairing.</em></p><p> </p><p>

The Blazing Flames (Joey & Teddy Flame) vs. <strong>Powers of Hell (BLZ Bubb & Nemesis)</strong></p><p>

<em>Tough opponents for Powers of Hell but I still expect them to come out on top.</em></p>

As the dance comes to an end, Liberty comes out. He flips Miss Mexico a lazy salute, which she answers with a slight smile and an even lazier salute of her own.</p><p> </p><p>

“Alright,” he says, hitting the ring itself, “let's talk. Let's talk about Rip Chord, my friends.</p><p> </p><p>

“Now, I'm a peaceable enough man. Sure, I wrassle for a living – I wrassle other wrasslers, though. I don't pick fights.</p><p> </p><p>

“I don't tend to need to. Rip, though, you've gotta problem with me, and obviously it's, you know, a doozy, in the parlance of our times. And we've got to get it settled.</p><p> </p><p>

“That's OK, though. I'm getting closer every time, man. This, you know, this doozy will not stand.</p><p> </p><p>

“You gotta face facts, man. You know... I'm gonna get there.</p><p> </p><p>

“Or we can find some other way to settle this.</p><p> </p><p>

“So here's my idea, Rip. You say I don't have the brains for this business. And sure, it's taken me a while to come up with this – my thinking on this matter has been very opaque – but this is my idea.</p><p> </p><p>

“We both pick ourselves a tag team. Nobody famous. Nobody who already knows the business like we do.</p><p> </p><p>

“And we see if our minds for the business can give them the start they need.</p><p> </p><p>

“You think about it, anyway. I'm sure we're gonna fight again this month, but in time...”</p><p>

The Next Generation vs. The Tag Team Specialists</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

There's a great little match here that only a few people care about; the Specialists are on the biggest roll they've ever had, the newcomers have no real fanbase in the area – but they set about changing that, starting here; they take the fight to the Specialists in short order, and they do it inventively and effectively.</p><p> </p><p>

They're just not as effective – nor anywhere near as unified -as the Specialists, and if you can't unite as well as the Specialists they're going to use that against you, and they're going to do so well. Oxford's the one who gets the win, off a top rope kneedrop to Bryan Holmes – but Bryant's invaluable, keeping Brent Hill from breaking it up.</p><p>

Again, there isn't as much of the crowd present for this as might be hoped, though Walker's faithful are there and happy to be there; Tornado does well, too, but this is Walker's match and his backflip leg lariat ends it easily in his favour.</p><p> </p><p>

The champion retains.</p><p>

The camera spends a long time staring out of a jagged, glassless, half-framed 'window' at diseased trees and disused road. Every five seconds, there's a sudden loud pop audible.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trenchcoatbrigand/media/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/KarenKiller_alt_zpsda0c9369.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/KarenKiller_alt_zpsda0c9369.jpg</span></a></div><p></p><p></p><p>

After a while, the camera starts to pan slowly around. The pops are revealed, at length, to be the result of Karen Killer indolently blowing bubbles with her gum, staring off at the ceiling with glazed, perhaps drugged eyes.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trenchcoatbrigand/media/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/CharlieHomicide_zps8a26f2a6.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/CharlieHomicide_zps8a26f2a6.jpg</span></a></div><p></p><p></p><p>

She nestles in to the shoulder of Charlie Homicide, whose free hand holds a small switchblade which he repeatedly pops open and closed as he begins to talk, eyes burning into the camera, into the viewer.</p><p> </p><p>

“We've nearly made a man,” he purrs cheerfully. “Karen and I felt you could be bettered, Junior, and we have bested you – but we have also bettered you.</p><p> </p><p>

“The trouble is the animals... because as a man becomes a man, animals are spooked. Some run, but some hunt. And you are hunted now, Junior. Hunted by the angry and by the violent. By the brutal and the calculating. Animals range from the savagely blunt to the almost human, Junior, and the proudest of all stripes pit themselves against you.</p><p> </p><p>

“It would be easy to be scared now. But if you do, you fall at the final obstacle. You do not become a man and you trip – and the moment you trip, the hounds will be on you. Not only will you never be a man, but you die...</p><p> </p><p>

“And we're so close, Junior. You might even understand me, soon. And then? Then all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.”</p><p> </p><p>

Another video sequence begins; a wrestling ring under the hot sun, dusty scrubland around it, in the back yard of a large white stucco house. Two teenagers, one in shorts, the other in sports bra and track pants, are in the ring. The girl snaps off a huracanrana on her brother; looking to capitalise, she's met with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker.</p><p> </p><p>

“Excelente,” comes a voice from offscreen. The camera pans around to reveal the rest of the family; the proud matriarch, beautiful with the first grey hairs just beginning to show; a young child playing with a wooden train at her feet; seated beside her in his luchador mask is her husband.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><a href="http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trenchcoatbrigand/media/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/MrLuchaIII_zps35ef880c.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/MrLuchaIII_zps35ef880c.jpg</span></a></div><p></p><p></p><p>

“The mask is respect,” Mr Lucha says. “You see my family here. They are recognisable, because my name is known. But the mask stays, because it is the culture here that the mask remains on in public.</p><p> </p><p>

“I live here, among the culture of lucha libre. But thanks to the generosity of young Mr Stallings, I wrestle north of our border, where things are different.</p><p> </p><p>

“The mask stays, because the mask is how I respect that culture. But in America, wrestlers are not sworn off from certain moves we in Mexico find to be a risk. Here, a luchador does not drop their opponent – no, not even their sworn enemy – on their head; not if that luchador has any honour at all.</p><p> </p><p>

“There, it is an occupational hazard. Romeo Heartthrob has chosen to criticise my acceptance of this while I wrestle there.</p><p> </p><p>

“Romeo, you are no luchador. You are no honourable warrior. I cannot give you respect, for each time you cheat to win, each time you cheat for a night of passion, you make it impossible.</p><p> </p><p>

“But you seek to say the same is true of me – and that, sir, I will not allow.</p><p> </p><p>

“When in America, I do as Americans do, because I respect that your country has the right to do things differently.</p><p> </p><p>

“You will not defame me, signore. You will <em>not</em>-”</p><p> </p><p>

His wife puts a hand gently on his, and Mr Lucha nobly restrains himself from his rising anger. He nods his thanks to her.</p><p> </p><p>

“You and I, signore, we shall not see eye to eye, I think. And I think you envy me not my title, but you envy me what I have...</p><p> </p><p>

Black Serpent Cult vs Genghis Rahn & The Insane Heat</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The Cult are fired up, but their opponents are younger, resilient, hungry, and violent in a way the Cult aren't used to.</p><p> </p><p>

There's a definite age gap showing by the end, with Heat in particular showing remarkable speed at moments. But while these hardcore mavens are dangerous, they're also finding it difficult to stay within the confines of the match. Viper capitalises when Rahn grabs a chair then realises his mistake; he hits the Dragon's Breath, then rolls him into the ring for the pin.</p><p>

<em>Texas Tattoo</em> begins to play, which as always means Cowboy Ricky Dale is on his way out to the ring. He's got a mic held casually in hand as he walks down the ramp, high-fiving the fans, stopping for a moment to chat with a fan in a worn-out, faded TWL T-shirt before moving on to the ring. He detours for a moment, placing his stetson on a kid's head at ringside, then climbs into the ring itself.</p><p> </p><p>

“Peter Valentine,” he begins, “I b'lieve y'all ain't shown you're worth my time or my effort.” Raucous agreement from the fans combines with stunned amazement that he's being so frank.</p><p> </p><p>

“But y'all gonna get it,” he continues, offering an attractive young blonde near the camera a wink and a grin.</p><p> </p><p>

“I see the way the wind blows. I see I ain't done with you until I run you off with your tail between your legs. Much as y'all ain't interested in no stand-up fight, y'all ain't chickens**t enough to get out of wrestling.” And now the crowd are really behind him. They're chanting that three-syllable word over and over.</p><p> </p><p>

Black Cobra vs. Jimmy Power</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Speed of technique versus strength of technique; it's something that's often debated, and accompanying the match is a rebirth of that same debate as the ring demonstrates why; Black Cobra wrestles “almost as well as a Stone” as Azaria points out. </p><p> </p><p>

Jimmy Power has a few less frills to his arsenal, but it's dangerous nonetheless – as he proves, when he locks down a backbreaker that makes the Cobra tap.</p><p>

Mucha Lucha vs. Rocky Constantino & Romeo Heartthrob</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Not a bad little match – everyone involved puts in the effort, but unfortunately the crowd only care about two of the men involved.</p><p> </p><p>

Electrico and Constantino are definitely willing, and they're also both innovative fighters in different directions, but they don't have the exposure they might – and as Constantino yells in a protest, while clutching it, the luchador could be said to have a stupid mask.</p><p> </p><p>

That fires up Electrico, who sends him out of the ring with four punches and a dropkick before sending Heartthrob out to join him by countering his hammerlock. Lucha tags in and flies over the top himself, crashing down on them both, and pinning Rocky once he's back in the ring.</p><p>

The Blazing Flames vs. The Powers of Hell</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The heart of Teddy Flame doesn't seem to be in this one, though the brothers still take it to the new tag team as only they can, notably hitting Nemesis with a stereo superkick that sends him over the top rope and down to the outside.</p><p> </p><p>

Teddy seems to wake up at that; the prospect of victory is clearly inspiring to him. He follows up with a huge moonsault press – only for Bubb to catch him out of the air and slam him. Joey breaks it up with a baseball slide, but the moment is gone, and when Joey escapes from Bubb, Teddy isn't on the apron – he's sprawled on the outside trying to shake some sense back into his head, or so it seems.</p><p> </p><p>

The Hades Bomb on Joey finishes the contest.</p><p>

Joey Flame chuckles. “The Redwood line, it was,” he says. “I took a lot of heat for that at the time, but it was a line Todd fed me as a suggestion when everyone was hanging out backstage.

“I figured he was just ribbing Redwood. I said the line, we finished rolling, Sam bursts out laughing.

“Two nights later, Dread's got Sam by the throat and up against a wall in the back at a house show.”

Monty rolls his eyes. “Never bet with Todd Cusson,” he says. “Over time I lost a year's worth of my DaVE paydays drinking and betting with him. The man is devious.

“We were needling our targets til they went off on Sam – we figured we could do that easy enough. Nobody paid attention to Todd and Sam didn't care about any title that wasn't the World Heavyweight, so we knew we were out of sight. But Todd did some needling on screen.

“Turns out Dread cares a lot about what goes out on screen. And Redwood – Dread was about the only guy in the world back then who gave two s**ts about Redwood, 'cept for Redwood. Him losing is one thing. Him being a punchline, Dread wasn't happy with. And as it turned out, that wasn't the only improvised line that night that caused s**t.”

Brent Hill grins. “My first week, I had second thoughts... for about five minutes. You've got to remember that when there's trouble among the boys, responsibility for sorting it falls to two people. The booker, and the champion.

“So when they're the same guy and he's the guy having trouble, then solving it falls to him. I'd been the champ at Philly Pro, I'd been the champ at Rapid Pro, and here I was in HollyWeird as one of Nemesis' chosen. He'd called me up personally, done the same with Sherlock, and he'd told us that the mid-range goal was for us to develop into an attraction on a level with the Flames. That was ballsy talking, but I was happy to listen.

“And I wasn't in the division Strong was booking, so I could relax. I didn't even watch the fight. The fight's not the important thing.

“See, it goes like this. You threaten the booker somehow. He either compensates you for that – gives you some kind of payoff – or he shuts you down. Most times he shuts you down to make sure nobody else tries it.

“Some times he can't, because sometimes you're a draw like Dread, or on a legend size salary... like Dread.

“But if you knuckle under too far, people still start looking for ways to get around you.”

“Someone was screwing around backstage with a camcorder. I say someone,” the Hype clarifies, “because I don't know whose it was; you leave a camcorder around near wrestlers with blank tape, you get back five minutes of butt, three minutes of balls, twenty minutes of Sam Strong impressions, twelve minutes of referees doing Sam Strong impressions, one seventeen-minute spoof of a Rip Chord backstage speech, two minutes of borderline illegal acts, one minute of actual illegal acts, twelve ribs, and whatever time's left on the tape will be taken up with various forms of pandemonium.

“So you can watch the fight online – it got digitised in about 2007 – or on a bunch of rare trade tapes. But basically, Sam and Dread squared off, postured a bit, Dread threatened Sam, Sam blew Dread off, Dread tried to choke him, Sam busted out some actual wrestling to escape, then Dread knocked him out cold with one punch.

“And I made two hundred bucks.” He shrugs. “I'm like, who cares? If Sam works it out I've still got a contract. My push had already melted away. I'm out nothing. Back then, most of my effort was going on beating the random drug tests.”

<strong>Hardcore</strong> competition starts us off this week - <strong>Richie Pangrazzio Jr</strong> is once again set to face <strong>The Insane Heat</strong>!</p><p> </p><p>

It's far from an all-hardcore night, however, and after a tough debut loss, the <strong>Next Generation</strong> will do battle with <strong>Savage Fury</strong>. Just what is the ceiling on these guys?</p><p> </p><p>

Sweet, sweet <strong>April</strong> steps into the ring with the Runway Train,<strong> Ashley Amazon</strong>. But who'll walk out?</p><p> </p><p>

Even the shadow of fear may have to step up his game! <strong>Dread</strong> does battle with a team - the duo of the <strong>Human Arsenal and Mario Heroic</strong>.</p><p> </p><p>

Lastly, the unlikely duo of<strong> Liberty and Whistler</strong> pose a powerful combination. Just as unlikely are their opponents, <strong>Charlie Homicide and Rip Chord</strong>. Brace yourself, because this one will be brutal...</p><p> </p><p>

HARDCORE MATCH

Richie Pangrazzio Jr w/ Coach Dick Pangrazzio vs. The Insane Heat

I just don´t trust Heat enough to have him win even in a match that is right on his playing field.

The Next Generation (Brent Hill & Bryan Holmes) vs. Savage Fury (Java & Tribal Warrior)

No doubt that Next Generation is more talented team and have better future but at this point I still see Savage Fury being the more established team in HGC.

April vs. Ashley Amazon w/ Dream Girl

Amazon seems to be the one who gets most time on the spotlight so guess she gets the win here again.

The Blazing Flames (Joey & Teddy Flame) vs. The Tag Team Specialists (Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford)

Normally IKwould go with Flames even though they already lost to Specialists once before but Flames seems to be breaking up soon so might as well continue that here.

#1 Contendership - Cruiserweight Championship

Black Cobra vs. Electrico vs. Fumihiro Ota vs. Ramon Paez

I avoid picking Electrico with his partner being the champ so I figure it´s between Cobra and Ota. I wouldn´t mind either one getting a shot but I figure that Cobra is more important thanks to his name value.

HANDICAP MATCH

Dread vs. Human Arsenal & Mario Heroic

Hard to call Human Arsenal and Heroic as jobbers knowing what they will be in the future but right now they not up to the task even in handicap match.

Cowboy Ricky Dale vs. Frankie Future

Ricky Dale isn´t yet the legend he will become but he´s already pretty high on the card and certainly better than Future.

Charlie Homicide & Rip Chord w/ Karen Killer vs. Liberty & Whistler

I agree with Regis, Whistler kind of looks like a weak link here.
