Give Me Rules For A Game - Re-Rebooted

Recommended Posts

<p>I hadn't seen anyone make this thread so far for 2020, so I thought I'd start it.</p><p> </p><p>

For those who aren't aware, this is a popular format for previous games. You can find links to the 2013 version <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=525317" rel="external nofollow">here</a>, and the 2016 version <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=541853" rel="external nofollow">here</a>. What you do here is lay out the scenario for a game you want to play and ask other people for rules to make things more interesting.</p><p> </p><p>

My current plans once the full game is released is to play as a custom company, ZOOM! Wrestling, with a gimmick that it will only hire young wrestlers (those 20 or younger at the beginning, or a birthdate of 1/1/1999 at the earliest). It will be a 0/0/0, but I'll start with about $120,000 that I'll immediately spend most of making a PPV and a Free-To-Air Broadcaster. It will run a full schedule of weekly shows and monthly events immediately. I'll be starting with several custom characters, mainly my user avatar and his girlfriend, who I'm setting as the owner since I like owner goals.</p><p> </p><p>

Assuming that custom products don't become available, this is the product I'll run: Fast And Furious with a full face-heel divide, managers and stables allowed, Match and Angle Focus at Regular (although I might change this one), and Women's Wrestling at None. I do plan to add a women's division once I'm big enough.</p><p> </p><p>

So one big question then a request for rules. How strict should I be with my age limit? Should it apply only to workers, managers and on-screen personality or to all talent, period? If it's the latter, I'll need to make a valid referee, but that's fine. Beyond that, any rules you think would spice up my plans would be appreciated.</p>

OK, here some rules.

4) The Traveling Circus! You first shows must be done in every region of the area. Explanation: for example, your area has five regions, you must have each of your five shows in every of the five regions.

I like #1 and #2. It keeps to the general theme I'm going for without making things too harsh.

#3 I might need to tweak a bit, because as written, it just means "the only woman you can sign is Venus Angeletti".

#4 is a good twist. I will still want to focus on one region to get ticket sales up, but I think that's a good way to start.

#5 and #7 are things I was already going to do anyway, so that's fine. #6 may just not come up, because it's hard to have stables with only ~12 wrestlers.

Overall, that's still a few good rules to get things started.

#3 You can lower that to 80. :D

#6 You must keep at least one for 18 months, better? ;)

Could I get some rules for CWW by chance?

2008 WWE anyone?

You may not hire anyone.

You may not fire anyone.

You may not change the product

Ever notice how no matter which promotion you play as, they all end up feeling the same? Playing the companies as they are helps to freshen things up. By not replacing the regulars with your favourite indy goons you'll have to make stars of the workers already there, you'll find new dependable in-ring workers, and people you never knew will become the bedrock of your company.

(If you are suffering with small roster penalties or don't have enough referees etc, you may hire more people. You may NOT fire people for causing trouble in the locker room.)

I'm recreating a renamed Babes of Sin City in the C-Verse.

Give me rules! The wackier the better.

OUT OF THE LOOP: The women's wrestling establishment doesn't exactly respect BSC, and if a worker's willing to take a job with you, it probably means pickings are slim. You can't employ more than 3 workers (at any time) who are also employed by another company that features women's or integrated wrestling. If any of your workers is employed by an equal or larger-sized company, and is considered a star or major star there, that worker immediately resigns.

STARDUST'S FOLLY: Somebody on the creative team -- not pointing any fingers -- is irrationally dedicated to making BSC a "real" wrestling promotion, and insists on showcasing your roster's in-ring skill (such as it is). At least one match per show must feature the Technical Masterclass aim.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY OBJECTIFICATION: Are you trying to fight sexism, or expand your potential audience? Maybe a little of both... in any case, at least half of your managers/personalities must be male. At least once per show, an angle must feature a male character who's graded on Sex Appeal.

ANOTHER KIND OF SIN: If you're going to run a company in Las Vegas, you have to accept that drugs are readily available to your employees. On top of that, the pressure to get in shape for the ring pushes some workers to take... certain shortcuts. A "dirty doctor" is always present backstage. Upon hiring a new worker, you must use "talk to worker" and suggest taking steroids. (In-character, this would reflect recommendations from other workers, rather than an actual suggestion from management. You only need to ask once. If they say no, that's fine.)

The Inner Circle must add a member by All Out.

Darby Allin must maintain his reputation as a guy who doesn't win big matches; he can't win a title for a year.

Omega/Page must hold the tag titles until at least All Out.

No more signings who are ex-WWE guys for the rest of the year.

Chris Jericho can only wrestle once a month; his matches are special occasions.

You must introduce 2 tags teams, and break 1 up, by All Out.

You can not turn Wardlow face until at least All Out.

These are great thanks, anyone got anymore I’m hoping for a really long term save so the more the better.

Anyone got anything for 1991 WWF?

Embrace the heat: Sgt. Slaughter has to either beat Hogan at Mania VII or be WWF champion by Summerslam.

Don't FIGHT FOREVER!: Bret Hart & Shawn Michaels can't be participants in the same match until after Mania VIII. The only exception is the Royal Rumble.

We've enough Flair here: Flair is going to be a WCW lifer. If his contract comes up, you're not bidding for him. If he somehow becomes a free agent, then he's fair game.

Long Overdue: It became commonplace in recent WWE that the Rumble winner got a title shot at Mania. Jim Duggan, first Rumble winner, never got his. Build up Hacksaw enough that he main events a PPV in a WWF title match.

Odd one out: Mr. Perfect, Owen Hart, Jake Roberts. One can win as many titles as your heart desires through their career. One can never win the World Title. One can never win any title. Choose.

Any rules for WWE starting in June 2020?

Have it your way then: Sami chose his own personal welfare over what was best for Vince's company. As long as Vince is alive, Sami Zayn is never winning another title.

One last chance: Finally, it seems like the creative team are ready! They've started and stopped for a decade but now is the time... finally! Dolph Ziggler is winning the World title and holding it for at least 6 months!

WE MAKE OUR OWN STARS DAMMIT!: No bidding for AEW stars when their contract comes up except for Jericho. You need him for the Hall Of Fame!

For old time's sakes!: Before Mania 37, or at Mania 37, Cena and Orton must main event one of your big 4 PPV's. The choice is yours!

Break the record!: Before his retirement, Cena will become a 17-time world champion.

They're gone, that's it!: Any of the talents recently released by WWE in the Covid-19 cuts are staying released. No re-hiring.

<p>I have temporarily uninstalled TEW 2020 to be able to focus on another game I want to finish (Shantae and the Seven Sirens), but I will re-install it as soon as I'm done saving the world with hair flips and, since I'm undecided about what to do next, I need your help. I know my next game will:</p><p> </p><p>

Be as a custom company</p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">That will be based in a region where not many other companies are based;</div><p></p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">That will employ a product not used by any other company in the game;</div><p></p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">That will join the COTT, at the start of the game or after a while.</div><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

But the rest, I have no idea. Hit me up with your suggestions. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
