I also think it has a lot to do with the length of the card, as a "7 HOUR" card with consistently good matches, and most angles being above A, would round out to about an A*.

Could be wrong on this, but i'm pretty sure it's mostly due to having a stacked card go for 7 hours. So length is probably the best answer.
Justin
So, I'm looking at starting up a TCW game because real world mods just aren't doing it for me right now. I had a couple of fun starts with SWF when TEW16 first came out, but I don't want to go through those first couple of months again so I've settled on TCW.

Problem is, I can't decide who to use as an Avatar, and I always like to use someone who I think adds to the overall IC and OOC "story" of the promotion. My head-cannon is important to me, after all.

So, any suggestions? I'm looking at Emma Chase and Shane Sneer, but is there anybody else who might be a good fit?

NarrZiss
RDJ or Brent Hill would be a fine choice. I could still imagine Floyd Goldworthy as a kind of Paul Heyman as TCW booker.

Jack Avatar Fan
I've just gone Global in my latest game after purchasing the debt-ridden 21CW after they fell down to Cult. I pillaged the promotion and grabbed Tommy and Edward Cornell, The Martin Twins, Adam Matravers, etc. I have them running an invasion type of story on one of my brands. It's already a large stable, but at the moment I'm somewhat concerned that they aren't up to the same standards of my usual workers and that the show ratings will suffer. But it should be fine as long as I just send Tommy Cornell out there week after week.

I'm also going to do something where Wolf Hawkins has to decide which side that he is on. I'm considering stretching this out to Total Mayhem where it would be something like:

Rocky Golden, Remo Richardson, Sean McFly, El Leon vs. Tommy Cornell, Edward Cornell, Adam Matravers, Wolf Hawkins

I might consider having Remo turn on Team TCW, but then have Wolf turn face and betray Tommy.

In other news, I turned YEPW into a developmental company. I also changed it into a women's promotion that I hope to get on my own network, in time.
dbritton987
Started a new game in TCW after spending most of the fall and winter playing real world mods. TCW has always been my favorite company to play with, so no surprise that I eventually rolled back around to it.

I'm focusing heavy right now on building stables and tag teams. And of course, if you're talking TCW and stables, you have to talk about The Syndicate. Wolf Hawkins is determined to continue on the Syndicate & Tommy Cornell legacy (or is it just a mere power trip? hmmm) as its new leader. After earning the right to revive the Syndicate name by defeating Ricky Dale Johnson, the stable stands as a dominant trio between Hawkins, Jay Chord, & Edd Stone. They are an unquestioned force, and there's always a chance more names will join their quest to take over TCW. But of course, only the best could ever be considered a potential member of the Syndicate!

Syndicate isn't the only stable I've focused on right out of the gate. Eddie Peak has gathered the biggest hunks of meats that TCW has to offer and has been destroying the competition as its chaotic leader. Followed by Jay Darkness, Giant Tana, and his "destructive protege" Bulldozer Smith, Peak calls his stable simply the "Freak Show." It didn't take long before Peak began targeting TCW World Heavyweight Champion Rocky Golden. It's clear Peak plans to use the number game to take down the mammoth figurehead of TCW. After their match ended in chaos, a rematch looms between Golden & Peak...a Dog Collar Match!

Long term, the plan is to set up Rocky Golden vs Wolf Hawkins as the main event for the first Total Mayhem of this saved game. Can't go wrong with that!

One fun thing I've done with this game is bring in Ross Henry pretty early to portray the "CEO of TCW." TCW's roster doesn't really have a authority figure when it starts off, though I usually place RDJ in that position when his attributes really start to diminish (or he retires, whichever comes first). But this time I went with Henry as the authority figure, while at the same developing his in-ring abilities in dark matches.
Gungner
I hired Peter Michaels as an authority figure / announcer...

Can't go wrong there with his mic skills. Be careful though. If you add "tiny" to USA then it won't let you overlap with your huge broadcaster so make sure you've got the money to upgrade it all the way to the size of your other broadcaster.

I used PPV but I regret it. If I could go back in time, I would've made it Commercial or even free to air since I did it to gain pop and showing one event a month is obviously way slower than showing my TV show and then waiting to gain enough pop for a PPV deal or just showing my PPVs on Commercial TV internationally.
Poputt
Subscription makes the most sense. I'm not sure how much money you get with each, but I know that as the game goes on, PPV broadcasters lose viewership.

I agree with you on your main point but my option would be to make your broadcaster only cover areas outside the US. Since you can get a good deal with a Big/Huge network in the US at the level you're at, having your broadcaster only cover what you want to grow into would make commercial/FTA your best options. If you wanted to cover the entire world then subscription would probably be better overall though a huge amount of cash to throw down since getting good coverage in the US certainly isn't cheap.
