Sigilistic
What is your strategy for GAMMA in this latest go-round? You've got a nascent super heavyweight division that can't really stand on its own yet. You've got a slightly beefed up fighter roster thanks to FLB's demise and some timely poaching at BCF and XCC. Where do you go from here? How quickly do you bring back Clash of the Titans? How often do you book events, and what do your cards look like? I try to run monthly events, with 12 fights (one in each division for both the main card and the prelim) per card, but then I also tend to run bulky rosters with lots of fresh meat for the grinder. What's your strategy?
pgaige
Early GAMMA

Signed a variety of prospects. Encouraged Matthew Dean to open a US-based team, and target some decent prospects to relocate/join a team.

Opened a FW division.

One Normal Show, PPV per month. Roster seems strong enough to handle 12 legit main events per year. 6 main/6 prelim fights. Try to make sure to have all the main cards be ranked fighters. Prelims are unranked.

Battle lines once ever other month - lesser show on CANN.

Started a new "throwaway" show on SportsTube, where I can get away with a main event that's High Level Regional (currently i'm mid-level national) to get an extra 12 flights for primarily lower tier guys.

Seems to give me about 800K per month, and keep my credibility/stability decently high, without growing too fast that I outgrow my main-eventers.
Martel123
I'm having one night tournaments on Battle lines every other month to grow new stars. Isaiah Monroe has been the most successful. Going from unranked to 10th in middleweight rankings
TheProdigy
The first step I have done is just close the Super Heavyweight division as I've never really grown any of them to a good level and I don't have any favorites I like to see grow at that division. This lets me concentrate on developing the other weight classes. I then open a FW division as grabbing Ziskie and building him up quickly gives me another main eventer. This time I tried also opening two women's divisions from the beginning, flyweight and bantamweight. It's been slow and steady building those 2 divisions, but I also like the excitement that anyone could step up and just make a run to write their name in the GAMMA history books.

I fill up each division with about 40 guys with a mix of prospects and veterans who get cut/FLB remains. This results in running a lot of TV shows/throwaway shows to give them a chance and if they do well, they may find their names on the main card of a PPV. This also allows me to rush to Mid-National asap so I can get a contract with North America Prime Select to give my fighters more exposure and grow my company faster.

After I have the infrastructure set up, I might use Clash of the Titans to crown a new division champion like bantamweight. I also have to wait for my favorite guys like Villar, Satinho to run through their Alpha-1 contracts so I can hopefully win them in a bidding war.

First show to my knowledge with 2 matches labeled as high level international for the draw.

Fiyero is now on top of the Lightweight division, Manuel Silva is welter champ, MW is vacated, LHW is Rubenstein, HW is Foster and SHW is Texas Ted. Blackman
I'm planning on spamming COTT seasons. First one was to bring in a women's BW division. Next up is the stacked FW (after the biggest poaching trip ever) and after that probably women's FlyW and male BW.
Wazza
When it comes to broadcasters, I noticed there are no big PPV broadcasters (except for North America Prime Select) but big Advertising ones, so the plan is to save money and create regional PPV broadcaster (North America, Europe & Brit Islands, etc). Then, when the time comes and GAMMA becomes big enough in regions create deals with the big advertising broadcasters in each area.

mickel
Just coming up to three years in and my slow build on Ekkberg is about to pay off. He's now ranked #3 heavyweight, is 15-0 (9-0 GAMMA), and at mid level international name value is actually the most popular guy in the world. His next fight is Kapur for the title, in one I expect him to lose, but his stats have improved enough to at least make it an interesting fight. I think it ruins my suspension of disbelief more than the cg renders honestly.

Bigpapa42
Don't get the hate for the super heavies lol. Yeah, they aren't great to start with. But that creates a challenge to build the division, doesn't it? And while there aren't that many real life fighters who would fit nicely into a super heavy division, the Cverse isn't reality and its nice to have a bit of divergence. However, the division just sucks. It's not really about building up the division, because the talent pool is basically a glass of water.

I don't mind the division, but it gets a little old when you have to keep giving title shots on one win winning streaks, then you look at the Compare screen and it's a bunch of red text all over.

It's pretty meaningless, really. There was one game in 4 where I decided to axe it at the start of the game, and it was... fine. White Dolphin
I moved Tim Boyer to SHW cause Foster was holding him up, only to watch the spaghetti ensue: Kapur beat Foster, then Boyer lost his title match to Hanley Polter.

At any rate, its important to note that as of this patch the game is super generous with the pop giveaways in local shows, so you'll get a crew of Mid Level Regional guys rising up to SHW within a year. Even with no talent, you'll still have some marketability and the fights don't generally tank ratings-wise unless its two wrestlers deciding to have a clinch-fest, so you can eventually build up some talent. Polter's a pretty decent champ if you can keep him there cause hes decent on interviews and building up feuds, and of course theres always the chance ALPHA-1 contracts come up and you can swipe some of their contenders or Palmer Lette.

I can get not liking the division due to it producing one-dimensional 1993 fighters, but with some elbow grease and clever booking you can maybe make some minor TV main events or undercard title fights if you're like me and run the occasional 3-4 title fight supershow.

Also, I've seen in some other dynasties that people use Big Magic to immediately siphon pop to an up-and-comer and send him on his way. I think it might be more effective to feed him a couple cans and build him up for a possible TV main event showcase against some of the LHW prospects (or a guy like Valentin Taneyev if the athletic commission is ok with that). Karl Martin and Jethro Munter are the cans I use from the regional scene, and you can also try Bill Cumming although you may want him for the other prospects. Magic might be able to beat a guy like Ricky Heath as well but that could be pushing it.

Alos be warned if you're going to do an all-star Featherweight COTT that Ziskie and Li-Kong Ho will big-time you. What i do is have the COTT winner get a shot at the winner of Ziskie v someone for the Featherweight title on a later show. Brubaker and Regueiro are also pretty decent choices for the coaches, you can even go with a North America v the World type theme where the XCC guys are on one team and SIGMA/KDM/possibly Freddy Lomax are on the other team. Watch for Yagi Jochiki though, the kid's got spark and is super dangerous, but lacks marketability, so even if he wins he might struggle to get over. Might be best to build him up the long way.

USNNJB9
end of year 2002 gamma the only thing i have changed in the db is formats of fights for all promotions to run as follows 10 x 3 min fights for titles and main events , and 8 x 3 min fights for non title / main event bouts. also i added the knock down rule for the 10 count feature. I have added way to many division and im regretting it, i have 400 fighters on my books as well . CRED 84 % STAB 91 % i ended the year at $15, 000 ,000 high level national with CANN and NAPS im not going to get to into my lower weight classes which are still defining themselves HWC James Foster 39-4-1 made 2 defenses in 2002 HW#1C Rav Kapur 14-1 3 KO in 2002 There is a bout scheduled between the two fighters in January of 03 LHWC Mike Watson 17-1 2 KO 1 TKO 3 Title defenses , last one against Letoussier which arguably he was losing until he knocked out Letoussier in the 10th round via head kick. LHW#1C Spencer Rubenstein 19-6 1-1 in 2002 lost a UD 77-75 all 3 judges and Had KO victory as well, Rubenstein doesnt seem to want to fight Watson for some reason, him and Letoussier are hot for each other right now. Watson is on Medical suspension but i plan on having him defend the belt after Letoussier and Rubenstein fight , i was trying to get Letoussier to have the belt and i figured it would be a good promo because there beef level is at nuclear hahaha but the Watson rally in the 10th crushed my hopes . MWC who other than Matthew Dean 41-5 defended the belt 3 times in 02 , 2 UD , 1 RNC on Buddy Garner who was handling himself well in the fight , Garner and Dean traded many Knock downs in the fight and i had it even going into the 10th but Dean finally got Garner to the deck and got a RNC. MW#1C Osmosis Benn 21-2 fought twice in 02: 1KO 1 UD WWC Manuel Silva 21-0 1 UD 1 KO in 02 , will rematch against Regueiro 27-2 who is the WW#1C losing the belt than bouncing back with 2 wins in 02 wins coming by early bout submissions LWC Fiyero Lermontov 20-0 2 KO in 02 voted fighter of the year as well. LW#1 Helio 22-1-1 3 TKO in 02 when i finish 03 ill input the other weight classes i added, which are males feather and bantam , womens feather bantam , fly , and straw weight. that is if i dont cut all the women fighters and divisions cause it might just be a little to much for me. hahahah

Like there is genuine vitriol toward the division and no one should see any value there at all.

Its the only division where you don't start with world class talents in GAMMA. Its the only division (except maybe if you add a women's division or two) where you can't just sign world class fighters right at the start. And building talent up can be a grind - you don't know for sure whether younger fighters will develop, and counting on top level new fighters to be generated (whether thru COTT shows or just randomly) is a crapshoot. But that randomness is part of what makes each save unique in WMMA. Personally, I enjoy that dynamic.

Got 2 shows into my first GAMMA save before I decided I should start over. Went too hard with the new signings and can additions. Signed up a bunch of the newly-added young fighters who have just a fight or two so far. I added both Featherweight and Bantamweight. Added a new season of COTT for the featherweights, with Li-Ho and Gaffigan as coaches. The fighters were half lower rep fighters and half generated. Most of the generated fighters will be nothing more than cans, but one was a potential superstar who was the highlight of every episode. That was fun but realized I should have signed fewer, so starting again. Going to add Featherweight division only, with Bantams being added later. Rather than signing up all those promising but one-dimensional fighters, I'm going to short shortlist and scout them. Give them time to have a couple of local fights before I grab them.
