Friday Night SmackDown kicks off with the Big Show making his way to the ring, to a chorus of boos from the WWE Universe in attendance. Once in the ring the Big Show takes a microphone from the ringside area and proclaims that this Sunday at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs Pay-Per-View he will defeat Randy Orton in their Tables match by putting Orton through a table just like he did last month on SmackDown. The Big Show continues that once he has finished off Orton for good he will go on to challenge whoever is the World Heavyweight Champion after this Sunday, be it Sheamus or Alberto Del Rio, who will compete in a Tables, Ladders, Chairs and Chains match for the title, currently held by Sheamus, this Sunday. The Big Show says that the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T has made a big mistake by putting him in a match with both Randy Orton and Sheamus in tonight’s tag team main event when the Big Show will team with Del Rio to take on Orton and Sheamus. The Big Show warns Del Rio not to get in his way tonight. Randy Orton then comes to the ring through the crowd and sneaks up behind the Big Show. When the Big Show turns around Orton hits the Big Show with an RKO. Orton stands over his opponent this Sunday for a few moments before heading to the back as SmackDown cuts to a commercial break.

Match Rating: C-

Following Eve’s victory over Tamina, the WWE Divas Champion takes a microphone and says that last month at Survivor Series, her team of Aksana, Natalya, Kharma and Beth Phoenix defeated Kaitlyn and Layla’s team and that this Sunday at the TLC Pay-Per-View she will defeat both Kaitlyn and Layla in their Triple Threat match to retain her Divas title. Layla then comes to the ring and tells Eve that this Sunday she won’t have Aksana or Natalya on her side, and Layla will win back her Divas title. Kaitlyn then comes to the ring and tells Layla that she will be the one leaving with the Divas title this Sunday. Layla and Kaitlyn go face to face as the Divas Champion Eve smiles and heads to the back as SmackDown heads to a commercial break.

Match Rating: B-

Following Wade Barrett’s victory, the WWE Intercontinental Champion rolls his elbow pad up and looks as though he is planning to strike R-Truth with an elbow to the skull before the assistant to the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T, Theodore Long, comes to the entrance-way and tells Barrett that he is fed up of people doing what they like on SmackDown, and that if Barrett hits R-Truth, he will be stripped of the Intercontinental Championship. Barrett begrudgingly leaves the ring and heads to the back, with a vile look towards Teddy as he walks past him.

Sunday, Week 3, December, 2012

http://www.wrestlingrambles.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/WWE_TLC_logo.png

The following contests are confirmed to take place at tonight’s WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs Pay-Per-View:

World Title: Tables, Ladders, Chairs & Chains: Sheamus © versus Alberto Del Rio

Sheamus has held the World Heavyweight Championship ever since Wrestlemania when he defeated the former World Champion Daniel Bryan in a record setting eighteen seconds. Sheamus had earned his title shot at Wrestlemania by outlasting twenty nine other Superstars from both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown to win the 30 Man Royal Rumble match back in January. Sheamus has had a lengthy reign as World Champion and has earned the plaudits of the WWE Universe as well as the SmackDown General Manager Booker T. Tonight, however, Sheamus must put the title on the line in the first ever Tables, Ladders, Chairs and Chains match against Alberto Del Rio. The title will be suspended above the ring and the only way to win the match is to climb a ladder and retrieve the title. Tables, ladders, chairs and steel chains can all be legally used as weapons in this match. This match was announced by Booker T’s assistant Theodore Long after Alberto Del Rio and his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez attacked Sheamus with a steel chain last month on SmackDown.

WWE Championship: CM Punk © versus John Cena versus Ryback

CM Punk has now held the WWE Championship for over one year since winning the title from the former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio at last year’s Survivor Series Pay-Per-View. In recent months CM Punk has defended the title successfully against both John Cena and Ryback as at the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View in October Punk defeated Ryback inside the Hell in a Cell and last month at Survivor Series Punk defeated Cena in a Last Man Standing match. Tonight, however, Punk must put the title on the line against both Ryback and John Cena in a Triple Threat match.

WWE Tag Team Championships: Ladder Match: Team Hell No © vs. Primo & Epico

The WWE Tag Team Champions Kane and Daniel Bryan, collectively known as Team Hell No, have held the WWE Tag Team Championships since the Night of Champions Pay-Per-View in September when they defeated the former Champions Kofi Kingston and R-Truth. Tonight Team Hell No will put the WWE Tag Team Championships on the line in a Ladder match against Primo and Epico.

Intercontinental Title: Wade Barrett © vs. Christian vs. Mr. MITB Dolph Ziggler

Wade Barrett won the WWE Intercontinental Championship from the former Champion Kofi Kingston on an episode of Friday Night SmackDown last month. Tonight Barrett will look to make his second title defence as he faces both Christian as well as SmackDown’s Money in the Bank winner Dolph Ziggler in a Triple Threat match.

WWE United States Championship: Antonio Cesaro © versus Santino Marella

On the night of Summerslam back in August Antonio Cesaro defeated the former US Champion Santino Marella to become the United States Champion for the very first time. Tonight Cesaro will put the title on the line once again against Santino Marella. In October at the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View Cesaro defeated Santino to retain the title and Team Lesnar, which featured Cesaro, also defeated Team Jericho which included Santino in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match last month.

Chairs Match: Chris Jericho versus Brock Lesnar

At the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View back in October both Chris Jericho and Brock Lesnar made their returns to the WWE, and the WWE Universe feel that Lesnar showed Jericho no respect on that night. Last month at Survivor Series Lesnar and his team of the US Champion Antonio Cesaro, Kassius Ohno, Tensai and Jack Swagger defeated Chris Jericho’s team of Santino Marella, Zack Ryder, Mason Ryan and Ryback in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match. Tonight Jericho and Lesnar will go one on one in a match in which steel chairs are perfectly legal.

Tables Match: Randy Orton versus The Big Show

At the Survivor Series Pay-Per-View last month Sheamus failed to win the World Heavyweight Championship from Sheamus and the next week on Friday Night SmackDown the Big Show came to the ring in a foul mood and hit Randy Orton with a vicious Chokeslam through the announce table. Since then both Orton and the Big Show have had several brawls on SmackDown with Orton hitting the Big Show with an RKO at the beginning of this past week’s show. Tonight Orton and the Big Show will go one on one in a Tables match, with the first Superstar to put their opponent through a table being declared the winner.

The Rock versus Kassius Ohno

At the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View next month, in January, the Rock will be challenging for the WWE Championship, but the Rock has not competed in a match since Wrestlemania so requested a match tonight in order to warm up for the Royal Rumble title shot. His opponent tonight is Kassius Ohno.

WWE Divas Championship: Eve © versus Kaitlyn versus Layla

Finally, the WWE Divas Championship will be on the line tonight as Eve will put her title on the line in a Triple Threat match against both Kaitlyn as well as Layla. Eve won the Divas Championship from the former Champion Layla at the Night of Champions Pay-Per-View back in September. Kaitlyn was scheduled to challenge Layla for the title that night but was attacked backstage prior to the match.

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW:

Non-Title: WWE Champion CM Punk versus Chris Jericho

Last night at the TLC Pay-Per-View CM Punk continued his historic reign as the WWE Champion, which has now lasted over thirteen months, when he defeated both John Cena and Ryback in their Triple Threat match to retain the WWE Championship once again. As well as being the first Superstar to pin the dominant Ryback in their Hell in a Cell match back in October at the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View, CM Punk is also the first person to make Ryback submit after forcing the dominating Ryback to tap out to the Anaconda Vice in last night’s Triple Threat match whilst Cena was outside of the ring. CM Punk had claimed, much to the anger of the WWE Universe, before last night that he would defend his Championship successfully and that he did with another important victory. Punk had claimed in recent weeks on Monday Night RAW that Ryback is not yet ready to be the WWE Champion and that John Cena is too busy focused on his girlfriend AJ Lee and trying to get her job back as General Manager of Monday Night RAW from the current RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero. CM Punk will now move on to the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View in January, next month, to put his WWE Championship on the line against the Rock. CM Punk’s only previous encounter with the Rock came at RAW 1000 back in July when CM Punk entered the ring and hit the Rock with a Clothesline followed by the Go to Sleep. Those actions by CM Punk on that night began Punk’s new image and it was on that night that Jerry “The King” Lawler famously said that CM Punk had “turned his back on the WWE Universe”. Several months later and CM Punk is still the WWE Champion and is seemingly now stronger than ever due to the alliance he has with Brock Lesnar and the associations that both men have with the devious Paul Heyman. The Number One Contender to the WWE Championship, the Rock, was victorious last night at the TLC Pay-Per-View as well as he defeated Kassius Ohno in a warm-up match to his title shot at the Royal Rumble as before last night he had not competed since Wrestlemania back in early April when he defeated John Cena. Speaking of Wrestlemania, CM Punk will take on his last Wrestlemania opponent, Chris Jericho, in tonight’s Monday Night RAW non-title main event. Punk defeated Jericho back in April at Wrestlemania to retain his WWE Championship and will look to pick up another all-important victory over Jericho tonight on RAW to continue his winning streak.

Brodus Clay and Alex Riley versus Jack Swagger and Tensai

Also tonight on Monday Night RAW we will see tag team action as the popular pairing of Brodus Clay and Alex Riley will take on the team of Jack Swagger and Tensai. Brodus Clay and Alex Riley are both popular Superstars among the WWE Universe but neither man has yet to hold Championship gold in the WWE. Many feel that a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championships could be in their future, with both Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler being impressed with Clay and Riley on commentary. Michael Cole, however, has remained unconvinced about the pairing of Clay and Riley and they suffered a setback last week on RAW when they lost to their opponents tonight, Jack Swagger and Tensai.

Non-Title: WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro versus Santino Marella

Last night at the TLC Pay-Per-View Antonio Cesaro defeated Santino Marella to successfully retain his WWE United States Championship. Santino Marella is always making the WWE Universe laugh with his antics including last week on RAW when he mocked both Cesaro as well as the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero. However, Santino has failed to win the US title back from Cesaro on two occasions now after also failing in his title shot at the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View back in October. Tonight Santino will face Cesaro one more time in non-title action.

Zack Ryder versus Kassius Ohno

The popular Zack Ryder will be in action tonight on Monday Night RAW as he will take on the hard-hitting Knockout Specialist and one half of the self-proclaimed Kings of Wrestling along with the US Champion Antonio Cesaro, Kassius Ohno. Last night at the TLC Pay-Per-View Kassius Ohno lost to the Rock in what was the Great One’s first match since Wrestlemania. Ohno would love to bounce back with a victory against Ryder tonight.

Mason Ryan versus William Regal

Last week on NXT the NXT Champion Seth Rollins confronted William Regal backstage and told Regal that if he was as good as he thinks he is then he would be performing in front of the WWE Universe on either Monday Night RAW or Friday Night SmackDown instead of competing with the WWE up and comers on NXT. That seemed to strike a chord with the veteran Regal and he has negotiated with the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero to once again return to in-ring action on RAW. Regal will face another Superstar that may well be a huge force in the WWE for years to come in the Welsh powerhouse, Mason Ryan, tonight on RAW.

Emma versus Beth Phoenix

Finally, the former WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix will look to continue to impress the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero tonight as she will once again take on the young Australian Diva, Emma. The young Emma gained sympathy from the WWE Universe three weeks ago on RAW when she was attacked by Kharma and will look to gain her first win tonight against Beth.

Quick Picks:

The Monday Night RAW television broadcast kicks off with the WWE Champion CM Punk making his way to the ring. Punk seems to take delight in the boos he receives from the WWE Universe in attendance as he takes a microphone. Punk says that last night at the TLC Pay-Per-View he defeated both Ryback and John Cena in their Triple Threat match to successfully retain his WWE Championship once again, and now Punk will lead the WWE into 2013 as the WWE Champion. Punk continues that he saw the Rock’s victory over Kassius Ohno last night at the TLC Pay-Per-View, but with all due respect Ohno is a rookie. Punk says that he has been the WWE Champion for an entire calendar year, and he proclaims that he will remain the WWE Champion throughout 2013 as well. Punk says that in tonight’s non-title main event he will defeat Chris Jericho. Brock Lesnar then joins CM Punk in the ring and the pair shake hands. Brock Lesnar declares that last night at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs Pay-Per-View he defeated Chris Jericho in their Chairs match, and that there won’t even be enough fight in Jericho left tonight for him to last five minutes against the WWE Champion. Brock Lesnar announces that he is entering himself into the Royal Rumble match, and that has been confirmed by the RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero. Lesnar says that due to their associations with Paul Heyman, he and Punk are the most powerful men in the WWE and will headline Wrestlemania for the WWE Championship after Lesnar wins the Royal Rumble. Punk looks a little uneasy at this but still shakes Lesnar’s hand and the pair head to the back together.

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Beth Phoenix defeated Emma in 7:38 by pinfall with a Glam Slam. Natalya accompanied her friend Beth Phoenix to the ring for this one and saw Beth pick up the win.

Match Rating: D+

Following Beth Phoenix’s victory her and Natalya advance upon Emma as if to assault her before Kelly Kelly comes to the ring to make the save. Beth and Natalya leave the ring and head towards the entrance-way where they are joined by Kharma. Kelly takes a microphone and says that RAW was much better when it was being managed by AJ Lee, and that Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero is using people to bully other members of the roster that she does not like. Kelly then stares down the trio on the entrance-way as RAW heads to a commercial break.

Rating: C+

Tuesday, Week 4, December, 2012

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE NXT:

NXT Championship: Seth Rollins © versus Alexander Rusev

The main event of tonight’s episode of NXT will see the NXT Championship on the line as the first ever NXT Champion Seth Rollins will put his Championship on the line once again, this time against the big Russian Alexander Rusev. The NXT Universe inside the NXT Arena tonight will no doubt be treated to a fantastic match made by the NXT Commissioner, WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. Seth Rollins has said in recent weeks that he knows that his future lies in the WWE, and is looking forward to competing on Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown in front of the WWE Universe, but before that Rollins wants to create a legacy as the first ever NXT Champion. As the NXT Champion Seth Rollins is constantly being monitored by the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as well as the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T and a win for Alexander Rusev tonight would mean that as well as becoming the new NXT Champion he will likely be considered very strongly for a spot on the WWE roster in the future. Seth Rollins became the first ever NXT Champion in the summer by virtue of winning the Gold Rush tournament to crown a first NXT Champion, defeating 3MB member Jinder Mahal in the tournament final. Since then, Seth Rollins has gone on to make six defences of the NXT Championship. Seth Rollins made the first defence of the title by defeating Michael McGillicutty on an episode of NXT back in September. The second title defence for Rollins came in October when he defeated William Regal, Briley Pierce and Percy Watson in a Fatal Four-Way match. In November Seth Rollins made his third title defence on an episode of NXT with a victory over Conor O’Brian from the Ascension. For the past three weeks Seth Rollins has put the NXT Championship on the line on every episode of NXT, beginning with three weeks ago when he defeated both William Regal and Xavier Woods in the evening’s Triple Threat main event match to make his fourth title defence. Two weeks ago on NXT Rollins defeated Jake Carter to make his fifth title defence and last week on NXT Rollins defeated DT Porter, Bray Wyatt and his challenger tonight, Alexander Rusev, in a Fatal Four-Way match to make his sixth successful title defence. Before Rusev was involved in last week’s NXT Championship main event match on NXT the Russian had not appeared on NXT since mid-November when he was defeated by Derrick Bateman in his NXT debut. Rusev would love nothing more than to defeat Rollins tonight to become the new NXT Champion and also pick up his first victory on NXT.

Xavier Woods versus Bo Dallas

The second generation Superstar Bo Dallas, the son of Mike Rotunda, will also be in action tonight on NXT as he will take on the charismatic funk lover Xavier Woods in singles competition. Both of these NXT rookies know that a victory tonight in front of the NXT Universe crammed into the NXT Arena would go a long way into gaining the attention of not only the NXT Commissioner, the WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, but also gaining the attention of the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. The higher ups in management of WWE are constantly watching NXT looking for the next breakout star and both of these young competitors would love the chance to eventually perform in front of the WWE Universe. Four weeks ago on NXT in the last episode of NXT in November Xavier Woods was victorious in a big Fatal Four-Way match by defeating Bray Wyatt, Derrick Bateman and Jake Carter. Three weeks ago on NXT Xavier Woods joined William Regal in challenging Seth Rollins for the NXT Championship in a Triple Threat match but was unable to win the gold as Rollins retained his title. Last week on NXT Xavier Woods got into a brawl with Briley Pierce before being saved by his good friend Percy Watson.

Derrick Bateman versus PAC versus Jake Carter versus Calvin Raines

A huge Fatal Four-Way match has been booked to take place on tonight’s episode of NXT by the NXT Commissioner, WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. The NXT Universe inside the NXT Arena will be treated to a match involving Derrick Bateman, Jake Carter, the powerhouse Calvin Raines as well as a rookie from England named PAC who will be making his NXT debut tonight. All four of these competitors know that a victory tonight over three others will do them no harm in gaining the attention of both Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as well as the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. Jake Carter is the son of the legendary Vader, and Carter would love to follow in his father’s footsteps and perform in front of the WWE Universe.

Audrey Marie versus Raquel Diaz

Finally, Divas action on tonight’s edition of NXT will see the original Diva, Audrey Marie; take on the daughter of the late, great WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero, Raquel Diaz. Audrey Marie was victorious over the host of the “Exfoliating Ugly Tour”, Raquel Diaz, in a tag team match inside the NXT Arena in last week’s edition of NXT as Audrey and Naomi defeated Raquel and Maxine. Audrey Marie is very popular amongst the NXT Universe and knows that another victory tonight in singles action will lead to more opportunities from NXT Commissioner Dusty Rhodes.

Quick Picks:

NXT Championship: Seth Rollins © versus Alexander Rusev

Derrick Bateman versus PAC versus Jake Carter versus Calvin Raines

Audrey Marie versus Raquel Diaz

WWE NXT (Live from Carter Gymnasium (NC), 947 in Attendance)

NXT kicks off with the reigning NXT Champion Seth Rollins making his way to the ring to a huge ovation from the NXT Universe on hand inside the sold out NXT Arena. Seth Rollins takes a microphone from the ringside area and proclaims that later tonight in the evening’s main event he will put his NXT Championship on the line for the fourth week in a row when he takes on the big Russian known as Alexander Rusev. Seth Rollins declares that he will defeat Alexander Rusev and continue to be the fighting Champion that he has always been since he won the NXT Championship to become the first ever NXT Champion by winning the Gold Rush tournament in the summer, last defeating Jinder Mahal of 3MB in the tournament final. Seth Rollins says that since he won the NXT Championship and was handed the title belt by the NXT Commissioner, WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, Rollins knew that he wanted to be the greatest NXT Champion of all time. Seth Rollins says that he has worked very hard to be where he is today, and that he is still destined for greatness in the future. Rollins says that he knows that his destiny is to compete on Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown in front of the WWE Universe, but until then he wants to continue putting his NXT Championship on the line and forging his legacy as the leader of NXT. Seth Rollins says that if the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero or the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T is watching tonight, be excited about Seth Rollins appearing on their shows in the future but not until he has carved out his legacy as the greatest NXT Champion there ever has or will be. Seth Rollins recounts his recent title defences, beginning with three weeks ago on NXT when he defeated both William Regal and Xavier Woods in a Triple Threat match, two weeks ago on NXT when he defeated Jake Carter in the evening’s main event to once again retain his title and last week on NXT when Rollins defeated tonight’s opponent Alexander Rusev, Bray Wyatt and DT Porter in a Fatal Four-Way match to make his most recent title defence. Rollins also says that after a backstage confrontation with William Regal last week on NXT he told Regal that if he was that good he would be competing on RAW or SmackDown, and that Regal must have listened to him as last night on RAW Regal lost a match to Mason Ryan. The dark and mysterious Bray Wyatt then strolls down to the ring with a microphone in hand and says that Rollins may have defeated him last week in a Fatal Four-Way match, but one on one Bray Wyatt knows that he would defeat Rollins. Bray Wyatt says that his family is nearly ready to congregate, and that they are all following the buzzards. Wyatt says that he will be watching tonight’s NXT Championship match very closely, and will come after the winner. Wyatt then enters the ring and hits Rollins with a right hand, and the two men exchange blows before NXT officials rush to the ring to separate the pair.

Rating: C-

Audrey Marie versus Raquel Diaz

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Raquel Diaz defeated Audrey Marie in 7:38 by pinfall with a Frogsplash. The opening contest on tonight’s edition of NXT saw Divas action as the “Original Diva” Audrey Marie took on Raquel Diaz, the host of the “Exfoliating Ugly Tour” and the daughter of both WWE Hall of Famer, the late, great Eddie Guerrero as well as the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero. The NXT Universe inside the sold out NXT Arena were fully behind Audrey Marie in this one but it was Diaz that picked up the all-important victory after pinning Audrey Marie with the Frogsplash.

Match Rating: E-

Derrick Bateman versus PAC versus Jake Carter versus Calvin Raines

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Derrick Bateman defeated PAC, Jake Carter and Calvin Raines in 7:46 by pinfall after pinning Calvin Raines with a DDT. The NXT Universe inside the sold out NXT Arena were treated to a Fatal Four-Way match between four NXT competitors all wanting to impress the NXT Commissioner, the WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. It was Bateman that picked up the win here after pinning Calvin Raines with a DDT whilst Jake Carter and the debuting PAC were brawling on the outside of the ring.

Match Rating: E+

Xavier Woods versus Bo Dallas

In a bout that featured great action and average heat, Xavier Woods and Bo Dallas fought to a double count out. Both Xavier Woods and Bo Dallas came into this match with the support of the NXT Universe inside the jam-packed NXT Arena. However as the match went on the fans began to get behind the second generation star Bo Dallas more as Xavier Woods became extremely aggressive inside the ring and used a number of dirty tricks and cheap tactics to gain the upper hand on his opponent. Ultimately the pair began to brawl outside the ring and on to the entrance-way where both men were counted out.

Match Rating: D

NXT Championship: Seth Rollins © versus Alexander Rusev

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Seth Rollins defeated Alexander Rusev in 7:38 by pinfall with a Blackout. Seth Rollins makes defence number seven of his NXT Championship. Tonight’s NXT main event saw Seth Rollins put the NXT Championship on the line against the big Russian Alexander Rusev. Seth Rollins is very popular among the NXT Universe and the sold out NXT Arena were fully behind Rollins in this match. Rollins obliged and once again retained his title after pinning Rusev with the Blackout.

Thursday, Week 4, December, 2012

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5e/WWE_Superstars_logo.png

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Superstars:

Kofi Kingston versus Jinder Mahal

The main event on tonight’s edition of WWE Superstars will see one third of the three man band known as 3MB in action as Jinder Mahal, from India, takes on West Ghana, Africa’s Kofi Kingston in a match-up that is internationally flavoured. Since forming the three man band along with Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre on Monday Night RAW several months ago 3MB have gained more attention among the WWE Universe than they did during their singles careers in recent months, with the trio floundering individually. Jinder Mahal knows that a victory over Kofi Kingston tonight on WWE Superstars will go a long way in gaining the further attention of both the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as well as the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. Jinder Mahal is yet to win Championship gold in the WWE during his few years that he has been competing and has lost to Kofi Kingston on WWE Superstars in the main event of the evening for the past two weeks in a row, Kingston is therefore looking to make it a hat-trick of successive victories against Mahal tonight. However Jinder Mahal was victorious three weeks ago in the main event of Superstars when he defeated the former Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson. Jinder Mahal’s only other victory on television since September also came against Ezekiel Jackson when Mahal defeated Ezekiel on an episode of Superstars back in October. On the first episode of Superstars in November Jinder Mahal lost to the high-flying sensation Sin Cara in the evening’s main event, and therefore Mahal seems to be more effective in the ring against larger opponents as Kofi Kingston has also defeated him for the past two weeks. Unlike Jinder Mahal, Kofi Kingston is a decorated Champion during his time in the WWE having won the WWE Intercontinental Championship on four separate occasions, and last holding the title last month in November before he lost it to Wade Barrett on an episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Kofi Kingston is also a former two-time WWE United States Champion and a former three-time WWE Tag Team Champion, having held the titles with three different tag team partners. In recent weeks Kofi Kingston has been victorious in the main event of WWE Superstars having defeated Jinder Mahal for the past two weeks in a row. However, on Friday Night SmackDown as of late Kofi Kingston has found it difficult to pick up victories and Kingston has lost to the World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry on Friday Night SmackDown for the past three weeks in a row. Kofi Kingston’s team were however victorious at the Survivor Series Pay-Per-View last month when Randy Orton and his team of Kingston, R-Truth and the WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No, comprised of Kane and Daniel Bryan, defeated Alberto Del Rio and his team of the Miz, SmackDown’s Money in the Bank winner Dolph Ziggler and the Team Rhodes Scholars pairing of Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination match.

Brodus Clay and Alex Riley versus The Ascension

Tag team action tonight on WWE Superstars will see the popular pairing of Brodus Clay and Alex Riley in action against the dark and mysterious tag team of the Ascension, comprised of Conor O’Brian and Kenneth Cameron. Brodus Clay, also known as the “Funkasaurus” began teaming with Alex Riley on Monday Night RAW and since then has become more focused on in-ring competition. Although still as popular as ever among the WWE Universe, Brodus Clay has stopped having the dancers known as the “Funkadaktylls” Cameron and Naomi accompany him to the ring for his matches. The Ascension, comprised of the powerhouse Conor O’Brian and the English athletic specimen Kenneth Cameron, dominated tag teams on NXT for several months earlier in the year and the NXT Universe were seemingly terrified by the dark stigma surrounding the Ascension. However, since coming to the WWE the Ascension are yet to pick up a victory. Their finishing manoeuvre that they often used on NXT, known as the Fall of Man, is a particularly devastating move as Conor O’Brian runs at their opponent from behind and takes out their legs whilst Kenneth Cameron simultaneously runs at the opponent and hits them with a spinning heel kick. A first victory in the WWE for the Ascension tonight on WWE Superstars would certainly go a long way into impressing both the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as well as the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. Brodus Clay and Alex Riley have defeated the Ascension for the past two weeks in a row on WWE Superstars and the more experienced Clay and Riley will therefore be looking for a hat-trick of victories over the Ascension tonight on Superstars. Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd, the high-flying tandem, also defeated the Ascension on WWE Superstars for three weeks in a row and the Ascension have also suffered three losses on Superstars to the twin brothers Jimmy and Jey Uso, known as the Uso’s. In their WWE debut on Superstars, the Ascension lost to the team of Trent Barreta and Yoshi Tatsu.

Tamina versus Kharma

Finally, Divas action on tonight’s episode of WWE Superstars will see the daughter of the legendary “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka, Tamina, take on the huge behemoth known as Kharma in singles competition for the first time ever. Tamina has endeared herself to the WWE Universe as of late and for the past three weeks in a row on Superstars Tamina has earned victories against the former Divas Champion Beth Phoenix. Kharma is currently being utilised, along with Beth Phoenix and Natalya, by the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero to do her bidding.

Pre-Show: Kelly Kelly versus Portia Perez

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Kelly Kelly defeated Portia Perez in 17:48 by pinfall with a K2. This match needed to be a lot shorter given who was involved as the WWE Universe do not really know who Portia Perez is yet.

Match Rating: D+

Pre-Show: Trent Barreta and Yoshi Tatsu versus Hunico and Camacho

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Trent & Yoshi defeated Hunico & Camacho in 18:09 when Trent Barreta defeated Camacho by pinfall with a Gobstopper Knee. The big man Camacho was really off his game tonight which led to Trent Barreta pinning Camacho to pick up the all-important victory for his team here after hitting Camacho with his trademark Gobstopper Knee.

Match Rating: D-

Pre-Show: Jay Briscoe versus Leo Kruger

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Jay Briscoe defeated Leo Kruger in 17:31 by pinfall with a Double Underhook Piledriver. This match was far too long given who was involved as the WWE Universe do not really know who either man is despite Leo Kruger spending several months earlier this year competing in the NXT Arena in front of the NXT Universe on NXT. Jay Briscoe is also not really well known and has only been in the company for the past few weeks. Still, Jay Briscoe was able to pick up the win here.

WWE Superstars airs the RAW rebound which recaps events from this past week’s edition of Monday Night RAW. The show began with the WWE Champion CM Punk making his way to the ring to boos from the WWE Universe in attendance. CM Punk proclaimed that at the TLC Pay-Per-View on Sunday he defeated both John Cena and Ryback in their Triple Threat match to successfully retain his WWE Championship, and will now go on to put the WWE Championship on the line against the Rock at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View next month. Brock Lesnar then joined CM Punk in the ring, and Lesnar too was in a good mood following his victory over Chris Jericho in their Chairs match at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs Pay-Per-View. Lesnar declared that due to their associations with Paul Heyman, CM Punk and Brock Lesnar are the most dominant force in the WWE. Lesnar said that he was looking forward to watching CM Punk defeat whatever was left of Chris Jericho in RAW’s non-title main event, and also announced that he had confirmed with Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero that Lesnar will take part in the Royal Rumble match next month. Lesnar said that he would main event Wrestlemania against CM Punk for the WWE Championship, and CM Punk seemed a little uneasy at this suggestion. Later on in the evening Paul Heyman was giving Brock Lesnar a pep talk backstage when Chris Jericho interrupted the pair and announced that he would also be taking part in the Royal Rumble match. John Cena would come to the ring later in the evening and announce that he will also be taking part in the Royal Rumble match, something that his girlfriend AJ Lee seemed unhappy about as she wants Cena’s attentions to be on her and helping her get her job back as General Manager. Bret Hart came to the ring later in the evening to support his fellow Canadian Chris Jericho in the main event, but was interrupted by Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman who demanded that Bret Hart leave the ring. In the main event of the evening CM Punk defeated Chris Jericho with the Rock watching on, who had earlier in the night promised to become the new WWE Champion at the Royal Rumble. RAW went off the air with CM Punk celebrating in the ring with Paul Heyman.

Rating: B-

Tamina versus Kharma

In an extremely short match, Tamina defeated Kharma in 2:40 by pinfall with a Samoan Drop. This was a big victory for Tamina who will have her eyes on the new WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn.

Match Rating: C-

Stills are shown of the match from this past Sunday’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs Pay-Per-View when Randy Orton defeated the Big Show in their Tables match. Kofi Kingston versus Jinder Mahal

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Kofi Kingston defeated Jinder Mahal in 7:36 by pinfall with an S.O.S. This was a good victory for Kofi Kingston in the main event of WWE Superstars against 3MB member Jinder Mahal.

Match Rating: C+

Post-Show: Richie Steamboat versus Corey Graves

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown!:

World Champion Alberto Del Rio & The Big Show vs. Sheamus & Randy Orton

This past Sunday at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs Pay-Per-View Alberto Del Rio defeated Sheamus in the evening’s main event to become the new World Heavyweight Champion for the very first time and end the near eight month title reign of the “Celtic Warrior” Sheamus. The main event on Sunday saw Sheamus put his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Alberto Del Rio in a Tables, Ladders, Chairs and Chains match where tables, ladders, chairs and chains could all be legally used as weapons and the only way to win the match was to climb a ladder and retrieve the World Heavyweight Championship title belt. The “Mexican Aristocrat” Alberto Del Rio’s victory came in controversial fashion and much to the dismay of the WWE Universe in attendance on Sunday as Alberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez held onto Sheamus, stopping him from going after Del Rio as Del Rio climbed the ladder to retrieve the Championship. Earlier in the evening Ricardo Rodriguez had also gone into the “Celtic Warrior’s” locker-room and sprayed him in the eye with some sort of concoction and many thought that Sheamus would not be able to put the title on the line in the evening’s main event. However, just before the main event the assistant to the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T, Theodore Long, came to the ring to announce that as a fighting Champion Sheamus would take part in the main event. Booker T announced earlier this week via a tweet sent out that the main event of tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown would see a huge tag team match as the new World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio will team up with the largest athlete in the World, the Big Show, to take on the team of Sheamus and Randy Orton. Both Orton and the Big Show were also opponents this past Sunday at the TLC Pay-Per-View as Randy Orton defeated the Big Show in their Tables match. Orton was able to win the match by pushing the Big Show through a table whilst both men were on the top rope. No doubt all three of the other men involved in tonight’s main event would love the next shot at the new World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio.

Non-Title: WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No versus Hunico and Camacho

The WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No, comprised of Kane and Daniel Bryan, will also be in action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown as they will take on the team of Hunico and his tag team partner Camacho. This past Sunday at the TLC Pay-Per-View Kane and Daniel Bryan defeated Primo and Epico in their Ladder match to successfully retain the WWE Tag Team Championships, and tonight’s match will be a non-title affair.

Non-Title: WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett versus Kofi Kingston

This past Sunday at the TLC Pay-Per-View Wade Barrett defeated both Christian as well as Friday Night SmackDown’s Money in the Bank winner Dolph Ziggler in a Triple Threat match to retain his Intercontinental Championship. Tonight on SmackDown Barrett will take on the man he defeated to win the Intercontinental Championship, Kofi Kingston, in non-title action.

Rey Mysterio vs. Friday Night SmackDown’s Mr. Money in the Bank Dolph Ziggler

The holder of Friday Night SmackDown’s Money in the Bank briefcase, Dolph Ziggler, will also be in action tonight on SmackDown as he will take on a former World Heavyweight Champion in Rey Mysterio. Dolph Ziggler failed to become the new Intercontinental Champion this past Sunday at the TLC Pay-Per-View as Wade Barrett defeated both Ziggler as well as Christian in their Triple Threat match to successfully retain the Intercontinental Championship. Rey Mysterio is always popular among the WWE Universe and will be hoping to impress the SmackDown General Manager Booker T with an all-important victory tonight. Rey Mysterio is a former Royal Rumble winner having won the match in 2006, and will also be hoping to enter this year’s Royal Rumble match, which takes place next month.

R-Truth versus Mark Henry

Since returning to action in late October following several months on the sidelines with an injury, Mark Henry has become a dominant force on Friday Night SmackDown and has earned a victory over the former World Heavyweight Champion Christian, and for the past three weeks in a row has been successful with wins over Kofi Kingston. Tonight on SmackDown Mark Henry, known as the World’s Strongest Man for a reason, will take on the former partner of Kofi Kingston, R-Truth.

Non-Title: WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn versus Rosa Mendes

Finally, the Divas will be in action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown as the brand new WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn will take on Rosa Mendes in non-title action. This past Sunday at the TLC Pay-Per-View Kaitlyn defeated both Layla as well as the former Divas Champion Eve in a Triple Threat match to become the new Divas Champion for the very first time, ending the reign of Eve who had held the title since September. Rosa Mendes was less lucky on Sunday as her team that she manages, Primo and Epico, failed to defeat Kane and Daniel Bryan, known as Team Hell No, in their Ladder match.

Quick Picks:

World Champion Alberto Del Rio & The Big Show vs. Sheamus & Randy Orton

Non-Title: WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No versus Hunico and Camacho

Non-Title: WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett versus Kofi Kingston

Rey Mysterio vs. Friday Night SmackDown’s Mr. Money in the Bank Dolph Ziggler

Non-Title: WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn versus Rosa Mendes

(Predictions are welcomed, there will be a prediction contest held every month. This is the final show of this month’s contest and the overall winner will be able to pick a Superstar to participate in an Elimination Chamber match at the upcoming WWE Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View.)

WWE Friday Night SmackDown! (Live from Stan Sheriff Center (HI), 9,971 in Attendance)

Pre-Show: Tamina versus Aksana

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Tamina defeated Aksana in 17:47 by pinfall with a Samoan Drop. Aksana was visibly tiring towards the end of this match which allowed Tamina to pick up the all-important victory.

Match Rating: E+

Pre-Show: The Uso’s versus Team Rhodes Scholars

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Team Rhodes Scholars defeated The Uso's in 18:05 when Cody Rhodes defeated Jey Uso by pinfall with a Cross Rhodes. Twin brothers Jimmy and Jey Uso showed excellent chemistry teaming together tonight but that was not enough to lead them to victory as Cody pinned Jey Uso following the Cross Rhodes to pick up the win for his team.

Match Rating: C

Pre-Show: Christian versus The Miz

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, The Miz defeated Christian in 18:15 by pinfall with a Skull Crushing Finale. Layla accompanied Christian to ringside for this one and the relationship between Christian and Layla seems to be growing stronger by the day. However, despite the support of Layla at ringside, Christian was unable to get the win here.

Match Rating: C+

Friday Night SmackDown begins with the “Viper” Randy Orton making his slow and methodical approach to the ring, much to the delight of the WWE Universe in attendance. Once in the ring Orton takes a microphone from the ringside area and proclaims that this past Sunday at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs Pay-Per-View Orton was able to defeat the Big Show in their Tables match after he sent the Big Show through a table from the top turnbuckle. Orton says that he is now focused on winning back the World Heavyweight Championship, a title that has eluded him for the past few years. Orton says that he is officially entering the Royal Rumble match, and will show just how devastating he can be in tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown tag team main event when Randy Orton will team with Sheamus to take on the team of the Big Show and his tag team partner, the new World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio. The Big Show then joins Orton in the ring and takes a microphone of his own. The Big Show says that Orton’s victory over him on Sunday was a fluke, and that the Big Show too is officially entering himself into the Royal Rumble match next month. The Big Show says that the SmackDown General Manager Booker T has made a bad mistake putting him in the ring again with Orton later tonight. The Big Show then hits Orton with a Chokeslam and stands over the fallen Orton as SmackDown heads to a commercial break.

Rating: A

Non-Title: WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn versus Rosa Mendes

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Kaitlyn defeated Rosa Mendes in 6:19 by pinfall with an Atomic Wedgie Bomb. Rosa Mendes seemed off her game tonight which allowed the new Divas Champion Kaitlyn to pick up the win.

Match Rating: D+

Following her victory the new Divas Champion Kaitlyn celebrates in the ring before she is interrupted by the former Champion Eve, who has a microphone at the entrance ramp and says that she wants a rematch. Paige then joins Eve on the entrance ramp and announces that she will be getting the first title shot, and will challenge Kaitlyn for the title at the Royal Rumble next month. Eve and Paige then walk towards the ring and look as though they are going to attack Kaitlyn before Layla rushes to the ring to make the save. Kaitlyn and Layla stare down Eve and Paige and eventually Eve and Paige back away and head to the back. Kaitlyn and Layla then stare at one another as SmackDown cuts to a commercial break.

Non-Title: WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett versus Kofi Kingston

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Wade Barrett defeated Kofi Kingston in 8:12 by pinfall with The Wasteland. Barrett and Kingston have pretty good chemistry as opponents, and it lifted the match.

Match Rating: B

We cut backstage to find Sheamus in his locker-room preparing for tonight’s main event before Alberto Del Rio, the new World Heavyweight Champion, and Ricardo Rodriguez rush into the room and once again assault Sheamus. The trio then flee the scene leaving Sheamus in a heap on the floor as Friday Night SmackDown heads to a commercial break.

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW:

WWE Champion CM Punk and Brock Lesnar versus John Cena and Chris Jericho

The main event on tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW will see tag team action as the WWE Champion CM Punk will team up with the “Baddest Man on the Planet” Brock Lesnar to take on the team of John Cena and Chris Jericho. CM Punk enters 2013 as the WWE Champion just as he entered 2012, and has now held the WWE Championship for an entire calendar year since defeating the former Champion Alberto Del Rio at the Survivor Series Pay-Per-View in 2011. This is CM Punk’s third reign as WWE Champion and CM Punk continued to infuriate the WWE Universe in his last title defence, at last month’s TLC Pay-Per-View, when CM Punk defeated both John Cena and Ryback in a Triple Threat match. In the process CM Punk forced Ryback to submit to the Anaconda Vice, being the first person to make Ryback submit and injuring Ryback’s arm in the process. CM Punk was also the first Superstar to pin Ryback at the Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View back in October when he defeated Ryback inside the evening’s Hell in a Cell main event. CM Punk’s next title defence will take place later this month at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View when Punk will take on the Rock for the first time ever. The Rock is a former seven-time WWE Champion and last held the prestigious Championship in 2002 before he lost it to CM Punk’s partner tonight, Brock Lesnar. The Rock was on RAW last week and proclaimed that he would win the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, and the Rock certainly looked impressive when he defeated the young Kassius Ohno at the TLC Pay-Per-View last month. Brock Lesnar announced last week on RAW that he had confirmed with the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero that he will take part in the Royal Rumble match, and as Punk and Lesnar are aligned as of late due to their associations with Paul Heyman, Lesnar claimed that after winning the Royal Rumble he will go on to have the greatest Wrestlemania main event of all time with CM Punk with the WWE Championship on the line. Chris Jericho and John Cena also both announced last week that they too will take part in the Royal Rumble match later this month.

Brodus Clay and Alex Riley versus Jack Swagger and Tensai

Also tonight on Monday Night RAW we will see tag team action as the team of Brodus Clay and Alex Riley, ever so popular among the WWE Universe, will be in action against the newly formed team of Jack Swagger and Tensai. Swagger and Tensai teamed up for the very first time two weeks ago on RAW and were able to defeat Brodus and Riley, and last week on RAW Swagger and Tensai were able to defeat Brodus and Riley again. Will Swagger and Tensai earn a hat-trick of victories over Brodus Clay and Alex Riley tonight on RAW?

Non-Title: WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro versus Zack Ryder

Last week on Monday Night RAW during Antonio Cesaro’s non-title victory over Santino Marella, the RAW commentary team of Michael Cole, Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler announced that Antonio Cesaro, the “Swiss Sensation” who has held the United States Championship since the night of Summerslam back in August of last year, will take part in this year’s Royal Rumble match. Antonio Cesaro will be in non-title action again tonight on RAW as he will take on the “Team CoBro” tag team partner of Santino Marella, Zack Ryder.

Mason Ryan versus William Regal

Last week on Monday Night RAW William Regal returned to action following several months spent in NXT first doing commentary and then later on competing in the ring. Regal earned a spot on the roster from the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero after a nerve of Regal’s was struck by comments made to him a few weeks ago on NXT by the NXT Champion Seth Rollins, who told Regal that if he was still as good as he thinks he is then he would be competing in front of the WWE Universe on either Monday Night RAW or Friday Night SmackDown. Regal lost his return match last week to the Welsh powerhouse Mason Ryan, but tonight on RAW Regal will face Ryan again with a second chance to beat the fellow Brit.

Santino Marella versus Chavo Guerrero

One half of “Team CoBro” along with Zack Ryder, Santino Marella, will also be in action tonight on Monday Night RAW as the “Master of the Cobra” Santino will take on the veteran Chavo Guerrero in singles competition. This will be a tough test for both men as Santino is a former two-time Intercontinental Champion, a former United States Champion as well as a former WWE Tag Team Champion and Chavo has been competing for over a decade.

Kelly Kelly versus Sexy Star

Finally, Divas action tonight on Monday Night RAW will see Sexy Star make her much anticipated WWE debut against the beautiful former WWE Divas Champion Kelly Kelly. Sexy Star has been competing in front of the NXT Universe in the NXT Arena on NXT for the past number of weeks, and although she lost her first two matches on NXT two weeks ago Sexy Star was able to defeat the former Funkadaktyll Naomi in singles competition. Kelly is popular with the WWE Universe although she has had her problems with the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as of late.

Quick Picks:

WWE Champion CM Punk and Brock Lesnar versus John Cena and Chris Jericho

Brodus Clay and Alex Riley versus Jack Swagger and Tensai

Non-Title: WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro versus Zack Ryder

Mason Ryan versus William Regal

Santino Marella versus Chavo Guerrero

Kelly Kelly versus Sexy Star

Pre-Show: Emma versus Kharma

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Kharma defeated Emma in 18:04 by pinfall with a Sitout Powerbomb. The huge behemoth of a Diva known as Kharma was really off her game tonight but was still able to pick up the victory after the Australian dancing Diva Emma after hitting her with the Sitout Powerbomb that Kharma calls the Impact Buster. The WWE Universe were solidly behind Emma throughout this match partly due to the suffering she has had to endure in recent weeks at the hands of the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and her entourage of Divas.

Match Rating: D-

Punk continues that 2012 continued with Punk as the WWE Champion and now on the very first RAW of 2013 CM Punk is still the WWE Champion. CM Punk says that the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero has made tonight’s main event a tag team match with CM Punk teaming up with Brock Lesnar to take on the team of John Cena and Chris Jericho. Brock Lesnar then joins CM Punk in the ring and proclaims that the pair of them are the strongest alliance in the WWE due to the associations that both men have with who Lesnar calls the intellectual genius, Paul Heyman. However, before Beth and Natalya can attack Kelly, AJ Lee rushes to the ring and charges straight at Vickie Guerrero. Beth and Natalya prize AJ off of Vickie and help Vickie leave the ring and head to the entrance-way, where the trio are joined by Kharma. AJ helps Kelly to her feet and the pair in the ring stare-down Kharma on the entrance-way as RAW cuts to a commercial break.

Tuesday, Week 1, January, 2013

http://wrestlingnewsandviews.files.wordpress.com/2013/06/nxt.jpg

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE NXT:

Marcus Owens versus Bray Wyatt

The main event on tonight’s episode of NXT, live from the NXT Arena, will see NXT newcomer Marcus Owens make his debut in front of the NXT Universe as he will take on the dark and mysterious leader of the “Family”, Bray Wyatt. WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, the NXT Commissioner, perhaps sees something in the young Marcus Owens to give him his NXT debut in the main event against a competitor the calibre of Bray Wyatt. The young Marcus Owens will know that the higher ups in the WWE such as Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as well as the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T are constantly monitoring NXT looking for the next break out star to one day perform in front of the WWE Universe. Bray Wyatt has cryptically spoke about his family in recent weeks and we do know that he has tried to recruit Maxine to his family, but perhaps tonight will be the night that the other members of Bray Wyatt’s family are finally revealed. The sole NXT commentator Byron Saxton will be at ringside to call the action for tonight’s broadcast and may well give us some more information as to what exactly Bray Wyatt’s motives are for bringing in a force that he refers to as the “family”. Four weeks ago Bray Wyatt was in action on NXT and was victorious over the highly charismatic Derrick Bateman. This was after Maxine had told Audrey Marie earlier in the evening that she would only want to associate herself with winners, so if she is to join the family of Bray Wyatt’s then he needed to start picking up all-important victories. Wyatt duly delivered four weeks ago on NXT with a victory over Maxine’s former fiancé, Derrick Bateman. However, the next week on NXT Derrick Bateman was victorious over Bray Wyatt meaning that he had avenged the loss from four weeks ago. Despite losing to Derrick Bateman three weeks ago on NXT, two weeks ago Bray Wyatt was involved in NXT’s Fatal Four-Way main event as Seth Rollins put the NXT Championship on the line against Wyatt, Alexander Rusev and the somewhat unknown DT Porter. Seth Rollins was once again successful in retaining his NXT Championship two weeks ago and Bray Wyatt was unable to capture the NXT Championship. However, despite being unable to win the NXT Championship two weeks ago on NXT, last week Bray Wyatt got into a brawl with Seth Rollins at the beginning of the show that began with Wyatt hitting Rollins with a cheap shot right hand. Bray Wyatt proclaimed last week that he would be after the winner of last week’s main event as Seth Rollins put his NXT Championship on the line against Alexander Rusev. Rollins once again retained his title so perhaps a victory for Wyatt against the debuting Marcus Owens tonight will earn him an opportunity to challenge for the NXT Championship in the future.

Percy Watson versus Alexander Rusev

Also tonight on NXT the young and athletic Percy Watson, always popular with the NXT Universe inside the NXT Arena, will be in action as he will take on the big Russian competitor Alexander Rusev. Both of these men will likely be vying for a future opportunity to challenge for the NXT Championship and will be hoping to impress WWE Hall of Famer, the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, the NXT Commissioner, with a victory tonight. Both of these men, though contrasting styles, believe they have what it takes to compete in front of the WWE Universe and will be hoping that the eyes of Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as well as Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T are on them tonight. For the past two weeks Alexander Rusev has competed in the main event for the NXT Championship, as two weeks ago on NXT Rusev joined DT Porter and Bray Wyatt in challenging Seth Rollins for the NXT Championship in a Fatal Four-Way match, a contest which saw Rollins retain the title. Additionally, just last week on NXT Seth Rollins defeated Rusev in the evening’s main event to once again retain the NXT Championship.

Caylee Turner versus Maxine

Finally, Divas action tonight on NXT will see the bitchy Diva known as Maxine in action inside what is sure to be another packed out NXT Arena as she will take on Caylee Turner, a Diva very popular among the NXT Universe and also the younger sister of former WWE Divas Champion Alicia Fox. Caylee Turner would love to follow in her sister’s footsteps and one day compete in front of the WWE Universe on either Monday Night RAW or Friday Night SmackDown. Tonight Caylee Turner knows that nothing more than a victory over Maxine will do to impress the likes of NXT Commissioner and WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes as well as the WWE higher ups such as Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. Maxine has been debating joining Bray Wyatt’s “family” as of late after he propositioned her several weeks ago on NXT. Four weeks ago Maxine told the “Original Diva” Audrey Marie that she would only join Bray Wyatt’s family if he started winning matches. Later that night Bray Wyatt was able to defeat the former fiancé of Maxine, Derrick Bateman. However, the next week on NXT Derrick Bateman avenged his loss with an all-important victory over Bray Wyatt. Two weeks ago Maxine was unsuccessful in tag team action as the team of Audrey Marie and Naomi defeated Maxine and Raquel Diaz. Maxine will be hoping to bounce back with a victory tonight.

Quick Picks:

Marcus Owens versus Bray Wyatt

Percy Watson versus Alexander Rusev

Caylee Turner versus Maxine

WWE NXT (Live from Carter Gymnasium (NC), 947 in Attendance)

This week’s edition of NXT kicks off with Joey Mercury making his way to the ring, much to the surprise of the NXT Universe packed inside a sold out NXT Arena. Once in the ring Joey Mercury reintroduces himself as Joey Matthews. Joey Matthews goes on to say that many of those in attendance may remember Matthews from his time competing in front of the WWE Universe on both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown in the tag team known as MNM. Matthews goes on to say that he is a former WWE Tag Team Champion. Matthews says that whilst his former tag team partner went on to win singles gold in the WWE, Matthews was cast aside by those in power and returned to the independent circuit, where he was eventually forced to retire. Matthews says that he made this decision because he doesn’t want to be competing in front of a few hundred people in a high school or a barn; he wanted to be competing in front of the WWE Universe. Matthews says that after he was forced to retire he went into a state of depression, until he was consoled by somebody that he met. Matthews says that the person that got his life back on track is none other than Bray Wyatt, and Matthews says that he is proud as well as honoured to introduce himself as the first official member of Bray Wyatt’s family. Matthews says that he will now live his life through Bray Wyatt and do all in his power to make sure that Bray Wyatt becomes the new NXT Champion. Matthews says that he hopes the NXT Commissioner, WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes is watching, because Bray Wyatt and his family is about to take over his show. Matthews also says that RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as well as the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T should also be worried, because the family are going to control the entire WWE in the not too distant future. Another man then joins Joey Matthews in the ring, of African American appearance, and Matthews hands him the microphone. The man introduces himself as Julius Smokes. He says that Bray Wyatt found him on the streets, trying to be a gangster, causing danger to himself on a regular basis. Julius Smokes declares that Bray Wyatt told him to follow the buzzards, and in doing so freed him from the life of crime that he previously inhibited. Julius Smokes says that he owes his life to Bray Wyatt, and he will be in his corner in tonight’s main event when Bray Wyatt takes on Marcus Owens, a rookie making his NXT debut tonight. Matthews and Smokes then leave the ring together and head to the back.

Caylee Turner versus Maxine

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Maxine defeated Caylee Turner in 8:09 by pinfall with a DDT. The Diva that many refer to as a bitch, Maxine, looked impressive here as she silenced the NXT Universe inside the NXT Arena who were firmly behind Caylee Turner throughout the match. Caylee Turner is the younger sister of WWE Diva Alicia Fox, and she would love to one day follow in her sister’s footsteps and compete in front of the WWE Universe. However, tonight it was not to be for Caylee as Maxine picked up the all-important victory.

Match Rating: E+

The NXT Champion Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring much to the delight of the NXT Universe inside the NXT Arena. Seth Rollins says that the NXT Commissioner, WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, has given Seth Rollins the night off tonight as Rollins will not be in action defending his title. However, Seth Rollins says that he still wanted to come out and address the people. Rollins continues that he is well aware that his destiny is competing on either Monday Night RAW or Friday Night SmackDown in front of the WWE Universe, but until then Seth Rollins wants to be the greatest NXT Champion of all time. Rollins says that if Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero or SmackDown General Manager Booker T are watching, they should know that he won’t be competing for them until he has created a long lasting legacy on NXT. Bray Wyatt then rushes to the ring and once again begins to assault the NXT Champion with right and left hands. Percy Watson then rushes to the ring to make the save and Bray Wyatt quickly leaves the ring and heads to the back. Rollins then thanks Percy Watson for his help and Percy will be in one on one action next.

Rating: D+

Percy Watson versus Alexander Rusev

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Percy Watson defeated Alexander Rusev in 8:04 by pinfall with a Flying Cross Body. The NXT Universe inside the sold out NXT Arena were firmly behind Percy Watson during this match after he saved Seth Rollins from the attack by Bray Wyatt before the match began. Watson picked up the win here against the big Russian after hitting a flying crossbody.

Match Rating: E

Marcus Owens versus Bray Wyatt

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Bray Wyatt defeated Marcus Owens in 8:11 by pinfall with a Sitout Powerbomb. The NXT Universe inside the NXT Arena were behind Marcus Owens, making his NXT debut tonight, during tonight’s main event following the assault that Bray Wyatt laid upon the NXT Champion Seth Rollins earlier in the evening until Percy Watson made the save. Earlier on tonight Bray Wyatt’s family of Joey Matthews and Julius Smokes claimed that they had put the entire WWE Universe on notice and Wyatt delivered with a victory here as Julius Smokes and Joey Matthews looked on at ringside.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5e/WWE_Superstars_logo.png

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Superstars:

Jay Briscoe versus Jinder Mahal

The main event on tonight’s episode of WWE Superstars, the first episode of Superstars of 2013, will see Jay Briscoe making his eagerly anticipated WWE television debut as he takes on one third of the three man band known as 3MB, Jinder Mahal. Jay Briscoe has been tweeting all week long that he is looking forward to making his debut in front of the WWE Universe and is eager to impress both Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as well as Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. Jay Briscoe’s opponent tonight, India’s Jinder Mahal, has yet to win a Championship in his few years in the WWE however Jinder Mahal has been having more of an impact on proceedings in the WWE since joining up with Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre last year to form 3MB. Jinder Mahal implements the Camel Clutch to devastating effect during matches, and Jay Briscoe will have to avoid getting caught in the Camel Clutch if he is to stand any chance of leaving his first match on Superstars with an all-important victory. Jay Briscoe may also have to worry about Mahal’s fellow 3MB members Drew McIntyre and Heath Slater, as where there is one member of 3MB it is often the case that the other two members are not too far away. Jinder Mahal clearly thinks a lot of himself, and many would call him an egomaniac. He is also considered to be the “joker” of 3MB. In-ring wise, Jinder Mahal has not had much luck as of late and the only two victories that Mahal has picked up on WWE television since last September are two victories over the former WWE Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson, both of which occurred in the main event of Superstars, one taking place in October and the second victory taking place on the first episode of Superstars in December, last month. For the past three weeks Jinder Mahal has competed against Kofi Kingston in the main event of WWE Superstars, but unfortunately for Jinder Mahal he lost all three of those consecutive matches. Mahal will likely be pleased to be facing different, less experienced competition tonight in the face of Jay Briscoe. Jinder Mahal also competed in the main event of Superstars against the high-flying Mexican sensation known as Sin Cara back on the first episode of Superstars in November, but once again Mahal succumbed to defeat in what was his only other match on television than those already mentioned. With the Royal Rumble fast approaching all of the WWE Superstars are vying for a spot in the 30 Man Royal Rumble match and a victory for Jinder Mahal tonight may well earn him a spot in the prestigious match.

Santino Marella and Zack Ryder versus The Ascension

Tag team action tonight on WWE Superstars will see the “Team CoBro” pairing of Santino Marella and Zack Ryder in action as they take on the dark and mysterious duo known as the Ascension. Formed of the powerhouse Conor O’Brian and the athletic Englishman Kenneth Cameron, the Ascension dominated tag teams in the NXT Arena in front of the NXT Universe on NXT in the early part of last year with several victories. The finishing manoeuvre of the Ascension, known as the Fall of Man, was particularly effective as Kenneth Cameron would run at their opponent face on and hit them with a spinning heel kick whilst Conor O’Brian would simultaneously run at the opponent from behind and take out their knees with a chop block. However, since coming to the WWE, the Ascension have been unable to replicate the success that they had in NXT in front of the WWE Universe. The Ascension are yet to pick up a victory in the WWE despite being given three non-title matches against the WWE Tag Team Champions, the Team Hell No pairing of Kane and Daniel Bryan, on SmackDown by the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. The Ascension have also lost to the team of Trent Barreta and Yoshi Tatsu twice, once on Superstars and once on SmackDown. Jimmy and Jey Uso, twin brothers the Uso’s have also defeated the Ascension for three weeks in a row on Superstars as have the high-flying duo of Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd. For the past three weeks on Superstars the Ascension have lost to the team of Brodus Clay and Alex Riley. It was announced this past week on Monday Night RAW that one of the Ascension’s opponents tonight, Santino Marella, will be taking part in the Royal Rumble match later this month.

Tamina versus Kharma

Finally, Divas action tonight on WWE Superstars will see the daughter of legend Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, Tamina, in action as she takes on the behemoth of a Diva known as Kharma. Tamina is very popular among the WWE Universe and just last week on Superstars Tamina was able to defeat Kharma in what was their first ever one on one match together. For the three weeks before last week Tamina was also successful on Superstars with three consecutive victories over the former WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix. However, on Friday Night SmackDown Tamina has been less successful and lost three matches in a row to then WWE Divas Champion Eve, before Eve was defeated at the TLC Pay-Per-View by Kaitlyn as Kaitlyn became the new Divas Champion in a Triple Threat match also involving Layla. Tamina knows that a second victory over Kharma tonight on Superstars can only help her in impressing Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T and perhaps gaining a future title opportunity. Kharma has been used as the bodyguard for Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as of late and will be hoping to impress Vickie with a victory tonight.

WWE Superstars (Live from Lahaina C.C. Amphitheater (HI), 2,000 in Attendance)

Pre-Show: Layla versus Rosa Mendes

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Layla defeated Rosa Mendes in 17:51 by pinfall with a Lay-Out. Layla and Rosa Mendes have great chemistry as opponents and it showed in their performances tonight in this match. Ultimately it was Layla that picked up the all-important victory here.

Match Rating: C-

Pre-Show: Trent Barreta and Yoshi Tatsu versus Hunico and Camacho

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Trent & Yoshi defeated Hunico & Camacho in 17:51 when Trent Barreta defeated Camacho by pinfall with a Gobstopper Knee. This match was unfortunately too long given who was involved as even though Trent Barreta and Yoshi Tatsu have been teaming for several months now the WWE Universe still don’t seem to be all that interested in them. Despite this, Trent Barreta was still able to pick up the win for his team here after pinning Camacho following his trademark Gobstopper Knee.

Match Rating: D-

Pre-Show: Ezekiel Jackson versus Leo Kruger

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Ezekiel Jackson defeated Leo Kruger in 18:30 by pinfall with The Book Of Ezekiel. Ezekiel Jackson was visibly tiring towards the end of this match as the big man’s conditioning is not his strong point. However, the former Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel was still able to pick up the victory in this one.

Santino Marella and Zack Ryder versus The Ascension

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Team CoBro defeated The Ascension in 8:08 when Santino Marella defeated Kenneth Cameron by submission with a Cobra Clutch. The WWE Superstars commentary team of Josh Matthews, Joey Styles and Matt Striker announced during this match that Zack Ryder will be joining his tag team partner Santino Marella in the Royal Rumble match later this month. Santino picked up the win for his team here after forcing Kenneth Cameron to submit to the Cobra Clutch.

WWE Superstars now airs the RAW rebound, which recaps events from this past week’s Monday Night RAW. The show began with the WWE Champion CM Punk making his way to the ring. Punk proclaimed that 2013 was beginning just how 2012 began and ended, with CM Punk as the WWE Champion. The WWE Universe in attendance booed Punk as he declared that he would defeat the Rock at the Royal Rumble later this month and go on to defend the title in the main event of Wrestlemania. CM Punk claimed that he would go the whole of 2013 as the WWE Champion just as he did 2012. Brock Lesnar then joined CM Punk in the ring and claimed that Lesnar and Punk would win the RAW tag team main event made by the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero with Punk and Lesnar taking on the team of John Cena and Chris Jericho. Lesnar claimed that due to the associations that both Punk and Lesnar have with who he called the intellectual genius Paul Heyman, Punk and Lesnar are the most dominating alliance in the WWE. Later on in the evening we saw John Cena arguing with AJ Lee backstage as AJ was angry following an earlier confrontation with Vickie Guerrero, but John Cena told AJ that he needed to focus on Punk and Lesnar in the evening’s main event. We also saw Chris Jericho backstage on RAW taking to his apparent love interest, Trish Status. Trish told Jericho to be careful against CM Punk and Brock Lesnar in the evening’s tag team main event. The main event saw CM Punk in the ring with three of the favourites for the Royal Rumble match later this month, but only after the Rock had come to the ring before the match to declare that he will defeat CM Punk to become the new WWE Champion at the Royal Rumble. Punk and Lesnar defeated Cena and Jericho in the main event and RAW went off the air with Punk, Lesnar and Paul Heyman celebrating in the ring.

In an extremely short match, Tamina defeated Kharma in 3:04 by pinfall with a Samoan Drop. This was another impressive victory for Tamina who will surely be hoping for an eventual title shot against the winner of Divas Champion Kaitlyn’s title defence against Paige at the Royal Rumble.

WWE Superstars airs highlights from last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown as the show began with Randy Orton coming to the ring following his victory in the Tables match against the Big Show at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs Pay-Per-View last Sunday. Randy Orton announced that he would officially be taking part in the Royal Rumble match, and declared that he would go on to become World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania before he was interrupted by the Big Show. The Big Show also announced that he would be taking part in the Royal Rumble match, and hit Orton with a Chokeslam. The main event saw the new World Champion Alberto Del Rio team with the Big Show to defeat Orton and Sheamus. A tweet is then shown from SmackDown General Manager Booker T announcing that tomorrow night’s SmackDown main event will see Alberto Del Rio take on Kofi Kingston in non-title action.
