The Death of WCW?
The Giant?! Blimey! Two huge WWF coups in a month! Great show man, as usual. It deserved an A*, but I guess as you used the not so over vanilla migdets it was gonna be hard. Personally I'm glad you used them, because as previously stated, I always felt like the should have been better utilised. Great show :)
I'm a firm believer if you don't get your newer talent profiled and out there, you just nail another coffin into WCW long term. That was a huge problem previously with WCW. Not enough decent exposure for some great, great wrestlers. Thanks for the thoughts, glad you liked it! I always had a bit of time for the Giant. Andre the Giant was of course a massive folklore character in some ways, but this bloke is every bit as good as him in my book.
So many ways this could go, WCW 2000 is a diary writers dream. I like what you've done with it so far.
Thanks for that. Much appreciated. I don't like closing too many stories off completely. Things are always open for interpretation and twists and swerves.

...
The Giant Shocks Fans by Returning to WCW By www.wrestlingisgoodmmkay.com correspondent Jack Dimoff World Championship Wrestling managed to spring another shock at the just completed Blaze of Glory Pay-Per-View, springing the surprising signing of Paul Wight to the locker room of WCW from the World Wrestling Federation. Wight, known in the World Wrestling Federation as the Big Show was the reigning Intercontinental Champion, which prompted much debate as to how Vince McMahon's empire could allow Wight to jump ship back to World Championship Wrestling, where he has redubbed the Giant the name he used in his initial WCW run. It reminds many of us of Jeff Jarrett's switch from the World Wrestling Federation to World Championship Wrestling, and his hold out for a pay top up to drop the Intercontinental Championship to Chyna at No Mercy 1999. It also reminded many of us of the departures from the World Wrestling Federation of the likes of Scott Hall and Lex Luger in the mid 90s when both wrestlers gave verbal guarantees they would not jump ship. Vince McMahon can be labelled many things, but one thing about his character is his loyalty and faith in his staff. For such a sharp businessman, it is slightly disturbing as to how many times he has been caught on with protracted contract negotiations that World Championship Wrestling has managed to jump on. However, as opposed to the Undertaker's arrival in World Championship Wrestling at SuperBrawl Revenge, fans were not so happy to see the return of the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Infact, many of the hardcore WCW fans feel duped by his presence. When the Giant initially appeared at the tail end of the Pay-Per-View, his presence whipped the crowd into a frenzy, frenetically chanting "GIANT"..."GIANT"..."GIANT"..., as it looked likely he was able to clear house on the heinous "Positively" Chris Kanyon, who had just retained his WCW World Heavyweight Championship in a 5 star Tables, Ladders and Chairs match with Booker T. Instead, Giant turned on Booker T, choke slamming the former champion through a stretcher as he was being attended to by EMTs. A cross section of typical WCW fans was asked their opinion as they exited the Orlando Arena:- "Dang ole it was hella surprising to see the Giant. He so big and strong, like hot dang." Reggie and Cletus "I tells ya now, he scum. Damn scum. Booker T needed his help. You don't do that to friends. He ugly scum." Bluey "Who do these people think we are? Low down trailer park trash or something? I was disgusted. I used to like the Giant. Not no more. We too smart to fall for this loser." Martina "Booker T is the reason this god damn fed is still open, man. He embodies everything about WCW, just like us fans are your average WCW fan. Giant shouldn't do what he did, but like, you know, he's still hot." Erica "Wa. Giant no good." Herman "Y'all, I've watched Flair, y'all, I've watch Dusty, y'all, but I've never been so angered in my life ya know." Stephanie So there you have it, while it doesn't appear Giant's appearance was met with a glowing reception, he certainly garnered some interesting heat. More news as it comes.

Kind of wierd to see the Giant Job on his first show back... besides that really nice show man!
Yeah I thought the booking of the Giant was a bit curious. Not only did he job in fairly straightforward fashion to Goldberg, but the post match shenanigans hardly left him in a glowing light either. Just seemed a strange move to destory his "aura" (for lack of a better word) so soon. Of course it can be built up again, but eh... I guess I'll wait to see what happens in the next few shows before getting too overblown on it. Oh and nice PPV btw, didn't get round to reading until Nitro had gone up. Got the call on the Steiners two matches kinda right... just the wrong way round, doh. Also glad to see Kanyon get out of dodge with his belt.

Alright, finally I am caught up on everything so I can post my comment. Brother, you just get better and better every show. First Undertaker and now The Giant. You are on a role. I cant wait to see some of the better in-ring talent from the WWE coming over, like Shawn Micheals for instance. I have no doubt that you can get him or anybody else for that matter with the way you are going. I like where this whole Kevin Sullivan thing is going. I re-adds that whole thing like with The Outsiders where you have people guessing "Is This Real?" I love the shows and the PPVs so far brother. Sorry that I have not left more regular feedback, I just got behind with everything that has been going on. Love the shows and the new banners look hot.

The following was reported last night on www.wcw.com
World Championship Wrestling would like to confirm the following staff member's receiving releases from the promotion. They are;

Brian Adams
David Flair
Ms Jones
Daffney
World Championship Wrestling thanks all four workers for their contributions to WCW and wishes them all the best for their future endeavours. "We are always focussed on delivery quality wrestling action that is sustainable to the bottom line which ensures longevity for our product," John Simpson said today. "All four have been a part of that vision in the past and indeed recently we had tried pushing David Flair as well. However we will be looking at revolutionising the bottom half of our roster to give better quality action week in week out. Obviously it is a sad day to farewell a long term veteran such as Brian Adams and a sad day to see the son of a wrestling legend in 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair not quite achieve to the level some unduly expected. Being the son of such a performer can be a blessing, or a curse, and unfortunately in David's case he did not overcome the curse to make it a blessing. We wish all four the very best of luck." WCW has confirmed the releases are immediate and unconditional.
It's nice to think of WCW (me old favourite) being the place TO go rather than the place everyone wanted to leave. The Army of Darkness was the vignette side of it with John Simpson. I didn't get to see much of the A.O.D, although I did see some of it on youtube and elsewhere and it seemed fairly dramatic. I think it's important to not lose roots of what the territories gave us. Thanks for the thoughts all.

What y'all didn't see tonight in the pre-show before Fire went to air was two matches. First off Dave Bautista fought and defeated Norman Smiley. Lots of screaming. Then y'all that Bob Orton's son dawg fought and defeated General Rection. Fought I'd pass that onto y'all dawgs. Dave Bautista is a beast. Just on some other things noticed by the homies in the crib, Flair is the shiznit on working a crowd dawg, Goldberg is a monster, and Miss Hanc*ck has a nice piece of grade A rump on her, if y'all know what I'm talking about. Peace out dawg. ......... His son is Randy Orton. Woof woof. Rick sent this arena report in Hey guys, What's chillin. We rocked up to the Selland Arena early last night, and we noticed a few things we thought we'd share

When Buff Bagwell arrived, the chicks went nuts
We asked Fit Finley who's a road agent about Booker T, he said he wouldn't be here
He lied
We were talking to one of the ring attendants who told us that Brian Adams and David Flair are no longer with WCW
A few of the wrestlers did some warm ups after the ring was set up to a near empty arena - This included AJ Styles and Juventud Guerrera who were doing a bit of talking, about their match maybe? Behind the "curtain" we could see Ric Flair talking to Rick Steiner. Kayfabe can't be as good as it used to be
Dave Penzer tried getting us all going, but he's a bit of a douche
Things we noticed throughout the night included that Goldberg is huge
But the Giant is bigger
Torrie Wilson is cute
But Miss Hanc*ck is hotter
Larry Zbysko got a big pop when he came to the ring before the action started
Tony Schiavone though, did not
The fans hate him
We were sitting sort of behind the ring, so behind the commentators, and when Randy Orton was fighting General Rection we could hear a very audible "Tony sucks!" chant
Doug Dillenger was very vigilant in getting rid of bad signs
One sign had "WCW=Wrestler Carcuss Wetirement", that got taken down real quick
Even signs with links to those E-feds things.... GORRRRNEEE... I noticed one for www.newerawrestling.com that was destroyed real quick
Competition maybe?
After the show went off air, Goldberg and Kanyon kept on brawling
On that isn't it funny how they take away the signs, but they had a guy called Sign Guy?
Keep chilling boys Rick ...... Thanks for the arena reports. We're always happy to put in your "arena" reports or general wrestling comments.

He's not... Space Mountain
He said he remembered back in the mid to late 90's sitting in the back with "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson
Possibly the toughest son of a gun ever to set foot in a wrestling ring
And they both watched in awe at some young guy who got better match in, match out
Every match something new would come out...
Or our personal favourite, when Bruiser Brody made Lex Luger jump the cage to save his tail!
Even the unagile likes of Andre the Giant could use the cage for freakish spots
The steel cage is a difficult, unforgiving, career-ending or career-making arena
And these two men know how to use it
And use it well
And they did
The blood flowed like wine
For fans of violence and carnage, this was the shiznit
The unrelentling steel structure asked no quarter, and was given none
It was beaten
It was mauled
But it wasn't hurt anywhere near as much as either Steiner or Sting
Both men's faces were grated like cheese
Sting used the top of the cage even for a frog splash off the top
Which connected
He was uanble to move
But his body was on top of Steiner's....
The referee administered the count...
1....2....THR... NO!

A* Attendence: 8,419 Rating: A* Fire drew 3,824,591 viewers on CBS WCW's US Popularity rose to 78.1% Reggie O sent this arena report in Dawg, just want to see piece to my n***** out there first off.
