What's Going on in Your Game?

Recommended Posts

CZCW, NYCW both gain TV shows, both have their regular shows shown on Wrestleworld. This should be raking in the cash for them as it does for OLLIE but instead it's costing them money when they were making money before. More money is meant to be coming to the companies in the deals then to Wrestleworld so how in the pink and purple polka dotted hell is Wrestleworld COSTING them money?

It should help them build popularity nationally, to the point where their company will grow and they will start making money again. It's a gamble. A smart investment if they have cash saved up and produce quality shows. A risk if they lose stars and dont have the funds.

Started a 1987 watcher game, currently in 1995.

NJPW Died in 91 with AJPW dying in 93 despite winning company of the year 3 years running. The scene in Japan is pretty much dead with a lot of the talent either moving over to Europe or working on the regional scene. Japan's top company is WAR sitting at regional level.

WWF is a global powerhouse with a bloated roster. Piper is the Hogan of this save, becoming the biggest star in the world despite only winning the world title in 94. Speaking of titles, the IC title has been the top belt in WWF since 89 with most main event matches being for the IC belt. Hogan turned heel in 88 and has been jobber to the stars every since. Lex Luger looks to be the next big star and is the work horse of the company (his top row skills are average but he has 99 for basics, psychology, consistency as well as 95 Mic, Char and acting skills) and is one of the most over workers in the US. The top five most over in the whole world are in the WWF: Piper, Andre, Flair, Hogan, Luger. In 6th place is Princess Paula (Finley's ex wife). Bret and HBK are still in WWF but look destined to be midcarders.

The only real star outside of WWF is Kerry Von Eric who is the figure head of WCW, who have sat at cult level the entire save, surviving on WWF rejects.

The rest of the world is pretty much made up of struggling indy companies aside from ASWUK who are the are the biggest thing in Europe and the 3rd biggest company in the world.

Made it to July 2020 in my TCW save; I'm sort of getting things going with Aaron Andrews and Jay Chord feuding. Andrews is champ.

Greg Gauge is still my TV champion with 20 title defenses and thinking of getting him to 23 (Cause Jordan *shrug*)

Signed Ernest Youngman to an exclusive contract and have him and a face turned Joshua Taylor in a bit of a feud off the bat. Taylor has been great in his feedback, want to keep him around and relevant, and hoping Youngman can benefit with this feud off the jump. I originally wanted to mirror Youngman's run like Bret's starting in a tag, but he's too good. I can always revisit that.

Out of TCW, I like to poke around the save and see what's what. Brandon James just beat Rocky Golden for the SWF Championship. Remo got stuck in a feud with Atom Smasher in the co-main event. Interesting to me but I'm totally going to try and poach James as his contract is coming up too.

Then all hell broke loose and I had incident after incident which tanked my backstage rating. I'm now hovering around 4% backstage prior to each show and over half my roster is a "minor negative influence." There's no hope for recovery and while I'm tempted to try and climb out of it, I think it just adds up to an issue with the mod conversion from 2016.

No, I think it's a general thing. I'm personally a fan of it, but as you mention it will take a long, LONG time to recover from it, as all incidents linger for a long time.

But even with a 0% locker room, you still can product decent events so it shouldn't destroy your game. You basically have to remove any negative nancy from your roster and wait a while. If you don't take action the negative events WILL keep piling up. Remove the 5 worst characters and the atmosphere will slowly creep back up, but I'm guessing it takes 5x the time to make it drop to make up for said drop.

It's quite brutal how fast backstage can drop (you can lose 40% after one show!) but I like it.

<p>Hulk Hogan decided to go make another movie (6th movie in my game). Welp, there goes Flair vs. Hogan III at Great American Bash. The trilogy is put on hold. The real question is, how long is he out?</p><p> </p><p>

I planned on having a Vader vs. Hogan trilogy concluding at Starrcade. Here are my options:</p><p> </p><p>

1) Before Hogan leaves, have the Horseman beat him up so he is stripped of the title. Have a Gold Rush Tournament for the belt where I let the computer pick the winners.</p><p> </p><p>

2) I plan on having Perfect jump ship to WCW. When Hennig originally left WCW, he was kicked out of the Horseman. Maybe have Hennig help Flair and the others attack Hogan only to turn on them.</p><p> </p><p>

3) Another option - Brian Pillman or Davey Boy Smith. WWF is top heavy in talent. Maybe one of them go.</p><p> </p><p>

4) Go back to the well with Flair, Sting, Rude, or Vader .</p><p> </p><p>

5) Other options are welcomed. I'm in a funk with WCW. I had great plans, but this kinda' ruined it.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

For reference, I'm currently in February. Hogan leaves in three months. He just defended the belt against Magnum TA and was going to drop it to Flair at the next PPV (March). Then win a number one contender match in April before participating in War Games in May.</p>

This seems like one of the better options. I'd pick Brian Pillman and book him as Flair's future replacement as Flair sees the writing on the wall and trains hard.

Another thing that I was thinking of, how's Al Perez in your universe? Ever try a Black Scorpion angle? In real life that angle was pretty hokey. I'd strip the alien stuff away and just portray a masked character that seems to have the opposition's number via a lot of masked confusion scenarios until they're revealed on tv before the show. Just thinking of a "filler angle" for you until you get your Hogan back.

<p>Just had my 2nd best show (one ppv after my finale, which was my best) and passed the main title from Bash Street to Primus Allen</p><p> </p><p>

It also saw the debut of scythe after the match, who beat down Allen with the Dark Circle (Aldous Blackfriar, Original Sinner, Super Massive Destroyer, and Stacy Clementi), becoming their newest member and co-leader with Blackfriar, after blackfriar made a series of what seemed vague and empty threats and the circle was nowhere near the title picture.</p><p> </p><p>

Dreadnought also had his first non squash match and pushed up to 72 throughout the US after beating Tim Westybrook (was in the mid-upper 20s pop). He is 34-0.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm Medium, but knocking on the door of moving up with the US mainland at 74. Below is my list of people in the top 100 pop. Spade is my favorite as I signed him at 58 and pushed him up. Only dreadnought has gone farther faster, but spade does so many things well.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>After hyping myself up for a new '97 Cverse game, I've gotten back to NOTB. Hours upons hours of prepping and after merely a couple of weeks, Dan Jr. gets shot by a SWAT team at the tender age of 24. Are you frickin' kiddin' me? <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/rolleyes.png.4b097f4fbbe99ce5bcd5efbc1b773ed6.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I know the game is a lot about coming back from adversity and stuff, but this is a little bit too much man. If it was a traffic accident or something I wouldn't have reloaded. But now... <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

I just finished the first year of my NJPW 2010 save. I've always tried to get into a New Japan save, but have usually burned out very quickly due to the touring schedule, so this time I decided to say screw it. I scrapped the touring schedule entirely in favor of having a weekly 2h TV show, 12 PPV's and a second TV show on a 3 month deal twice a year to help get through New Japan Cup, Best Of The Super Juniors, the G1 and World Tag League. There were also two Wrestle Kingdoms in 2010, as after the first one I rescheduled it to be held on new year's evening, here's the card for the second one, also my latest show:

NJPW WRESTLE KINGDOM V:

Hiroshi Tanahashi def. Shinsuke Nakamura to retain the IWGP Heavyweight Title (99)

Brock Lesnar def. Kenta Kobashi (79)

G.B.H. (Makabe, Honma and young lion Tama Tonga) def. S.C.U.M. (Steve Corino, Yoshihiro Takayama and Takao Omori) (70)

KENTA def. Mistico to retain the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title (84)

Tomohiro Ishii def. Hirooki Goto to retain the NEVER Openweight Title (91)

Kishin Liger def. Tiger Mask (84)

Chris Jericho def. Naomichi Marufuji to become the inaugural IWGP Intercontinental Champion (78)

Team 3D def. Yuji Nagata & Ryouji Sai for the IWGP Tag Team Titles (75)

SUWAMA won the Tokyo Dome 20-man Battle Royal (79)

What's next for the bastardized... sorry westernized New Japan? Here's what! Maybe...

- Lesnar will challenge Tanahashi, but fail. I'll probably never put the belt on Lesnar. New Japan does not forget or forgive. At the moment it really looks like Tanahashi might just hold the belt until WK6. Let's see...

- I was building Kazuchika Okada all of 2010. He even had a brief stint as the Heavyweight champion already after winning the New Japan Cup and then defeating Nakamura, but then lost the belt to Tanahashi in his first defense (this will become a plot point in 2012 when they'll meet the next time). His had a bit of a cold war with Nakamura within CHAOS all year, and I'm thinking that the war might turn hot in the following few months.

- Togi Makabe and Ishii have been feuding all year, with Ishii being up 4-0 in their singles matches together. The feud will culminate in the summer with Togi finally getting a singles win over Ishii and also winning back the NEVER belt.

- KENTA will hold the Jr. Heavyweight title probably basically until I can get him to bulk up a bit so I can move him to Heavyweight. Tough luck for the rest of them, but there's always the Tag belts (held by No Limit atm btw) I guess.

- I really don't know what I'm going to do with Jericho or the IC belt to be honest. But WWE didn't offer him an extension, so what was I supposed to do? Not sign him? Pfft.

- Minoru Suzuki is coming in a few months. He's already made appearances challenging Nakamura in a multi-company show I held in february and getting a decent 5-4 record in the G1, but this time I'll bring him in for good. Which will mean bad things to everyone, especially the young lions, but perhaps especially to Tanahashi.

<p>Playing my first ever game as MAW right now and I'm having a huge amount of trouble doing about anything.</p><p> </p><p>

Just finished my second year, which revolved around Bradley Blaze and Papa Swoll going after the Architect for the belt. Got a TV deal on WrestleWorld when I hit Small and am constantly losing around 10k a month due to their production requirements and the wrestling industry being a whopping 9 in the US. Had Roger Monteiro win the belt off the Architect at Where it All Begins Again, and despite putting on shows with good main events, I'm getting low 30s on my events--in part to now being penalized for my production that I can't afford--, which is causing me to drop back down to Tiny constantly. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Great game, but man, I am not having fun in this save anymore. Just a huge pain to have things constantly not go well.</p>

<p>1993</p><p> </p><p>

I finally came to TEW 2020 from EWR so its been a while but most recently...I brought Diesel and DDP into 1993 WWF to form the Kliq with Razor and Shawn. Razor won the WWF Title from Bret at Wrestlemania IX. Shawn is the IC Champion. At Survivor Series though, I'm planning on having the Kliq turn on Razor to set up Razor vs Shawn ladder match for the WWF Championship at Wrestlemania X</p>

Went back to an old SWF save after a long break, very happy to get not only my highest rated PPV so far, but my two highest rated matches also.

swf-nothing-to-lose.png

I was genuinely surprised by Mikey Lau vs Scythe getting that score. Lau put up huge numbers in his prior feud as an underdog against Remo and he's now #4 in my franchise players list below Chord, Golden & Remo. My plan is for Scythe to hold the belt right up until Supreme Challenge 41 against Rocky Golden but I may have to change that and strike while Lau is this hot.

Elsewhere, Rocky Golden has been feuding with Eric Eisen's prize signing Jay Chord since his debut. Golden cannot beat Chord who keeps finding a way to win. At Nothing To Lose Eisen announced that if Golden lost again he would lose his spot in the Awesome Impact Match (my MitB-TLC match). Plan is for Chord to win and cash in his shot on Golden sometime after Supreme Challenge but that might change.

Joey Morgan won his spot in said match; Angry Gilmore moves one step closer to a heel turn manipulated by Kristen Pearce. Kristen dumped Avalanche, took on Mainstream Hernandez and they set out to break up her sister's marriage to Gilmore. In a Loser Leaves The Family match at When Hell Freezes Over, Hernandez got a shock win and the loss is sending Gilmore into a spiral. I'm going to have Gilmore sign divorce papers in the ring (if I could get Jessie back for a night I would have her there to drive it home); go after Remo seemingly with a death wish and finally embrace the anger but turning on Valiant or Lau.

Previously, booking The Crippler's journey from losing a World Championship opportunity to face World Champion Chris Morrissette & finally a Lobster Warrior Underwater Reunion was one of the most satisfying things I've done in this game but this Gilmore turn & rise of Mikey Lau should be fun.

Got my first rated 100 match ever. Had Austin win the Rumble; Bret is going to be complaining that both of their feet touched the floor at the same time. This will lead up to the double turn at WM13. I'm thinking that Hart will cost Austin the title match at IYH in February, but I'm unsure if I want Michaels / Austin at a smaller PPV.

Ran the last big four PPV of the year. No one wanted to do the screwjob and I'm too much of a fan of Bret to go through with it, so I just made it into a kayfabe angle where Bret gets screwed by McMahon who he had been putting down and he is off to the sunset. Gets me the McMahon character and a Bretless WWF.

Hopefully, HBK's back doesn't explode in your game.

Here is my latest event for my created company, the World Wrestling Alliance.

The WWA, uniting the greatest wrestlers in the world!

WWA Badlands

March 2021

Final Rating: 81

In a Aussie Rules Match, The Enterprise (Logan Wolfsbaine & Primetime Jack Pryde) defeated The Tribe (Akima Brave & Tribal Warrior). The finish came when Wolfsbaine pinned Warrior. (67)

Per stipulations of the match, The Tribe must now disband as a team/stable. Once a proud stable of Samoan wrestlers, The Tribe was dismantled after members have departed for big contracts with other companies, not to mention Samoan Machine being fired for repeated drug use. Sadly, their loss to the Enterprise closes the book on the group that first represented the WWA World Tag Team Championship.

Masao Tsubouchi defeated Pablo Rodriguez. The newest sensation to WWA, Tsubouchi remains undefeated in the company with another impressive victory. (49)

The Blueprint (Eddie Howard & Sterling Whitlock) defeated The Party Police (Brock Star & Fro Sure). After a little help from manager Eric Tyler, Howard pinned Star (aka Milton Stewart) for the win. (61)

In a Triple Threat for the WWA Intercontinental Championship, Champion Nelson Callum defeated Masked Cougar & Tanyu Toshusai to retain the IC Gold. Upset that Masked Cougar ended his undefeated streak, Damian Dastardly would interfere in the match, setting up Callum to hit Cougar with the Honey Trap for the win. The IC Title stays in the camp of The Enterprise! (79)

Kurata Empire members Mexico’s Finest (Aztec Prince & Blue Phantom) defeated Thom Barrowman & Ernest Youngman. During the match, fellow Kurata Empire mate Bryan Vessey would attack Barrowman, the result leaving Thom unable to compete. The referee clueless to the outside interference, Youngman would attempt to continue the match alone, but would eventually fall to the numbers game. (72)

In a WWA World Heavyweight Championship Match, Champion Razan Okamoto defeated Challenger Davis Wayne Newton to retain his championship. Despite dealing with a strained rotator cuff (legit!), Okamoto would fight through the pain. Despite his best effort, Newton couldn’t bring the World Title home to The Enterprise, as he fell victim to Okamoto’s Brainbuster Suplex for the 1,2,3. (82)

It is now time for tonight’s main event…

WARGAMES!!!

3 Teams of 3 are about to battle in the dual rings surrounded by a steel cage. The Captain of the winning team will automatically become the #1 Contender to the WWA World Heavyweight Championship!

Les Messieurs

*Captain*Frederique & WWA World Tag Team Champions Superb (Ozzie Golden & Raphael)

VS.

Team Lucha!

*Captain*Mr. Lucha & The Wild Cats (El Jaguar & Tigre Salvaje Jr.)

VS.

The Kurata Empire

*Captain* Masa Kurata, Bryan Vessey, & Tsuneyo Yanagimoto

After a grueling, bloody, forty minute war inside the dual ring steel cage, it is Masa Kurata that pins El Jaguar after connecting with the K-HD. The Kurata Empire survives Wargames! (82)

Frederique suffered a Broken Nose during the match, bringing down the match rating.

As Badlands went off air for the evening, WWA Commissioner Ricky Dale Johnson made it official. Next month, at the biggest show of the year, WWA Wrestle Fest 2021. In the Main Event, the undefeated Masa Kurata will challenge Razan Okamoto for the WWA World Heavyweight Championship!

My best show so far :D

I was kind of bummed going into Buffalo Bash because I just lost Charlie Corner to GSW and he was my top face and figurehead but I tried to sign him exclusively and got into a bidding war with GSW and I wasn't trying to pay that much and bankrupt the whole organization, so I turned Des Davids face ahead of schedule and had a killer match with Stuntman, best one so far! I also lost Dreadnought to CWA and he was one half of my tag team champions with Deuce Deadline, they had excellent chemistry, were in a storyline with The Grinders (McManus & The Butcher (Tully Casey)) which lead to me reuniting The New Wave, Finch was already turning face in his storyline with Rogue and T-Rex so I had him join back up with Barrowman and new tag champions.

2024 is gonna be the year of building up new younger talent because the old vets stamina is dropping and they can't hang in the 20+ minute matches anymore to get the higher scores anymore, a lot can't even go over 6 minutes

Release him and let him sign with a competitor

Thats the idea that has the most traction right now to me. I just don't want him heading to CMLL or NJPW since WCW had to be coerced by me playing them in order to sign Bret.

AF8NSyV.png

Royal Rumble 98

A little slower push to Mania than my 97 Rumble, but hoping this one gets a better rating after a year especially with Austin 100 All over the U.S.

Started small, and have made it to just about reaching big status in my Cornellverse game playing as a lucha promotion. I've been sniping talent from various places. Primarily OLLIE and EILL. I managed to lure away several top talent and have gotten Mr Lucha, Multimillionario, and El Heroe Mexicano to 90+ overness. My main focus is getting to the point where I can take down EILL and dethrone them from the top spot in Mexico, and then hopefully move on to conquering the rest of North America. I had my first ppv in the 90's just recently. So hoping to build on that. My shows have mostly been the 70's and 80's, with a few duds here and there which is to be expected since nobody hits it out of the park every week, and I routinely see the AI booking lower rated shows for the big 3 rather often.

Right now USPW and SWF have been dominant. TCW fell to medium which is where CZCW is now. USPW doesn't look like it will be able to sustain its titanic status forever. Their roster is looking pretty aged. While they've been sniping talent from TCW and SWF, the two don't seem as plagued by an aging roster. I'm watching to see when USPW drops off.
