The whole online intro seems to have so many problems. I tried for a couple of hours last night and couldn't get anywhere. Now trying again this morning, but so far no luck... it's taken about 6 goes just to get other players spawning in the parking lot. Once you get through the initial bottleneck, it all seems fine... on of my work colleagues got on last night, completed the race and a few "missions" and he's up and running again today. Only annoying thing is the lack of mic's made it extremely hard to play with each other online. Does anyone know, will any Bluetooth mic work on the PS3? Besides me has anyone else on here got pass it? Got in this morning not too long after last posting. Won the race, did the drug run with Lamar, but then the deathmatch that followed crashed on the loading screen - I went back to dashboard and restarted, went into storymode and saw the fourth segment of the character wheel was now available, picked it and it's been working fine since. I've rejoined about 4 times and switched sessions without any problems. The only issue I have had is that if I try and join a session a friend in is, I just seem to get a 'not compatible' message. Not sure whether that means the session they're in is full or if it's just a bit glitchy. I'm only rank 6 at the moment, but I've got a decent wedge of cash in the bank and I'm going to pick up an SMG soon. A little tip for anyone not aware, but if you're a Social Club member, head to Ammunation and collect your free saw-off shotgun. A guy tried to rob the clothes store I was in just after joining, turned his pistol on me so I blew him away. So far free roam hasn't been too bad. I've only had one person aimlessly ramming me, but I managed to lose him pretty easily by driving towards other players. I'm glad you can bank your cash using the phone, but I wish there was some sort of split screen or quick exit when using it, because it leaves you really vulernable. Sadly I've noticed that some of the in-game unlocks encourage PvP killing (for instance, there's a tattoo that requires you to kill other players during races), so you can expect it to happen from time to time. Completed a couple of small co-op missions including a Vargo one with 3 other guys, no mics, but we were all on the same page and it was really rather cool to do. Still getting nervous when it has to load and haven't finished the tutorial, but I have my fingers crossed! EDIT: Got stuck loading the third part of the tutorial, went to dashboard, and when I went to start up Online again my character was gone. Surely they could have sorted that compulsory race out before releasing it! Anyway, Ive given up now as it would appear Rockstar have promised more to fans than they can deliver. I saw on IGN this morning that if you delete the update then download it again sometimes that would work but now it's telling me the servers are down. Like honestly I never expected to play the first day but we're coming up on 4 days now. I don't expect all the bugs to be out but atleast enough where I can start to play the game. It would seem the most adventurous thing we could do in game is anytime 4 or more crew members are playing online we should make a private crew only game. That way you don't have the fear of a mission camper taking you out before you bank your money and we can work on the jobs with people we know we can trust. I play for a few missions, then I run into a hiccup and have to go out to Xbox Main Menu and restart the game. Then I'm good for a couple missions/jobs, rinse, wahs, repeat.</p><p> </p><p> This is pretty much the same for most of my friends as we end up in a party together and constantly have to wait for each other to jump back into the game. Very irritating. </p><p> </p><p> Very frustrating experience in general actually. I think the online is fun so far, don't get me wrong, but only with friends. Amongst the public gamers, it's an EVEN BUGGIER more glitch happy online version of GTA. It's literally the most frustrating, annoying form of gameplay when you take the imprecise controls, mix it with a touch of lag and throw in the jerks online. </p><p> </p><p> I'm pretty cool staying offline for this one I think. You can be run over. Sucks since that happened to me when I was 15 grand away from being able to buy an apartment!
