PS. Update on Summerslam. My wife's been doing much better these past few days, but she had a close family member pass away today, so it's lookin' like it's probably gonna be Thursday of Friday before I get Summerslam finished, proofread and posted.

Glad your Wife is doing better, and sorry for her loss. Take your time; it's worth the wait!

Thanks Levinux! I really appreciate that and she does too!

Also, I hate to bump this over other diaries because I don't have anything to post yet, but I just wanted to give a little update on my Summerslam progress. It's looking like, unless something else comes up, that I should have the show posted by tomorrow, since I've only got a couple angles and one match left to write. Hopefully it will be posted by mid-day EST, but it may be the evening, since I've got to work in the morning when I usually work afternoons on Fridays.

So, last call for predictions if anyone's interested and thanks to anyone and everyone following this dynasty. I truly appreciate it!

Comments: Maybe too soon for Bret? Cracking match up though, obviously.

Grudge Match

Hulk Hogan w/ "Rowdy" Roddy Piper vs. The Dragon

Comments: Difficult one this as I’m totally rooting for Piper to turn on Hogan.

WWF Intercontinental Championship - Falls Count Anywhere

"The Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff © vs. The Big Boss Man

Comments: Never been too fussed with Koloff.

WWF World Tag Team Championship

I'm not losing Heenan. His contract actually does end in a little over 4 months, but I plan on resigning him.

Thanks Bigelow!

And I don't know if you've seen it, but Savage and Hart had a great one on one match on a Saturday Night's Main Event in November 1987. I mean it was really good!

''- Hopefully someone got the Willis Reed reference.''

Yes. You sir, are a man of culture. :D

Amazing SummerSlam, which has become the norm for your quality. Really felt like Bret vs. Savage would be stretched out more, but anything with Flair is not a bad thing. Also, how come Smash is about to become just a minion? :(

I enjoyed reading SummerSlam.

Thanks Nobby! I truly appreciate your readership!!

<hr>

Welp, it looks like I really need to stop giving specific dates for when I plan on posting the next show, since something always seems to come up whenever I do. As I stated in my Summerslam post, I intended to have this dynasty back on the posting "schedule" I like by today, with week 1 of September posted. Something came up with work over the last couple days though and I basically didn't get a chance to work on this at all. So to be perfectly honest, I don't know when I'll have week 1 of September posted. It could be tomorrow, it could be the next day, it could be Friday, or it might even be Monday of next week. All I know, is it will be posted when it's ready. Basically, that's just going to be my plan for this dynasty moving forward too. No posting "schedules", no timeframes, just shows posted whenever they're ready. (The only possible exception to this would be PPV events, where I might give a heads up for predictions once I'm for sure finished.) Ideally, I'd still really like to get a show posted at least every other day, excluding weekends, but I'm not gonna make any promises.

PS. Thanks for all the votes in the Diary of the Month poll so far and to Element and Levinux for nominating me!!

My intentions are to keep it going right up until 2020 is released. Maybe even a little longer, depending on where I'm at story wise when that time comes.</p>

  • 2 weeks later...

<p>Nothing's set in stone yet, but it's likely I'm gonna be starting a new job soon. A job that would absolutely murder my free time! So, to keep this dynasty going as promised, I would have to make some compromises. The purpose of this post then, is to determine if the folks reading this dynasty would still be interested in doing so if I were to implement said "compromises". Basically, I'm just looking for a yes or no answer from anyone who's been following along, although you could obviously elaborate if you want. If the yes vote wins, I'll continue the dynasty. If the "no" vote wins or no one votes at all, I'll just consider it a wrap. </p><p> </p><p>

This is what would be changing:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>1.) Other than the rare championship match, there would be no worker photos or match grade graphics for weekly TV. These would be reserved for PPVs only. </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

2.) I would no longer be including word for word interview segments for weekly TV, with very few exceptions. I've been trying to cut back on these lately anyway, so this may not actually end up being that noticeable. </strong><strong><em>**There would still be quotes from wrestlers in some interview segments, just the entire interview wouldn't be written out word for word.</em></strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

3.) Moving forward, I would only be using the in-game match summary, with maybe a sentence or two added where necessary, for all match descriptions. Even for PPVs. I would possibly make an occasional exception for one of the following: </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

- Long-built PPV main events.</strong></p><p><strong>

- The Royal Rumble match, although it still probably wouldn't be as detailed as the first one I did.</strong></p><p><strong>

- Worker debuts during PPV matches.</strong></p><p><strong>

- Things like the Conquistadors/Texas Tornado spot from Summerslam, since they would be a little more tricky to properly sum up in just a few sentences.</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

4.) I would eliminate the "Backstage before the show", "Post-show Notes", "The Next Day" and "Top 5 In-Ring Performances" sections from weekly TV results, unless something very interesting happens. They would still be included for PPVs though.</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

5.) I would also be eliminating the "Other Wrestling News" section completely. Again, unless something very interesting happens.</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

6.) I would no longer include specific event arenas or cities, attendance numbers, or TV ratings in weekly TV results. They would still be included for PPVs though.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

So what does everyone think? Would you still be interested in this dynasty if I implemented those changes? </p><p> </p><p>

Yes?</p><p>

No?</p>

<p>My preferences...</p><p>

1. No. Even a couple of pictures to show who's fighting helps</p><p>

2. Yes</p><p>

3. Yes for non ppv, no for normal or prestigious ppv. Pay per views are always a little more special.</p><p>

4. Yes</p><p>

5. Yes</p><p>

6. No for tv and ppv. Minor shows a yes.</p><p> </p><p>

My two pence worth. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Yes for me, although I could definitely understand why it would be a no for others. Personally, I'm mainly interested in who's wrestling and why, and not so much how exactly the matches play out. The other stuff like worker pics, which arena a show is held in, attendance numbers and TV ratings are nice but are basically just fluff to me. And the backstage stuff, like one worker downing another for not connecting with the fans, don't really interest me either. Anyway, that's my two cents! <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
