Marcel led this match from bell to bell, taking control both of the story and the action. He did a good job of making Isabel look pretty good, and Andre came out of it with a little bit of momentum as well, but this was the story of a dominant champion taking his challengers to task. LeFleur would lock the Parisian Chickenwing onto Silencer to earn his second defense.

Now this was a match. All five people in and around the ring did a great job, told a great story, and really sold the enmity between them. Money Talks used some underhanded tactics to isolate and wear down McManus, leaving Allen pacing in her corner and itching for the tag. When she finally did get in, she took it to the heels with vicious strikes and painful looking holds, at one point leaving Pennyworth absolutely screaming in pain. Money did some good work with limited spots, moving feet and ropes out of the referee's view to his teams advantage. With Pennyworth down and out, McManus & Allen were able to get back into the match, but it was not to be. Pennyworth would recover, and after a blind tag he cut down Allen with a chop block, and quickly locked her into the Money Clip. Before McManus could even start to get into the ring to make the save, she was tapping furiously.

To determine which competitor is allowed to challenge for the Openweight Championship

A pretty good match all things considered. The announcers kept reminding everyone that this wasn't a number one contenders matchup, but would only determine which of these two competitors would be even allowed to challenge for the title while Henry was champion. Of course, considering he was defending in a steel cage tonight, as Emily McQueen pointed out, that may only be for the rest of this show. That said, they went out there and put on a hell of a show, relying on their natural chemistry and skill to get the crowd popping. Famine would slowly but surely take control, working over the neck and abdomen area of Lomas to try to set up for his finishing maneuver. He would be denied, however, when he actually hit the Leap of Faith, as Lomas would roll through and over with the impact, keeping Famine's shoulders down on the mat for the three count with a sudden roll up. As the bell rang, Lomas would book through the ropes and up the ramp, Famine's face a mask of fury.

The announcers remind us as this impromptu match begins that these two competitors were seen as sort of proxies for Savage and Henry, who will be taking part in the Openweight Championship bout tonight. From the opening bell, this match is brutal, with hard and dangerous looking attacks from both men. Slick at one point is driven face first into the top of the turnbuckle, and seems to come up a bit woozy, giving Reed a huge momentum shift. From there, Reed uses impact moves to keep Slick off balance, and eventually is able to hit the Stealth Crusher for the pin. Playing on the proxy angle again, the announcers wonder if this bodes ill for Henry's defense later on.

W$W Tag Team Championship Match

This was a fun story but not a great matchup. Orton and Caine came out on fire, taking it to the champs quickly and easily. They were working over Plague, but the tags between them kept getting harder and less wanted as each man wanted their own bite of hte pie. At one point, they got in each others faces instead of actually making the tag, leaving Plague to make his own tag and finally bring War into the bout. The big man was able to work over both Caine and Orton for a while before they got back on the same page, at which point they started isolating him instead. The turning point in this match, though, came when Caine made a blind tag that Orton didn't want. Caine jumped into the ring with momentum and turned War inside out, but when his celebration got too close to the ropes, Orton decked him. Caine dropped like a sack of potatoes, but the referee ruled that it was a tag and ordered Orton back into the ring. While he was arguing with the official, Plague and War got to their feet, and landed the Bubonic Bomb on Orton. War made the quick cover, and Apocalypse retained.

Steel Cage Match for the W$W Openweight Championship

This was a damned good match to end the show, and it had Savage come out of it looking like a beast and a genuine contender. Henry would successfully defend the belt, but an early injury (it would turn out to be a cracked tailbone) when he was whipped hard into a turnbuckle would change the entire flow of the matchup. Savage would definitely be in control for most of the matchup, as Henry took it easy and avoided most major lifts and as many falls as he could. Even though Savage came out looking damned good, Henry would hit the Earthquake Powerslam in his biggest move of the night, and practically collapse on Savage for the three.

Final Thoughts

So, the 'fan' in the Jarvis/TNBT angle is Zuri Fortin, an Eve Grunge regen. Decent but small technical wrestler who spent some time with NOTBPW and CWWF in the past, but has been unemployed for about three years. She *is* a negative influence in the locker room, something I usually try to avoid, but I really wanted somebody as a surprise to work with Jarvis. So far, there's enough positives to counteract her, so that's fine.

Disappointed but not terribly surprised by the tag belt matchup. Not sure what it is, but I'm just not seeming to get the results I think I can out of them.

Henry is injured, but can work through the pain. I'll probably keep him to angles until the next supercard regardless, thanks to the other news. No need to overwork him.

My plan is put Hostile Takeover on mothballs, and take Public Relations weekly. By my calculations, I need to make a profit of about 4500 a month for the next two years or so to reach the owner goal, and I think I can pull that off still with 5 shows a month; I made a little over 50k this month so I think it's doable. In addition to New England and the Mid Atlantic, which will continue monthly, I plan on branching into the Great Lakes and South East -- though I'm considering going Mid South instead. I might even do both, and rotate the supercard each month between New England and Tri State. My Tri-State popularity is up to a C-, so C rated shows aren't helping me much there anyway.

Also: Kijar, thanks for the kind words and for the nomination.

Final Rating: C

A few negative influences isn't too much of a burden, and is pretty realistic. :p

Plague and War working with low stamina or psych perhaps?

Ross is far too valuable to let that injury get any worse. :D Big win for Lomas, I dig it. I like that Andre Reinhardt for some reason also. Blue Chip division is growing.

I'd say go for Great Lakes first. I've always found it a quick place to grow pop. No worries on the nomination man, you're doing good work. I want to clarify my opening statement of "Its alright" from before was referring to your show ratings not being what you wanted :)

True enough about the negative influences; I've just managed to make it this far without any for the most part. 100% backstage rating makes me happy.

I did go Great Lakes, then South East, then Mid Atlantic, with New England the go-home for the main event in Tri-State. It worked out for October, so that'll probably be my rotation for a while. [Yes, this means I just finished simming October. I'm going to aim for one show each day M-F. Give myself a schedule, might make it work better.]

And the "Its alright" I picked up on your meaning after a while. No worries.

The announcers put over the issues that Slick and Reed have been having of late, and remind everyone that Savage just got out of a brutal cage match against the Openweight champ Henry. This proves to be a pretty fun back and forth matchup, with neither side getting too much momentum. Savage in particular looked...well, Savage, as he brutalized both Caine and Slick with punishing blows. Ending came when Savage caught Caine coming off the ropes (aiming for a slingblade), and absolutely planted him with a Locked Hate Demolisher.

I'll be honest, McManus was kind of a 'toss-in' to this match because I couldn't figure out who else (that didn't already have a match) would be here in place of Henry. It worked out, as even though he was outside of the storyline and off his game a little bit, this mtach was pretty damned good. Also, I'm thankful for this match, since it reminded me that Thunder & Lightning never had gimmick changes after their return to face-dom, and were still technically using "Old School Heel" gimmicks. Oops.

This was good back and forth matchup; the heels isolated Thunder as the weak link, and did everything they could to both keep him in the ring, and get him back in the ring when he wasn't. He was worn down over time, and was barely able to keep his feet when he finally tagged in Lomas. Lomas went to town on Plague and War (Famine was conveniently sitting on the ringside barricade at the time and didn't get involved) before they managed to double team and hit a Bubonic Bomb. McManus made the save on that pinfall attempt, and the faces were back in the action. Thunder had recovered, and the side of right and good had cleared the ring and celebrated for a moment, when Apocalypse got back into the ring. A full six-man brawl took place for a while as the referee desparately tried to regain order. Because of this, he never noticed when Famine got under the ring and slid War a sledgehammer. War slammed Thunder in the temple with the hammer, brought it down on his chest, and slid it back out of the ring. He made the cover just in time for the referee to turn around, and that was all it took.

Final Thoughts

Ow, that last angle. It hurts to end a show with one of your weakest segments, but at least it didn't seem to hurt the overall too badly. In this case, the matches I wanted to do good came through for me. A good return for the dirt sheets -- not so much for the financial books, but I knew that would be the case. Next week will be even worse; at least here I had some popularity already.

Ross Henry comes to the ring to start the show. He says that he saw Shawn Orton's challenge last week in the Great Lakes, a challenge for Henry's Openweight title. He says that Orton has balls to be challenging an injured champion. And if Orton thinks Henry would actually take on that challenge? Well, he's absolutely right.

He is interrupted by Rich Money's music, as the boss makes his way to the ring. He says that normally he's ok with a champion accepting a challenge for the title on their own, but he happens to have another idea in mind. Orton's a fine challenger, and Money will give him a shot -- eventually. But there is one man in W$W who's momentum is absolutely through the roof right now. So tonight, he's giving Richard Pennyworth III a shot at Cali Slick, and if he can win that match, then he becomes the number one contender.

Once again, this is a pretty quick match. Reinhardt does a decent job acquitting himself in the ring, but LeFleur is just a little overwhelming for him. After an early flurry of offense, LeFleur slows down the pace, and at around the five minute mark locks on the Parisian Chickenwing. Reinhardt -almost- makes it to the rope before LeFleur rolls the lock around back to the middle of the ring, and that is too much for the challenger to take.

Thunder got some early offense in, working on Famine's neck and legs in spurts, trying to take the Leap of Faith out of play and also weaken him for his own finisher. Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to have been the proper match to end with. Pennyworth didn't seem to have an off day, but neither he nor Slick seemed to have a good performance tonight. There was some back and forth action early, with some slick! counter and counter-counter maneuvering from both men, but eventually Slick would take control. He seemed content to fight Pennyworth's fight today, working mostly with technical prowess but throwing in some of his prefered brawling style as well.

Things turned around when a superkick attempt was ducked and leveled the referee. Roger Reed jumped out of the crowd and went to town on Slick while Pennyworth gathered himself. By the time the referee recovered, Pennyworth was on his feet, Slick was down, and Reed was nowhere to be found. Money had a self-satisfied smile at ringside, and it didn't take too long for Pennyworth to slap the Money Clip onto the beaten and dazed Slick, and he held on for the victory.

Final Thoughts

This was looking like a pretty solid show. Good promos, good up and down flow...and then that last match brought it down. Still, this was in the South East, so I think it'll do good things for us. I think part of the problem is that Pennyworth's popularity, unlike many of the other guys, is basically non-existent outside the areas we've been in. And, well...this was our very first visit to the South East region. As he continues to get wins here, I think this will improve. In a particular example, both of Money's promos involving Pennyworth almost certainly suffered from his lack of popularity, earning a D+ and a D- respectively.

Thanks to McManus & Allen, this match was more than watchable. Alvarez and Kipp showed good instinct in letting the veterans lead the action, and the match was the better for it. Unlimited Violence had some early success, working over the back of McManus, but a brief 4-person brawl turned things around for the good guys. Allen would slow the action down, take Kipp out of the action by throwing him over the top rope, and lock on the figure four for the submission on Alvarez.</p><p> </p><p>

This was a great match that was able to build the feud between Lomas and Famine without Famine making an appearance. War came out of this match looking really good, and his size and strength outmatched Lomas' speed and technique for much of the fight. War would continually floor Lomas with hard-hitting power moves. Lomas for his part tried to stick and move, but never was quite able to chain together multiple moves to get anything going. That is, until War tried for a powerbomb, and Lomas somehow managed to roll through. The rollup wasn't enough for the victory, but it swung the momentum his way, and a minute or so later he was able to put the big man down with an Exploder.</p><p> </p><p>

Reed's compatriot takes on Slick in this match of the night. Savage and Slick turn out to have good chemistry, and really were moving with the flow and letting the crowd take them where the match needed to go. Savage would have much of the momentum through this match, looking good and strong as time went on. Slick would manage to counter a spear attempt and drive Savage into the corner, which let him take over, and he was starting to look pretty good. Reed would get involved, however, and attempt to drive a steel chair into Slick's head with the ref on the other side of the ring...but Slick reversed positioning at the last moment, and the steel chair dropped Savage to the mat. One Slick-Back later, and Cali Slick has the victory.</p><p> </p><p>

This turns out to be the tale of two matches. Famine comes out of the corner strong at the opening bell, and makes Caine work for every inch of offense he manages to pull out, but overall, Famine was in control. He looked to be closing in on the victory, too, when Lightning Lomas' music hit, pulling Famine's eye. Lomas himself wouldn't appear, but Famine would be half way up the ramp before realizing that the referee was counting him out, and was up to 8. Making it back to the ring just in time, he ate a big boot from Caine.</p><p> </p><p>

But since Henry hasn't competed since Short Sell, Money thinks it's time, so he calls out the champ. Henry makes his way to the ring with the microphone, and says that he'll take on anyone Money has in mind, just as long as Pennyworth is also competing tonight. Money agrees, and announces that Pennyworth will be having a warmup match later on tonight against G Force. But Henry's match starts right now...and it's against Jillian Jarvis.

Henry is still shrugging off the effects of his injury, so this fight went a little slow and formulaic to reduce any issues that might cause. Both Jarvis and Henry looked pretty good, but Jarvis started working on the back of Henry, and looked to be pulling ahead. The referee called for the bell instantly, disqualifying Henry, who looked a little miffed at the interruption.

Speaking of the Blue Chip Championship, Marcel LeFleur makes his way to the ring, the belt around his waist...and his shoulder and arm in a sling. He slides into the ring, and grabs a microphone. He addresses the crowd first and says that it's good to be in New England, and he'd love to be competing here tonight, but there are things he needs to take care of. He then requests that Rich Money come to the ring. The boss obliges, grabbing his own microphone. It looks like Money is about to say something, but LeFleur beats him to the punch.

He says that people know he wrestles elsewhere, and in fact he is even World Champ in other places. He'd hoped he was starting to work his way up the card here as well. Unfortunately, in a match last night up in Canada, there was a pop, and long story short, he'd torn his rotator cuff. Doctors say in the best case scenario that he's out of action for months. So, unfortunately, he is unable to defend this belt here tonight, or any time in the near future. Therefore, to his own disappointment and with apologies to the W$W faithful, he is hereby vacating the Blue Chip Championship. He shifts the microphone to his injured hand, pulls off the belt, and with a moment of hesitation hands it over to Money. LeFleur says he'll be back for that when he's better, so keep it prestigious.

As LeFleur makes his way out of the ring, Money says that this throws all of plans for the belt out the window. He promises that there WILL be a match to determine a new champion tomorrow at Expected Earnings, but the details will have to be found out there.

They get into their familial relationship (supposedly Pennyworth is Money's nephew), their mentor-mentee relationship, and Money's abuse of power to give Pennyworth shots that may be seen as unearned. Money and Pennyworth do a good job of looking offended at the right moments, and the interview goes pretty well. It ends on a high note when McQueen asks Pennyworth what his plan is for Expected Earnings to take on the nearly unstoppable Henry. Pennyworth says that he's going to do what he always does, and that is win.

It may be overkill to have Money out here at Pennyworth's side, but the two of them act as though this match is a huge test for the Openweight challenger. It's not. Pennyworth probably could have the match won in about 90 seconds, but he milks it a little bit, finally putting Force out of his misery with the Bull Market.

Once again, Savage looks like the huge prospect that he is. I really hope I get to cult soon so that I can lock him up with a written contract. This match is a relatively short but high-octane affair, with all four men going full speed from the opening bell. The referee has obvious trouble keeping control, as Slick found himself a tag team partner with a similar mindset to himself to take on Reed and his buddy. There are long sections when all four men are brawling at the same time, and everyone, referee and announcers included, quickly lose track of who the legal man is on either side. So when Slick managed to hit the Slick-Back on Savage and try for the cover, the referee made the count even though Caine and Savage were still brawling in the other corner of the ring.

Final Thoughts

Yep. LeFleur injured. Two champs in two months. Fortunately, surgery went well, and he should be back in action sometime in the middle of next year. There have been better go-home shows, but I think this one worked pretty well. Stories are moving along at pace, and nothing seems out of whack at the moment.

For as good as these guys have been, this wasn't as good as I'd hoped the opener would be. It was decent, and got the crowd going, don't get me wrong. But there was just something off about it. Both men gave as good as they got, resulting in a hard-hitting affair that turned into more of a brawl then a wrestling match. Slick would earn the victory after hitting the Slick-Back after a DDT.</p><p> </p><p>

This was a decent but not great match. We kept Fortin out of the action for much of it by having an early trip outside the ring and having Aroma practically drive her through the ring steps. This left Jarvis to take on both big men by herself. She was game, but it was obvious that the long reign of torment she'd provided her opponents had driven them to reach deep down within themselves, and they slowly but surely wore her down with double teams and brutality. When Fortin finally got back into the match, they took her out with a huge powerbomb, then looked at each other, and dragged her over to her own corner, allowing Jarvis to tag back in. From there, it was quick and dirty, with Aroma hitting the Cracked Facebreaker for the pinfall and sweet sweet vengeance.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Ladder Match for the W$W Blue Chip Championship</strong></p><p>

<span>http://www.2d12.com/RTG/WSW%20Blue%20Chip.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

This match was, simply put, organized chaos. Nobody in particular seemed to thrive in the environment created, but nobody seemed out of their element either. There was plenty of usage of the ladders as weapons, and Revelation pulled out some chains to use as well. In short, mayhem. There was one particularly scary looking spot where The Revelation had managed to climb the ladder, had his hands on the belt, and then had the ladder kicked out from under him by Perez. This left Revelation literally hanging with the belt with no way to get his feet back underneath him. He desperately tried to hold on, even pull the belt off while he was hanging, but inevitably he lost his grip and fell about fifteen feet to the canvas. </p><p> </p><p>

The final result came as Thunder and Duran scaled opposite sides of the ladder with everyone else down and out outside the ring (Revelation had rolled to the outside after falling and basically not moved since). They traded blows at the top of the ladder, resulting in Duran being knocked backwards, her feet tangling in the ladder. While she tried to pull herself back upright, Thunder reached for and pulled the belt down, becoming your NEW W$W Blue Chip Champion.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>I Quit Match</strong></p><p> </p><p>

This match was a perfect culmination of everything these two have brought to the story in the past few months. Lots of counter wrestling, good and painful looking holds, and a back and forth flow that the crowd really got into. The first attempt to get someone to quit was when Famine hit the Leap of Faith perfectly square, and followed it up instantly by wrapping Lomas' neck between the ropes. Lomas refused to quit and forced his way out of the ropes to Famine's dismay. And that's when things went off the rails. Tables. Chairs. The two went out into the crowd; at one point a fan's plate of nachos was tossed in Famine's face. The second attempt at forcing a submission came from Lomas, when he managed to drop a pile of sound equipment onto Famine. Famine refused to quit, and managed to struggle out from under the heavy pile of equipment...only to eat a huge dropkick from Lomas that sent him over a railing to the floor five feet below. Lomas quickly followed and wrapped Famine up with some cord in a rather unique submission hold before he could recover from the fall, and this made Famine give up the fight. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>W$W Tag Team Championship Match</strong></p><p>

<span>http://www.2d12.com/RTG/WSW%20Tag%20Team.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

War and Plague come out hot, and take control of the match before the opening bell. War attacks McManus, nearly concusses him on the ring post, and sends him out of the ring. Plague likewise attacks Allen when her back was turned, laying punch after punch to the back of her head before the referee is able to push them back to assert control. Despite their obvious injuries, the bell does ring to start the match, and Apocalypse starts going to work. Allen was still in the ring, so she is the de facto legal person for her team, and they work her over hard, focusing on the legs and back to take her finisher out of play. This seems to be working to perfection for quite some time, though multiple attempts at ending the match (including a double team Bubonic Bomb) fail to keep her down for the three-count. As McManus finally climbs his way back to the ring apron, a desperation jawbreaker from Allen gives the faces an opportunity to recover...only to be cut off by War knocking McManus off the apron again. The referee forced War back to his corner, allowing McManus to send Plague out of the ring and into the barricade, and giving Allen the chance to get to her corner. They got the ref's attention by yelling, and made the tag, giving McManus the legal status. He went to town, having been basically out of the match the entire time so far, and nearly single-handedly took out both members of Apocalypse. The momentum shifted slightly a couple more times through the course of the fight, but in the end, Allen was able to hit a swinging DDT that downed Plague long enough for the three count as McManus and War tussled outside of the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

This was just a good wrestling match. While advertised as a grudge match, there wasn't really a huge story behind this. Simply put, Caine had a win over Savage, and he wanted it back. This was a very open match, the winner of which couldn't really be determined until the final move. Both men had their offensive moments, hitting their respective big spots. Savage would hit the Locked Hate Demolisher for the win.</p><p> </p><p>

The Riches are backstage. They remind everyone that with just a little hiccup, Henry has been on top of the heap here in W$W for nearly a year and a half now. It was time that ended, and Pennyworth is the man to take him down. They've studied Henry. They know his weaknesses. And the fact that he's coming off an injury is just cream on top. Tonight, the reigning Openweight Champion doesn't stand a chance. Pennyworth will walk out of the ring tonight with his 3rd Openweight Championship.</p><p>

We cut to Henry, who is also preparing for the main event. He says that a lot of people here in W$W have thought they had what it took to bring him down. But the fact remains that only one person has beat him clean in the middle of this ring, and that man had to do it only after Henry had already had one grueling match that night. It's true that Pennyworth is a former champion -- but that was eight years ago. It is no longer his time. This is the Henry era, and that era isn't going to end tonight.</p><p>

<strong>W$W Openweight Championship Match</strong></p><p>

<span>http://www.2d12.com/RTG/WSW%20Openweight.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

This was a pretty damned good match. Pennyworth definitely showcased that he deserves to be at the top of the card again, as he and Henry went back and forth so rapidly that it was hard to follow. The momentum shifts were the story here, as both men would start getting hot only for something to cut them off at the knees. Money was a menace at ringside, tripping Henry or distracting the referee constantly. For his party, Henry would always manage the perfect counter when Pennyworth would get on a roll. The match was ten minutes old before Pennyworth was able to turn a perfect distraction by Money into a long-term momentum shift, when he started using a number of amateur wrestling moves to slow down the pace and bring Henry to the ground. In fact, Pennyworth managed to get Henry into the Money Clip, and it looked like he had the match in the bag, but Henry's desperation reach for the ropes *just* managed to swipe a finger on them, and that was enough for the referee to call for a break. Money was absolutely furious at this call, and got up on the ring apron to yell at the referee. That proved to be a mistake as Shawn Orton came out of the crowd, decked Pennyworth with a set of brass knuckles, and vanished again as Money shifted his diatribe to get the ref to turn around. He did turn around, just in time to see Henry level the staggering Pennyworth with an Earthquake Powerslam, and make the cover to retain the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Final Thoughts</strong></p><p>

OK. I like how this show did. The ups and downs were basically how I expected the flow of the show to go (even if the downs were a little lower than I'd wanted). A couple underperforming matches, but for the most part, things went well. This show should end the storylines for TNBT/Jarvis as well as Famine/Lomas, so we'll see where things go from here.</p><p> </p><p>

Also, full disclosure. I now have NO plans in mind for the Blue Chip. LeFleur's injury really threw me for a loop. I literally picked six people for the match that I thought could be fun, then called my son over and had him pick one of the pictures to determine who won. Guess it's time to come up with something.</p><p> </p><p>

A quick and easy match for the champion. The announcers said that Orton's failure to respond was obvious, and Henry kept looking to the ramp in search of a distraction or interference that never came. It also helped that he and Phoenix showed some pretty good chemistry, and this turned out to be a decent match to start the show out on. These two teams run into each other backstage and start arguing over which of them deserves a tag title shot first. This is a match that I feel should have been a bit better, and I completely blame the location for it. But them's the breaks when you're trying to push into new territory. This had pretty good action, with plenty of back and forth, both men taking turns on offense for a while, and quite a few rest holds. Lots of near falls, with both men hitting their finishers twice each (and managing to cover only once each afterwards). An extremely tired looking Slick was just setting Lomas up for a third Slick-Back of the evening when the bell rang, and the match was declared a time limit draw. Neither man looked particularly happy about that.

He grabs a microphone and says that was a hell of a performance they put on, and he'd be honored to defend his championship against either one of them...but he's not a fool and there's no way in hell he's defending against both of them at the same time. So Slick and Lightning need to figure out which of them gets the first shot before Insider Trading, or Henry will have to find someone else to challenge. The show ends with Slick and Lomas staring each other down inside the ring.

Again, I'm blaming the South East for the poor ratings. I think we'll start to improve as worker popularity gains, but then again...I'm not exactly lighting the charts up where I do have the popularity. So, we'll see how this goes.

Great match to start the show, and all three men put on great performances. Money Talks has been on one hell of a roll as of late, with their momentum absolutely through the roof. We were able to play off that, and lots of little things went exactly their way through the course of the matchup, as they played the heels to perfection. The turnaround came when Money tried to get involved, but was caught by the referee. While they argued, Pennyworth tried to get involved as well, and that allowed a hot tag from The Next Big Things. Lindland cleaned house, the faces used supreme teamwork, and eventually Aroma would hit Pennyworth with the Cracked Facebreaker for the win.</p><p> </p><p>

It's perhaps no surprise that Thunder ends up being Slick's opponent here tonight. They shake hands to start the match, and then go full speed ahead. Slick obviously is trying to end the match early, but nothing he tries seems to keep the Blue Chip champion down. Thunder slips out of two early attempts at a Slick-Back before going on the offense himself, eventually hitting the Thunderstruck. It looks like the match is over with an unfortunate result for Slick, but he kicks out just this side of the three -- and truth be told he might have done it a bit later than he should have. Thunder tries to press his advantage, but Slick seems to get a second wind, and when he goes for the Slick-Back a third time, Thunder isn't able to get out of it, and Slick picks up the victory. Everyone seems a little surprised by Slick's choice of opponent for Lomas here tonight, the announcers even going so far as to surmise that they thought Slick would pit Lomas against Henry. Even Lomas seems a little out of sorts at the start of the match, allowing Caine to build up some momentum in the match that he then has to fight back against. He does so, slowly but surely, and eventually hits an Exploder to hold on for the win. He holds his breath waiting for the official announcement, which states that he won the match in 10:04, granting him the #1 contender's slot.</p><p> </p><p>

Lomas is still celebrating in the ring when Henry's music hits and the champ comes out. He says that he declined to take part in tonight's festivities, because he wanted to stay out of the decision. But now that it's been made, he congratulates Lomas on his upcoming title shot. Lomas says that it's going to be more than a shot -- he's going to walk out of Insider Trading as the NEW W$W Openweight Champion. Henry smiles, and says that he'll see him in the ring.</p><p>

<strong>Final Thoughts</strong></p><p>

So. Marcos Caballero turn...except it wasn't. I could have SWORN I set him to prepare a turn, but when I got to that segment, it wasn't there. I'm so confused. So, for now, he's a face still...I'll see if I can work with that.</p><p> </p><p>

I was disappointed in both Slick/Thunder and Lomas/Caine. These felt like they should be solid C if not C+ rated matches, but both came in in the Ds. I almost wish I was playing with the Dirt Sheet on so I could see what was going wrong here. And that angle...wow. I mean, I knew that wasn't going to go well, but I wasn't expectign an E+.</p><p> </p><p>

But, overall, a decent show I guess. </p><p> </p><p>

In roster news, Cameron Jones was signed by SWF. Because of that, I no longer felt I had a reason to continue employing Lisa Bowen (they are engaged, explaining the connection). I'd kind of tied her in with Jarvis, but that felt thrown together for me, and she just isn't developing like I'd hoped. So I dropped that contract as well. I'd like to drop Jarvis as well, but she and Riley are dating, and he won't let me. Meanwhile, Hellcat Hernandez' contract has expired, and we have released Zuri Fortin, Andre Reinhardt, and G Force from the jobber ranks.</p><p> </p><p>

Huggins's debut match here in W$W is a good one. Shadrach is still a jobber, but he's beginning to look pretty good, and his size does a good job of making Huggins offense look potent. <strong>Tag Team #1 Contenders Match</strong></p><p> </p><p>

This was a pretty good match, with plenty of back and forth and lots of story to tell. TNBT got the early advantage, isolating Reed for a long portion of the match, but they were unable to keep him down for a three count at any point. He did finally make a tag to Savage, who brutalized the good guys with hard hitting blows. Pure Savagery took over from there, trying to wear down the faces, but nothing seemed to work to end the match for them either. There were a couple more similar shifts of momentum before Savage hit Aroma with a low blow the ref didn't catch, following it up with a bear hug that caused Aroma to tap out.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Blue Chip #1 Contenders Match</strong></p><p> </p><p>

We follow up the tag team contenders match with a fatal four-way to determine who will be facing Jason Thunder at Insider Trading. All four competitors put on a pretty good show, with Alvarez having a great day and coming out of this looking the best. There was plenty of action, as the match did the usual two competitors out of the ring at a time, leading to a pinfall attempt and a breakup by someone recovering. All four competitors got near falls on multiple opponents.</p><p> </p><p>

The ending came when Alvarez was down after being sent into the ringsteps, Perez had suicide dived into the ringside barricade, and Marcos and Duran were left in the ring. Marcos looked to be closing in on a victory when there was a thump outside the ring that drew the referee's attention (that turned out to be Alvarez being sent into the ring steps again). Behind the ref's back, Jose Caballero slid into the ring, planted a DDT on his brother, and slid out. Duran recovered from her own dazed situation, and hit the Angel Shocker to get the pinfall and earn herself a title shot.</p><p> </p><p>

Another bit from Apocalypse. This time, they appear to be in a basement somewhere, though the walls are covered with occult symbols and various other accoutrements that might be associated with magic. This is contrasted by The Revelation standing at the front of a conference table at which the other three men are sitting, a slide show being projected onto the stone wall. While Famine, War, and Plague look supremely bored, Revelation skips through a bunch of slides showing the current W$W champions. What he is saying cannot be made out, but when he flips to a final slide that has (badly) photoshopped images of all four men holding the titles, he seems to get everyone's attention. The bit ends with Famine looking right at the camera, snapping his fingers, and the scene cuts to black, the bell tolls, and the word "Soon" appears on the screen.</p><p>

</td><td valign="top" align="center"></p><p>

The announcers bill this as a warmup match for the four competitors, but point out that with Henry and Lomas fighting against each other tomorrow at Insider Trading, neither man could truly be comfortable tagging with the other. The heels are able to use that tension to their advantage, and isolate Lomas for long periods of time. Henry looks on with concern, though doesn't seem to be too eager to get into the ring either. The turning point comes when Shawn Orton appears from somewhere and starts attacking Rich Money at ringside. The referee can't do anything since Money isn't an official competitor, but it distracts Money Talks long enough for Henry to make the tag. He lays out both Sanchez and Pennyworth, working them over for a while before finally hitting Pennyworth with the Earthquake Powerslam and the victory.</p><p> </p><p>

Despite good stats that develop quickly, I can never be completely sold on these guys. Why is that? They are my current lightweight tag champs but I still don't trust in them despite good grades... W$W Blue Chip Championship Match

Our first championship match of the evening is a decent match that definitely showcases Duran's promise as a competitor. She gives Thunder everything he can handle and more, and only some unfortunate ring placement managed to prevent a championship change, as Thunder was just able to get his feet on the ropes on multiple occasions. He would weather the storm, pun intended, however, and eventually hit her with the Thunder Struck in the middle of the ring for the three count.

The announcers say that Showtime requested some competition at this event, which is where this match comes from. Though it wasn't pre-announced and there isn't really any storyline behind it, these two teams were able to put on a pretty good show. Showtime took it to the heavyweights for a while with some guerrila tactics, but eventually they were caught, and the big men grounded them hard. Aroma would nail Phantom with the Cracked Facebreaker to clinch the victory.

The champs are in trouble from the get go in this match. Reed and Savage completely overpower them, taking Allen off the ring apron early and isolating McManus for a long time. They even start playing games with them, and allowing him to almost make a tag before preventing it at the last moment. A desperation neckbreaker on Reed gives him just enough space to make the tag to Allen, and she clears house for a short moment before being cut off at the knees herself. The challengers turn their attentions to Allen, working her over in isolation as well. It's only after she dodges a spear attempt from Savage that drives him into the ringpost are they able to start putting forth some momentum of their own, but they make the most of it. Tagging in and out quickly to hit a few double teams and rapid fire moves, they are finally able to finish the match off with one of Allen's Northern Lights Suplexes on Reed, while Savage was still recovering on the outside.

Though technically everyone in this match are currently heels, the crowd didn't really seem to mind. Everyone had their own favorites and they were cheering for them, drawing a number of competing chants as the match went on. It was a fairly open bout, with all four men getting their offensive spots in, but allowing Huggins to shine. Orton and Huggins slowly developed momentum, and were closing in on a victory when Money just caught Orton's heel when he was bouncing off the ropes. That tripped him up just enough to be caught by Sanchez, and with Pennyworth's help they hit the Buy Low Sell High, giving Money Talks the win.

This match is even better than the previous one, and the crowd is really getting into it as near fall after near fall occurs. Lomas and Savage, in particular, seem to have a hate on for one another, and nearly take each other out of the matchup...but it's Savage that comes up on the top of that particular exchange, leaving Lomas down and out outside the ring and allowing Pure Savagery to team up on Thunder. It doesn't take long after that for Savage to recover, get tagged in, and hit the Locked Hate Demolisher. With Lomas still on the outside, the cover was academic.

The gauntlet match continues with yet another good match. Savagery is obviously a bit winded from their affair with Thunder & Lightning, and Aroma and Lindland make good use of this weakness. Hard hitting power moves are the story of the day, each team trading them back and forth, practically shaking the ring with the impacts. Tag Team #1 Contenders Gauntlet Final Match

To perhaps no one's surprise, it turns out Money Talks had 'drawn' the final spot in this gauntlet, and they made their way to the ring with supreme confidence as TNBT were still trying to catch their breath and recover from the previous hard hitting affair. They took the fight to the faces from the get go, soon isolating Lindland and really working him over. Pennyworth's techical wrestling completely grounded the big man, with tags into Sanchez to overpower him; the smooth tags really showcased Money Talks' experience here. They looked good, and seemed to be easily on their way to victory.

That's when Shawn Orton apparently decided that he wasn't through with this group. Coming through the crowd, he planted Rich Money on the outside. Pennyworth tried to run through the ring to get to him, but was stopped by the referee, who stayed focused on him. While he did that, Orton slid into the ring and dropped Sanchez as well, before rolling Lindland to his own corner and getting out of dodge. Aroma hestitated, but made the tag, caught the reeling Sanchez, and knocked him out with the Cracked Facebreaker. The referee made the three count while Pennyworth was still trying to get back into the ring, and The Next Big Things are your #1 Contenders.

Final Thoughts

I find the in-ring ratings very interesting to watch. They have such a wide range. Lomas was sitting the B's for a while fairly consistently, but hung out in the Ds for this show. I didn't think in-ring performance was affected by popularity, but apparently it does.

That said, I really liked the way this particular episode came together. Everything was in the general range I wanted it to be in (though I was really hoping that Henry/Huggins would have their respective high pops boost that main event). Show was solid and told a good story, I think.

Just wanted to pop on here and say I'm really enjoying this so far. The layout is exceptional, and some of the characters are really cool. Really liking Apocalypse, and a diary that pushes Riley McManus is a great diary in my books.
