</span></strong><strong><span style="font-size:8px;">Last updated 28 December 2020</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

Spark India Media Group and Wrestling India announced today that they have hired a new creative director for wrestling. Amazingly, that creative lead is none other than American producer Cesar Kaslow. Best known for reality show “Survival of The Hottest” and for his over-the-top and violent US wrestling promotion The Club, Kaslow's signing comes with plenty of questions, not least how the notoriously controversial producer plans to run a family friendly televised product in India. </p><p> </p><p>

Kaslow, wearing an extraordinarily elaborate sherwani for reasons no one entirely understands, was unveiled by Spark Media's press team at a conference that also featured Wrestling India's current management team of Baba Taru Singh and Bharat Chowdhary. Chowdhary, typically seen as the creative force behind the partnership, will apparently transition into a leadership role alongside Singh. Chowdhary will also be helping to develop the young local talent on the roster to allow Kaslow free reign over the creative direction of the company.</p><p> </p><p>

Kaslow's first test will come at the television taping session scheduled for Thursday, 4 January 2021 in Delhi. The session is expected to tape enough content for four episodes of the company's well received weekly show Saturday Sansani.</p><p> </p><p>

Baba Taru Singh and Bharat Chowdhary were unavailable for comment while Cesar Kaslow was apparently quickly ushered out of the building by Spark Media's press team following the conclusion of the press conference.</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2503998&postcount=2" rel="external nofollow"><strong>As we exclusively reported yesterday</strong></a>, Spark India Media Group and Wrestling India have hired controversial promoter and television producer Cesar Kaslow to be their new creative lead. It appears that Kaslow is already getting himself in trouble with his new employers after a live microphone caught the American booker muttering <em>“suck it, Brian Jack”</em> as he left Sunday's press conference. </p><p> </p><p>

Spark Media have declined to comment on the short video clip currently doing the rounds on Squawker, but a source inside the company told us that the company are less than pleased and have made their feelings clear to Kaslow.</p><p> </p><p>

Kaslow running a promotion in India? That should be a recipe for disaster <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Saturday Sansani #33 lineup revealed and alleged backstage incidents at WI television taping

Last updated 5 January 2021

Spark India and Wrestling India have released the following preview for the upcoming episode of WI Saturday Sansani:

WI Saturday Sansani Episode 33 Prediction Card

WI World Championship Match: Tiger Singh © vs Rick Thunder

Bollywood Knights vs Mercury Dynamite

Sir William Whitlington's open challenge

Dr Dinesh & The Patels vs Mumbai Majesty (Vijay Samson & The Mahals)

Problems backstage?

Wrestling India can't keep out of the news this week. First the promotion (and parent company Spark India) controversially announced that Cesar Kaslow had been appointed as the new creative lead for the company, and now it appears not all was well backstage at the company's first television taping of the year, and the first to be run by Kaslow himself. Reports coming out of the Delhi arena suggest that Sandeep Gupta and Vijay Samson were caught smoking backstage, breaking a long-standing rule put in place by Baba Taru Singh and Bharat Chowdhary. However, despite their transgressions, Cesar Kaslow is decided to have taken no action against the duo, and even asked for a cigarette for himself from one of the two grapplers. The trio managed to keep things under wraps until after the taping when a fan leaked a video on Squawker. Spark India have refused to comment, but insiders suggest that Baba Taru Singh and Bharat Chowdhary are furious at being undermined by the newcomer.

In other backstage news, Bharat Chowdhary continued his role of judge and jury at the company's notoriously strict "wrestler's court". Vikram Chetri is said to be the latest to step up to the dock, accused of being late to pick up travel partner Rick Thunder. Chetri will need to buy all of Thunder's meals for the next three tapings which, given Thunder's unparalleled appetite, could prove to be a costly mistake for the youngster.

WRESTLING INDIA PRESENTS...SATURDAY SANSANI EPISODE #33

The show opens up with a quick introduction from our announce team, Rahul Rasgotra and Baba Taru Singh, welcoming viewers to a new year of wrestling with WI Saturday Sansani's 33rd episode.

sUWnrrZ.jpg3JcMngF.jpgMLycO5V.jpg

The camera then turns towards the ring as the energetic entrance music of “The Maharajah of Bollywood” Vijay Samson hits the arena sound system. Samson and his lackeys, stuntmen Prince and Lucky Mahal, dance their way to the ring as the crowd boos their arrival. Vijay says that this is a new year full of promise, and the year that he finally gets the respect he deserves. Seemingly oblivious to the continuing boos of the crowd, Samson happily states that he was going to start basking in that respect...right now! The Spark India Champion says that he has a special surprise for everyone here tonight; a New Year's Celebration worthy of Bollywood itself! And as if that wasn't enough, the star attraction would be the biggest movie star in India today...himself! As Vijay's entrance music begins again, the three members of Mumbai Majesty begin dancing as patriotic white, orange and green streamers are released from the ceiling. The trio's musical interlude doesn't last long, however, as the stoic-faced Dr Dinesh Dhawan makes his way down to the ring followed closely by Jash and Kal Patel. They are here to get their match started!

DR DINESH DHAWAN & THE PATELS vs MUMBAI MAJESTY

The team of Dr Dinesh Dhawan and Jash and Kal Patel might be makeshift for this match, but the three wrestlers are far more experienced in the squared circle than their opponents and so what they might lack in fluidity they more than make up for in sheer in-ring ability. This mismatch is almost immediately clear to Vijay Samson who finds any and every excuse to avoid getting into the ring. In fact, when Prince Mahal, having been beaten pillar to post by Dhawan, comes begging for a tag, Samson drops off the ring apron at just the right moment for his lackey to overstretch, bounce off the top rope and turn straight into a Dhawan Drop from his veteran opponent. While Lucky seems upset at the abandonment of his brother, Vijay is incensed that his charges couldn't get the job done and asks why they didn't tag him in...

cCdVPTA.jpg

Once the ring is clear of bodies and the leftovers of Vijay Samson's celebration, Sir William Whitlingham, the Englishman that the local Indian fans love to hate, makes his way down to the ring. Sir William explains that there is very little about Wrestling India he likes, but the arrival of Cesar Kaslow must surely be a sign of things changing. Sir William states that he has spent the past three months wrestling nobodies and that needs to stop. If there was anyone in the locker room that thinks that they could beat Sir William then they should come out and prove it...

O1tQt6K.jpgyCpL5xc.jpg

...and so Cloud James and Taha Chhetri do just that! James and Chhetri, the WI Indian National Tag Team Champions known collectively as Tequilamigos, walk slowly to the ring with huge smiles on their faces. James, in his double denim street clothes, was clearly not here to wrestle but he is the first to speak. He mocks Sir William for claiming that he had only wrestled nobodies despite holding a win-loss record that would embarrass the arena's janitor. James states that he has other commitments this evening, but Taha Chhetri certainly doesn't. Taha tells Sir William he'll go easy on him before throwing the microphone over to a ring attendant and hitting the unsuspecting Englishman with a huge right fist! Referee, ring the bell!

“Big Bam Boom” TAHA CHHETRI vs “Lord of The Realm” SIR WILLIAM WHITLINGHAM

Taha Chhetri might have taken a cheap shot at Sir William before the bell rang, but he made sure that the rest of the contest was a fair fight. In fact, he looked to have underestimated his opponent when the Englishman gained the upper hand after a finger in the eye stunned the tag champ. After realising that he needed to take the match a bit more seriously, Chhetri stepped up the pace and it wasn't long before a Chennai Blaster put his opponent down for the three count.

A pre-recorded segment is up next, as the action cuts to a dark side street somewhere in New Delhi. Above the alleyway a light flickers on and off and from the darkness a figure emerges. It becomes clear after a few seconds that the shadowy figure is none other than Lugosi, a man (if you can call a vampire a man) that hasn't been seen in Wrestling India since he lost the Spark India Championship to Vijay Samson in November. Lugosi drawls, just loudly enough for the microphone to pick up, that he has been on a journey. A journey back to his roots. Back through his fears. Back through his nightmares. A new era is coming to Wrestling India. One where the fallen rise and the arisen fall. Where the hungry shall feast. As Lugosi steps backwards, slipping back into the shadows, a shrill scream can be heard before what sounds like the manic laughter of the man from Transylvania.

BOLLYWOOD KNIGHTS (Amaan Singh & Ranjin Vidur) vs MERCURY DYNAMITE (Nampreet & Janjeet Mercury)

The Bollywood Knights are definitely one of the top tag teams on the planet right now, even though their departure from PWI in 2018 was seen by some as a critical assessment from Shane Allman over their ability to draw a crowd. Not so in India, where the duo have been recognised as major stars and their record over the past two years speaks for itself. For their part, Mercury Dynamite continue to show signs that they are developing into a great tandem themselves, but the youngsters could never really outmatch their opponents despite flashes of excellence. A well fought match came to an end when Amaan Singh hit Janjeet with a Singhshot Suplex just after the ten minute mark.

Bollywood Knights (Amaan Singh & Ranjin Vidur) def. Mercury Dynamite (Nampreet & Janjeet Mercury) in 10:17 [RATING: 43]

PMuI3aF.jpgG2ZgxkB.jpg

Victory theirs, Ranjin Vidur and Amaan Singh demand that the referee hand them a microphone. They say that they are tired of reading rumours that their time in Wrestling India is “over” because they failed to win the tag team titles back from the Tequilamigos. The Bollywood Knights want no one to be in any doubt – they are here to stay and they are going to win back those titles from Cloud James and Taha Chhetri. And when they do, the Indian media, fans and wrestlers better be very sorry for the things they've said about the Knights!

“The Prince of Delhi” TIGER SINGH © vs “The Boulder” RICK THUNDER

Tiger Singh and Rick Thunder have had quite the rivalry in Wrestling India over the past two years. In fact, each of Tiger Singh's two previous World title reigns in the company were ended by the American. Thunder was clearly hoping to continue that theme by taking the title from Singh for a third time at the first time of asking. But it is clear to long-term fans that each time that the two meet they become more and more familiar with the other, leading to very tight contests that could easily turn on the flip of a coin.

Rick Thunder came out firing on all cylinders, hoping to catch the champion off guard by using some effective, but slightly clumsy, amateur wrestling takedowns rather than his typical brawling style. The exertion of his early flurry soon caught up with Thunder, however, and it wasn't long before he was on the back foot. Returning to his familiar punches, kicks and brutal slams, Thunder still looked dangerous but the speedier, less tired Singh looked to be on the ascendancy.

Thunder's kick out from the Delhi Driver at the 10 minute looked set to turn the tables back on the American's side, but when he missed his own finisher, the Thunderous Leg Drop, a minute later he left himself wide open to Tiger Singh's final flourish. Capping off a series of stiff kicks and snap suplexes with a second Delhi Driver, Tiger Singh was able to cover the challenger for a hard fought three count and the first defence of his current reign!

Wrestling India World Title Match: Tiger Singh def. Rick Thunder to retain the title in his first defence [RATING: 52]

XI4zZvn.jpgggkNAhq.jpg

Infuriated at his defeat, a staggered Rick Thunder comes up behind the celebrating Tiger Singh and blindsides him with a massive clothesline to the back of the head. With his rival down, Thunder slips out of the ring and pushes a young intern from their seat at ringside. Clambering back into the squared circle, Thunder cracks the steel across the back of Singh before feeding the champ's arm into the gap between seat and frame. Thunder stomps on the chair once, but doesn't seem impressed with the minimal effect that it has. Rather than try again, Thunder immediately begins clambering up onto the second rope! Just as the big man is about to jump, an action that will surely break the arm of Tiger Singh...

K8Jg9OH.jpg

...his way is blocked by the sizeable frame of the legendary Baba Taru Singh! The elder statesman had seen what Thunder had planned and left the commentary booth just in time to prevent a disaster. Thunder hopped down from the turnbuckle and stood nose-to-nose with Baba! Laughing in the veteran's face, Thunder exited the ring, but not before promising both Singhs that this feud was far from over.
