alvarasus
Which bit of the journal did you get this from? From memory of TEW 2016 before the patch to remove the penalty for taped shows. It was example of how bad it was before you removed it.
justtxyank
Because live shows attract more viewers than taped content in reality and I think that should be reflected in the game. Firstly, the penalties are far less than they were in TEW2016. Secondly, TEW2016 didn't do a good job of simulating ratings drop - that's not a valid reason to not attempt a better, more sophisticated version in the new game. That has been taken into account. The ratings drops are linked to time frame, so if you're playing a pre-Internet / social media 1980s / 1990s scenario then the effects are either negligible or non-existent. First of all, this sounds great. Very glad you made another run at this. I’d also like to suggest that being taped can hurt you more if you have a rival that’s live. Also, according to everything I’ve read lately, being live costs substantially more money.

It was example of how bad it was before you removed it. I think you might be mistaken there, the taped penalty in TEW2016 only ever applied to viewership. There's never been any affect on other people's shows.
alvarasus
I was talking about the taped penalty in TEW 16 for your own shows added with the new competition feature. Before you responded and told me my fears would not be realized in TEW 2020 when it comes to that.

Before you responded and told me my fears would not be realized in TEW 2020 when it comes to that. Okay - I was just checking, as "a 90 show going down to 70 because of competition" doesn't match anything I've announced, so I wasn't sure if you were misunderstanding something or I'd written an entry unclearly. Hive
Taking eras into account when determining the penalty sounds very reasonable. Quick question: are we getting numbered TV shows this time? Like "RAW #147", "Nitro #2", etc..

Hive
That has not been decided. Fair enough. I'd like to add that it would both bring immersion (imagine being able to do something special for, say, RAW #200) - and also make it easier to keep track of the new feature to binge tape shows on the same day, I imagine. TeemuFoundation
<p>Oh my God I would love that. Granted, the calendar system TEW uses makes it fairly easy to just count the episodes if you're aiming for a "1000th Episode" special, or some such - and that's what I do, personally. But as someone who usually starts his saves January 1993, it'd be fun to book numbered RAWs all the way to present times. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> I know this isn't the suggestions thread, but I'm just thinking out loud. Though maybe WCW steals away my ratings and puts me out of business with the new Broadcasting changes!</p>

Astil
<p>So a question I have is this.</p><p> </p><p> If I book 4 episode On Monday Week 1 of Jan could I then book 4 more on Monday Week 2 of Jan? Or is booking locked until all the episodes of the last batch are completed? I looked around and didn't see an answer, but I also may be slow and have missed it.</p><p> </p><p> Either way it's a great addition.</p>

shawn michaels
I hope the penalties are reasonable even in modern eras, as taped shows do well even today, just not as well as live. Live shows are indeed a commodity, so it is good to know it is adjusted to eras. Nice addition. What is the situation on block taping limits though? I also could not find a clarifying answer. I would love to be able to block tape months of programming in 2 or 3 taping days, as TNA does, for example, or entire seasons like Lucha in a short span of time, etc.
awesomenessofme1
<p>The big issue I see with numbering shows (weekly shows, at least) is that unless the calendar has been changed to be an actual calendar, the numbers won't be accurate. Just look at this month. If I schedule an annual event on March 22nd -- do I want it to always be the 22nd, or do I want it to be the 4th Friday, or do I want it to be the next-to-last Friday? thadian
Will there be any changes to the way Art Assets are handled? I want to get a start on learning how to do the art stuff. I wanna make my own promotion WITHOUT stealing alts/rerenders from the threads, and that means making my own art but I don't know anything about how to use DAZ or anything else. Any tips would be appreciated.

My top advice with daz would be download it (its free) and the free resources and just have a play around before spending any money on extras, if you then look to spend look for sales and consider their PC membership as if your buying a few over a year it pays for itself. Sure others have readly links to free resources and how to vids etc Also keep an eye on which engine you use 3ds or iray as they deliver different style outputs, require different hardware to use (I.e iray needs nvidia gpu) and some content only works or works well on one style
Kid Socrates
I also miss the real world calendar. It's more fun to look at a calendar and see "Oh, I've got Christmas and New Year's as shows this month, I can book something stupid around that" versus just "third week of December, sure." It also means I can't really track how many days someone's held a title and have it reflect reality. The title history of "Mon, Wk 4, March 2016" just isn't as nice to me as "March 23rd, 2016" or whatever it'd be. It's a minor complaint, and it certainly doesn't stop me from planning overly elaborate storylines I never actually finish, but it'd be so nice! If I set WWE to run WrestleMania on April 7th, then that would work fine for this year, but the following year it would run WrestleMania on a Monday, then the year after that a Tuesday, etc. It would only work, as someone else said, it you put "The third Sunday of the month" or something like that, but with even that would be a pain in the backside to program...</p>
