MADNESS_NH97
Is the game still worth getting, or should I wait until the next game get's released, which might be TEW 2019.
Adam Ryland
<p>Moved to the correct forum.</p><p> </p><p> There definitely won't be another game by me prior to 2020 at the earliest, so you would have at least 18 months of gameplay.</p>

TheRyanLee
This game is definitely worth getting. You gotta do it!
BrokenCycle
It's $35. You more than get your money's worth if you play the other games a lot.
shawn michaels
It's still worth it. As Adam has stated before (and in this post too) 2019 won't see a release, so even if it's released in 2020 at best, it means you still get 2 years out of it. Or a year and a half at most. Given that even if a new TEW came out asap in 2020, one would still have to wait months for good mods, skins, etc, it's still totally worth it, as you will get a ton of hours out of it. Matt_Black
It is amazing how much of my time has been consumed by this game. And I wouldn't trade it for anything.

James Casey
I've been playing TEW (and its predecessors) since about 2001 so, yeah, I reckon I've had my money's worth over the years <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
jjglvz
Hang on, no new games in 2019? <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
AfRoMaN36
<p>Its absolutely worth still getting. The games amazing. And provides endless replayability since the world never truly ends.</p><p> </p><p> In fact, I may have some trouble letting go of 2016 once the new one does come out since I don't want to lose my current progress. It was really cumbersome recreating my TEW 13 database into TEW 16 and life's only gotten busier since then. </p><p> </p><p> If Adam wouldn't mind creating a safe file converter to at least allow the 16 saved game to be exported into a 16 database that can then be converted to the new game through the usual means, it would really relieve my anxiety about whatever new games he comes out with next. I wouldn't mind filling in the blanks manually for whatever new feature he then comes out with, but it's far better than starting from scratch. I also can't be the only one to feel that way about letting go of my game.</p>

Another incredible feature that keeps the game perpetually fresh is that each wrestler has their own personality and agenda, so you aren't managing a roster comprised of just a bunch of meaningless, soulless names with attributes tied to them, you're dealing with virtual people that do a great job of presenting the illusion that they have minds of their own. The depth in this game is on par with Football Manager, speaking as someone who's played Football Manager for a whole decade and bought every single iteration of the franchise since then.</p>

BHK1978
I would still think that it is worth getting, but I would like to add this is probably the wrong place to ask such a question. Mainly because the vast majority of us enjoy playing this game and therefore we are probably biased.<img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
Luchador Canadiense
I agree with everyone when I say 'yes.' Years after it has come out, I still play it 2-3 times per week. I decided against buying a PS4 because I spend more of my video game time playing TEW than I do console gaming anymore. And one of the great things about TEW is all the different styles of promotions. Sure, I love a good sports entertainment fed as much as anyone else, but if I've been playing the game for several months and suddenly I find myself bored with it, then maybe I start a new save in Japan. Sure, maybe things like signing new talent and managing your backstage area are the same from one save to the next, but how you book a Popularity-based fed from a Performance-based fed is very different. And each promotion has its own unique characteristics. In the CVerse, CILL and OLLIE have the exact same product, but how you go about succeeding with each is completely different. And when I get bored of the CVerse, then I can grab a mod and take Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling in the mid-80s for a spin. Or maybe I fire up a game of Championship Wrestling from Tennessee in the ThunderVerse. So many different things to experience. And while the way the game operates remains the same, there are so many variables that each game really is unique. I can't speak for anyone else, but I have never gotten bored of TEW. CX1329
<p>What I like the most about TEW is that there is no right or wrong way to play it. There are no formulas to win, but on the flipside, there's nothing you can do that always guarantees failure, either (well, unless your shows consist of nothing but 1 vs 1 matches between jobbers, but at that point you're actively sabotaging your own promotion). Success and failure both depend on circumstances (some of which are beyond your control, like the economy and the wrestling industry) and your booking and business decisions. </p><p> </p><p> If you have the sound judgment to read and navigate the situations presented to you in the game and adapt accordingly, you will succeed. If you don't, you will flounder. It's all about context and your decision-making skills. What works for one person in one playthrough may not work for another person in another playthrough due to random variables at play. Likewise, what works for one promotion with a certain roster may not work for a different promotion with a different roster and different skillsets available. The game world feels so alive and everything depends so heavily on context and dynamic situations, it all but ensures you will never, ever get bored. I've never been a real life booker and I never will be, but I have a feeling TEW comes really close to accurately simulating the life and challenges of a booker (with some simplifications, of course, so the game isn't extraordinarily difficult), just like Football Manager does with soccer.</p><p> </p><p> It speaks volumes for the depth and complexity of the game that people still discuss theories and game mechanics to this day, and some features and options still haven't been completely figured out.</p>
