Super excited about this mod, as the TEW 2016 version ended up being one of my longest saves ! For now I'll play around a bit with the beta version, so I can decide what I'll do on the final version !

 

With that being said, I have a couple of questions/remarks:

 

- Am I completly blind, or is Mae Young missing ? Also I think Armando Alejandro Estrada is missing as well (unless you didn't intend to put him in), and while he's not going to debute for a while, I'd say he's relevant enough to be in the mod.

 

- To the best of my knowledge, Amy Hayes isn't French but American. As for Pierre Williams, I have no idea who he is supposed to be, so I'm assuming he's Peter William, the German guy from CWA ?

 

- Speaking of French wrestling, it is a bit funny to see Jean Corne there but not the french Flesh Gordon (regardless of the fact I hate the guy, he was one the faces of French wrestling at the time and was still wrestling at the time). And I suppose if you want to be a bit more "complete" while not doing the whole scene, you might consider adding Pierre "Booster" Fontaine, Scott Rider, Hellmer Lo Guennec and Jimmy Gavroche. Rider and Gavroche are "known"-ish by the non-fans for their in ring character, Lo Guennec has his own company with good relationships with CMLL and ROH, and Booster is another "big" local name with his own promotion (and, for a time, the biggest one in France with the likes of Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, Tommy End, Vampiro, etc showing up and Japanese indy wrestlers for a show once a year). Obviously, they're not going to be super useful unless someone plays in Europe, but then again who knows...

 

- Still on the topic of adding workers, is there any chances of the following guys getting in ? Tony Roy, Mike Bell (both of which were regular jobbers for WWF at the time), John Chrystal (who also was a jobber, although less often) and Mitch Ryder (who had matches in WWE, WCW, Chikara, IWA MS) are obviously not people who have to be in any and every mod, but I did make a moderately successfull stable with them in one of my saves so it'd be awesome to have a chance to do that again !

Thanks for the feedback. Not sure why Amy Hayes is set as French. She has the wrong birthday and debut too so I'll fix those.

 

I've added 47 workers to the data so far for version 1, my reasoning behind some people not making it in are mainly not enough info known about them (I tend to have a look for ages/debuts bare minimum - or at least a jumping off point where I could guess to within 1 or 2 years of their age). I was going to add Flesh Gordon as I saw him in a match when I was researching Scrubber Daly but already had a Canadian called Flesh Gordon in the data. If I can get a semi decent picture of him, I'll add him as like you say, he was a pretty big deal in France. All the suggestions you have made I will look into adding, but just know if they don't make it in, it is purely due to not enough info found or lack of pictures.

Haha. "Fleisching Out". If you know where to find a younger pic of the French Flesh Gordon I could get him added. Only one I can get is a screen grab from his match with Scrubber Daly and that is rubbish (even after using the various Topaz software). Pierre "Booster" Fontaine, Scott Rider & Hellmer Lo Guennec are all added. I'm looking to get Tony Roy, Mike Bell, Mitch Ryder & John Chrystal added at some point this week (I got side tracked with Mexico again).

 

Due to still working from home and no 2 hour a day travelling (which I've used for researching) I may have a version 1 out well before the June deadline... might even have a viable version 1 out by April!

Awesome, super excited to start a new save with this !

 

So far, I haven't played obviously but I did check a few things in the editor and I've noticed a couple of tiny errors/possible improvements:

 

- I don't seem to find Mae Young and Mike Tyson, is that on purpose ?

 

- Marc Mercier is set as a "People's Person", which he pretty much isn't. Overall it's not that bad since I doubt many people will hire him, but IRL, the dude had and still has a personality much closer to Jim Cornette, fighting with everyone who disagrees with him. He's also pro-syndicate (which is nice, but I don't think you can set that as an attribute for the little I've looked at them) and... shall we say a bit over-the-top ? For instance, he's convinced French wrestlers are better than any WWE/NJPW guy and that a lot of successful wrestlers are actually American, even though they aren't (he notably said Rey Misterio was only succesful because he was from the US, same for Cesaro and others... Over the top, as I said). He's also very, very proud of his father, a former big name in wrestling, and uses it as an argument pretty much on every topic related to wrestling. Now, I don't know how those would be put in the game, but at the very least he shouldn't be a "People's Person".

Similarly, you can probably add "Keeps Kayfabe": he's not completly opposed to comedy, but wrestling is more important than angles for him and he despises heavy comedy stuff. Basically, his level of comedy would be "Regal making faces after the referee hasn't found his hidden brass knuckles" rather than "R-Truth doing R-Truth things", if you will.

 

- Pierre Fontaine doesn't have any attribute, but I think you could maybe add Fearless (he's been known to do the occasional hardcore match here and there, although not taking it as far as deathmatches, and was one of the first to introduce ladders, tables and stuff during the "new" era of French wrestling in the early 00's, if I remember correctly).

 

- Flesh Gordon (the French one) is not so far removed from Hogan in terms of putting people over, so while I'm not sure we should go as far as put him "That doesn't work for me, Brother", he should at the very least have "It's Who you Know". His fans would probably argue he books himself winning because that's fans want to see, but it's difficult for them to want others to win when they are never winning against him He's also known for keeping kayfabe as much as he can, pretending the results aren't known beforehand even during interviews outside of wrestling.

 

- Dave Bautista is set to debute in January 2000 but he actually had a couple of matches in WXW in October 1999 if wikipedia and cagematch are right. Wrestlingdata even has him debuting in 1997, but without any match in 97 or 98.

 

- Travis Tomko is set to debute in January 2002 but had matches in 2001 according to cagematch. Both cagematch and wrestlingdata even have him start in 1999, but maybe they only meant he started to train back then ?

 

Now, all I have is find the motivation to create two workers (John Crystal and Palmer Canon) I used in my TEW16 save and I'm set for the next few months
