WWF Championship

Owen Hart vs. Shawn Michaels ©

I hate to go with the crowd, mainly because I have always disliked HBK going back to his days with the Rockers. But I do think he should hold the title until Steve Austin takes it away from him.

First Blood

Mankind vs. Steve Austin

WWF Intercontinental Championship

Vader vs. The Rock ©

WWF Tag Team Championship

Legion of Doom vs. New Age Outlaws ©

Their the Road Warriors, one of the best tag teams in wrestling history, even though it is a lost cause because I am the only one to pick them to win thus far I think they should get the win here.

They only guy in DOA that I think is worth keeping is Brain Lee, so maybe there is a way to keep him. You could possibly bring him back as the fake Undertaker again and use him in the feud with Kane.

CASH IN MY PRIZE HERE: On Raw DOA convince Commisoner Slaughter to put all the blame on Chainz, thus they keep their jobs and Chainz is gone.

Throughout January DOA are randomly and mysteriously attacked. A masked character has been seen backstage. At the Royal Rumble the masked character, although not officially part of the show, helps with the elimination of DOA.

Not a bad suggestion indeed, but I need to discuss this with you offline. I'll shoot you another PM.

Mr Socko Debut was 10/5/98

Not in this universe it wasn't. :)

Don't worry, anyone being "fired" will simply be going back to Development for a spell. Who knows who may appear again in the future and in what capacity??

I do think Owen should get a reign with the strap, but unfortunately not yet. Michaels needs to lose it on the big stage.

Hahaha, if you reread Raw I've changed the wording from "Mr Socko" to just "an old dirty sock". We'll have a formal introduction soon.

Thanks for the feedback too, appreciate it.

WWF ARMAGEDDON, Sunday Week 4, December 1997

Announcers: Jim Ross, Jerry “The King” Lawler

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JR.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/King.jpg

Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to WWF Armageddon and promise that tonight is going to be absolutely massive. They speculate whether Owen Hart will be able to avenge his family line and capture the WWF Championship from Shawn Michaels (JR thinks he can, King thinks he’s no chance at all).

They briefly go on to discuss the fact that all four major championships in the WWF will be defended tonight, as well as Jeff Jarrett and Ahmed Johnson’s big opportunities in their respective “Title Shot vs. Brotherly Stipulation” matches against the Undertaker and Kane, the Loser Leaves Town elimination tag match that will see either The Nation of Domination or Disciples of Apocalypse pack up their bags forever as well as the “massive” First Blood match between Mankind and Stone Cold Steve Austin…

(77)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

And speaking of the man himself, the immensely popular Texas Rattlesnake comes striding down to the ring for the first tonight to a massive ovation from this sold out arena. JR comments how the popularity of Austin seems to be rising on a weekly basis while the King complains that he should be ought to be back down to earth with a thud, and soon.

Austin says that tonight he and Mankind are prepared to “whoop each other’s ass and put on one hell of a match” as they will attempt to make each other bleed. He then says that once it’s all said and done he’ll be moving on and gunning for either Shawn Michaels or Owen Hart or whoever holds the WWF Championship…

(90)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpg

Austin is interrupted as the owner of the World Wrestling Federation, Vince McMahon, comes out and informs him that there’s "no chance in hell" that he'll EVER get a WWF title-shot while on his watch, and he may as well be happy with First Blood matches and other gimmicky events such as this as that’s going to be the highlight of his career in the WWF.

Austin tells Vince that he couldn’t care less what he thinks, and that he’ll just win the Royal Rumble in January and get his title shot that way. Vince follows up by telling Austin that that’s all well and good, but if he loses his match against Mick Foley tonight, he won’t even qualify for the Royal Rumble.

Vince leaves the arena to a loud chorus of boos, while Austin stands in the ring looking thoughtful.

(94)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/FaarooqNation.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kama.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DLo.jpg

The Nation of Domination come down to the ring for their big "do or die" match against the Disciples of Apocalypse and JR points out how The Rock is “noticeable by his absence”. King responds by saying that The Rock has his own important Intercontinental Championship matchup to be preparing for tonight, and he can’t be “getting distracted by this rubbish.”

“Really?” asks JR, “He can’t be distracted by the survival of his own stable-mates?”

(55)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/FaarooqNation.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kama.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DLo.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Chainz.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Skull.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/8Ball.jpg

The Nation of Domination vs. Disciples of Apocalypse

Loser Leaves Town 6-Man Elimination Tag

This one equates more to a fight than a wrestling match as six big men go at it in the very fight for their survival. After ten minutes of solid action, the eliminations begin to come quick and fast when D’Lo Brown is facing off against Skull and hits him with a sudden Lo Down to eliminate him. Skull’s twin brother 8-Ball comes charging into the ring to attack D’Lo, who promptly ducks the blow and hits him with an identical Lo Down for the second elimination of the match!

With the numbers game clearly stacked against him, Chainz charges the ring and hits D’Lo with a Primetime Slam to take him out of commission. Kama then comes in to the ring to face the leader of DOA, who greets him with a flurry of lefts and rights and pins him back in the corner. Unknown to Chainz, however, Farooq makes the blind tag, and just as Chainz is hitting Kama with a Primetime Slam, Faarooq enters the ring, hits Chainz with a Dominator and picks up the victory!!

The Disciples of Apocalypse have lost the match and have to leave the WWF, effective immediately! The three bikie gang members regather on the outside of the ring, embrace and salute the crowd as they leave a WWF arena for the very last time. To be fair though, the WWF crowd can only be described as ambivalent at best.

Winner by pinfall: The Nation of Domination. As a result of this match Disciples of Apocalypse must leave the WWF.

(45)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Taker.jpg

We cut to a dark room somewhere in the depths of the building, as we hear the Undertaker’s deep voice saying that this thing with Kane will end soon, as after tonight he will hold his little brother’s destiny in his own hands. And if Kane continues to shun the Undertaker and take heed of Paul Bearer instead, then he will find his fate sealed… forever.

(91)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Michaels.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/ChynaDX.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TripleH.jpg

We go to D-Generation X’s locker room where Triple H is shown getting ready for his European Championship matchup against Jen Shamrock later tonight. Shawn Michaels asks him whether he’ll be alright in tonight’s match and whether he needs him to “have his back”.

Triple H laughs and responds with “It’s Ken f***ing Shamrock, Shawn… I think I’ve got this one, thanks.”

(73)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Johnson.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/KaneOld.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Bearer.jpg

Ahmed Johnson vs. Kane

Title Shot vs. Brotherly Stipulation

This is the first of the two matchups between an up-and-coming young superstar in the WWF and one of the monstrous brothers of darkness. JR talks up the opportunity that Ahmed has here to gain a title shot of his choice, meaning that he could even challenge the winner of tonight’s matchup between Owen Hart and Shawn Michaels for the WWF Championship! Conversely, King talks about how when Kane gets the victory he will have the power in his burnt hands to decide the Undertaker’s future with a stipulation of his choice.

In the end though, the match itself is a bit of a non-event, as Kane dominates Ahmed Johnson from pillar to post and eventually puts him away with a thunderous Choke Slam followed up by a Tombstone Piledriver. Johnson never really stood a chance tonight against a fired up Kane.

Winner by pinfall: Kane. Kane secures a stipulation to use against his brother The Undertaker in the near future.

(73)

The match is finished but Kane is not done with Ahmed Johnson just yet! In what is clearly an ominous warning to the brother whose destiny he now holds in his hands, Kane picks up Ahmed Johnson and gives him another Tombstone Piledriver, and then ANOTHER, until finally the ring is flooded with WWF officials who separate the big red monster from his lifeless victim.

(78)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/FaarooqNation.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TheRock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kama.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DLo.jpg

We go backstage now to where The Rock is warming up for his Intercontinental Championship matchup against Vader later tonight. The rest of his Nation of Domination stablemates come into the locker room and The Rock congratulates them for their big win earlier.

Faarooq gets in Rock’s face and angrily asks him where he was when they were fighting for their survival. The Rock responds that he was busy preparing for his title match against Vader later tonight and they obviously didn’t need his help anyway!

Faarooq coolly responds that in that case, The Rock doesn’t need the Nation’s help tonight against Vader, and promises they won’t get involved.

The Rock looks less than impressed at this revelation as Faarooq, Kama and D’Lo file out of his locker room.

(64)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shamrock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TripleH.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/ChynaDX.jpg

Ken Shamrock vs. Triple H

WWF European Championship

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WWFEuropean.jpg

Our first title match of the evening showcases “the World’s Most Dangerous Man” Ken Shamrock challenging the ultra-cocky Triple H for the European Championship. And Triple H has every reason to be cocky, as he spends the majority of the match toying with Shamrock, with takedown after takedown, as well as disrespectful slaps around the face and constant taunting.

The match appears to be all but over as Triple H locks Shamrock in for the Pedigree; however Shamrock somehow manages to reverse the Pedigree into a quick rollup! Triple H kicks out, but not before referee Tim White makes the three-count! Ken Shamrock has upset Triple H and stolen his European title out from under his very nose!!

Winner by pinfall: Ken Shamrock. Ken Shamrock wins the WWF European title.

(53)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TheRock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Cole.jpg

We go now to Michael Cole who is standing by with the Intercontinental Champion The Rock. The Rock says that he doesn’t need the Nation’s help to beat “that fat sack of sh** Vader”, in fact The Rock doesn’t need ANYBODY’s assistance to beat anybody in the WWF.

The Rock will go out there and show everybody why The Rock is the most electrifying man in sports entertainment today, apparently.

(80)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Mankind.jpg

We go back to the ring where the man who will face Stone Cold Steve Austin tonight in a First Blood match is making his way down the ramp. Mankind climbs into the ring and grabs a microphone and says that nobody has been asking him about his first blood match against Austin this week; in fact all anyone seems to be interested in is “What is the deal with the sock you shoved down Vince’s throat on Raw?”

Mankind then pulls that same dirty sock out of the front of his pants, which happens to have a smiley face on it. He introduces the world to Mr Socko, who he says is his new best friend. JR comments that it appears that Mick Foley has finally had one too many chair shots to the head!!

But on a more serious note, Mankind then goes on to say that in tonight’s matchup against Stone Cold Steve Austin, he will give his all, Stone Cold will give his all, and they will leave this crowd completely blown away in their quest to spill each other’s blood. And prevail he will, as he shows once again why he is the original king of hardcore.

(79)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jarrett.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Taker.jpg

Jeff Jarrett vs. The Undertaker

Title Shot vs. Brotherly Stipulation

Once again the opportunities in this matchup are significant for both competitors, as the King points out how Jeff Jarrett could get a title shot of his choosing by defeating the Undertaker here tonight, while JR discusses how the Undertaker could take his own destiny back into his hands by securing the victory, and thus earning a stipulation to use back against his brother Kane.

This one is a much more evenly fought contest than the match between Ahmed Johnson and the Undertaker’s younger brother Kane. These two competitors both get plenty of offence in, but it is the experience of the Undertaker that wins out, as he is able to reverse Jeff Jarrett’s Figure Four Leglock, causing Jarrett himself to have to tap out!

Winner by submission: The Undertaker. The Undertaker secures a stipulation to use against his brother Kane in the near future.

(82)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/KaneOld.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Bearer.jpg

No sooner does the Undertaker break his hold than he is once again set upon by his brother Kane under the direction of the twisted Paul Bearer!

But this time around, and to the shock of Kane, the Undertaker fights back!! He blocks Kane’s attempted Chokeslam, hits him with a flurry of lefts and rights, causing Kane to hastily exit the ring and retreat back up the ramp. The Undertaker then slashes his finger across his throat, signifying that he’s not prepared to take anymore punishment from his younger brother.

(100)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Michaels.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Cole.jpg

We then go backstage to Michael Cole, who is with the WWF Champion Shawn Michaels and he asks him whether he’s ready for Owen Hart. HBK responds by saying that he knows what everyone thinks, that everyone thinks he can’t win without the help of Chyna or Triple H. Well tonight he’s barring the other members of D-Generation X from ringside, tonight he’s going to prove to everybody why he’s the showstopper, the Heartbreak Kid, etc etc etc.

He goes on for a fair bit there.

(79)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vader.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TheRock.jpg

Vader vs. The Rock

WWF Intercontinental Championship

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WWFIntercontinental.jpg

For a man who said he doesn’t need any help from his Nation stablemates, The Rock certainly did a good job of proving why he probably does as Vader absolutely beats him all over the ring. While King bemoans the fact that the Nation aren’t coming to the aid of “poor Rocky”, JR says that perhaps there is karma in the WWF after all and the brash young Rock may actually learn a few manners here.

The end looks like being near when Vader whips The Rock into referee Chad Patton, knocking him out of the ring. Vader then hits The Rock with a Vader Bomb and pins him… but there’s no referee to make the count.

Vader then looks up to see standing over him…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Henry.jpg

Who is this man?? This absolute giant of a man picks up Vader and slams him into the mat like he’s slamming a rag-doll. He then pulls The Rock over and makes the cover. The mystery assailant then exits the ring and wakes up Patton before sending him back in to make the three-count. The Rock has won, but he didn’t do it alone!

Winner by pinfall: The Rock. The Rock makes defence number 1 of his WWF Intercontinental title.

(70)

After the bell rings, The Rock’s mysterious friend comes back into the ring, revives The Rock and raises his arm in triumph. The two of them then set about laying the boots into Vader, before this monster picks him up and gives him another thunderous slam into the mat.

(71)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hawk.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Animal.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Sunny.jpg

The Legion of Doom come out to the ring and they are accompanied by none other than Sunny! They talk about how Sunny is now managing them, and they will crush the New Age Outlaws like they have the past two weeks on Raw in singles action and regain what is rightfully theirs.

(51)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hawk.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Animal.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Sunny.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BillyGunn.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Dogg.jpg

Legion of Doom vs. New Age Outlaws

WWF Tag Team Championship

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WWFTag.jpg

As much as the Legion of Doom seem eager to fight, the New Age Outlaws seem prepared to evade. And that’s pretty much how this one goes down, with Road Dogg and Billy Gunn pulling out all the stalling tactics they can to try and prevent being isolated and beaten down by their monstrous opponents.

Finally Animal is beating down Road Dogg, trapped in the corner of the ring with nowhere to hide, when all of a sudden, at the top of the ramp…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Mabel.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Mo.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Terri.jpg

It’s Men on a Mission… and they’re accompanied by Marlena!! They come striding down the ramp purposefully, and as Animal is demanding to know what they are doing in the WWF, Road Dogg makes a hot tag to Billy Gunn, who races into the ring and hits Animal with a Fameasser, knocking him clean out. Hawk comes in to break up the three-count, but is intercepted by Road Dogg.

The Outlaws have once again stolen a victory from the Legion of Doom!

Winner by pinfall: New Age Outlaws. New Age Outlaws make defence number 2 of their WWF Tag Team titles.

(69)

After the match is complete, the Outlaws gather up their titles and retreat up the ramp, while Mabel and Mo enter the ring. Before the Road Warriors get a chance to defend themselves, they are set upon by these two giants, who brutally beat them both down to the mat. Whatever could the returning Men on a Mission want with the Legion of Doom??

(55)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Owen.jpg

We go now to a pre-taped segment where Owen Hart gives an emotional interview about Shawn Michaels, Vince McMahon, his brother Brett and Survivor Series. He says he’s been speaking to his brother in the lead-up to Armageddon and even though he can’t be there physically, he knows that he’s in his corner in spirit, and that will be enough to get him over the line.

He says it’s time for him to restore the shattered credibility of the World Wrestling Federation, and that begins when he shuts up Shawn Michaels for the final time and takes back the WWF Championship for the Hart family where it belongs.

(78)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Mankind.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

Mankind vs. Steve Austin

First Blood

Well, there’s not a lot to be said about this match other than how you’d expect it to go. These two fantastic superstars, both at the height of their popularity, just absolutely give it to each other for the best part of twenty minutes. Needless to say, there’s not a lot of submission holds or great technical prowess on display, just these two men going at it hammer and tong with anything and everything they can get their hands on.

JR comments that the added incentive for this match for Stone Cold Steve Austin is that Vince McMahon’s comments earlier about Austin not being eligible for the Royal Rumble should he lose this match tonight. But, speak of the devil…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vince.jpg

As this match is reaching its climax, the owner of the World Wrestling Federation comes down to the ring, steel chair in hand. He slides into the ring, sizes up Austin, and blasts him across the head with the steel chair!!

And… absolutely nothing, no blood at all!! Vince sizes him up again, takes another swing at Austin, who this time ducks out of the way leading to Vince accidentally nailing Mankind square in the face with the steel chair! Austin then hits Vince with a Stone Cold Stunner, but as he turns back to Mankind he sees claret beginning to flow from underneath his mask.

Stone Cold Steve Austin has won that match!

Winner by first blood: Steve Austin

(80)

As the referee calls for the bell, Austin picks Vince back up off the mat, gives him the double bird and gives him another Stunner for good measure, leading to the crowd almost tearing themselves apart in delight.

(91)

Austin then turns around to be confronted by a weary Mankind, breeding profusely out of a gash in the side of his face. They stand eye-to-eye for a few seconds before Austin extends his hand. Mankind shakes it, Austin calls for a few beers and they share a drink, as the audience again goes wild.

Austin and Mankind have delivered on the match they promised for the fans!

(100)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Owen.jpg

We’ve reached our Main Event of the evening and as the challenger Owen Hart comes down to the ring JR notes that he’s never seen him look more focussed than he does tonight.

(84)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Michaels.jpg

Owen is then followed out by the Heartbreak Kid and WWF Champion, Shawn Michaels. True to his word, Michaels comes out to the ring without Chyna or Triple H, and he also looks focussed and ready for action.

(70)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Owen.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Michaels.jpg

Owen Hart vs. Shawn Michaels

WWF Championship

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WWF-1.jpg

While this match might have lacked the sheer brutality of Austin and Mankind, or even the surprisingly great quality of Jeff Jarrett and the Undertaker, this one will still go down as one of the better matches in recent times between two fantastic competitors.

Owen doesn’t hold back in the slightest in this one, as he finally gets his chance to exact revenge on Shawn Michaels for his awful treatment of his brother Brett in his last ever match in the WWF at Survivor Series. Michaels is equally focussed though, and JR praises how he’s at the top of his game as these two trade blows, wrestling holds and high risk move after high risk move.

The end comes after about twenty-five minutes of solid action where the two competitors throw absolutely everything at each other. Owen has Michaels in the centre of the ring and is attempting to lock him in the Sharpshooter when Michaels manages to kick free of the hold, jump to his feet and connect with Sweet Chin Music!! Referee Earl Hebner, the man embroiled in the Montreal Screwjob counts the 1-2-3, although this time there is no doubt!

Winner by pinfall: Shawn Michaels. Shawn Michaels makes defence number 1 of his WWF Championship.

(79)

A completely battered and bruised Shawn Michaels is handed the WWF Championship by Earl Hebner and he climbs the turnbuckle to hold it up to the crowd. The audience begrudgingly gives him a cheer, as many acknowledge the amazing fight he put up tonight against a superb opponent in Owen Hart.

(90)

Michaels comes back off the top rope to walk straight into…

A STONE COLD STUNNER!! The Texas Rattlesnake was lying in wait for the WWF Champion, and hits him with the Stunner the second his feet regain the mat. For the second time tonight Austin calls for the beers and that’s how we go off the air, with Stone Cold Steve Austin on the turnbuckle drinking beer and saluting this ecstatic crowd.

Bring on January and the Royal Rumble!!

A massive thank you to everybody who voted for Armageddon and indeed in this first month of the Dynasty. When I started this dynasty I wasn't sure how it would work out, but this has gone better than I could've even imagined, and the proof is in the pudding, with every single one of the eight matches on the PPV card set-up by each and every one of you every week, and every match decided by your votes. I'm delighted and I hope you've all enjoyed it too as we begin along the Road to Wrestlemania.

The winner of the Armageddon prediction contest is Beejus, who actually picked the card 100% how I would've picked it if I were booking the event myself. Congratulations Beej, your prize is "in the mail".

WWF RAW IS WAR, Monday Week 1, January 1998

Announcers: Jim Ross, Jerry “The King” Lawler

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

The first Raw is War of 1998 gets underway with none other than the incomparable Stone Cold Steve Austin striding out to the ring to a massive pop from this sell-out crowd. Austin grabs a microphone and speaks about how brutal his First Blood match last night with Mankind at Armageddon was, however now that it’s said and done he has bigger fish to fry.

And the biggest fish of all is Shawn Michaels. Austin says that although Vince McMahon has said that he won’t be getting a title shot at HBK’s WWF Championship, Austin is prepared to do it “the hard way”, by winning the Royal Rumble, and going on to headline Wrestlemania!

(100)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Owen.jpg

Owen Hart, the man who faced Shawn Michaels for the WWF Championship, comes out to the ring and congratulations Austin over his hard-fought win over Mankind last night. He says that although Austin might not get a title shot against Michaels, he certainly feels like he deserves one last shot, considering the fantastic match that he and Michaels put on at Armageddon…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Mankind.jpg

Owen is interrupted by the man that faced Austin last night at Wrestlemania, Mankind! Mankind acknowledges that his match with Austin last night probably cost him a few brain-cells, and he commends Owen for his fantastic effort against Michaels, however seeing as he lost then perhaps it’s time someone else got a shot at the WWF Championship?

And who better, Mankind goes on to say, than Mankind himself? Owen doesn’t seem too pleased with this idea at all and the two begin to argue back and forth about who deserves the next WWF Championship title shot.

(84)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Slaughter.jpg

Commissioner Slaughter comes out to the top of the ramp and yells for them both to be quiet. He tells Mankind and Owen that seeing as they BOTH lost their respective matches at Armageddon that neither of them has the right to be DEMANDING anything.

He will give them both an opportunity to impress, however, so tonight they will go one on one, with the winner facing Shawn Michaels for the WWF Championship at the Royal Rumble.

He departs the arena, leaving Owen and Mankind standing in the ring sizing each other up while Austin looks on with a thoughtful look on his face.

(73)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TheRock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Henry.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/FaarooqNation.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kama.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/DLo.jpg

We come back from the first commercial break of the evening to head to the Nation of Domination’s dressing room, where The Rock brings in his mystery associate from Armageddon and introduces him to the rest of the Nation as Mark Henry, his new “bodyguard”.

Faarooq eyeballs Henry and asks The Rock why he needs a bodyguard when he’s got the Nation. The Rock responds that you can never have enough protection, as they start to head out towards the ring.

(55)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/JR.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/King.jpg

We go down to Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler on the announce desk for the first time tonight as JR officially welcomes us to Raw is War, only a day after the fantastic event that was Armageddon. He talks up the massive WWF Championship Number 1 Contender match between Mankind and Owen Hart for tonight, as well as Ken Shamrock defending his European Championship for the first time, against the Nation’s Kama Mustafa.

Also on the card for tonight is a fatal-four way between Jeff Jarrett, Ahmed Johnson, Vader and Steve Blackman, with the winner facing The Rock next week on Raw for the Intercontinental Championship. But right now we’re set for some tag team action, as the Headbangers take on the Nation’s Faarooq and The Rock…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Thrasher.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Mosh.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TheRock.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/FaarooqNation.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/DLo.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Kama.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Henry.jpg

Headbangers vs. The Rock and Faarooq

In scenes pretty reminiscent of what we’ve seen over the last month whenever The Rock has teamed up with his Nation stable-mates, The Rock seems more than content to just sit back and let Faarooq do all the work. Faarooq does it quite easily though, beating down on Thrasher first, and then Mosh, and then both, before hitting Mosh with a Dominator.

At this point in time The Rock tags himself in to make the pinfall to secure the victory. As Faarooq goes to get in The Rock’s face and ask him what his game is, he suddenly finds himself face-to-face with Mark Henry, who has just entered the ring. An uneasy interval follows, before D’Lo and Kama slide into the ring and raise both the victors’ arms in triumph.

Winner by pinfall: The Rock and Faarooq

(60)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Michaels.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288//Small/ChynaDX.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TripleH.jpg

We head now to D-Generation X’s locker room where Triple H is complaining to Shawn Michaels that although the last month has been great for HBK, retaining the WWF Championship and all, he personally has had a HORRIBLE month, losing all four of his matches, as well as the European Championship along the way.

Shawn thinks about this for a few seconds before tells Triple H not to worry, as he’s been thinking about this too and he has an idea that should make things a little easier for them in the coming months.

(81)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Hawk.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288//Small/Sunny.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Animal.jpg

We go down to the ring where the Legion of Doom are talking about Armageddon and how the Men on a Mission cost them the WWF Tag Team Championship match against the New Age Outlaws. Hawk talks about how he didn’t even realise Mabel and Mo were still employed by the World Wrestling Federation and he demands they come out and explain themselves!

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Mabel.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288//Small/Terri.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Mo.jpg

They don’t need to be told twice, as the Men on a Mission come down to the ring accompanied by their beautiful manager Marlena, who JR informs us is now going by her actual name, Terri Runnels.

But instead of saying their piece, Mabel and Mo just charge the ring and start to lay into Animal and Hawk. They don’t exactly catch the Road Warriors by surprise this time though, and Animal and Hawk return serve! The four giants stand in the ring going absolutely hammer and tong until the ring is flooded with referees and security guards who manage to break them up.

This one appears to be far from over!

(56)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Kama.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/FaarooqNation.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/DLo.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Shamrock.jpg

Kama Mustafa vs. Ken Shamrock

WWF European Championship

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/WWFEuropean.jpg

Hot on the heels of his fantastic victory over Triple H at Armageddon, Ken Shamrock is already making his first defence of the European Championship against the Nation of Domination hardman, Kama Mustafa.

Kama is accompanied to the ring by his Nation stable-mates Faarooq and D’Lo Brown, but as usual The Rock is nowhere to be seen. And Faarooq and D’Lo do what they do best, constantly distracting Shamrock and the referee, until referee Tim White finally has enough and ejects them from ringside!

Amidst the confusion caused by the ejection of the Nation, Ken Shamrock is able to hit Kama with a Belly to Belly Suplex and lock in the Ankle Lock in the centre of the ring. With nowhere to go and no-one to turn to, Kama is forced to tap out, handing Shamrock his first victory as European Champion.

Winner by submission: Ken Shamrock. Ken Shamrock makes defence number 1 of his WWF European title.

(67)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/BillyGunn.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Dogg.jpg

After the break the New Age Outlaws come down to the ring, with their WWF Tag Team Championship belts draped over their shoulders. Road Dogg gets a microphone and says how the tag team division in the WWF is boring, and how they have nobody even remotely worth facing for their titles, so maybe they should just retire the belts…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Michaels.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288//Small/ChynaDX.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TripleH.jpg

The Outlaws are interrupted by D-Generation X, who actually gets a pretty good pop from the crowd as they assume they are coming out to challenge for the Tag Team titles! Shawn Michaels grabs a microphone though and tells the champions to relax, they’re not there to take their titles… although they could if they wanted to, he adds with a smirk.

No, DX have come out to tell the Outlaws that they like “the cut of their jib” and are thinking that they would make a perfect addition to D-Generation X if they’re interested. Billy Gunn and Road Dogg seem to like this idea, and Dogg says that they’d be very keen to join up.

Triple H then takes the microphone from Michaels and tells the Outlaws that if they can prove their worth to he and Michaels in the next few weeks, then they’re in!

(83)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Mankind.jpg

We go backstage to where Steve Austin and Mankind are walking along a corridor arguing about something to do with the WWF Championship or Shawn Michaels or something. All of a sudden, their argument is cut short as they come across…

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Blackman.jpg

It’s the Lethal Weapon Steve Blackman, however he’s not so lethal anymore, as Austin and Mankind discover him lying unconscious in the corridor next to a crumpled trash can. They quickly call for the emergency medical team to examine him, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be fit for his matchup, which is next!

(70)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Jarrett.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Johnson.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Vader.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Goldust.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/Luna.jpg

Jeff Jarrett vs. Ahmed Johnson vs. Vader vs. Goldust

Intercontinental Number 1 Contender Fatal Four-Way

We come back from the commercial to find that with Steve Blackman out for the count, Goldust was able to sub into this match at short notice. The match itself is a good one, with plenty of action as all four superstars go at it in their quest to earn an Intercontinental Championship title shot against The Rock next week.

The only thing the announcers seem interested in discussing however, is who took out Steve Blackman. JR thinks it’s “mighty suspicious” that Goldust just happened to be ready for the match with no notice at all, but King tells him he’s just being paranoid “as usual.”

In the end, Ahmed Johnson manages to pick up the victory when he hits Goldust with a Spinebuster while Vader and Jeff Jarrett are fighting outside the ring. Jarrett slides back in to break the three-count, but gets there a second too late as Mike Chioda completes the count.

Winner by pinfall: Ahmed Johnson

(74)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/KaneOld.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Bearer.jpg

We come back from the break as Kane and Paul Bearer are making their way down to the ring. JR comments on how with his victory over Ahmed Johnson at Armageddon Kane is still undefeated in the WWF, and now holds the power of a stipulation over his brother the Undertaker.

And that’s seemingly why they’re here tonight. Paul Bearer takes a microphone and says that as he’s the official mouthpiece for Kane he’s here to deliver the stipulation for the Undertaker. He says that from here-on the Undertaker is BANNED from using his Tombstone Piledriver in a match, and if he uses the finishing move in any match it will be instant disqualification! He then goes on to say that the only way this stipulation can ever be lifted is by the consent of Kane himself.

As Kane and Paul Bearer make their way back up the ramp, Paul Bearer is obviously quite pleased with himself, although who knows what Kane is possibly thinking? King mentions the fact that the Tombstone Piledriver is the Undertaker’s most powerful weapon, and he wonders about how much of his impact will be taken away without the use of this deadly move.

(86)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Taker.jpg

But Kane and Paul Bearer only get a few metres into the backstage area when they are suddenly set upon by the Undertaker himself! He drives Paul Bearer headfirst into a wall and then starts to take it to his brother Kane with a flourish of rights and lefts. Kane doesn’t back down either, returning suit and the two brothers go toe-to-toe for several minutes before the corridor is rushed with security, road agents and lower midcarders.

It takes a good twenty people to finally separate these two, as JR reminds us that the Undertaker still has a stipulation up his sleeve that he can use for his brother Kane.

(100)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Owen.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/VS.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Mankind.jpg

Owen Hart vs. Mankind

WWF Championship Number 1 Contender

Both Mankind and Owen Hart are extremely focussed here tonight as they both realise that this could very well be their only opportunity in a long time to get a shot at the top prize in the WWF. JR talks them both up as being tremendous young athletes, whereas King seems less than impressed, constantly making references to them not being able to shine Shawn Michaels’ shoes.

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Michaels.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Small/ChynaDX.jpghttp://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/TripleH.jpg

Speaking of the WWF Champion, it’s not long into the match before Michaels and the ever-present Triple H and Chyna come down to ringside to get a closer look at the action.

This doesn’t deter either Mankind or Owen; however, as they continue to battle it out in the ring, with Owen’s impressive technical ability offset somewhat by Mankind’s extremely unorthodox style. It only takes a minor distraction by Triple H though for Mankind to lose concentration for just a second, which leads to Owen managing to hit him with a Suplex and locking in the Sharpshooter.

Will he tap?? Mankind holds on, holds on… holds on… and then JUST manages to reach out and grab the bottom rope, leading to Earl Hebner breaking up the submission hold. It’s at that point in the match where Shawn Michaels leaps up onto the apron, causing the referee to admonish him.

And just like previously, this is enough of a distraction for Mankind to hit Owen with a Piledriver and go for the pin, and Hebner counts the 1-2-3. Owen manages to get his shoulder up, but it’s a split second too late! Mankind has won the match and will face Michaels at the Royal Rumble for the WWF Championship!!

Winner by pinfall: Mankind

(84)

After the bell has rung, Mankind offers a hand to Owen to help him to his feet. In a rare show of sportsmanship in the WWF, the two competitors shake hands after putting on a great match.

Their display is short-lived, however, as Michaels and Triple H rush the ring and start to beat-down on Mankind and Owen. As they catch them completely unawares, Michaels is able to hit Owen with Sweet Chin Music, while Triple H whips Mankind into the corner and proceeds to lay the boot into him.

Michaels and Triple H then continue to beat down on Mankind in the corner of the ring, until…

(67)

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo198/nick288/Austin.jpg

It’s Stone Cold Steve Austin!! In scenes reminiscent of most of December, the Texas Rattlesnake is able to strike like lightning, hitting Triple H with a Stunner, and then Michaels with a Stunner, before either of them even realise he’s there.

Austin then calls for the beers, and mounts the turnbuckles to drink and salute the rabid crowd.

But his victory this week is short-lived, as the WWF Tag Team Champions, obviously keen to impress D-Generation X, appear out of nowhere armed with steel chairs and blast Austin right off the top turnbuckle to the concrete below. Billy Gunn goes out after Austin and continues his assault with a chair, while Road Dogg gives Mankind and Owen a couple of thunderous chair shots for good measure.

Thanks again to everyone who voted, the winner of this week's Raw prediction contest was K-Nection, mainly for his stipulation regarding the Undertaker (which should play out as very, very interesting over the next few months), and will be receiving a PM shortly.
