Summerslam

Pre Show: United States Title: Jack Swagger vs Antonio Cesaro

Jack has been deadly throughout his reign as United States Champion, making Woods and The Miz both tap out of the Patriot Lock. Antonio was definitely his biggest challenge yet though and the two fought a stiff and entertaining match. Cesaro managed to get Swagger in the Big Swing but Zeb tried to interfer. Some quick thinking from Cesaro helped him launch Jack right into Zeb sending the manager back to the floor outside. From there The Swiss Superman was able to hit the Neutraliser and win the title.

Winner: Antonio Cesaro

Main Show: Tag Team Titles: The Empire vs Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara

The second title to be on the line at the biggest show of the summer were the tag belts. Wade and Sheamus, now known as The Empire have had a very dominant reign since defeating Cody and Goldust back at Wrestlemania. The two continued to prove that there is no stronger and more brutal force in the WWE but Rey and Sin Cara put up one hell of a fight. Rey was taken out by a Brouge Kick but Sin Cara surprised all by having one of the best performances of his career, no matter what Sheamus and Wade did he managed to duck and dive out of the way. When Wade went for the Bull Hammer he was able to roll underneath and pull Wade into a roll up.

Winners: Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara

Seth Rollins vs Luke Harper and Erick Rowan

Rollins is yet to really stand out after The Shield's split a few months back, and if he wants any shot at taking on the Streak then he best start impressing The Deadman. This was definitely a good start, Seth proved that even without Reigns or Ambrose he can take on all comers. Bray, perhaps surprisingly, stayed out of the match, simply watching at ringside and because of this Seth was able to take out Rowan with a Blackout and get the win. Straight after the match however Wyatt was quick to slide in and hit Seth with the Sister Abigail.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Curtis Axel vs Cody Rhodes

Cody and Curtis put on a good match with some nice spots. Orton and Batista were both at ringside to give what they called support and advice to Curtis. It looked much more like the two former world champions were there to intimate Rhodes but any attempt didn't seemed to phase Cody. When Batista tried to get involved the referee sent him away, meanwhile Cody hit the disaster kick to get the win.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

Intercontinental Title: Mark Henry vs Big E Langston

Big E had been looking forward to this day ever since he lost the title at he hands of the world's strongest man but once the match started the former champ received a stark reminder of how he lost the belt in the first place with a big world's strongest slam. Big E almost lost inside the first minute but managed to kick out. The announcers questioned whether Langston could fight his way back in after that momentary lapse of concentration. Big E proved any who doubted his potential by slowly fighting back in and eventually hitting the Big Ending to put Henry away. After the match Henry pulled Langston back but surprised the new champion with a handshake.

Winner: Big E Langston

AJ Lee vs Jerry Lawler

In a very short match AJ managed to get some form of revenge for all the promos Jerry has cut on AJ. Eva tried to help her husband on a few occasions but Paige's presence at ringside was more than enough to keep the divas champion intimated and in her place. AJ managed to lock in the Black Widow, and whilst at first Jerry seemed to enjoy the hold he was soon forced to tap out.

Winner: AJ Lee

Dean Ambrose vs Roman Reigns

Reigns strode down to the ring, seemingly confident that he could put his former friend away but when Ambrose appeared in the stand and began to step closer and closer Roman's whole demeanour changed. Dean managed to control most of the match, methodically placing his punches to keep the juggernaut down. Eventually Reigns was too strong for this and began to pick up momentum and hit huge superman punched but when Ambrose reversed a spear into a DDT he was able to catch Reigns by surprise and get the win.

Winner: Dean Ambrose

Ryback vs Goldberg

The sound of Goldberg's music sent the crowd crazy, Ryback on the other hand seemed unimpressed to see the legend back in the squared circle. The match was what you would expect, nothing fancy but two powerful wrestlers clashing in tests of strength. Ryback certainty seemed in better shape and was able to stay one step ahead of Goldberg but when he was hit with a stiff super kick Ryback was sent reeling which gave Goldberg time to hit the spear. Goldberg signalled for the Jackhammer but Ryback rolled out of the ring. The crowd erupted into boos as The Big Guy simply walked up the ramp shouting that he's out of here leaving Goldberg to win via count out.

Winner: Goldberg

WWE World Heavyweight Title: Daniel Bryan vs CM Punk

A lot of words could be used to describe CM Punk's actions lately... egotistical, spoilt, entitled. He has truly felt that a title shot should be handed to him by Regal. Despite the fact that plenty of other wrestlers could state a claim to being higher on the ladder than Punk, it would be hard for anyone in the WWE to put on a better Summerslam main event with Bryan. The two pushed each other to their limits, at one point the two collided into each other and both only just managed to make the ten count. When Bryan kicked out of a Go 2 Sleep Punk started to get frustrated but when the referee was knocked over it gave him an opportunity. Punk untied the protective cover of a turnbuckle and slammed Bryan's head against it numerous times. Bryan almost got some momentum back but the challenger locked in an Anaconda Vice. Daniel was determined not to give up but a cut on his forehead from the exposed ring post made the Vice even more dangerous. The referee was getting to his feet as Daniel reversed the Vice into the Yes Lock. The crowd chanted for Bryan but Punk was just able to get to the ropes. The two were both exhausted but slowly got to their feet, they traded some stiff punches, Punk went for a roundhouse kick but Bryan ducked and replied with a kick of his own. Punk fell to the ground, Daniel barely had enough energy to ensure he fell on top of Punk but he was able to get the pin.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

Daniel was only just able to get to his feet to celebrate the win. He helped Punk up as a sign of respect but Punk responded by hoisting Daniel up and hitting with a GTS. Punk was celebrating with both titles but was interrupted when John Cena's music played. The crowd popped to see Cena for the first time since his match at Wrestlemania against The Undertaker. Cena ran to the ring and the show ended with a Cena and Punk stare down as the champion lay motionless in between them.

Thoughts on Summerslam

So with these being probably my third biggest PPV of the year I wanted to try make it big. Goldberg coming back is mostly because of that, I don't want to make it too much of habit to people back just for PPV's. I think the only match that will really surprise people is the Tag Titles. I know Wade and Sheamus have been built up higher than Rey and Sin Cara but I wanted to use the stage of Summerslam to really boost Sin Cara and tonight's match will hopefully kick start his career.

I wouldn't normally be happy with a PPV ending which had my champion arguably looking weak but I think it's justifiable. Bryan has been built up a lot over the past few months and he only went down now because his guard was down after a gruelling match. I'm actually happy to have Cena back. I always intended on him having a lot of time out after Taker to really freshen him up. I knew, at least at this point, I don't want to turn him heel but hopefully the time out both let other people rise up the card and would also make people actually excited to see him. Be happy to hear comments about any of it.

I actually still haven't fully workd out what the prize for the prediction contest will be, but the next PPV will be the final one in it, and as you can see it's going to be very close! I will definitely need some tie break questions.

<p><strong>September Recap/Night of Champions Preview</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Cena's return</strong></p><p>

On the first RAW of the month the recently returned John Cena won a battle royale to crown the next challenger for Daniel Bryan. Punk was the last eliminated and has since complained to Regal that he's not in the title picture. The rivalry between Bryan and Cena has been relatively amicable and the two seem ready to put their all in to see who the better man is. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Ryback's Rematch</strong></p><p>

Goldberg was on RAW to announce that the way he sees it, Ryback running from their match proves who the better man is. He wished the WWE universe goodbye but as he was leaving up the ramp he was met with a huge meat hook clothesline. Goldberg has requested and been granted a rematch to get this revenge, and this time the match will have no count outs and no DQ's. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Tag Titles</strong></p><p>

In the PPV's second rematch Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara will attempt to defend their belts against former champions The Empire. Both Sheamus and Wade have targeted Sin Cara throughout the month as they now see him as the main threat. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Divas Title</strong></p><p>

After defeating Jerry, AJ was on course to take the belt of Eva, but when she was preparing to face on the last week of the month The Funkadactlys attacked her backstage. Eva smugly announced that the title match will have to be postponed but AJ made it out to reveal that Paige is going to take her place. Jerry however argued that Eva wasn't prepared for Paige and so managed to push the match to the PPV. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Roman Reigns</strong></p><p>

Ambrose felt confident that after defeating Reigns, he is the front runner on the path to The Streak. In order to push himself back into contention Roman interrupted one of Ambrose's matches with a huge spear. Since then Dean has warned Roman to keep one eye open at all times because he'll be waiting in the shadows to take his revenge. A panicked Roman Reigns has since called upon The Usos for protection. The Usos didn't want to get involved but have made a deal that if Roman helps the brothers to win some gold, they will protect Roman. Reigns has so far come up good on his promise and helped Jimmy win a number one contendership match for the United States Title. <a href="https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GTKMDLM" rel="external nofollow"><strong>Vote on the winner to that match here.</strong></a></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>IC Title</strong></p><p>

Big E Langston was over the moon to reclaim the belt but his celebrations were soon cut short when a returning Kane came out to challenge the champion. Kane has been in NXT as a general manager ever since he was relieved of his duties in Triple H's regime when Punk won control of RAW. Big E has overcome the challenge of veteran Mark Henry to win the belt and now has to take on another seasoned veteran. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Wyatts</strong></p><p>

After the Sister Abigail put Seth away, Bray considered the matter over. However after beating both Harper and Rowan the former Shield member felt that he has earned a match against Bray. After receiving a big pop when he vowed to take down The Wyatt's, Bray came out to accept but warned the crowd that cheering their heroes will only result in their pain at the hands of Sister Abigail. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Evolution 2</strong></p><p>

Batista and Orton were disappointed in Axel for his loss against Cody and even questioned if they have made the right decision in choosing him as their protegee. In order to gain their respect Curtis viscously beat down Cody two weeks in a row. Cody demanded that Regal let him take on Axel but the GM said he would do one better and give him the whole group. Cody was more than happy to put a team together to take them on. His first tag partner was The Big Show after Axel defeating The Giant in a match on RAW. On the final RAW a 3 on 2 brawl broke out which saw Mr Money in the Bank, Dolph Ziggler, run down for the save. </p><p> </p><p>

WWE World Heavyweight Title: Daniel Bryan vs John Cena

No DQ: Ryback vs Goldberg

Batista, Randy Orton and Curtis Axel vs Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler and The Big Show

Tough one... Important to keep MITB strong, and I think Axel will cost his team the 'W'

United States Title: Antonio Cesaro vs Jimmy Uso

Seth Rollins vs Bray Wyatt

Intercontinental Title: Big E Langston vs Kane

Divas Title: Eva Marie vs Paige

Tag Team Titles: Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara vs The Empire

Another strong card... interesting that Jimmy Uso is the Uso Brother to go for singles gold as he did in my diary too :) winning the European Title on that occasion! :) So... No CM Punk... is this something I should get used to in real life? Or is it a work? hmm... as for this show, I sort of see him 'ruining' the 'amicable' Bryan vs Cena match, and setting up a 3-way, while at the same time, allowing Bryan's reign to continue another night...

Night of Champions

Pre Show: Tag Team Titles: Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara vs The Empire

In a Summerslam rematch The Empire had a chance to take the Tag Titles back after their shock loss at the hands of Rey and Sin Cara. This time the former champions didn't underestimate their opponents but they were still unable to ground the high fliers. After an impressive Swanton Bomb Sin Cara was able to pin Barrett to retain the titles. The performance of Rey and Sin Cara should have proved any doubts people have that they are worthy of the belts.

Winners: Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara

Main Show: United States Title: Antonio Cesaro vs Jimmy Uso

In a closely fought opener, Cesaro continued to wow the crowd with his sheer strength. A lot of support is building up for the Swiss Superman but he had his work cut out due to the presence of Jey Uso and Roman Reigns at ringside. Jimmy fought hard but after a big European Uppercut he looked lifeless on the matt. Luckily for him, Jey managed to distract the referee which gave Roman a chance to pull Cesaro outside the ring. He sized him up for a Spear but Ambrose appeared in the crowd and starting making his way to ringside. Reigns saw Ambrose coming and quickly ran off up the ramp. Without Reign's interference, Cesaro was able to big boot Jey, slide in and hit Jimmy with a Neutraliser.

Winner: Antonio Cesaro

Divas Title: Eva Marie vs Paige

There was a big wave of support for the young diva Paige in her PPV debut and it was certainly a big way to make an entrance. Both Jerry and AJ were at ringside and seemed to cancel each other out. Jerry did try to interfere at one point but the former divas champion was quick enough to stop it impacting the match. Despite being the rookie it was clear that Paige was putting Eva through her paces and forcing the champion to up her game. Eva managed to escape Paige and pull her in for a reverse DDT but Paige was able to reverse it and hit the Paige Turner. An emotional Paige celebrated becoming the youngest WWE female champion in history. Prior to the match there were some doubts to whether AJ could be happy for Paige but post match AJ held up her friends arm in victory.

Winner: Paige

Batista, Randy Orton and Curtis Axel vs Cody Rhodes, The Big Show and Dolph Ziggler

The alliance to take on the team of Batista, Orton and Axel worked well together to say that they had been put together just for this purpose. Despite this Axel finally managed to shine and was able to keep up with Orton and Batista, and even got them out of trouble a few times. Orton was still not 100% fit after this injury and so when Cody hit the Disaster Kick it looked like it was over but the pin was broken up. Orton just managed to get the tag and then as Axel managed to keep back The Big Show. Batista hit Cody with a Batista Bomb and got the pin.

Winners: Batista, Randy Orton and Curtis Axel

Intercontinental Title: Big E Langston vs Kane

Big E's first challenge to his second title reign was the returning Big Red Machine. Kane is currently in great shape but without his monstrous side there is the sense that he's not as dangerous as he once was. Despite this he put up a good fight against Langston and forced the young champion to up his game, eventually though Big E was able to pick Kane up and hit a Big Ending to make it defence number one of this title.

Seth Rollins vs Bray Wyatt

After defeating both Harper and Rowan at Summerslam Seth had proved that he was a real threat to Bray. Wyatt stomped his dominance onto the match early on with a big cross body. Rollins battled bravely but the demonic Wyatt was simply too dangerous. Any small mistake Seth made was punished ruthlessly. He was almost able to hit the Blackout but Bray back away and hit the Sister Abigail. After the match Harper and Rowan both came in to get revenge for their defeat and beatdown the helpless Rollins. The two dragged him outside the ring and together rammed him into the steel steps.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

No Disqualification: Ryback vs Goldberg

After their Summerslam match ended via count out when Ryback walked off, Goldberg was ready to teach Ryback a lesson. The Big Guy however put up more of a fight than Goldberg might have expected and managed to out power the legend on a few occasions. Once again Goldberg Speared Ryback and once again he rolled out the ring to escape but because the match is no D.Q, this time Goldberg was able to go after Ryback. The fight went up the ramp but ended well for Ryback, Goldberg attempted a second Spear outside the ring but when Ryback got out the way Goldberg crashed into the barricade. Ryback used this chance to grab a chair and struck Goldberg's back several times. He then pulled Goldberg in the ring but was unable to get a 3 count. Goldberg tried to fight his way back into the match but when Ryback managed to break free from a Jackhammer attempt and hit a Shellshock he got the win. The crowed booed as Ryback celebrated his huge win which he hopes will re-kickstart his career.

Winner: Ryback

WWE World Heavyweight Title: Daniel Bryan vs John Cena

In the huge main event Daniel's impressive reign made a huge roadblock in the name of John Cena. It was Cena's first match since Wrestlemania but if the 14 time world champion was feeling any ring rust then he certainly wasn't letting it show. The two put on a great match, with many close falls which almost saw Bryan drop the belt. After a big AA most truly thought he would but the world champion was able to kick out. Bryan locked in a Yes Lock and the crowd went wild waiting to see Cena tap but he was just able to get to the ropes. Cena rolled out to try and recover but Bryan followed him out. The two traded punches with Cena coming out on top, he then set up the announce table and was able to AA Bryan through it. Cena crawled back into the ring but Daniel was able to beat the ten count. Cena tried to pull Bryan up for another AA but Daniel locked in a second Yes Lock. Cena was struggling not to tap but suddenly Punk's music played. Daniel still didn't release the hold but Punk came from behind with a kick to the champions head causing a disqualification.

Winner: Daniel Bryan via D.Q.

After the bell rang Punk threw Bryan over the ropes, picked up Cena and hit a GTS to end the show.

So congratulations to RKOwnage for claiming top spot again in the contest. I included the top 5 just to show quite how close it was but if anyone else is interested in what they got overall then let me know. So next up there is Battleground/Hell in a Cell/Survivor Series/TLC which will make up the final 4 PPV long prediction contest. It's getting harder to think of big prediction prizes because I have all things planned up to Wrestlemania but I'll do my best. A main part of this first year is to give you all a chance to shape what the WWE looks like when it begins so I guess planning everything out myself might be defeating that. So I wanted to find a way of giving you all the chance to shape things without necessarily messing up my Wrestlemania plans and to do this I'm going let the prediction contest winners decide the results to Wrestlemania matches. That way I can use all my plans but you have a huge affect on what is going on post Wrestlemania in terms of champions, pushes etc. The only possible downfall to this is that some people won't actually get their prize for a bit but hopefully it will be worth it to avoid big spoilers.

So for winning this prediction contest RKOwnage will pick the winner of the WWE World Heavyweight Title match and the Divas match.

The winner of the next 4 month long prediction contest will pick the winner of both the Intercontinental and United States Title matches.

The 2nd place prize for that contest will pick the winners of the Tag Team Title match.

Then after TLC the diary will properly start with weekly RAW. This will begin a 10 show contest (8 Raws, RR and EC) and the winner will get the big prize of picking who wins in The Undertaker's match.

All other matches will be decided in a Pre-Wrestlemania poll.

Thoughts on Night of Champions

I don't think there are many big surprises here, some of you guessed the Punk interference which didn't surprise me really, something which I needed to do for the story. Might have done that on a big RAW if I was doing them. I think Ryback winning might have surprised some, I understand the thought that Goldberg's return could have been bigger and perhaps longer (this is probably the end of their storyline) but I didn't have too much interesting in putting him high up the card, his sole purpose was to get Ryback over. Battleground predictions will be up probably tomorrow, thanks for all the predictions and survey responses so far!

October Round up/Battleground Preview

CM Punk vs John Cena

After Punk's interference in Cena's title shot at NoC, Regal was determined to end the Punk problem once and fall all. It was because of this that he reluctantly gave him one more number one contenders match with the added stipulation that if he does not beat John Cena, he isn't allowed another shot at Bryan. Punk and Cena have had many great matches together and this is unlikely to be different, especially with a title shot at Hell in a Cell on the line.

Feed him more

After defeating Goldberg, Ryback was riding a huge wave of momentum. This impressed Regal enough to grant The Big Guy a world title shot. Daniel has defeated many big names as part of his title reign and so some question whether Ryback has it in him to take the belt of the fan favourite. A big shell shock at the end of RAW provided a bold statement that Ryback himself has no such concerns.

Wyatt

After taking out Seth Rollins the list of 'heroes' that Bray has taken out is getting long. His next target is Mr Money in the Bank Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler was cutting a promo warning Bryan, Ryback, Cena and Punk that no matter what happens at Battleground he can work out with the belt but was interrupted when Bray challenged him to a match. Apparently Bray views Ziggler as one of the biggest liars in the WWE and is desperate to unveil that the fans are cheering for someone who is as normal as themselves.

Batista steps up

The feud between Evolution 2.0 and Cody Rhodes continued throughout the month. Axel once again challenged Cody in order to impress Orton and Batista but Rhodes replied that he was sick of dealing with the lackeys and wanted Batista himself. Batista at first refused but when Cody implied that he'd gotten in wrong and that perhaps Batista was the lackey the Animal agreed to face Cody.

Intercontinental Title

Big E dispatched Kane and defended his title last month but Kane was able to win a second shot. Big E was confident that the match would have the same outcome but on the last RAW of the month Kane brought back the mask. With his monstrous side unleashed it is unsure whether Big E can hold on to the belt.

United States Title

The next challenger for Cesaro's title is the Intellectual Saviour of the Masses, Damien Sandow. Sandow has been unable to build up any momentum as of late but he has vowed to change this by taking out a dominant champion in Antonio. vote on the winner

Divas

With Paige as the new champion the future is looking brighter for the divas division. Before things go any further however AJ has asked her new friend to help her gain revenge for the Funkadactlys. Who beat down last month prevented AJ was challenged Eva and consequently actually lead to Paige's title victory.

Samoan Swat Team

Reigns and The Usos have continued to make a strong team and are still on the search for gold. The agreement is that Reigns will help the Usos win as long as the Usos protect Roman from Dean and try to lead him to gold. Battleground could be a pivotal time for all three members as a 6 man tag between the tag champions, Ambrose, The Usos and Reigns will determine two things. Firstly the winning team will see their captains (Reigns or Ambrose) get a future world title shot but also if the Samoan Swat Team win then The Usos get a title shot at Rey and Sin Cara.
