“Times do and change, yes? It is … a certain law.”

Yuu Onuki held the cup of coffee, long stolen of its warmth in the dry cold of Japan's winter. She was lost in the surface of cool black for moments. Her last statement more an apology that a statement upon the theory of time. Breaking her down turned head from the coffee and back to the face in front of her. She found the expressions hard to read only adding to her feeling of distance and discomfort joined. If she could have read the face and eyes? She would have only found a certain sympathy … and an equal yearning for the ability to read faces held. But she offered no words, something telling her it was time to listen.

“I could not or be a shadow, without the form that does shape and light. A shadow without a person … is an … unsettled thing at the very of least.”

The retirement of The Lizard Queen and founder of 5SSW, Sakurako Kagawa, had still not settled in the minds of most. How does one replace breath? How does one replace soul? How does one replace its very core of being? Sensational Ogiwara was still not sure how she would become all those things or if she even could. But she knew one thing she would like to do. Bring by 5SSW's imagination … embodied more times than not by the very peculiar, Yuu Onuki.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/5SSW%20Zeto/People/Sensational%20Ogiwara_zpsasngregv.jpg

“5SSW continues without her. You were a part of that … not a part of her, Yuu.”

“Are you so and sure? Because even I? Am not or sure at all. But of course you have no choice of mind. Kagawa-san passed the company to your hands. You must believe it a seperate of things, yes? Or in the end you do hold nothing.”

Yuu searched the eyes before her for light or reflection or even simple understanding between them.

“I do not envy you in those the regards, Ogiwara-san. I do not need to separate the woman of founding from her company made. It is all just and memories to me. Some are faded. Some are wrong. Some are even of forgotten now, yes?”

Old wood creaked under old feet as the waitress moved by their table. Once passed, Yuu turned her body slightly towards the kerosene heater that glowed in the center of the coffee shop. At 46 years of age, she felt the cold more deeply each New Year. She lifted the coffee cup to her lips for a bitter taste of the time that was now as Sensational Ogiwara found new words to place upon her own.

“Onuki-sa … Yuu … ...” Sensational Ogiwara sighed, changing her tone and posture slight .. leaning in. “I do not know what makes you tick, the way Kagawa-san did. I do not know what buttons to push to lift your head. I am afraid she took most of her secrets with her. But you two seemed to have a … blunt … and honest way of words. So I will try the same.”

Ogiwara placed her bag on the able as she spoke, opening the metal clasp.

“I do not need your memories. I do not need the past. I was there. But now? I am here and those are two very different things. You talk about the past like you live there. Maybe that is the curse of Puroresu. To look back always at who we were. But you...”

Yuu's eyes fell on the bag as the dog eared, and time faded cover of the Hagakure emerged. The red symbol almost gone as each hand held had taken a piece to self. The book … The Hagakure … some traditions did continue it seemed. As the one who held the book … held the book of 5SSW the same. Ogiwara's words only continued as the book emerged.

“Your job was not about the past. Your job was always about the future and where we were going. That is what I need now, if this is going to work. Every person I talk to is walking history lesson. They tell me what 5SSW was. Well … I need to know what it is going to be.”

She placed the book on the table between them. Yuu's eyes looked down. For all the talk of future and plans? The book was a flood of memories again.

“You … confuse me again, yes?”

She muttered to herself, the book, the world in whole.

The book remained silent in waiting reply.

The fingers of Yuu Onuki touched a corner of the book, lifting it slightly … letting the pages fall with gravity back to their resting place. When all the pages were at rest, she lifted the corner again.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/5SSW%20Zeto/People/YuuOnuki_zpsibts4jry.jpg

“When … will this stop?”

The pages came to rest. She picked up the corner again. Losing her focus as the pages fell. But her voice remained in the moment of time.

“No … … that is not the particular or question.”

The pages began to fall again. The sound akin to shuffled cards.

“... Will … this stop?”

She stopped the pages from falling with the corner of her thumbnail. A single page trapped and then revealed as she opened the book full upon the table. Her eyes met the curious gaze of Ogiwara. A slight smile touched Yuu's lips before her gaze fell to the opened page.

“Perhaps, yes? This page does hold our answers both? Will Yuu Onuki return to 5SSW? Will this circle ever or break?”

She turned the words and book towards her. Her fingers slowly tracing the fall of characters.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/5SSW%20Zeto/Quotes/Throughout-your-life_zpsgnu781yv.jpg

There was a long silence after the words had fallen and the years worn cover had be silently closed. Yuu Onuki raised her eyes to Ogiwara's who seemed slightly lost of words if not pleased.

“The book … has spoken quite and clear it seems. I learned long ago that arguing with words that are printed? Changes nothing but the numbers and gray of hair. The Hagakure? Has not changed in 300 years … it will take more than coffee cold and January to change it I do think.”

Yuu reached for the book. A more foced smile on her lips as she did. A smile soon erased with confusion her own, as Ogiwara's hand reached the book first and held it in place. Her eyes held Yuu in sharp check of game.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/5SSW%20Zeto/People/Sensational%20Ogiwara_zpsasngregv.jpg

“Cold coffee and January … or you and I … will have to be enough to change 5SSW. Because like this book? 5SSW has gotten old and if we don't do something … it may follow Sakurako Kagawa into retirement.”

Ogiwara pushed the book towards Yuu before removing her hand.

“The book has been passed.”

Yuu paused at the echo of old words falling in the times that were now.

“The book … has been accepted … again.”

"How do things begin ... so many times and again?

First you must take it all within your hands.

The choices ... will become quite clear."

~Yuu Onuki

January had changed little along with the country of her birth. Trapped in a post-industrial decay that did serve as a backdrop to generations stacked. The cold weather of the season only drawing attention to the ever increasing cracks that littered the warehouse 5SSW called home. Yuu Onuki shuffled inside, half numbed fingers finding half remembered light switches. Sixty year old hooded fixtures sputtered to life just enough to soften the shadows of morning.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/5SSW%20Zeto/People/YuuOnuki_zpsibts4jry.jpg

"A cold starting of things ..."

Yuu muttered to herself, finding the office at the end of its usual hall. It would be easy to forget more than three years had passed if she did not stop to rub her hands together around escaping breath and warmth. Her eyes stopping to find everything faded and muted. That was the line of 5SSW. That was line of Japan herself. Change nothing and ride the course to its destined oblivion. Had not Sensational Ogiwara said the exact of words? Yuu saw little of the promised fight in the cracked plaster only added to.

The single pane windows of the office only trapped the cold. Papers stacked with an illusion of time frozen in the weather. The same kerosene heater stood center room waiting for a match to strike, surrounded itself by wooden chairs stacked with 100 yen cushions. Priming the heater with clumsy fingers, a ring of flames sputtered and coughed. Yuu stayed crouched, wrapping her hands around the column of glass, stealing the first touch of warmth to herself. A piece of paper lay on the floor, catching her unfocused eyes. The handwriting not her own.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/5SSW%20Zeto/Quotes/2f5d8169-a574-43e8-98c0-225ae5e55a4e_zpsng2dhnwb.jpg

A half started collection of lines. Her first, raw look at what she would find.

"Names ... known ... and new."

She picked up the discarded thoughts, turning the paper in her hand in directions. New thoughts forming slowly as the heat stole back the room.

*All Business are a veteran team who have seen it all. They control the pace match with quick tags and a tested game plan.

** Megumi Nakajima has made no secret of the fact that she is looking for a shot at Tomoko Nagatsuka and the World Championship she holds. Megumi turns it up a notch when she gets the hot tag in.

*** Devil Karube is a Legend both waiting for time to catch up with her and fighting it off with the other hand. She puts on an absolute clinic that tilts the odds back in their favor. She easily dismantles Raku and allows Megumi to isolate Tomoko for the pin and the win.

This is the noodle shop, also known as the ooc post for Memoirs of a Booker. :)

Thanks for all the kind messages of welcoming back. It was appreciated. It is nice to so many old faces and some new.

I am happy to get the first show out! It took a lot longer than I expected and I changed my focus about half way through. So we will call the writing a work in progress. :) Still alot to do behind the scenes. Make title sections. tag team sections, schedule pages and such. But that can be done as we roll along together. I think the most important thing was to get started while the excitement of launch was still in the air.

Speaking of excitement:

Seems the biggest upsets of the week were Hana over Romi, Birds of Prey taking the titles and Shiori defeating the always lovely Yuma Maruya. This week was tough to call with a lot of information still in the works and only the barest of stories underway. Thank so much for your guesses, time and thoughts.

Cold life had returned to the warehouse that 5SSW called home. The reverberating echoes of bodies hitting the training mat counted time. Young Lions arrived early to practice and wait for veterans whose bodies could no longer do early. The kerosene heater sputtered against the February air and the rustle of papers on the desk of Yuu Onuki. Her head tilted to one side, as the lines of reality were never her strongest point., in studying of numbers falling upon a page she had scribbled of hand and black lead.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF8C00;">“Profit ...”</span></p><p> </p><p>

She managed a small smile in knowing that profit meant more freedom for her to do as she would. At least it used to … … the absence of Sakurako Kagawa brushed her thoughts for the 5th time that morning. Everything was the same. Everything was different. She did not even know the steps of the approaching Sensational Ogiwara until her voice gave form.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/5SSW%20Zeto/People/Sensational%20Ogiwara_zpsasngregv.jpg</span></p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">“I was worried with all the excitement before the show, that the show would be lost in the noise of your return and Kagawa-sans departure. But Reign Supreme stood on its own. But only one title change? I'm surprised. I thought for sure you would want the title on Megumi Nakajima for the start of something new.”</span></p><p> </p><p>

Yuu tried her best to meet the eyes that did hold her. They were different from the shrewd vision of their founder. The eyes of a fighter and action instead. Eyes she could not hold for long as she looked down to her scribbled lines and notes.</p><p>

</p><p><span style="color:#FF8C00;">

“I have … … reservations, yes? Nakajima is where the lines do lead … … the course before was set. But is not the title for she who is the best of times and now?”</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">“It is the pinnacle of women's wrestling. Not only here but across the globe. I am also personally invested in that status ... protective even.”</span></p><p> </p><p>

Yuu bows her head in the accepting of words.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF8C00;">“Then we would have to say that Nakajima is the best of wrestlers of breath and life today?”</span></p><p> </p><p>

Sensational Ogiwara had no quick reply. Yuu finally filled the silence with a simple question.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF8C00;">“No?”</span></p><p> </p><p>

Her slight smile returned, her eyes returning the desk.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF8C00;">“Indeed … now you see the moment as it is. And if I ask you who is the best of ring and presence? I know the name we both must say. A now of the time that is now … but a name that does not echo strong into the future.”</span></p><p> </p><p>

Yuu finally managed to raise her eyes to meeting.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF8C00;">“So tell me Ogiwara-san. Which is it? The now … or the future indeed?”</span></p><p> </p><p>
