Duh. Hot chick.

The Darkness Warriors (Jay & Raul Darkness) vs. J.J. Coles & Lucas Hale

Because screw Raul; Jay at least had that one crazy chemistry run with Sammy Bach.

DaVE Tag Championships

Raymond Diaz & ???? vs. Dan DaLay & Tommy Cornell

The question is: is Vibert ballsy enough to draw DaLay or Cornell as Diaz's partner?

Also, WHY YOU DO THIS WRIGHT WE LOVED YOUR TAG TEAM!

So voting against Diaz is stupid, but I love him mainly for his epic gaijin team. But we're in the states. But, however, he's still Diaz.

Tornado has been sucking in my diary, so dammit, I'm going to penalize him here. 16 years earlier. This is the match that broke him.

- I am tempting to pick the Trademark but I cannot in good faith bet against the Fabulous One.

The Darkness Warriors (Jay & Raul Darkness) vs. J.J. Coles & Lucas Hale

- The Darkness Fonzarellis for the victory! Plus, Coles and Hale sound like a discount book chain.

Michael Cook vs. Vin Tanner

- I have a soft spot... in my head... for EverGrumpy Vin Tanner.

Death Metal (Death & Metal) w/ Professor Nero vs. Troy Tornado & ????

- This time I won't bet against ????... especially as Death Metal are more likely Dead Lead.

Brightly coloured wristbands trailing streamers, brown leather jacket betassled, Eddie Chandler starts heading to the ring; the personification of the kind of wrestling DaVE fans stand foursquare against.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/DaVE%20Guys/EmmaChase_alt4_zpsf468b014.jpg

Beside him is Easy Emma, who has a microphone with her, ready.

“Take a good look,” she says. “The fabulous one – the man you cannot equal.

“Thomas Morgan is a fine figure of a man. He's strong. He's athletic. He's...” She smiles.

“He's no match. But tonight... after the match... I might just lick better everywhere on my Eddie he hurts.” She runs her eyes over the crowd.

“...Yeah,” she says after a pause. “Still no one out there who'd even count as a downgrade.”

Eddie Chandler w/ Easy Emma vs. Thomas Morgan

Thomas Morgan continues to give a good fight, but Eddie has the slight advantage throughout.

She's on the outside, not wearing much, but she's enough to turn the tide several times, allowing Eddie, finally, to lock down the Fabulous Stretch, forcing Morgan to tap out.

The Darkness Warriors vs. J.J. Coles & Lucas Hale

DaVE's two young hopefuls pitted against the creepiest of its tag teams; it's not a great shot that the hopefuls have, and the fans are less than interested. They perk up a little when Jay Darkness isolates Lucas Hale and scores with the Endless Night – but is that because they wanted to see the win, or just because the contest's over?

Michael Cook vs. Vin Tanner

Cook has yet to build a following among the DaVE crowd, but this match might help, somewhat; stalwart Vin Tanner coaxes a surprisingly good performance out of him, allowing the crowd to think Cook might do this, might win – but the V for Victory high-angle spinebuster seals the deal in the end, Cook crashing down headfirst onto a steel chair.

Vibert stands up from the announce desk. “If I could just have your attention,” he says, “it's time we began.

“Ray Diaz, your buddy Lee Wright don't seem at all interested in showing up. He's injured; whatever. He says the hospitals are better in Japan, whatever. But-”

At this point Raymond Diaz emerges on the ramp, eyeing Phil up. Vibert falters, but only for a moment.

“Don't even try it, Ray. Your buddy's cost you your title. He's cost you respect around here. But let me do you a favor, Ray. Let me give you a new shot for the title... with someone new.”

Diaz grows closer. Vibert smiles.

“Random draw, Ray.” He stoops, drawing a box out from within the announce table. “Let's see who you -”

Diaz piefaces him, deadpan, and makes the draw himself. He looks at the scrap of paper, then shrugs, flicking it at Mitch Naess.

“Hey!” Mitch says excitedly. “It's Roy Stephens, everybody!”

Diaz climbs into the ring to await his partner and his opponents as Vibert, spluttering, regains his seat at the announce desk.

American Monsters vs. Dan DaLay & Tommy Cornell

Naess dubs the random pairing the American Monsters as the School of Tradition pairing square off with them.

Cornell outwrestles Roy for most of the match; DaLay and Diaz trade big power moves. The contest could go either way – and yet, at the end, it surprises the fans. Diaz sends DaLay out of the ring with a power lariat; Cornell takes him down with an armbar; Stephens rolls Cornell into a pinfall and the ref notches up all three!

They don't get more than a few moments, though; the Wolverine hits Diaz from behind, furious, laying him out. Stephens takes a swing at him, but the Wolverine ducks it, then hits him with a huge football tackle on the rebound.

Vibert and Naess speculate on why the Wolverine would want to target a tag team like that as he stalks from the ring.

Fyte vs. Henry Lee

A long-awaited rematch, and Lee still bears a faint scar on his forehead from Derek Barnes' attack last month. But these two have history of their own, and it looks like they're finally going to get down to it...

Fyte dominates, but Lee is playing a savvy game; he's not willing to allow strikes near his head, and he unleashes plenty of his own. Fyte tries a facebuster, but Henry twists clear, knocking him down with a boot – and then there's a strange sound, a freakish, almost distorted cackling.

As Henry Lee mounts his downed opponent, whaling on him with a chair, it becomes clear just how much the madman is enjoying himself, how much punishment he's willing to unleash – and to the fascinated horror of the audience, he draws blood.

Chris Caulfield vs. Monty Walker

The chair is suspended above the ring; one of only two weapons that can be legal in this match, along with the ladder. Walker and Caulfield pay no attention for the first few minutes, going at each other hammer and tongs before the ladder comes into play.

When it does, things rapidly start to turn in the Python's favour, moving away from the control of the Hardcore American.

Monty ultimately claims the chair, starting the fans up on their friendly “YOU-SOLD-OUT! YOU-SOLD-OUT!” chant, and immediately throws it to Caulfield, who catches it – only to take a double-footed stomp, chair-augmented, to the face as Monty comes off the ladder, pinning for victory.

There is, after Walker and Caulfield leave, a longish pause, a long silence. After nearly a minute, Phil Vibert flatly says “****ing amateurs,” and rises from the announce desk, heading toward the backstage area.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/DaVE%20Guys/DerekBarnes_zps40ef6d32.jpg

“We had Troy Tornado and his 'untouchable' friend scheduled to approach the ring at this time,” Naess supplies, before Derek Barnes appears in the entrance. Vibert stops dead halfway up the ramp, looking worried – and no wonder; Barnes is holding a tyre iron, and it appears to be dripping with oil.

He grins.

“A match a month,” he says. “I warned you.

“Tornado never made it to the arena tonight.”

Barnes stares at Vibert, who looks back at him for a long moment, then turns, heading back to the announce desk.

“You know the price, Phil!” Barnes shouts. “You know the price!”

Eric Tyler vs. Freddie Datsun w/ Miss Bliss

With a certain regret to his tone, Phil Vibert calls to the backstage boys to skip a match, and Eric Tyler comes out first to the fans' derision before Freddie Datsun heads down, Miss Bliss on his arm, idly flexing the fingers of his free hand inside knuckledusters.

He's here to fight, and Eric is here to wrestle, and the two combine into something well worth watching, something which has the crowd cheering from the off. Tyler hammers Datsun; Datsun fires back; Tyler threatens Bliss; Bliss punches Tyler. The circle of life continues.

Freddie tries for the Patriot Lift, only for Eric to rake his eyes. In the ensuing scuffle, the brass knucks change hands; Tyler doesn't go for the low blow the fans expect, though, instead hitting Datsun in one shoulder, then the other, with scientific precision.

And then he applies the Tradition Lift, putting extra stress on those injured shoulders, guaranteeing the submission.

Johnny Martin © vs. JD Morgan w/ Phil Vibert

This match isn't like the prior contest. There's no personal animosity here; the brutality is cruel, calculating, and all about the gold.

They use the steel of the cage well, both men willing to put their body on the line for an advantage, or even a strong enough chance of an advantage. It's close – it's far too close – with these two men exactly evenly matched. On any given night... you wouldn't know how to call it.

After the first couple of attempts at a Twist on the Rocks, Morgan seems to get sick of the risk. He goes low, doubling Johnny Martin over, and grabs him in tight, nailing an exploder suplex into the cage wall. The Cross-Atlantic Stretch follows – and allows JD Morgan to earn another championship reign!

In stark contrast to how he appeared when confronted with Barnes or with Diaz, Phil Vibert is ecstatic. He leaps up and down, fists waving in the air, then grabs the belt away from the timekeeper and wrenches at the referee unlocking the cage, storming in to present Morgan with the belt.

“FINALLY!” he calls into the microphone. “I did you all a favour.

Nemesis laughs. “Yeah, we threatened to sue Phil for advertising an Untouchable teaming with Troy. Of course we did. And J.K. wanted to, but we talked him out of it. Actually screwing with DaVE was not in me and Tommy's plans, not at all.

“...Man, it's refreshing being far enough beyond that we can actually talk about this. I thought it was a great little idea; the lawsuit threat covered our involvement a little longer, it kept DaVE looking outlaw, we didn't have to loan an Untouchable, which we'd never have done, because of the Derek Barnes thing.

“I'm going to go on record about this pretty clearly now. Tommy and me... I didn't pick him at random. When we went out and had that match, it was because he deserved fast-tracking to the top. Most wrestlers reach their peak around forty; they can still go if they've kept themselves in shape, and their mind for the business has developed to the point their matches and angles take a leap up in quality.

“At eighteen, Tommy was about where I normally expect a thirty-five-year-old who's approaching the main event to be.

“I was selfish. I wanted to work Tommy properly while he was still in his prime. Afterward, in the argument, in the fallout...” He chuckles wryly, shaking his head. “Let's just say it was really clear quite how much we had in common.

“We made a pact. We were going to quietly go to war with wrestling as it had been – not because we had no respect for that, but because it wasn't working. Fans had been leaving through the early nineties, and it was time to bring them back.

“Thank God, that war's pretty much over. I think...” He takes a deep breath and raps his knuckles twice on the desk. “We pretty much stole a lot of your money to do it, J.K., but we saved American wrestling.”

–

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/DaVE%20Guys/EricTyler_alt_zps808b994a.jpg

“We had a war to fight,” Eric Tyler says simply. “I still say Nemesis was wrong. We'd lost fans because we'd done stupid things, not because the old ways didn't work. DaVE was never about changing the wrestling business before Tommy really started to take hold, and thank f**k I was Jiminy Cricketing him too, or things could've gone badly wrong.

“Plumbers. Race car drivers. F**king dentists. Even a kid's going to dismiss that.

“DaVE was about doing the best we could with the people we had. Some of us, that was working hardcore. Some of us, that was, therefore, about working people who worked hardcore. We wanted to put out good wrestling, and that meant doing our best with everyone we had.

“But it was a war, and we needed to win to stay afloat. So we took Hollyweird's support and Nemesis' blood money.

“And for years there it was dancing girls and Viagra on a pole and s**t.”

The Tag Team Specialists got the biggest win of their career to date last week, toppling the Blazing Flames. Now they look to keep their momentum going against the Spirit Warriors - another duo who've shocked their opponents with skill lately.

Genghis Rahn has been furious since losing to Richie Pangrazzio Jr. Can he keep his head together for the duration of a match? If so, it's bad news for Ramon Paez, but the young high-flier may capitalise if Rahn loses it.

Tom Gilmore has been making waves in matches lately, but he keeps coming up on the losing end. That doesn't seem likely to cease this Tuesday - as he faces BLZ Bubb - but if Gilmore gets the win here, digging down and finding an elemental fury, everything will change.

At the top of the hour, the HGC Tag Team Championships will be defended, as the Vessey Brothers offer the One Percenters a shot, an opportunity built from respect.

Romeo Heartthrob continues to wrestle the smaller worker rather than the larger. His target this week is rookie sensation Mario Heroic, a man making his big-league debut. Can Heroic upset the legendary lothario?

Reese gets her chance to shine on the big stage. Her opponent, fellow HollyWeird girl Victoria. Victoria's already lost once, but the Heart of Stone will be looking to avenge that...

Richie Pangrazzio Jr demanded a match against the man who attacked and bloodied him last week - Saionji Omura. Omura wouldn't agree unless it was hardcore; Pangrazzio wouldn't allow him hardcore. Shane Sneer has compromised; the match will be contested under Relaxed Rules.

Lastly, in the main event, we revisit once again HollyWeird's first ever match, as Cowboy Ricky Dale looks to topple Rip Chord...

Spirit Warriors vs. Tag Team Specialists

Once again, the fledgling tag division starts to get fans' attention even at the lower tiers. The Specialists surprised fans last week; this week their strong performance is less surprising, though while the Spirit Warriors try to win fans to their side, that doesn't go as well as it might. Bryant ultimately counters some fine flying by Golden Fox into the One Shot Drop, notching up a pinfall.

Genghis Rahn vs. Ramon Paez

It's power and intensity pitted against speed and enthusiasm here. Arizona native Rahn seems periodically frustrated, occasionally halting mid-strike. It takes Rhodes to pick up, eventually, on why; he's instinctively going for strikes which are, outside the loosened constraints of a hardcore match, or at least Relaxed Rules, illegal.

Paez is able to capitalise on this well, flying like a natural. He hits a wild spinning elbow off the top rope, getting a very close two-count, only to immediately be punched down to the floor and hit with the Rahn To The Hills, which ends the contest abruptly.

BLZ Bubb vs. Tom Gilmore

Gilmore is a talented wrestler, and one Jason Azaria is enthusiastic about; and he has to be, because Gilmore doesn't get to show much of what he can do here. Bubb dominates, only occasionally slipping – and when he does, Gilmore doesn't get much out of it, save for one huge, shocking spinebuster.

Still, the attention of the crowd stays absolutely rooted to the match, and by the time the Hades Bomb ends the contest, the fans are pretty happy.

Takin Care Of Business begins to play next. Shane Sneer emerges, as is bound to happen once that tune has hit, heading with a brisk purpose to the ring.

“Right,” he says. “Dread, you're backstage, I ordered it. Strong, you're backstage, I ordered it. Let's get you both out here, shall we?”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/Dread_alt1_zps62531a06.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/Everybody%20Knows/HGC%20Guys/SamStrong_agerY3_zpse7368410.jpg

There's a pause before either emerges, Dread coming out first. Sneer looks at both levelly as they stand at the entryway, some distance apart.

“I have something in mind to settle your fight once and for all,” Shane says. “I was asked to find something that'd do that better than a cage match, and I have.”

Strong nods approval; Dread merely smiles.

“However,” he continues, “it's going to take some time to put together, boys. Nothing I can do about it – I've got the professionals in and they're working away, but this just isn't a thing that can be done and tested inside a month.

“So, this month, what I want you both to do is, I want you both to pick three allies, and we'll have us an elimination tag match. You can take it out on each other with some others there as a way to keep it a damn wrestling match.” Strong opens his mouth; Sneer holds up his hand. “Save it,” he says. “You want your war ended, and I'm ending your damn war. But the kid genius is paying me to give these fans a show, too.

“Come on, Sam – surely you can find friends more easily than Dread?”

The One Percenters w/ Lady Melissa

A startlingly good display; this is about as good as the Percenters have looked since arriving, and the match is a great display for up-and-coming Bryan Vessey as he hangs with the veterans.

The issue, such as it is, is that Kyle Rhodes is fixated on Lady Melissa's presence at the Percenters' side – the match is, at times, lost in speculation as to what that means, although the Sick Cycle Larry hits to level the Night Rider and guarantee a pinfall does get its full respect.

Romeo Heartthrob heads out before his match, mic in hand.

“It's good to see those few, precious, rare ladies who are worthy of me in attendance tonight,” he begins. “And I will spare a thought for those many, many ladies who do not deserve to feel their heart... throb.

“But we'll get to you soon, ladies... and don't worry. It'll live up to the... anticipation.

“But last week, I was at the desk there next to those two putrid piles of alleged DNA,” he points at the announce table, “and I saw Mr Lucha – the man you're all cheering – drop a man on his head.

“So it's a piledriver, you're saying. So big deal. Yeah, I can see that. But where he comes from, it's illegal.

“The man was trying to cheat. And yet you cheer him... and despite the ladies out there feeling their hearts... throb... you boo me.

“Oh, we all know why the men boo me. But the ladies... are falling for a false image.

“Mr Lucha broke one of the unwritten rules. It's like walking up to a man and a woman and ruining the man's chances... on purpose.

“And I cannot believe you're willing to cheer that.”

Mario Heroic vs. Romeo Heartthrob

Mario Heroic is a new face for the HGC public, but based on this showing he'll be a favourite soon enough. The airborne display gets the crowd's attention, but Heartthrob is a wily competitor, and once he's shut Heroic down, it's pretty brutal.

Worked over and aching, Heroic is eventually locked into the Cupid's Clutch – and he taps out fast.

The camera backstage is currently in the cafeteria area. The Flames appear to be playing poker with the Hype and the Human Arsenal over beers and, in the case of Teddy Flame, BBQ ribs.

“...this Sam Strong deal,” the Hype is saying. “No chance he'd ask me or Johnny here,” Arsenal looks a little irritated at the casual use of his name, “of course, but you guys – you could totally be on Team Strong, the end of the month.”

Joey grins. “Yeah, that's something I'd been thinking,” he says. “We're kinda at a loose end right now.”

Teddy grunts, nodding. “Not gonna get a title shot for a while. 'Specially not after we lost last week.”

Joey takes a swig of his beer, looking away, and nods. “Yeah,” he says. “This gets us a payday, at least.

“Speaking of which, call.” He throws a couple of chips in. Arsenal purses his lips, then nods. “Call.”

“All in,” Teddy says simply. The others look around and fold, throwing their cards onto the table in disgust, and Teddy rakes the chips in. Joey checks Teddy's hand; his eyes widen in surprise, but the camera cuts away before any comment can happen.

The first HollyWeird Girls match not to feature Ashley Amazon is also a pretty good contest. Victoria and Reese seem to specialise in mat wrestling, but the transitions are smooth and innovative.

Victoria ultimately ends it by switching gear, hitting a German suplex and holding on to secure the pin.

Cowboy Ricky Dale vs. Rip Chord

On the announce table throughout this contest, the wise(ass) words of Peter Valentine. Valentine's definitely no fan of Ricky Dale, although he has virtually nothing good to say about Chord.

The match itself is a demonstration of will-to-win pitted against sheer knowledge. Chord has a smile on his face in the early going, as Ricky Dale tries to outwrestle him, only to be stymied as Chord has a counter for everything. This playing-with-him era ends swiftly, however, when Ricky clearly loses his patience and starts throwing punches.

Rip can block, and Rip can and does move surprisingly fast, trying to evade, but everything Dale does is powerful, and everything takes its toll, even when it's partly blocked. Rip's smile disappears and the match becomes an earnest one.

“Well, he's learning,” Azaria comments. “Ricky's not going to just put on a show and hope that's enough to beat Chord this time. He's going to take the fight to him.”

“Not that it'll matter,” Valentine snorts. “Rip Chord's a two-bit Peter Valentine knockoff, but hey, at least he's worth two bits.”

Two bits – or maybe the count of three; the Rip Chord DDT comes out of seemingly nowhere, a hammerlock sequence putting an abrupt end to Dale's hopes for payback.

Charlie Thatcher is in the ring just a couple of moments after the win, hitting Dale with a huge legdrop, then dragging him upright, whipping him toward the ropes and nailing a massive running big boot.

Only then does Peter Valentine join in, hammering Cowboy Ricky Dale with punches as Thatcher holds the bruised and battered Texan. The referees are just starting to split the brawl up as Azaria and Rhodes sign off.
