<p>Thanks to all who have participated so far! Forgot to mention, I'm playing along with you all!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">2019 AJPW Champion Carnival - Night 1 Pick'em</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

- Champion Carnival - Block A: Shuji Ishikawa vs. <strong>Yuji Okabayashi</strong> [bJW] - I think Yuji or Shuji is winning A Block, since they did the "Kento has the title but loses in the finals" thing last year</p><p>

- Champion Carnival - Block A: <strong>Kento Miyahara</strong> vs. Atsushi Aoki (replacing Kengo Mashimo) - This shouldn't be close. Set Kento up for a strong start and runs out of gas with all his defenses so far</p><p>

- Champion Carnival - Block B: Daichi Hashimoto [bJW] vs. <strong>Takashi Yoshida [Dragon Gate]</strong> - Yoshida playing the monster in tourney maybe? Maybe I just don't like Hash...</p><p>

- Champion Carnival - Block B: <strong>Naoya Nomura</strong> vs. Jake Lee - Nomura because I think he is better than Lee and hope he or Doering win B Block</p><p>

- Champion Carnival - Block B: Suwama vs. <strong>Joe Doering</strong> - Suwama can stay in tags, as he's excellent there with Shuji. Joe needs to make a run again at the block and belt</p>

- Champion Carnival - Block B: Daichi Hashimoto [bJW] vs. <strong>Takashi Yoshida [Dragon Gate]</strong> - Yoshida b/c I'm s huge Yoshida mark</p><p>

- Champion Carnival - Block B: Naoya Nomura vs. <strong>Jake Lee</strong> - Is this the year Lee becomes a top guy, I think so</p><p>

- Champion Carnival - Block B: Suwama vs. <strong>Joe Doering</strong> - does anyone care who wins this match? I just want to enjoy watching them kill each other</p>

</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:left;"><p>Black Canvas Grappling announced today that they have signed a working agreement with two promotions, OLLIE and Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling.</p><p> </p><p>

OLLIE are the oldest active wrestling promotion in the entire world, having celebrated their 60th birthday in 2015. They are sometimes known as "The People's Promotion", a reference to their golden era when their low-cost shows would fill arenas with entire families. Famously, there is much confusion over what their initials stand for and there are at least five competing theories with a strong claim to being the truth.</p><p> </p><p>

The artifact of DAVE, Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling came to be after DAVE's demise in April 2007. The concept with PSW was simple; to start again and to repeat the formula that had worked first time around, but to avoid the traps that DAVE fell into. Naess, aided by a number of DAVE alumni, thus began the mission to try and succeed where DAVE failed....and to complete the revolution.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Yoshifusa Maeda</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Yoshifusa Maeda noted that he is excited to bring in some of the elite talent from these two promotions and also sees an opportunity for Black Canvas talent to work their shows as well in the future.</p><p> </p><p>

With BCG announcing they are starting a junior division in February, expect to see representatives of these 2 companies in the tournament to crown the inaugural BCG World Junior Heavyweight Champion! </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:left;"><p>It appears that Toshinobu Taku has taken a liking to Danjuro Kikuchi and has taken him under his wing as a protege.</p><p> </p><p>

EVENT PREVIEW

BCG Heritage 2016

fiGuWxd.jpg

With 15 shows already in the books this tour, the Heritage Tour 2016 comes to a close with BCG Heritage 2016! The event will be shown live on J-Network East 3 and features three championship matches, the Heritage Series tournament final, a six-man tag with big implications, and a couple big announcements!

Special Six-Man Tag Team Match

t6uGEuZ.jpg77k9uyu.jpg2GjK0im.jpgGQDz9Zn.png2mho8h4.jpg8eacNqO.jpg0Qfdbmr.jpg

Funakoshi & Black Iron Corps (Azumamaro Kita & Fujio Narahashi) vs. Dawnguard (Razan Okamoto, Inejiro Yoshizawa & Noritoshi Miura)

Funakoshi and Razan have tangled many times throughout the Heritage tour, including a big tag match at BCG Legacy. The tension hit a boiling point when Miura and Yoshizawa joined up with Dawnguard at BCG Lionheart and tried to spoil Funakoshi's 10th anniversary celebration by attacking him and Tsuneyo Yanagimoto. Black Iron Corps came out and evened the odds, allowing Funakoshi to stand tall at his anniversary show.

Dawnguard looks to keep control of BCG firmly in their corner, while Funakoshi's "open door" policy he spoke of at BCG Lionheart are fundamentally at odds.

Which side strikes first to exert their ethos on BCG as a whole?

BCG Heritage Series Final - Two Out Of Three Falls

CDZc0rO.jpg

5lUL2cs.jpgGQDz9Zn.pngm2N4FSn.jpg

Nobuharu Yokokawa vs. Roku Sotomura

The Heritage Series Final showcases two men who have run roughshod through the tournament field to reach the finals, with neither man dropping a single fall in the two out of three falls tournament so far. Nobuharu Yokokawa beat Dynamite Narahashi and Yoshisada Matsuzawa on his way to the finals, while Roku Sotomura knocked off Sharaku Okimasa and big Rokuemon Matsushita. Both men have tied their competitors in knots throughout the tournament and this looks to be a matchup of Yokokawa's Stump Puller vs. Sotomura's Twisted Bow And Arrow.

It's submission vs. submission for the tournament final, with the winner to face the winner of Tanyu Toshusai and Greg Gauge for the BCG Challengers Series Championship in February and guarantee their spot in the Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix in April!

BCG World Tag Team Championship

©Team Taku (Toshinobu Taku & Yoshinaka Taku) vs. American Demolition (Big Bruiser Findlay & Bulldozer Brandon Smith)

This feud kicked off at the opening night of the Heritage Tour 2016 when American Demolition challenged Team Taku after scoring the pinfall win in a six-man tag team matchup. The big Americans have proven to be a thorn in Team Taku's side all tour, as they also took home a victory in six-man action over the champs at Pistol Pete Hall's Hall Of Fame Induction show, BCG Legacy, using their power to overwhelm the sitting champions. Team Taku is not one to go down without a fight though. The 30-year in ring veteran Toshinobu and his son Yoshinaka are the champs for a reason. The younger Taku showed he belonged in the top level of BCG in 1-on-1 action vs. Funakoshi at BCG Lionheart.

Will Team Taku continue one of the great father-son tag team runs of all time?

Or will the American's power be too much for Team Taku to handle?

BCG Challengers Series Championship

WAn32fv.jpg

Rgn13kF.jpgGQDz9Zn.pngcR2lSlf.jpg

©Tanyu Toshusai vs. Greg Gauge

Greg Gauge burst on to the scene as American Demolition's "X" at BCG Legacy. It was clear from the get go that Gauge is here to show the BCG faithful his highly advanced technical-brawling style. Tag encounters with current BCG Challengers Series Champion Tanyu Toshusai at BCG Legacy and BCG Lionheart proved to be electric, and after scoring the submission win at Lionheart Gauge challenged Toshusai to the championship match at Heritage. Toshusai brings his own technical style combined with some vicious kicks and elbows as these look to square off with the winner facing the winner of the Heritage Series tournament.

Can Toshusai keep his strangle hold on the Challengers Series Championship?

Or will the newcomer Gauge continue his winning ways in BCG and add to his already growing list of championships from companies around the globe?

©Bunrakuken Torii vs. Tsuneyo Yanagimoto

The main event will see Bunrakuken Torii defend his BCG World Championship against BCG-newcomer Tsuneyo Yanagimoto. Yanagimoto made a big splash at the opening night of the Heritage Tour 2016 when he saved Funakoshi from a beatdown on his debut in BCG. Yanagimoto disclosed that a contract term of him coming to BCG was a shot at Torii's crown. This is Yanagimoto's first big match in the heavyweight ranks after spending the bulk of his career as a junior, but he has proven to be right at home on the iconic black mat splitting a couple special tag matches with Torii on the way to the tour final. Torii recognized the threat to his reign and formed the newly-minted Dawnguard team with Razan Okamoto (and later Inejiro Yoshizawa & Noritoshi Miura).

Will Torii, the leader of Dawnguard continue his reign as BCG World Champion?

Or will Yanagimoto force a changing of the "guard" in BCG?

Yoshifusa Maeda will be on hand to announce the competitors in a tournament to crown the inaugural BCG World Junior Heavyweight Champion.

The Challengers Series competition for February will also be announced at the show.

Blast Ikoma, Rokuemon Matsushita, and the rest of the Black Canvas roster will compete as well.

BCG Heritage 2016 takes place at Settsu City Gymansium Sunday afternoon in Kinki.

Join us at 14:30 for building opening and 16:00 for the gong!

First off, congratulations on landing a TV deal and doing it so fast. Proof that your strategy is working and it's paying dividends real fast.

BCG Heritage 2016 Prediction Form

BCG World Championship: ©Bunrakuken Torii vs. Tsuneyo Yanagimoto

Comments: BCG champion retains over outsider import and establishes the Dawnguard as the promotion's premier stable

BCG Challengers Series Championship: ©Tanyu Toshusai vs. Greg Gauge

Comments: Gauge made an impact upon debuting and continues to establish himself with a title win over the not-so-faithful Toshusai, leading to a big "local vs gaijin" title match against the winner of the Series earlier in the show

BCG World Tag Team Championship: ©Team Taku (Toshinobu Taku & Yoshinaka Taku) vs. American Demolition (Big Bruiser Findlay & Bulldozer Brandon Smith)

Comments: Only thing Team Taku has in their favor is tag experience and since you've managed to keep Findlay around, AmDem got that covered too so they'd make good champs. Father Taku is probably in decline and will continue to help build up young talent while Toshi begins his singles run here after a great match against Funakoshi earlier this month.

BCG Heritage Series Final: Nobuharu Yokokawa vs. Roku Sotomura

Comments: I'm more of a Yokokawa fan myself, but I'm guessing Roku wins.

Special Six-Man Tag Team Match: Funakoshi & Black Iron Corps (Azumamaro Kita & Fujio Narahashi) vs. Dawnguard (Razan Okamoto, Inejiro Yoshizawa & Noritoshi Miura)

Comments: If Torii retains in the main event, Dawnguard can take the loss here. Funakoshi is too good and a loss here would kill his aura even if he's not the one taking the pin.

Bonus question #1: Who is participating in the BCG World Junior Heavyweight Tournament from OLLIE?

Answer: Not sure what OLLIE's roster looks like at this point, but I'm hoping it's one of the Monteros and we're spared more masked juniors

Bonus question #2: Who is participating in the BCG World Junior Heavyweight Tournament from PSW?

Answer: Don't have the game in front of me right now, but I think Youngman, Ferrera and Campbell are all Middleweight and above. If not, it's one of those.

Bonus question #3: What is the theme of the Challengers Series competition for February?

Answer: February is TagMania time, so I'm guessing tag matchups with points going to whoever scores the pin. If you stick with singles matches to break up the tag overload, probably No DQ.

BCG World Championship: ©Bunrakuken Torii vs. Tsuneyo Yanagimoto

Comments: Bunrakuken Torii. Yanagimoto is a good challenger, but he's just a challenger. Torii is the real deal.

BCG Challengers Series Championship: ©Tanyu Toshusai vs. Greg Gauge

Comments: Toshusai. I think this is potentially match of the night. Gauge has been impressive since joining BCG, but I think he comes up short in his first Championship opportunity.

BCG World Tag Team Championship: ©Team Taku (Toshinobu Taku & Yoshinaka Taku) vs. American Demolition (Big Bruiser Findlay & Bulldozer Brandon Smith)

Comments: With the elder Taku taking the fall. This allows the son to go singles while the elder can put talent over -- plus with both BBF and BBS around, they make a very good championship duo.

BCG Heritage Series Final: Nobuharu Yokokawa vs. Roku Sotomura

Comments:

Special Six-Man Tag Team Match: Funakoshi & Black Iron Corps (Azumamaro Kita & Fujio Narahashi) vs. Dawnguard (Razan Okamoto, Inejiro Yoshizawa & Noritoshi Miura)

Comments: Funakoshi will not be the won to take the pin, but this sets up a future Funakoshi and Okamoto match

Bonus question #1: Who is participating in the BCG World Junior Heavyweight Tournament from OLLIE?

Answer: Gino Montero.

Bonus question #2: Who is participating in the BCG World Junior Heavyweight Tournament from PSW?

Answer: Acid II.

Bonus question #3: What is the theme of the Challengers Series competition for February?

Answer: Round Robin.
