He has that evil persona about him that I have missed over the years since the big E got a hold of and changed him to a comedy act. I also like the reference to when Foley won the WWF World Title and almost instantaneously you could see all viewers change over to Raw. I was hoping he would kill Schiavone though - Not sure who AWOL is. Could you point me to a profile? - Disco is an idiot! However he did look strong in that match with Vader so it’s a plus for him. Again I like Vader in this WCW, he has that unstoppable monster thing going, but you think people can beat him kind of like Samoa Joe in TNA right now. I’m holding out hope that Vader and Undertaker will meet somewhere down the line. - I like Undertaker and Sting as tag team partners, but I would like them better as opponents. They both have that back from the dead thing going on and I always felt that that match would have been THE reason the Alliance angle could have worked if Vince could have signed Sting. - Another great match between Booker and Kanyon. I love where this is going. Booker made a great fighting champion, but he also makes a great face that is chasing the title. - I really like how you put The Steiner’s back together. Giving both men something to do while bringing back arguably one of the greatest tag teams of all time. - I really though Undertaker would make his way back to the ring for the match. You have something planned! - I have to say I did not like the image of Undertaker on crutches. I know you want the man to NOT seem invulnerable, but putting Undertaker on crutched is just wrong - Another great show brother and to agree with keefmoon (thanks for the props on my diary keef), yours is one of the best on the boards right now. You have great character development, your matches are exciting and your storylines are well thought out. You do a great job brother. Man if the real guys in power would let us book wrestling, it would be so much better today. Its just a shame that the pro-wrestling world is filled with egos the like of Vince McMahon because if some of these guys (Jeff Jarrett included) were to just sit back and listen to hat the fans wanted to see, wrestling would be so much better than it is right now. I mean TNA does a better job of listening to its fan base then the WWE does, but even then there is still room for improvement. If I ruled the wrestling world…" TNA? What's TNA? I mean, yes, we all here like a bit of T n' A, but c'mon, this is a show that has some younger viewers as well. We can't talk Jenna Jameson and Krystal Steal all day long my man. Thanks for the email though. Smile, you're on "In the Mailbag Today". [*]Officer Keef Moon from Colorado sent this in "top post. i agreed with every part of that message. except i know who awol is, as im playing as wcw on the 2001 mod at the moment. but aside from that everything was spot on. including the undertaker on crutches thing. whilst i can understand why you did it, if i had to say one person who shouldnt be put on crutches it's him. just my opinion though. its your dynasty and you're doing a blooming good job so far. speaking of which, that last show was great, as usual. the foley thing is great, and if you keep building as it is eventually it should simme rits way to one of the best things on wcw at the moment" We think the whole Mick Foley thing is looking not too bad too. Hopefully WCW don't ruin it by jobbing out the Hardcore Evolution to Glacier. Whenever anything good happens around WCW, that inevitably happens. Another great show man. It was very interested that you took two matches from the last show....Vader vs Disco & then Awol vs Rhino and gave the underdogs the victories in both matches. I definatley didn't see this one coming. It'll be interesting how you continue these two mini programs. Also, Sting & Taker pairing up against their perspective Steiner, good idea. Smart move putting one over a Steiner and one losing too, makes for an interesting next show. Overall, another great show. IT's great how your taking the smaller talent and giving them CLEAN victories over some of the "Stars" of the WCW era. Good stuff. Keep up the good work. Kanyon vs Booker Program is going great.... Goldberg vs DDP...WCW classic, and will always deliver in some way Sting & Taker teaming together, brilliant Jeff Jarrett vs Rey Mysterio is something fresh an interesting and I'm going to love to see the outcome of this one in the end. If anyone gets the chance check out my diary, which has been updated, at the following link. http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16348
Another great show man. It was very interested that you took two matches from the last show....Vader vs Disco & then Awol vs Rhino and gave the underdogs the victories in both matches. I definatley didn't see this one coming. It'll be interesting how you continue these two mini programs.
In terms of the underdog thing - I marked out for Goldberg, but the more I thought about his streak, the more I thought he'd put a nail in WCW's coffin, directly or indirectly. Indirectly in that if the show was made around him post winning the title it'd have been worth it, directly because his push stymied a lot of other potential successors to titles. So while guys like Vader, Goldberg, even Undertaker etc. I like to push with good series of wins, I also like to keep them vulnerable. I don't think it'd be good to tune into a show knowing who is going to win, which happened with WCW to the point it started making the matches itself basically useless. As I've said before, we watch a promotion always first and foremost for one thing, wrestling. When you lose that, what have you got left? I'm more happy to give a push to a genuine wrestling talent like I have with Juventud Guerrera.
Also, Sting & Taker pairing up against their perspective Steiner, good idea. Smart move putting one over a Steiner and one losing too, makes for an interesting next show.
I don't know if it was smart, I guess more just logical.
Overall, another great show. IT's great how your taking the smaller talent and giving them CLEAN victories over some of the "Stars" of the WCW era. Good stuff. Keep up the good work.
I've thrown in a few 'dusty' finishes, but mostly I prefer clean finishes. I think it's important to put on a good match and have a logical finish. As I say, I don't think you should tune into any showing knowing what the outcome of matches are.
Kanyon vs Booker Program is going great....
Thanks, appreciate it. I want to really put a prestige on the actual title itself. The amount of belt changes, and who the belt went on (Russo, Arquette etc.) completely and utterly killed the image of the belt in my book.
Goldberg vs DDP...WCW classic, and will always deliver in some way
I was a bit of a closet DDP fan. Simple, no frills, but effective.
Sting & Taker teaming together, brilliant
A bit of a dream team I guess. I like it :)
Jeff Jarrett vs Rey Mysterio is something fresh an interesting and I'm going to love to see the outcome of this one in the end.
Two of my favourite all time wrestlers. One a great out and out wrestler, the other a master antagonist.
If anyone gets the chance check out my diary, which has been updated, at the following link. Nitro Review - I take it things are going well with Torrie and Lance if they headed into a porn store together. Way to go Lance! - Oh no NOT DAVID FLAIR!! They guys has no talent at all! - After getting their asses handed to them by David Flair they had to take it out on poor RVD. Whats up with that! - So what, is DDP the Godfather of WCW now? - Jeff Jarrett = the new WCW United States Champion. I love it. That’s Ja Double f Ja Double r e Double T, Jeff Jarrett! - Holy Hell, Disco beat Vader, no way man, no way! Fire Review - Go Rhino! Kill David Flair! - Now Batista is losing to Disco? I’m not sure I like Disco in this underdog storyline. To me, he was just so much more than cannon fodder. - Awesome 4-Way for the TV Title brother! Again I have to say you do a great job in this WCW. I love how Booker was forced to team with Kanyon and DDP with Goldberg. Even if Ric did not like it, I think it added a lot of GOOD conflict to the storylines between them. Both of those matches should be great.

 • 2 weeks later...
Gidday guys Sorry for the delay... things are probably going to be fairly slow for another month or so in the lead up to my exams... I've been very busy last couple of weeks working on assignments. A big shout out to Rob Gamble, one of the sharpest minds in the game and a guy I had a lot of fun with in "e-feds", whose come up with these new logos for WCW. I think you'll all agree, these are hot. Introducing Friday Fire Introducing Glycerine For the upcoming Blaze of Glory Pay-Per-View And the official "Death of WCW?" banner. I will from time be posting some vignettes, but the next show will be somewhat delayed. Once I finish my exams, WCW will be back on a roll. As Ric Flair would say... WOOOO!!!

Following a strong first quarter of professional wrestling, some experts have discontinued the 'Death Watch' on World Championship Wrestling. I however, have not. Blaze of Glory promises to be an important part of what I've labelled the Death of WCW. A poor pay-per-view could completely diminish the good work currently going on by all within World Championship Wrestling. And for that, we should credit all in charge and all in the locker room for the recent turn around in performances. As you are all aware, we here at www.wrestlingisgoodmmkay.com were particularly critical of World Championship Wrestling's slap happy DQ results, their inability to push new superstars, and their inability to make sense in their storylines. Largely, it became good for only one reason - to serve as a nice pension home for some of this sport's most over the hill stars. The only other reason we saw for the promotions existence was to rehash storylines, over, and over, and over again. How many instances of the New World Order did we see? Hello. It was hot once. Let's move on. A bad pay-per-view where the organisation slips back into old habits could be detrimental for World Championship Wrestling. Hardcore NWA and WCW fans are starting to 'believe' again. Frustration is rising with continued ordinary showings from their major competitor, World Wrestling Federation. This is their chance to cement their place in professional wrestling, or rehammer another nail into the coffin of WCW. We are just a week away now from Blaze of Glory, and without further adieu, I will preview some of the matches slated. Firstly, let me say it has been a real pleasure to see good cruiserweight action reappear in World Championship Wrestling. People often think the New World Order was the be all and end of WCW. They were wrong. Cruiserweights like Juventud Guerrera, Rey Mysterio Jr, and various other lucha libre influenced wrestlers like Blitzkreig and Psicosis were the driving force in the WCW undercard. An undercard that outperformed their opponents week in, week out. The problem though was that the undercard was never allowed to move up to the midcard or main event, with the veterans hogging the spotlight. "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels is looking to defend his WCW Cruiserweight Championship against the energetic and exuberant Shannon Moore. Christopher Daniels looks an outstanding prospect for WCW, a wrestler the promotion could look to base its midcard around in the very near future. Moore has always had that agility and energy that commands respect. Perhaps his extra experience may pay dividends here. What part though will Kevin Sullivan and the Army of Darkness revolution play in this match? His mind altering tactics seem to already have paid dividends with the recruitment of the Cruiserweight Champion. Are we going to start seeing something different from Christopher Daniels? Can he keep his focus on the match at hand? Can Sullivan use his cagey experience to guide him? Or will Daniels become another Benoit who is held back by the manipulative Kevin Sullivan - a man who should be utterly condemned for his part in the Death of WCW pre-John Simpson times. How he screwed over the Radicalz etc. for petty self differences is amazing... Although, I guess, Woman was fairly hot and losing her could drive a man insane. The other question that plays on my mind in this match was the sequence of vignettes on WCW.com whereby John Simpson himself, the off-air President was sounded out by Kevin Sullivan repeatedly. One thing is for sure though, interest in the Cruiserweight's hasn't been longer in a long long time. Hopefully WCW keeps the belt on Daniels, he is a superstar in the making. No disrespect to Shannon Moore. One thing that has perenially held back World Championship Wrestling has been the free spirited ill discipline of several key rising superstars. One name in particular fits this bill well - "Sultan of Swing" Juventud Guerrera. Rumour has it he has behaved himself well backstage lately, since being given another chance by World Championship Wrestling. He's on the receiving end of probably the biggest push of professional wrestling career. He has made 12 successive defences of the World Television Championship and could be ready for a move up the charts to the big leagues perhaps going after the United States Championship. "The Franchise" Shane Douglas is also somewhat ill regarded behind the scenes by many established stars, notably "Nature Boy" Ric Flair. However, his entertainment skills and his general in ring psychology should not be dismissed. Infact, given those skills, I think he'll upset Juventud Guerrera and set himself up for a long Television Championship reign, freeing Juvi to rise up the charts. The final match on the first part of our exclusive preview is the fatal three way dance for the United States Heavyweight Championship. The belt is currently held by former World Heavyweight Champion "Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett, a noted favourite of former WCW head honcho Vince Russo, and a man that has had a massive falling out with Vince McMahon over dropping the Intercontinental Championship to Chyna bofore jumping ship back to WCW. The two challengers are the most recent champion, Sean O'Haire, and "New Generation" Rey Mysterio Jr. Many feel Rey Mysterio Jr or Sean O'Haire are potentially the next big things within World Championship Wrestling, and both have had recent success against prominent superstars. My pick in this one is for Sean O'Haire to regain the title, allowing Jeff Jarrett to move back to the main event scene. Jarrett is currently one of the most polished all rounders in World Championship Wrestling with a large shred of wrestling credibility and it'd make perfect sense then for the former Natural Born Thriller to take the belt off him at Blaze of Glory. Don't discount Rey Mysterio Jr though. If there's one thing WCW fans love, it's an underdog. And Rey Mysterio Jr is the best underdog in the sport today.

One of the most anticipated matches on the card at that. And yet, it does not involve a championship. The match in question pits Lance Storm against "The King of Old School" Steve Corino. Without further adieu, here is the preview. Fans are dubbing this the Battle of Torrie Wilson. The beautiful Boise blonde was at the centre of the turmultuous split of the highly touted tag team, the New North South Connection. The New North South Connection was as the name suggests a tag team built in tradition and prestige, honouring departed superstars Dick Murdoch and Adrian Adonis who formed the initial North South Connection. However, it appeared that Lance Storm began to take a liking to the blonde bombshell, which did not sit well with the "King of Old School". Steve Corino prides himself on carrying out wrestling the way it should be done - winning battles in the centre of the squared circle against other hard nosed athletes. Winning gold. Giving your all in the art of wrestling. Love should not have an influence on a wrestling tag team in the eyes of Steve Corino, so it was always inevitable that the duo would come to logger heads when Storm's own traditionalised heart fell into the tangled web of the beauty that is Torrie Wilson. And so it comes to Blaze of Glory 2001, where the stipulations are simple. Chivalry against the sentiment that romance holds no place in the world of professional wrestling. Who will win? The chivalrous devotee of Torrie Wilson, or one so bitterly backwards that believes a woman's place is not in a professional wrestling arena. My money is on "The King of Old School" Steve Corino. Winning, and performing some unruly act to Torrie Wilson, be it laughing in her face, or giving her a quick one two, or planting a kiss on her, could elevate Corino into near mega-star status. His talent suggests he should achieve greatness throughout his career. Perhaps this will be the stepping stone.
