TEW 2020 Small Questions Thread

Recommended Posts

Since the developmental trainer option no longer exists, is there a point to sending veteran workers to developmental?

As far as i can tell... kinda yea. For one, they WILL improve if only slightly. For two they serve a similar purpose as they would have in 2016 when you send them there to train others.

Them being in developmental gives the young talent someone good to work with.

I've found veterans to be relatively less complainy in this about going to developmental. If theyre old and surly and superstars then yes, they will complain. But I signed a few vets cheap just to populate my developmental territory and theyre all there. It helps if you sign people with positive dispositions.

When talking to workers, particularly in regards to 'Are you willing to work in X region'...do they ever say no?

I was playing around in India, and every worker I approached and asked if they were willing to work there (cuz it only has like 7 workers right now) said yes. So...is this something I should post to the suggestions/bugs forum, or have I just been lucky? I have, for the most part, only been talking to the unemployed, so that might make a difference.

Quick questions about skill progression:

Why is the selling skill developing much slower than the other fundamental stats?

Also why do my guys not progress in their entertainment skills at all? Many of them are rated on entertainment weekly on TV and after 6 months there is no change at all

http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2364195&postcount=60

Also remember that selling, like psychology, is a stat that takes an entire career for most people to get really good at. Some people "get it" and are good in it early (Ben Williams, for example and Cameron Vessey) but most people take a long time to become really good salespeople. If it's over 40 (I think it's 40), they're okay at it and that's all that's really needed. Look at it this way. 40 is average, 75 is excellent, 90+ is god tier.

Is there a way to view an individual workers relationships other than the general backstage screen? I can't find it anywhere!

View Profile (or click their picture if they're on your roster) -> Personal Info

If I only set promotions to not "Sign" workers (and leave the "agree to not steal" unchecked) from one another, will they still be able to try to "Steal" someone when their contract with the rival company is almost up?

Or in this case, do they have to wait for that Worker to be completely out of that other company?

Edit: I ask because I want it set to where certain companies wouldn't have any of the same workers at the same time, because that's how it really is.

Then go to the edit worker contracts in the editor and chose CM Punk. Change his contract dates to anything under 30 days. Renegotiate your deal with him and make sure that you allow him to work in the ring. When you signed him you probably put him under no in ring activity.

Is there a perfect core product for AEW where "dangerous match set ups will be penalised" isn't one of the consequences? I don't think that applies to AEW. I'll do a ladder match and get a "this type of match isn't a good choice for this crowd", or whatever it says. I looked through all the other product bases and none of them seem to work better for AEW, but maybe I missed one or maybe I don't know of a way to customize it even more?

As you know, popularity caps can change now, based on a worker's skill progression (ie, an untalented, charisma black hole is unlikely to have a good cap when he debuts, but if he gains sufficient skill over time, he won't be stuck at the same cap he was generated with like in previous games). But there is still a cap based on their current skills and destiny.

Unedited Greg is a pretty fantastic worker, but he "only" has 74 SQ and his entertainment is around the high 60s/mid 70s. That's really really good, but it's not The Rock or Steve Austin. He'd still need a bit of help from destiny to become a legend, which I'm guessing he hasn't received in your save.

Makes sense thanks man. Some of my guys are really good and cant get over 70 (the one thing they have in common is they're not super experienced that could be it). All of my Mexican guys are like megastars. I have guys like Des Davids who gain pop no matter what I do win or lose. Then i have guys like Greg who are really really good and kinda stuck in the 80s somewhere no matter what megastars I have them beat.

I guess part of the issue is subjective understanding of the stats. The way my brain wraps around a star quality like 74ish that it's like "THAT GUY IS GREAT!" but 89 pop on a worker IS really great. In my head. He gives me great matches with that pop and can even deliver a quality promo in a pinch I'm not saying he's not worth it for me.

Where I'm having a problem is my company has far outgrown it's stars and I'm getting that "not enough big stars" ding to attendance for my PPVS. I have a roster of like 70 guys and only maybe 4 of them are in the 90s consistently. The rest are all capped out or whatever. I'm still getting great numbers though so it's not like game breaking or anything.

I'm finding its easier to get popularity for my workers in 2020. At least more straightforward in how to do so. It's just the cap I'm still kind of perplexed by but l'm not complaining I'm just trying to figure it out.

Why can't I get Edd Stone past 70 popularity in any region? His star quality is higher than that.

What size is your company? If you're 'Small', you need to move up to Medium. 70 is the maximum popularity a worker can get to while working for a Small company. Doesn't matter how far your broadcasting reaches. You need to be Medium or higher to get workers over 70 popularity.
