"The Golden Age"

Version: 4.0

Start Date: March 1987

Important Notes & Stuff

* A number of contracts were deleted from WWF, the reason was either the worker wasn't working consistently enough to warrant an add or weren't important enough overall in consideration of the roster positions. In some cases workers were changed to Occasional Workers also...

* For players who want to add those guys contracts anyway the list is as follows... (Please note doing this will throw the starting roster positions a little out of whack) WWF: Ron Bass, Brady Boone, Dusty Wolfe, Nick Kiniski, Terry Gibbs.

* Important: If you don't want what is in most cases the forced closure of certain promotions please check the Narratives in the editor (don't go snooping too much you'll ruin some nice surprises ). The first batch of Narratives are marked with * so if you don't want them to suffer the effects delete the Narrative.

* Please report any typos, errors, odd things etc for future update fixes.

* We welcome feedback and suggestions, please try and provide details about what you'd like changed or tweaked with examples and reasoning.

* This year thanks to Mr Creative we have also included an easy one click installer that will do all the work of install for you. We strongly recommend using the installer, it's not only cool looking but ensures no problems when installing.

How to Switch to WCW and Purchase JCP:

The narrative is set to be "AI only," but JCP will suffer devastating issues on Monday, Week 4, August 88. So, you will want to bail out before then if you're playing as JCP.

"Add New Player" and choose someone who is unemployed (before Monday, WK4, August 88), but not Ted Turner (if he's even available at that time). Leave the game with whoever you were playing JCP as, so that there's only one player again. Then fast forward to December 88, when WCW opens, and "Add New Player" again, this time choosing Ted and WCW. You'll be able to buy JCP within the next couple/few days.

Background: In testing, JCP would always be sold to WWF, while always telling you (as WCW and Ted Turner) that they aren't in bad enough financial shape - yet WWF would still buy them anyway and there was nothing you could do about it. It is my theory (based on what little info I could get from Adam) that WCW being a "new" and non-established promotion had something to do with this. I created a workaround to this by fudging a couple things and adding a negative relationship between Crockett and Vince and a positive one between Turner and Crockett.

No matter what user character you are using, as long as Crockett owns JCP and Turner owns WCW when WCW opens in December 1988, you should be good to go. If you had a user character as owner of JCP, just leave the company, add a new player, choose Crockett and make him owner of JCP. Then leave the game with that "player" and he'll remain owner.

If you have any more questions about this, I'm happy to oblige.

Start Date: November 1997

~Montreal Aftermath Hype Video~

Important Notes & Stuff

* A number of contracts were deleted from WWF & WCW. The reason was either the worker wasn't working consistently enough to warrant an add or weren't important enough overall in consideration of the roster positions. Most contracts were taken from WCW guys, the roster at the time was overloaded with talent. I wanted to ensure when you start the game rosters would be as accurate to the time as possible. With the changes for example, in WCW Scott Steiner is an UM instead of ME and in WWF The Rock is UM instead of ME. Both guys were right on the brink of stepping up to the main event but I wanted the player as a booker to make that happen.

* For players who want to add those guys contracts anyway the list is as follows... (Please note doing this will throw the starting roster positions a little out of whack)

WCW contracts deleted: Super Calo, Silver King, El Dandy, Yuji Nagata (Signed back to NJPW), Norman Smiley, High Voltage (NJPW), John Tenta

WWF Contracts deleted: Jose Estrada Jr, Jesus Castillo, Matt Bloom (Prince Albert), Tiger Ali Singh, Rikishi

"The Death of WCW"

Version: 1.1

Start Date: May 2001

Important Notes & Stuff

* To reflect the WCW/Time Warner contract situation a handful of workers have been set to Starting Absences in the editor.

If you'd like to remove them before the game starts to hire any of them earlier the list is as follows....

Alex Wright (60 Weeks), Bam Bam Bigelow (52 Weeks), Bill Goldberg (60 Weeks), Hulk Hogan (24 Weeks), Jeff Jarrett (20 Weeks),

Kevin Nash (40 Weeks), Lex Luger (72 Weeks), Rey Misterio Jr (24 Weeks), Ric Flair (24 Weeks), Rick Steiner (24 Weeks),

Road Warrior Animal (20 Weeks), Scott Steiner (24 Weeks), Sting (40 Weeks),

* MCW was one of the WWF's development territories at the time but to make things sim better in the long run HWA has replaced a few months early.

Any workers on development deals working in MCW at the time have been signed to HWA or OVW on the same type of contracts. A handful of workers who were working for

MCW under WWF development had their contracts cut for balance purposes. The list is as follows for those who'd like to add them prior to starting a game.

WWF - Aguila, Freddie Blassiem, Kevin Kelly, Terri Powers ( aka Tori),

WWF Development - Joey Abs, Pete Gas, Rodney, Bryan Danielson (Current ECWA Tag Team Champion)

* The following workers were assigned to OVW or HWA to balanace the main rotster... Shawn Stasiak, Mark Jindrak

* Due to several starting absent workers and the over bloated WWF starting roster Eddie Guerrero is auto pushed to main event. This was unavoidable without sacrificing balance elsewhere.

Looking forward to all of them! I seem to remember one year (2010?) you released May and January 2001. Any chance of a similar release? Trying to save ECW or WCW sounds like an interested game. Thanks for all of your work over the years!

I remember playing the Save WCW/ECW mod. It was like playing the game on hard difficulty (especially WCW because IIRC the product ranks popularity over performance, and you have no popular wrestlers whatsoever, which was very realistic of 2000s WCW)

That's something I hadn't thought of yet but now that you mention it, it didn't take much time to edit to Jan last time and won't now so I will definitely try and sort that out.

Thanks for the kind words guys :)

Main post updated for anyone waiting for TGA. Still too early for an eta I'm sorry but we're 40% done. It's taking quite a while to get through the 2,500+ workers but huge progress has been made this week. The U.S. is just about done and we're now moving on to Canada, Japan, UK and Europe.

Massive thank you to all of the team, everyone has contributed some really great things and I'm very excited to see the end results :)

Sounds great! Thanks for all the effort you all have put into these mods, especially TGA. I really enjoyed the mod on 2013 and particularly appreciated the way you handled worker stats.

Just a quick question regarding the picture pack. I thought I saw a post from you not too long ago suggesting you had an announcement about what you planned for the picture pack this time around. Any news on that or was I mistaken?

Can't wait for these mods, especially the one in 1987.

In terms of 1997 mod, it would be fun to have verion of the mod set before the screwjob :p

We actually just discussed this last night, you will indeed get to play that mod :D

Thank you to the Mod Squad team, this weekend has seen some massive efforts! Cannot wait to share more, which will be soon :)
