<p>Wrestling Hirokuni 2017 results!</p><p> </p><p> <div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:yellow;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Wrestling Hirokuni 2017 results!</strong></span></span><span style="color:#000000;"> by </span><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Dean</strong></span></span><span style="color:#000000;"> - </span><span style="color:#000000;"><em>4/29/17</em></span></div></p><p> </p><p> 6,800 fans sold out the Kumamoto Gran Messe for Wrestling Hirokuni 2017! This was an uplifting sight, considering that last year's devastating earthquake left at least 50 dead and over 3,000 injured. A special ten bell salute was made before the show to memorialize those lost during the disaster. </p><p> </p><p> The night ended with Tetsuya Naito continuing his disrespectful ways, as he tossed the IWGP Intercontinental Title in the air after successfully defending it against Yuji Nagata in a great main event. However, Nagata was not the only one who has taken offense to Naito's antics, as "The Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata came out to challenge Naito! Shibata, who has been teaming with Nagata and the Third Generation as of late, had to be restrained by NJPW ringside staff as he was enraged with the antics of Naito. </p><p> </p><p> In the semi-main event, Michael Elgin held on to his NEVER Openweight Title, defeating Tomoaki Honma with the Elgin Bomb. While Elgin showed Honma respect by shaking his hand, Honma's GBH partner and corner man, Togi Makabe, climbed into the ring to stare down the NEVER champ. It looks like a Wrestle Kingdom 11 rematch between Elgin and Makabe is in the works.</p><p> </p><p> Kazuchika Okada also picked up a huge win, pinning IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega after a vicious Rainmaker. Okada has been on the wrong side of things for most of the Road to Wrestling Dontaku, losing 4 out of 5 tag matches against Omega. The tides may be turning for CHAOS, as this was the first time Okada pinned Omega since Wrestle Kingdom 11.</p><p> </p><p> In the NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Title match, Los Ingobernables de Japón made the first successful defense of their second reign with the title, as EVIL pinned Satoshi Kojima. LIJ was 3 for 3 on the evening, as Kamaitachi defeated Jushin Thunder Liger with a special new finisher he is calling the Time Bomb, which was a Fireman's Carry Swung into a High-Angle Sitout Side Powerslam. After the match, Kamaitachi said his victory established him as a new force in the Jr. division, and that he will win this year's Best of the Super Jr. to prove it. However, he said he will do so as Hiromu Takahashi! He proclaimed that the "Kamaitachi" phase of his career is over once and for all.</p><p> </p><p> Wrestling Dontaku 2017 is up next, and will be live from the Fukuoka International Center on 5/3/17!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g229/watchxyoxface/njpwbanner.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:red;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>NJPW "Wrestling Hirokuni 2017", 4/29/17</strong></span><span style="color:#000000;"> (WPW/PPV/NJPW World)</span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>Kumamoto Gran Messe</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"><strong> 6,800 fans</strong></span><span style="color:#000000;"> - Super No Vacancy</span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>Show rating: </strong></span><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="color:#32CD32;"><strong>B+</strong></span></span></div></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/l3Mucxl.png</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:yellow;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"></p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/ZjYjgks.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/6G1tbUD.jpg</span><span>http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g229/watchxyoxface/75vs.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/i69eJDC.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/pr2ofVb.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> <span style="color:#000000;">1. <p>Wrestling Dontaku 2017 results!</p><p> </p><p> <div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:yellow;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Wrestling Dontaku 2017 results!</strong></span></span><span style="color:#000000;"> by </span><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Dean</strong></span></span><span style="color:#000000;"> - </span><span style="color:#000000;"><em>5/3/17</em></span></div></p><p> </p><p> A sold out crowd of 10,000 fans at the Fukuoka International Center saw "The Cleaner" Kenny Omega defeat "Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada in an incredible epic that lasted over 40 minutes. Omega put Okada away with a devastating One-Winged Angel in their best and longest match to date. While Okada was being helped to the back by Gedo, Omega grabbed the mic:</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42721" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Okada! Three times we've wrestled, and two times I've defeated you. At the Tokyo Dome, the fans voted to see their little favorite Tanahashi in the main event, so I had no reason to bring my A game for these ungrateful fans. But every night you face me in the last match, you will lose! In April, in May, in 20 minutes or 40 minutes, you are NOT the ace! I AM! And I will show...</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> ...and before he could finish, he was interrupted by none other than the "Ace of the Universe" Hiroshi Tanahashi! Tanahashi said:</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42721" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Omega, you defeated me in the New Japan Cup this year, and defeated me at the New Beginning last year. Despite my best effort, you defeated me twice. However, as the fan vote proved, I am still the ace of New Japan Pro-Wrestling. There is a match that you owe me, and it was taken away with a cowardly attack. I might have to refresh your memory, but you still owe me a LADDER MATCH!</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> For those who do not recall, Kenny Omega and Hiroshi Tanahashi had agreed to a Ladder Match for the IWGP Intercontinental Title in early 2016, but an attack on Tanahashi's shoulder caused him to miss time and he was replaced by Michael Elgin, who then won the title from Omega at Dominion 2016. The fans were shocked to hear Tanahashi offer such a match, but it was likely a way to force Omega's hand, as he could not back down from the match he originally challenged Tanahashi to.</p><p> </p><p> While Omega's win was the biggest news for the Bullet Club, it wasn't nearly the most shocking. After Will Ospreay retained his IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title in a great match against KUSHIDA, a man in a skull mask and Bullet Club shirt stormed the ring from the crowd and locked the champion in a Crossface Chickenwing! Ospreay, exhausted from the contest with KUSHIDA, passed out almost immediately. The attacker removed his mask and introduced himself as "The Villain" Marty Scurll! He told the fans that he, not Ospreay, was the British wrestler CHAOS should have recruited, that he was the one who revitalized wrestling in the UK, and that he would win the Best of the Super Jr. this year to prove Bullet Club is the top faction not only in Japan, but in the world.</p><p> </p><p> In the night's semi-main event, Katsuyori Shibata picked up a big win over IWGP Intercontinental Champion Tetsuya Naito in an amazing tag match, as referee Red Shoes Unno stopped the match when Naito passed out from a Sleeper Hold. Shibata challenged Naito at Wrestling Hirokuni, and this win certainly establishes him as the #1 Contender to the Intercontinental Title.</p><p> </p><p> Lastly, the two CHAOS tag teams managed to retain both their titles, as Roppongi Vice and Hirooki Goto and Tomohiro Ishii made the 2nd and 4th successful defenses of their titles, respectively.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g229/watchxyoxface/njpwbanner.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:red;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>NJPW "Wrestling Dontaku 2017", 5/3/17</strong></span><span style="color:#000000;"> (WPW/PPV/NJPW World)</span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>Fukuoka International Center</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"><strong> 10,000 fans</strong></span><span style="color:#000000;"> - Super No Vacancy</span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>Show rating: </strong></span><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="color:#0000FF;"><strong>A</strong></span></span></div></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/l3Mucxl.png</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:yellow;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"></p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/e2qTIau.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/7cGd9Se.jpg</span><span>http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g229/watchxyoxface/75vs.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/ulD7qKU.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/sCjC9cP.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> <span style="color:#000000;">1. Marty in Bullet Club is just terrific. Hope he does well. Pulling for my boy Rocky to have a great showing in BOSJ as well. Loving Hiromu in general. Both here and IRL, but mostly here. Good work man. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<p><strong>Predictions</strong></p><p> </p><p>

NJPW & ROH "Global Wars 2017", 5/11/17 (iPPV)</p><p>

Joseph J. Gentile Center</p><p> </p><p>

1. Dalton Castle vs. Juice Robinson vs. Hangman Page vs. <strong>Jay White</strong></p><p>

comments: Jay benefits from a win over a guy like Castle. I'll go with him here.</p><p> </p><p>

2. Sho & Yohei vs. <strong>Jushin Thunder Liger & Cheeseburger</strong></p><p>

comments:Total gut feel. Realizing the amount of love the Japanese have for Cheeseburger, I'm going with him, merely so we can see the payoff at WK12 in 7 months.</p><p> </p><p>

3. <strong>Rocky Romero & Beretta</strong>vs. ACH & Lio Rush vs. Hanson & Raymond Rowe</p><p>

comments:Love me some War Machine and Lio, but RPG Vice wins this one. Plus, I love the theme.</p><p> </p><p>

4. Dragon Lee vs. <strong>Kyle O'Reilly</strong></p><p>

comments: O'Reilly is a guy I like and I think the style fits. Honestly, I've heard a lot of Lee's name, but never seen him.</p><p> </p><p>

5. <strong>Hiroshi Tanahashi & KUSHIDA</strong> vs. Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi</p><p>

comments: Tana beats Taka here.</p><p> </p><p>

6. Bobby Fish © vs. Michael Elgin vs. Will Ospreay vs. <strong>Marty Scurll</strong></p><p>

comments: Somehow or another the club gets involved and Scurll wins. Maybe not (especially if you don't have alliance titles with ROH/etc).</p><p> </p><p>

7. Kazuchika Okada, Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe vs. <strong>Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson</strong></p><p>

comments: Keep Okada strong, but the Elite win this one.</p><p> </p><p>

8. <strong>Adam Cole ©</strong> vs. Jay Lethal</p><p>

comments: Cole keeps the title.</p><p> </p><p>

Realizing NJPW dominated my predictions...oh well. Love the show.</p>

NJPW & ROH "Global Wars 2017", 5/11/17 (iPPV)

Joseph J. Gentile Center

1. Dalton Castle vs. Juice Robinson vs. Hangman Page vs. Jay White

comments: This is going to be a hard card to call. The ROH guys probably aren't going to be as popular as your own roster, but if you're booking with the idea of ROH not looking like a complete joke (not that NJPW usually worries about that) then they'll have to get a few wins.

2. Sho & Yohei vs. Jushin Thunder Liger & Cheeseburger

comments: Cheeseburger!

3. Rocky Romero & Beretta vs. ACH & Lio Rush vs. Hanson & Raymond Rowe

comments: I wanted to go with RPG, but NJPW loves them some defined weight divisions, and War Machine are the big men.

4. Dragon Lee vs. Kyle O'Reilly

comments: Dragon Lee could probably do with a win like this ahead of BoSJ. O'Reilly's my guy, but he isn't really hurt with a loss here.

5. Hiroshi Tanahashi & KUSHIDA vs. Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi

comments: I'm sticking with the argument that Tanahashi needs to look strong.

6. Bobby Fish © vs. Michael Elgin vs. Will Ospreay vs. Marty Scurll

comments: Unless you have alliance titles with ROH, which I doubt, or are just using creative freedom with their titles then the champions retain tonight.

7. Kazuchika Okada, Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe vs. Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson

comments: ELITE all day every day.

8. Adam Cole © vs. Jay Lethal

comments: Again, champions retain.

<p>NJPW & ROH "Global Wars 2017", 5/11/17 (iPPV)</p><p>

Joseph J. Gentile Center</p><p> </p><p>

1. Dalton Castle vs. <strong>Juice Robinson</strong> vs. Hangman Page vs. Jay White</p><p>

comments: As much as I like Dalton Castle, considering this is technically a NJPW show and you'd have nothing to gain by having RoH talent go over...</p><p> </p><p>

2. Sho & Yohei vs. <strong>Jushin Thunder Liger & Cheeseburger</strong></p><p>

comments: I assure you, Cheeseburger is Very Popular In Japan</p><p> </p><p>

3. Rocky Romero & Beretta vs. <strong>ACH & Lio Rush</strong> vs. Hanson & Raymond Rowe</p><p>

comments: Shame this match can't happen at the real 2017 Global Wars. I wanna see the team of ACH & Lio Rush come over to NJPW full time and add some new life into the Jr Tag scene</p><p> </p><p>

4. <strong>Dragon Lee</strong> vs. Kyle O'Reilly</p><p>

comments: I'm just no realizing it's been since the last RoH show that we saw either Kyle O'Reilly or Bobby Fish. What's the story behind that? Are they still officially on the roster?</p><p> </p><p>

5. <strong>Hiroshi Tanahashi & KUSHIDA</strong> vs. Tetsuya Naito & Hiromu Takahashi</p><p>

comments: Can't have the True Ace of New Japan jobbing in a tag match before he reclaims his title.</p><p> </p><p>

6. Bobby Fish © vs. Michael Elgin vs. Will Ospreay vs. <strong>Marty Scurll</strong></p><p>

comments: I think this'd be a good way to put over the newest Bullet Club member.</p><p> </p><p>

I wish I could use ROH Titles (maybe I can figure a way to make them alliance titles) but I just booked these as regular matches. I'll explain each match. </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> I wanted Dalton to win the opener but Juice was "extremely unhappy" since he is an upper midcarder and Dalton was enhancement talent. I usually just pay guys off at the end of the show, but figured I didn't want to do that for all of the matches. I figured Sho & Yo are higher up than Cheeseburger and Liger (who I am trying to actually push down my card so he will job more). I honestly messed up the 3 way tag in retrospect and should have put an ROH team over. As for KOR, I figure he is very protected and I am still trying to figure out what the plan is for him. The LIJ tag could have went to Tanahashi, but I figured I could give Naito a win with some shenanigans. Again, Dominion is still a whole tour away so I have time to build Tanahashi back up if needed. In the title matches I had guys retain by default since they are the champs for AI ROH and I haven't created alliance titles. As for Okada, I want to keep him strong before his next program.</span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> Some more feedback:</span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Texasrangers13" data-cite="Texasrangers13" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="42721" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><span style="color:#000000;">4. Are they still officially on the roster?</span></p></div></blockquote><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> This is a good question. I still have both them on PPA deals. I am unsure of what to do with them right now to be honest. I struggle with the "well this is what NJPW is really doing vs. what I think they should be doing" because I could easily have reDRagon as my tag champs, but it would make me feel a bit weird if they aren't even wrestling in NJPW in real life. I'm not sure how to handle situations like that as I tend to book this more as what I predict NJPW will do in 2017, not what I want them to do in 2017. I think that's where I kind of get into weird spots like this one with reDRagon.</span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> Anyway, War of the Worlds cards are going to be posted next. Not sure if I will do predictions for them, maybe just a few random matches or something. Not positive yet. I just booked my first night of BOSJ too, and am very excited with how things are going to turn out.</span></div></p>

For a hypothetical example: As much as you're trying to predict the course of Kenny Omega through the year, how much would it affect your plans if, IRL, Kenny showed up at the Rumble? I mean, he's not, but this is a hypothetical.</p>

I wouldn't want to be building around someone who isn't in the company in real life. There's some slight variations, like I don't think I'm going to bring in Cody at all, and there's some other names I might bring in, but if a major player leaves or arrives I am most likely going to find a way to mimic it.</p>

Night 3 will see another ROH World Title contest as Adam Cole will take on Jay Lethal, Tetsuya Naito and Michael Elgin in a Four Corner Survival! Also on Night 3, Roppongi Vice will defend their IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Title against the team of ACH and Lio Rush. Night 2's main event should be quite the contest as well, as there will be a ROH World Tag Team Title #1 Contenders' three way tag between the Briscoes, the Young Bucks and reDRagon, while Night 1 will see the stars of ROH and NJPW take on Bullet Club in a main event ten man tag match!</p><p> </p><p>

The most recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter featured some interesting New Japan Pro-Wrestling news. In the last few weeks, there have been serious contract negotiations going on between NJPW and some of their most prominent wrestlers. Dave Meltzer reported that there has been a mass overhaul of the contract philosophy, as rumors are swirling about some wrestlers leaving. In particular, Dragon Gate have made a massive offer to Katsuyori Shibata, and are looking to secure him to a 4-year written deal. Meanwhile, Wrestle-1 have made an offer to Tama Tonga.</p><p> </p><p>

NJPW have countered with exclusive contracts to both wrestlers, and have begun re-signing a large part of the roster to exclusive deals, particularly those that were not currently working elsewhere but were still under pay-per-appearance deals. This frenzy seems to be sparked mostly by Dragon Gate, who almost secured BUSHI to a deal before Takaaki Kidani made a last minute offer to secure him.</p><p> </p><p>

Hopefully some major announcements can be made in the near future regarding big contracts to secure the talented members of the NJPW roster. In other news, the card for the next Lion's Gate show has been released as well. Notably, there are no Pro-Wrestling NOAH wrestlers on the show, as the relationship between the two companies seems to have died down as of late.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:yellow;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"><span style="color:#000000;">So I wanted to give a brief news update on the contract situation as it is getting heated in my game. Dragon Gate is trying to poach a lot of my guys and I am having to send written deals to everyone that I can. I am afraid they will try to offer a written deal to someone like Ospreay, who I like to leave on a PPA deal letting him work ROH, RPW, etc. We'll see...</span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

However, I also want to ask any readers for </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>FEEDBACK</strong></span><span style="color:#000000;">! I am really inspired by some of the work on here and I want to offer the most interesting write-ups possible. What would you all like to see that would make this a better dynasty? Longer match write-ups? More news updates? I'd like to know what you think could make this better. Let me know any feedback you might have!</span></div></p>
