Small Questions Thread & "Living FAQ"

Think it may have got lost in the shuffle, if not I apologize for posting again.

Is there any good reason to have a tv show on so many networks. With the real world mod complete now I want to fire up a game. Is there any reason to keep raw on so many different channels? Does it bring in a lot more money? I get keeping it on channels to get my coverage everywhere but I'm talking mostly about the ones that overlap coverage.

If I was you, I'd be concentrating on pushing four guys VERY hard, have them pulling double-duty at shows, winning against midcarders or lower and facing each other in the main event/semi-main.

where does it state this? In past games, you'd sometimes have massive attendance drops that persisted for months.

Also, an unrelated question. If you ask a worker to drop weight (wanted to make Danny Patterson my champ, but he is now obese) and he says he's not interested, are there any ways to influence this?

1. I forget exactly where, but I know Adam has said it. There is no fatigue for running multiple shows in an area, but there are many factors that are involved when working out attendances. :)

2. None that I know of. I would speculate that it's linked to your User Talents, but I have no idea for sure.

Just me. I have all my main event workers on written deals. It usually happens after a show where they didn't gain any popularity. I usually get them over easily enough but usually a few days after a show without any pop gains, I'll notice a drop off of a couple popularity points. More of a minor annoyance really

They might have reached their popularity cap.

is it possible to end a story at an event and then start one later on?

Unfortunately not. I vaguely remember that someone suggested it way before TEW 2016 was released, but for some reason this wasn't added.

To the best of my knowledge you can't end or start a storyline in the middle of running an event. The decisions about storylines have to be made before the bookings are complete and workers can only be major in one storyline per show.

So you'd have to end the storylines before the show and set up the new ones at the same time.

The problem with ending the storyline before the show is that you won't gain any bonuses for the blow-off match from the storyline heat. So, while it's currently the only way to do it, it's still not a great way to do it.

Unifying titles?

Is there a storyline or match-made way to unify titles or do you simply have one worker win both and de-activate the one that's being unified? Also, is there a storyline option allowing someone to introduce a new title belt?

I was under the impression that you could be in debt for 18 months or so before the game closed your promotion? Or is that only the case if you're both the owner and booker?

I started my own company as booker, in 11 months we'd fallen to 5k in debt, although we were starting to turn things around and my company has been closed

And the normal delay once the year was up was about 6 months, so a company founded on say Jan 2016, has until June 2017 to get out of debt.

So the question is when you set up the company when did you set the debut date to? If you set it in the past, rather than as if it opened the first day you were playing, you wouldn't get the 1 year grace period.

If you are playing in C-Verse 2016, set the company's debut date to Jan 2016. For a mod, set the debut date to the start date for the game. That should give you more time.

In all the years I've played TEW I've never played a touring company. With that preface, can I run a touring company with tv shows normally? That is instead of touring shows, I just do a weekly tv show for the months I'm on tour? I'm at work and have an idea for a dynasty but don't want to sketch my idea out without proper details.

I've had so many promotions run into the ground in the first 18-24 months of a game I can't recall them all, and some for less good reasons than yours. (playing TEW 2010 I had a promotion that was making money, but went negative in the few days between holding a show and the end of the month. They got shut down 3 months into the game because the check for debt occurred during the down period 2 months in a row.)

You start getting negative points with the creditors after the grace period ends, so if Jan 2017 ended and your finances were negative you'd have gotten a point on the "bank patience" ledger. The warning for debt is due to that.

But from what Adam said in the other thread, it should take 6 months before you get shut down completely. He never said you couldn't get a warning before that time.
