Owen once again talks about the Montreal Screwjob that occurred at Survivor Series when Vince McMahon, Earl Hebner and Shawn Michaels screwed his brother Bret and he says that at Armageddon he will be repaying the debt in the only way a Hart knows how.</p><p> </p><p> He says that at Armageddon he will beat Shawn Michaels fair and square and take the thing that he prizes the most above all other things, the WWF Championship…</p><p> <strong>(78)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Michaels.jpg</span><span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/ChynaDX.jpg</span><span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TripleH.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> The music for D-Generation X hits and the WWF Champion Shawn Michaels comes down to the ring accompanied by the European Champion Triple H and their bodyguard Chyna. Triple H taunts Owen Hart and jokes about how he’s even less talented than his “hack of a brother”, and Shawn tells Owen that he’ll NEVER get the WWF Championship on his watch.</p><p> </p><p> Owen asks Shawn if he really believes that to be the truth and challenges him to put his title on the line TONIGHT, rather than waiting for Armageddon. “Unless, of course, you’re scared?”</p><p> <strong>(82)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Slaughter.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> Commissioner Slaughter interrupts and stands at the top of the ramp to tell everybody that he cannot grant Owen a title match tonight as they are contractually obligated to fight at Armageddon. JR and King spend the whole match discussing how Kane and Paul Bearer (who is at ringside) have gone out of their way to obstruct the Undertaker at every turn over the last few months. King is certain that the Undertaker will make an appearance during this matchup, and attack his brother as retribution for his recent actions.</p><p> </p><p> The bout itself proves to be a great contest between two superstars not prepared to leave anything on the table. The wrestling itself was not really what you would describe as much of a technical display; as the two heavyweights preferred to stand toe-to-toe and just unload on each other.</p><p> </p><p> In the end Kane picked up the victory after Paul Bearer climbed up on the apron, causing a distraction just long enough for Kane to clothesline Mankind, set him up for the Tombstone Piledriver, and pick up the pinfall.</p><p> </p><p> Once the match is over, the announcers mention that the Undertaker has not been seen at all, and as Kane and Paul Bearer leave the arena, Mankind remains seated in the ring, clearly upset with the loss.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner by pinfall: Kane </strong></p><p> <strong>(83)</strong></p><p> </p><p></p></div></blockquote><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="39863" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p><span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Michaels.jpg</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> We cut backstage to where the WWF Champion is just coming out of the bathroom, when all of a sudden he runs into…</p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> It’s Stone Cold Steve Austin! A grinning Austin seems pleased with himself as security holds him back and spirit Shawn Michaels away to safety.</p><p> <strong>(100)</strong></p><p> </p><p></p></div></blockquote><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="39863" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p><span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BillyGunn.jpg</span><span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Dogg.jpg</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> As we get ready for the WWF Tag Team Championship Number 1 Contender Elimination Tag Match, the New Age Outlaws come down to ringside and join JR and The King at the announce table. The toughness of the Texas Cowboys the Blackjacks goes up against the sheer power of the Road Warriors, the elusiveness of the Headbangers and the determination of the Nation. </p><p> </p><p> The first elimination occurs as Blackjack Windham gets distracted by Faarooq on the outside of the ring and gets blindsided by Thrasher, who rolls him up for the flash pinfall. Thrasher turns around straight into a clothesline from Kama Mustafa who picks up the pinfall and eliminates the Headbangers.</p><p> </p><p> The final two teams left in the contest, the Legion of Doom and the Nation of Domination; battle it out for a further five minutes, with neither willing to give any ground in their quest for gold. In the end the experience of the L.O.D ends up winning through though, as they isolate D’Lo and are able to hit him the Doomsday Device allowing Animal to go for the pin. Kama rushes the ring, however is intercepted by Hawk and referee Mike Chioda counts the 1-2-3.</p><p> </p><p> We cut to Road Dogg and Billy Gunn, who seem less than impressed that they will be facing the men who they originally defeated for the Tag Team Championships in just under three weeks’ time at Armageddon.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner by pinfall: The Legion of Doom </strong></p><p> <strong>(58)</strong></p><p> </p><p></p></div></blockquote><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="39863" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p><span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Taker.jpg</span><span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Cole.jpg</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> We go now to a darkened room somewhere deep in the building where our roving reporter Michael Cole is standing by with the Deadman, the Undertaker himself. He tells everybody that he’s had a bit of tough time of it lately, losing to Kane at Survivor Series and again tonight, as well as losing his chance at a shot at the WWF Championship last week to Owen Hart. He says he’s lacking direction with his career at the moment and that’s why he’s calling out the following guy… Stone Cold Steve Austin.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> The crowd erupts as the Texas Rattlesnake answers Mick Foley’s request to come out to the ring. He grabs a microphone and demands to know what Mankind wants of him, before he whoops his ass all over the arena. Mankind says that he has no beef with Austin, however he is without a match at Armageddon, and now that Owen is facing Shawn Michaels for the WWF Championship Austin won’t have a match he’s interested in for Armageddon either.</p><p> </p><p> “So how about it, Steve? How about you and I put on a show for these fans at Armageddon??”</p><p> </p><p> Mankind stands with his hand outstretched, as Austin considers for a minute, before slapping his hand in acknowledgement of the challenge, and heading back up the ramp. Faarooq grabs a microphone and says how last week the Nation said they would defeat the Disciples of Apocalypse and that’s exactly what they did. He says that The Rock said he would defeat Stone Cold Steve Austin for the Intercontinental Championship, and that’s exactly what he did. He says that unfortunately Kama and D’Lo couldn’t get it done tonight against the Legion of Doom, but they will bounce back and bounce back stronger.</p><p> </p><p> The Rock then grabs the microphone and says that the Nation is stronger than ever before. He says it’s only a matter of time before they add more gold to their championship trophy and then goes on to brag about how Faarooq will make light work of that “big, fat sack of **** Vader, and he doesn’t even need to hang around to watch the destruction.”</p><p> </p><p> With that The Rock drops the microphone and exits the arena. The other three members watch him leave, and it appears they are slightly dumbfounded that he’s not hanging around to watch their leader fight.</p><p> <strong>(68)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vader.jpg</span><span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpg</span><span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/FaarooqNation.jpg</span><span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Kama.jpg</span><span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/DLo.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Vader vs. Faarooq </strong></p><p> </p><p> This match is all about power as two of the heavyweights of the WWF go head to head. Vader and Faarooq trade blow for blow, until D’Lo causes a distraction allowing Faarooq to get the upper hand. D’Lo and Kama then retreat to a safe distance about halfway up the ramp, out of range of any possible retribution from Vader. </p><p> </p><p> They fail to look behind them towards the top of the ramp, however…</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Chainz.jpg</span><span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Skull.jpg</span><span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/8Ball.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> It’s the Disciples of Apocalypse! Chainz, 8-Ball and Skull come running down the ramp and begin to attack the two Nation members, beating them both down and throwing them off the edge of the entrance ramp. Satisfied with this outcome, the bikie gang members leave the arena looking quite pleased with themselves.</p><p> </p><p> Meanwhile back in the ring, Vader manages to regain the upper hand, and without any remaining Nation members at ringside to provide assistance or distractions, he is able to pick Faarooq up and deliver a massive Power Bomb to pick up the victory by pinfall.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner by pinfall: Vader </strong></p><p> <strong>(76)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TheRock.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> Vader stands in the ring with his arms raised in triumph, but doesn’t see notice The Rock charging back down the ramp. Triple H, however doesn’t seem too interested in matching it with Owen technically, instead spending the majority of the match employing evasive manoeuvres and dirty tricks to stay out of range of Hart and any of his deadly submission holds.</p><p> </p><p> In the end though, Triple H slips up and Owen is able to lock him in the Sharpshooter in the middle of the ring. It appears only a matter of time before he will have to submit when out of nowhere…</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> SUPERKICK!!!</p><p> </p><p> Before you can blink the WWF Champion Shawn Michaels is standing in the centre of the ring and Owen Hart is lying flat on his back with his lights knocked out. Austin runs down to the ring and delivers a Stone Cold Stunner to the WWF Champion himself. Triple H attacks, but Austin also hits him with a Stunner. He then sets his sights on Chyna, who this week decides she wants nothing to do with Austin and quietly rolls out of the ring. Austin then signals for his beers, and tips them over the faces of the prone Michaels and Helmsley.</p><p> </p><p> For the second week in a row D-Generation X’s plans to take out Owen Hart before Armageddon have been thwarted by the Texas Rattlesnake!!</p><p> <strong>(93)</strong></p><p> </p><p></p></div></blockquote><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong><em>Final Show Rating: 90</em></strong></p><p> </p></div><p></p>

PREDICTION CONTEST RESULTS

Ok, so I wanted to run a weekly prediction contest to reward the guys who take the time to vote each week (and so far you're all doing a fantastic job), but I couldn't really bring myself to score it the "traditional" way and hand it to whoever gets the most tips right, because this could obviously favour the guys who go last.

So, what I've decided instead is that after every show and PPV I will select a "weekly winner" out of who I personally think selected the best card. So it may be you came up with a novel idea I really liked, or you may have selected a matchup that I really liked but it got voted down or you may have just simply selected the best overall card in my opinion.

So having said that, here are my selections for the first two weeks:

Raw is War, Week 1, December 1997: packerman120

Raw is War, Week 2, December 1997: Satyr24

Congratulations guys, I'll be in-boxing you shortly with your prize. Once again, a massive thank you to everyone else for your predictions, this is working out even better than I originally anticipated, and it would be nothing without all of your great ideas!

WWF RAW IS WAR, Monday Week 3, December 1997

Announcers: Jim Ross, Jerry “The King” Lawler

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JR.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/King.jpg

We are welcomed once again to Raw is War by Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler and we are less than two weeks away from Armageddon, where Owen Hart will challenge the man who screwed his brother Bret for the WWF Championship, the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels. The King and JR discuss the events of the last two weeks, which have ended in identical fashion, with D-Generation X completely dominated by one man…. Stone Cold Steve Austin.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Michaels.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/ChynaDX.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TripleH.jpg

D-Generation X comes sauntering down to the ring amidst a loud chorus of boos as Shawn Michaels grabs a microphone to talk about two people… Owen Hart and Stone Cold Steve Austin. He says that Owen Hart is the less talented of the Hart brothers, and has only gotten where he is due to riding the coat-tails of his older brother Bret, but at Armageddon he’ll put him away for good.

Michaels goes on to say that as for Austin, the last few weeks Austin has been sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong… in D-Generation X’s business. He warns Austin that if he tries it again they will be ready for him, and he won’t even make it to Armageddon to be messed up by Mick Foley.

(86)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Slaughter.jpg

DX is interrupted as Commissioner Slaughter comes out to ringside. As usual, Michaels and Helmsley imitate the Commissioner and try to get under his skin, but he’s seemingly unfazed by this. Slaughter takes a microphone for himself and tells Triple H that he shouldn’t be so worried about Austin or Owen or even about Shawn and his WWF Championship. Because Triple H has his own title to defend and tonight there’ll be a Number 1 Contender’s match for the European Championship between Ken Shamrock and Goldust, with the winner facing Triple H at Armageddon.

He then goes on to say that Vader has a chance tonight to earn an Intercontinental Championship match against The Rock at Armageddon, provided he and a partner of his choice can defeat two members of the Nation. He also states that the owner of the WWF, Vince McMahon himself, will be here later tonight to address the simmering tension between the Undertaker and his younger brother Kane.

Finally, he goes on to tell Shawn Michaels that he and Owen Hart will be participating in a “Pick Your Poison” contest tonight, where they each get to choose who their Armageddon opponent has to face tonight. Michaels wastes absolutely no time in all at nominating Triple H to fight the Number 1 Contender Owen Hart for the second week in a row.

Triple H seems less than impressed by this prospect, however, and as we go to our first commercial break Michaels seems to be trying to calm him down.

Road Dogg vs. Animal

Our first match of the evening sees two of the competitors in the WWF Tag Team Championship match at Armageddon going head-to-head in singles action. This match proves to be a fairly good one, as Road Dogg and Animal show some naturally fantastic chemistry. Despite trying to interject himself wherever possible, Billy Gunn is eventually taken out on the outside of the ring by Hawk, which is enough of a distraction for Road Dogg to allow Animal to hit him with a Power Bomb and pick up the pinfall.

JR speculates that the Legion of Doom has way too much experience to fall for any of the New Age Outlaws’ cheap tricks at Armageddon and should be odds on to get their titles back.

Winner by pinfall: Animal

(62)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Mankind.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Cole.jpg

We come back from the commercial break to find Michael Cole standing by with the man who will face Stone Cold Steve Austin at Armageddon, Mankind. Mankind says that he holds no ill-will towards Austin whatsoever, however at Armageddon he wants to give the WWF audience one hell of a matchup. He says that he’s even prepared to let Austin choose the stipulation for their match, PROVIDED there’s two things… no disqualification and no count-out!!

(79)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TripleH.jpg

We go back to ringside as the European Champion Triple H joins the Announce Desk for the No 1 Contender Match for his own title. He comments to King that he’s not even sure why he’s bothering, considering the two “challengers” are so far below his league that it’s not even funny.

(84)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shamrock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goldust.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Luna.jpg

Ken Shamrock vs. Goldust

European Championship No 1 Contender

This one actually turns out to be a very competitive match between two highly talented WWF superstars. Both Ken Shamrock and Goldust probably lack that X-factor to get to the very top in this industry, but they both are very technically gifted, and are able to put on a great performance tonight. In the end, Shamrock is able to hit Goldust with a Belly to Belly Suplex to pick up the pinfall and the right to challenge Triple H at Armageddon for the European Championship.

Unfortunately, by the time this match came to its conclusion, Triple H has already left in disgust claiming that neither of these competitors was fit to shine his shoes.

Winner by pinfall: Ken Shamrock

(67)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpg

As we come back from the commercial break we find the owner of the WWF, Vince McMahon striding out to the ring with a clear purpose. He says that the Undertaker/Kane fiasco has been dragging on for longer than he likes, so he’s going to take action to give them both the power to sort it out. He says the way he’s going to achieve this is by giving them both matches at Armageddon against two of the brighter up-and-coming talents in the WWF today… Kane will take on Ahmed Johnson, while the Undertaker will face Jeff Jarrett.

Now, he goes on to say, if either Jarrett or Johnson can secure an unlikely victory against their opponents, they will gain a title shot at a championship of their choice in the not too distant future. But if Kane or the Undertaker gets a victory, they get to choose a stipulation or match for their brother next month, thus deciding their destiny.

(80)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Owen.jpg

Vince then departs the arena, and runs into none other than Owen Hart in one of the backstage corridors. Owen taunts Vince and says that WHEN he beats Shawn Michaels at Armageddon for the WWF Championship, Vince will once again have to contend with a Hart owning the greatest prize in his industry. He also says that when he wins the title he’ll be granting a title shot to another man Vince despises… Stone Cold Steve Austin.

He then goes on to tell Vince that speaking of Austin, that’s who he’s decided will meet Shawn Michaels tonight in his Pick Your Poison match. That’s right; the WWF Champion will face off against none other than the Texas Rattlesnake himself!

(72)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/FaarooqNation.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TheRock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kama.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DLo.jpg

We go back down to ringside where the Nation of Domination has assembled for their tag team matchup against Vader and a partner of his choice. There seems to be a fair bit of discussion amongst themselves and it appears that Faarooq thought The Rock would accompany him in this match tonight; however The Rock doesn’t seem interested at all!

In the end D’Lo steps up and it will be Faarooq and D’Lo Brown up against Team Vader.

(61)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vader.jpg

The Mastodon comes out to the top of the ramp and introduces us to his partner for tonight’s match…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Blackman.jpg

It’s the Lethal Weapon, Steve Blackman! Blackman and Vader waste no time charging down to the ring to square off against the Nation.

(70)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/FaarooqNation.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DLo.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/TheRock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Kama.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vader.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Blackman.jpg

Faarooq and D'Lo Brown vs. Vader and Steve Blackman

It’s obvious from the get-go that the key disadvantage against Vader’s sheer power and Blackman’s martial arts is the numbers of the Nation. Every time Team Vader begins to get an upper hand over Faarooq or D’Lo, either Kama or The Rock on the outside get involved to tip the scales back in the balance of their stablemates.

That is, of course, until the Nation’s favourite bikies make an appearance…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Chainz.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Skull.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/8Ball.jpg

The Disciples of Apocalypse come down to ringside and straight away take it to Kama and The Rock, in turn providing the relief required for Vader to hit D’Lo with a Vader Bomb and pick up the pinfall.

Vader will be facing The Rock at Armageddon for the Intercontinental Championship!

Winner by pinfall: Vader and Steve Blackman

(56)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Michaels.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/ChynaDX.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TripleH.jpg

We go back to D-Generation X’s locker room where Triple H is getting ready for his matchup while at the same time complaining to Shawn Michaels about choosing him to be Owen’s opponent for the second week in a row without consulting him first. Michaels tells Helmsley to relax, as he has a plan, but at that moment they see the camera and usher the cameraman out of the dressing room.

(79)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jarrett.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Johnson.jpg

We then go to the backstage common area where Jeff Jarrett and Ahmed Johnson are discussing the massive opportunity they have both been given by Vince McMahon. If either of them are victorious in their matches against the Undertaker or Kane then they could even challenge for the WWF Championship if they so desire!

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/KaneOld.jpg

But they are interrupted in their musing by none other than the monster Kane himself!! Kane comes flying in out of nowhere, clotheslines Ahmed Johnson into a wall before picking up Jeff Jarrett and chokeslamming him through a nearby table. He then goes back to Johnson’s prone form, picks him up and delivers him a Tombstone Piledriver on the cold cement floor.

(71)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TripleH.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Michaels.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/ChynaDX.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Owen.jpg

Triple H vs. Owen Hart

Owen Hart comes out to the ring for this contest and is sporting a visible limp from where Shawn Michaels assaulted him with a steel chair on Raw last week. And when the match begins Triple H wastes no time in exploiting the injured leg of Owen, continually focussing in on his leg and trying to take Owen off his feet wherever possible.

Owen tries to fights back bravely however, but whenever he looks to build any sort of offense he is taken down by a chop to the leg from Triple H, who goes on to lock Owen in multiple ankle locks, only breaking the hold when referee Tim White makes a four-count.

In the end though, Triple H’s wearing tactics seem to be taking their toll, and he sets Owen up for the Pedigree, only to be distracted by…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shamrock.jpg

It’s Ken Shamrock! The man that Triple H will face at Armageddon for the European Championship is standing at the top of the ramp watching the matchup intently. Triple H sees him and drops Owen to the mat; going over to the rope and shouting abuse back up at Shamrock. Triple H then turns around directly into a clothesline from Owen, who then locks in the Sharpshooter in the centre of the ring.

Triple H has no option but to tap out, thus losing to Owen Hart for the second week in a row.

Winner by Submission: Owen Hart

(87)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Taker.jpg

We come back from our final commercial break to find the Undertaker standing in a graveyard. He says that he’s tried to make peace with his brother Kane; he’s said that he will not harm his brother; in fact he has reached out to him on multiple occasions to join him so that side by side they can be the most dominant force in WWF history.

But he says that his brother has continually ignored him, and for that he will eventually pay the price. After the Undertaker has disposed of Jeff Jarrett at Armageddon, Kane’s future will ultimately be in the hands of the Undertaker, and he may very well end up resting… in… peace.

(92)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Michaels.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/TripleH.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/ChynaDX.jpg

Steve Austin vs. Shawn Michaels

We go down to ringside for our final match of the evening as the victorious Owen Hart joins the announce team for the Main Event of his own choosing… the WWF Champion Shawn Michaels going head-to-head with Stone Cold Steve Austin. This proves to be a bit of disaster, as Owen and Jim Ross naturally have horrible chemistry, and end up repeatedly cutting each other off throughout the broadcast.

The match itself is a little bit flat too, and doesn’t quite reach the standard that you’d expect to see from these two great athletes. They go at it hammer and tong for the best part of fifteen minutes, but it doesn’t quite reach the heights of even Triple H and Owen Hart in the match before.

As the contest wears on, we see Austin’s brawling style tempered by HBK’s natural flair, with Austin’s sheer grit slowly getting him the upper hand over his fancier opponent. Just as it seems the Texas Rattlesnake is about to put the Heartbreak Kid away, however, Chyna distracts referee Earl Hebner long enough for Triple H to slide a steel chair into the ring and Michaels to take out Austin once and for all.

Hebner turns around just in time to count the 1-2-3 and hand the WWF Champion the victory.

Winner by pinfall: Shawn Michaels

(73)

And true to his words earlier in the night, Michaels continues his assault on the unconscious Austin, brutally attacking him with the steel chair after the bell. Owen Hart slides into the ring and limps to his aid, taking it to Michaels with a flurry of punches, before Chyna nails him with a low blow and Triple H comes across the top and takes him out with the European Championship title belt.

From there, D-Generation X continues their assault on Austin and Owen, brutally beating them down further with steel chairs. As we go off the air we see Michaels, Helmsley and Chyna standing victorious over the fallen bodies of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Owen Hart. Tonight has well and truly been D-Generation X’s night!!

A big congrats to K-Nection who is the weekly winner for Raw is War, Week 3, December 1997. Apart from picking a good card, K-Nection came up with the Undertaker/Kane "brotherly stipulation", a stipulation that not only I liked and used, but several other posters also went with.

Nice work K-Nection, I've sent you your prize by PM.
