Mid South Rasslin' [LSW, CVerse 2020]

Only thing is that I don't consider Cactus Jack a threat for Kip in a Main Event, I think you want to give relevance to The Most Wanted again but to me it was too soon.

Yeah agree 100%, I just found myself without a strong main event alternative and go with Keenan-Jack. Ideally, without Storm Spillane on the injured list, Dynamite Express vs Cobras could've been a huge main event for the tag belts.

Total Wrestling News - Invading South West (#1)

A discrete earthquake has hit the South West territory in the last few days, as Lone Star Wrestling tried to snatch some of the best talents in the region by offering exclusive deals. CZCW played defense, managing to retain all his workers at the price of having to offer them exclusive pay-per-month written contracts that will weigh heavily on the Coastal promotion's coffers in the upcoming future. This wrestlers are Jay Becker, California Love Machine, Masked Cougar, American Flash and Simon Waves.

With a hint of conspiracy, many see this result as a victory for LSW, however, which according to rumors forced their hand to scare CZCW - and obliging them to sign all these talents on exclusive deals - and weakening GSW. In fact, all five of these South West wrestlers were previously also part of the hardcore promotion's roster on handshake deals. Suddenly, Brother Grimm finds himself with most of his main event scene gone and with his company's future jeopardized, as Eddie Peak is also on his way out after signing a new contract to return in TCW.

Why would Lone Star Wrestling want to hurt GSW? Well, a few insiders report how Ricky Dale Johnson is intent on expanding his promotion into the South West, bringing a mix of Classic Southern Rasslin' and Old-School Wild West Hardcore to win a potential regional battle over GSW and IPW. Of course, these are just rumors for now!

Total Wrestling News - Invading South West (#2)

Lone Star Wrestling's incursion into the South West continues and increasingly seems to have a well-defined strategy. After some huge loss for GSW and their main event scene triggered by LSW itself, this time it's IPW that finds itself raided by Mid South, as Ricky Dale Johnson's promotion just signed a couple of IPW's main stars to exclusive written contracts. First one is Fro Sure, an hip-hop well known artist who's pretty damn good and has tons of charisma. Many insiders were shocked that no big company snatched him up, and Fro Sure will now head Mid South to join an already talented roster, especially for a small company. Lone Star Wrestling also signed Aces High, who will rejoin his friend and tag team partner Cali Slick, one of the hottest stars in the company right now. Two weakened hardcore South West promotions are now a interesting prey for LSW, will RDJ really start booking some shows in South West in the upcoming months?

LSW Mid South Tag Series 4 - Qualifiers
Saturday, Week 2, April 2023
Held in Irvine Hall (Mid South) in front of 2,348 people
99,339 viewers on WrestleWorld

Held in Irvine Hall, a Kansas venue with historical feel to it, LSW presents the qualifying bouts for the Mid South Tag Series!

The Oklahomans (Patterson, Night) vs Nonstop Action (Chamberlain, Gray) in a Qualifying match
In a opener aiming to work the crowd, The Oklahomans and Nonstop action battle up in a decent rematch from last month. This time, Tyrone Gray scores the W for Nonstop Action by quick roll up, returning the favor as The Oklahomans won against them in the very same way just a couple of weeks ago. [48]

Kip Keenan, Southern Stinger vs The Hot Taggs (Kalder, Wolfie) in a Qualifying match
What a tag team enters the Series! Fan favourites Kip Keenan and Southern Stinger team up against The Hot Taggs in a decent match, winning in little more than seven minutes as “The Stinger” submits Wolfie Tagg with a Stinger Fall. In terms of in-ring work, Kip Keenan is head and shoulders above everyone else. [58]

The Gonzalez Family (Bandido, Maniac) vs Tavon Blake Jr, Texas Hangman in a Qualifying match
Representing The Most Wanted, Bandido Gonzalez and Maniac Gonzalez collide against the fresh new duo of Tavon Blake Jr and Texas Hangman in a decent two-on-two. After nine minutes, Sayeed Ali interferes in the match, distracting “The Hangman” to allow The Gonzalez Family to score the victory by pinning “The Grappler” Tavon Blake Jr. [48]

Marvel Malloy, Rob Reynolds vs The Empire (Del Veccio, Milano) in a Qualifying match
As Storm Spillane is still out injured with a torn quad, Marvel Malloy teams up with Rob Reynolds against The Empire, with a returning Antonio Del Veccio who scores the W for the new Yorkers, pinning “The Motor City Menace” after hitting The Italian Way. Despite the loss, Marvel Malloy is kept strong. Also, an upcoming Cobras vs Empire tag team bout is hinted even more by the announcing team, as soon as Storm Spillane will come back. [58]

In a short in-ring promo, LSW Tag Team champs Cam Jones and Syd Collier brag about the fact that - due to being champs - they are already qualified for tomorrow’s main show and don’t need to earn a spot for the Quarter-finals. Wondering how should they celebrate their upcoming Series win, The Dynamite Express are interrupted by Ricky Dale Johnson who ask them to leave the ring so the show can continue, for the joy of the crowd. [63]

The Most Wanted (Cactus Jack, Maverick Martin) vs David Stone, Jared Johnson in a Qualifying match
David Stone and Jared Johnson find themselves against The Most Wanted brigade they hate so much, as just recently they cost Stone and “Double J” a tag team title match. In a decent bout, after almost eleven minutes Jared Johnson locks Maverick Martin in his Carolina Crossface, and leader Cactus Jack can’t save him in time, as “The Maverick” quite immediately taps out. Venus Angeletti does some good work at ringside as Cactus Jack’s valet. [60]

As The Most Wanted return backstage, the entire group reunite as The Gonzalez Family are there to help. Cactus Jack embraces his role as leader, promising that David Stone and Jared Johnson will pay for this. But looking at tomorrow, Jack Pryde hypes up Maniac Gonzalez and Bandido Gonzalez who qualified for the final rounds of the Mid South Tag Series. [48]

The Wild Cats (El Jaguar, Tigre Salvaje Jr) vs Davis Wayne Newton, Dreadnought in a Qualifying match
In a decent two-on-two, Dreadnought pins Tigre Salvaje Jr in ten minutes following a devastating Dread Bomb to qualify himself and partner Davis Wayne Newton for tomorrow’s final rounds, making agent Laura Catherine Huggins happy. Tough loss for The Wild Cats, even though they gave them all tonight. [58]

While Shooter Sean Deeley and his partner Big Smash Clay are already in the squared circle, with agent Vinny Cruz at ringside, Cali Slick walks out to introduce his tag team partner for the Series AND former tag team partner when they were fighting in South West: ACES HIGH! The Californian makes his debut, portraiting his Swagger gimmick that gets an initial rating of Great. [50]

Long Beach Crew (Cali Slick, Aces High) vs Shooter Sean Deeley, Big Smash Clay in a Qualifying match
In a main event that has great wrestling and a decent reaction from the Kansas crowd, the reunited Long Beach Crew score the W over the LSW Texas Heavyweight champ and Vinny Cruz’s security guard. After more than thirteen minutes, Aces High is the one to pin Big Smash Clay with a High And Low to seal the deal. Despite the loss, Sean Deeley is obviously kept strong and his rivalry with Cali Slick becomes more and more heated. [59]

To close the show, the boss Ricky Dale Johnson and his assistant Mya Catalan thanks everyone in attendance and promotes tomorrow’s LSW Mid South Tag Series 4, live from the Irvine Hall! Which tag team will triumph in the tournament? [55]

LSW Mid South Tag Series 4
Sunday, Week 2, April 2023
Held in Irvine Hall (Mid South) in front of 2,615 people
110,818 viewers on WrestleWorld

Live from the historical venue Irvine Hall in Kansas City, Lone Star Wrestling presents the 4th edition of the Mid South Tag Series with some live music from a local rock band and some nice special set that enriches the production. From the announcing table, Lee Bambino and MC Motormouth recap previous tournament winners; in 2020 the trophy went to “The Big Guns” Cowboy Buck Winchester and Outlaw Wes Revell, in 2020 “Hollywood” Jake Idol and Ernest Youngman emerged victorious, while last year winners were “The Heartbreak Express” Johnny Needham and Ralph Liotta. Who will win the 4th edition?

The Dynamite Express vs Nonstop Action in the First Round of the Mid South Tag Series

In a bout that has good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, tag champs The Dynamite Express have to contain their opponents high-energetic pace that repeatedly puts them in trouble. However, the combination of chemistry, cunning and cynicism of Cam Jones and Syd Collier allows them to advance to the Semifinals, as they hit a combined Chop And Change on Tyrone Gray after eleven minutes, pinning him for the victory. Very good opener. [64]

Kip Keenan, Southern Stinger vs The Gonzalez Family in the First Round of the Mid South Tag Series
A dream duo in LSW’s universe, babyfaces Southern Stinger and Kip Keenan strike a nice W against The Gonzalez Family, representing The Most Wanted faction with whom both “The American Eagle” and “The Stinger” had beef recently. In a bout that has good wrestling and a decent reaction from the Irvine Hall audience, after nine minutes of wild brawl, Kip Keenan hits the young Bandido Gonzalez - fka as Marco Gonzalez - with his One-Winged Eagle to score the pinfall. The distractions of Cactus Jack, Venus Angeletti and Maverick Chip Martin at ringside were not enough to help the arrogant Puerto Ricans triumph. [63]

The Most Wanted immediately jump in after the bell to beatdown Kip Keenan and Southern Stinger, but once again Jared Johnson and David Stone make the save, forcing Cactus Jack's brigade to beat a retreat. However, The Most Wanted still manage to do damage even in this situation as, during the ringside brawl, Maverick Martin has stomped the steel stairs where David Stone found himself stuck with his right leg! The brigade returns backstage, while all three other babyfaces worry about the condition of young Stone, who in a few moments should be fighting in his Series match alongside Jared Johnson. [50]

The Empire vs David Stone, Jared Johnson in the First Round of the Mid South Tag Series

Following the brawl, The Empire take on Jared Johnson and David Stone kayfabe-wise visibly injured on his leg, who nevertheless fights like a lion. Eventually though, after a twelve-minutes decent match, the Canadian next gen star can't stand the pain anymore and crumbles on the mat, and Brutus Milano finishes him with an Italian Backbreaker while Antonio Del Veccio keeps Jared Johnson at bay. [59]

Davis Wayne Newton, Dreadnought vs Long Beach Crew in the First Round of the Mid South Tag Series

With agent Laura Catherine Huggins and James Prudence at their corner, Dreadnought and Davis Wayne Newton go against Long Beach Crew in a bout thas has good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd. The Californians are the clear babyface who score a decisive win in almost twelve minutes, as “The Draw” Cali Slick surprises Dreadnought with a fast roll up: 1 .. 2 .. 3!! Long Beach Crew advance to the Semifinals. [62]

Keep causing havoc even backstage, as cameras spot them arguing with staff members and acting like real jerks, The Most Wanted group is stopped by the boss himself, Ricky Dale Johnson. Having gone over the edge, which is no easy feat since RDJ is really open-minded when it comes to brawls, interferences and wild acts, Cactus Jack and his brigade are banned from Irvine Hall for the remaining show, as the boss does not want The Most Wanted to jeopardize the Finals of the tournament. [48]

The Dynamite Express vs Kip Keenan, Southern Stinger in the Semifinals of the Mid South Tag Series

In a Semifinals bout that has superb wrestling and good heat, the LSW Tag Team champions Cam Jones and Syd Collier take on fan favourites Kip Keenan and Southern Stinger in the best match of the night. Some well-balanced tag team bout, a couple of close kickouts and break-ins, but eventually after sixteen minutes The Dynamite Express attempt a Chop And Change who gets avoided, “The Stinger” throws Syd Collier out of the squared circle, while Kip Keenan hits his One-Winged Eagle over Cam Jones: 1 .. 2 .. 3!! Kip Keenan and Southern Stinger just defeated the tag champs and advanced to the Final of the Series. [69]

antoniodelveccio.png brutusmilano.png   aceshigh.png calislick.png
The Empire vs Long Beach Crew
in the Semifinals of the Mid South Tag Series
In a bout that has good wrestling a decent reaction from the crowd, The Empire is able to defeat Long Beach Crew in ten minutes as Antonio Del Veccio pins Aces High with a handful of thights, taking advantage of the chaos bringed by Shooter Sean Deeley and Vinny Cruz’s distraction. The Empire reach the finals where they’ll fight Kip Keenan and Southern Stinger later on, while on the ramp the LSW Texas Heavyweight champ Sean Deeley seems satisfied with the idea of costing his rival Cali Slick the Series. [58]

We’re heading backstage, where Sweet Tabitha interviews “Hollywood” Jake Idol, presented as a former winner of the Mid South Tag Series, as in fact he won it in 2021. Jake Idol talks a bit about the tournament, before delivering a classic bragging heel promo to draw some heat for his upcoming matches. “Hollywood” does a masterful job of improvising. [47]

Right after this interview, a taped video from Sayeed Ali and his uncle Travis Century goes live, as “The East Side Assassin” talks about his recent victory over Texas Hangman, avoiding to point out that it was a tainted W though. “The Preacher” Travis Century echoes his kayfabe-niece’s words, revealing that Ricky Dale Johnson informed them that Texas Hangman asked for a rematch against his target, Sayeed Ali. Travis Century says that “The East Side Assassin” agreed on that and it will be a rematch at LSW Unchained 2023, in just a couple of weeks! Travis Century than preaches that, unlike Texas Hangman, when Sayeed Ali has someone in his sights he won't miss. [58]

On their way to the ring as they wipe off their sweat and cool off by drinking water, Antonio Del Veccio and Brutus Milano find time to mock Marvel Malloy, still alone without his injured partner Storm Spillane, whom they cross paths with backstage. The Empire taunts “The Marvel” and both heels seem to take victory in the Final of the Series for granted, so Marvel Malloy takes his leave warning the Italian-Americans not to underestimate Kip Keenan and Southern Stinger, because in his honest opinion, “The Cobra” thinks The Empire will come out of the Final with a fist in their hands. A nice segment to hype an upcoming The Empire vs The American Cobras match. [50]

Kip Keenan, Southern Stinger vs The Empire for the Mid South Tag Series

In a bout that has great wrestling and good heat, “The American Eagle” and “The Stinger” go against The Empire as both duos looking for lifting the Series trophy right after the match. Starting slowly, selling fatigue from the beginning due to have been in multiple matches earlier on, both tag teams have good performances. In terms of in-ring work, Kip Keenan proves once again to be head and shoulder above everyone else, while Brutus Milano is the weak link, not because of his own demerits but rather because of the high level of the competitions. After seventeen minutes, the Italian-American commits the mistake predicted by Marvel Malloy, underestimating their opponents now sure of having triumphed, but in a few moments everything changes: Kip Keenan gets rid of Brutus Milano, while Antonio Del Veccio ends up the victim of the Southern Stinger Drop: 1 ... 2 .. 3!! Kip Keenan and Southern Singer win the Mid South Tag Series, sending the crowd into raptures. [67]

While the babyfaces celebrate and raise their well-deserved golden trophy up in the sky, the boss Ricky Dale Johnson walks out on the ramp. RDJ keeps it short, congratulating the winners after a great performance and awarding them with a LSW Tag Team title match at LSW Unchained in just a couple of weeks!!! It looks like the boss saw a money-making tag team and ran with it, hoping that it will be good for his business. [69]

Total Wrestling News - LSW Released Two Workers

It looks like that in the past month Lone Star Wrestling terminated handshake deals of a couple of wrestlers who worked in the Mid South in recent years. “Bandit” Waylon Walls went missing on LSW's main shows after being kicked out of The Most Wanted faction, and his release would seem to be due to the absence of creative ideas for him. New Mid Atlantic champ, Miller Fforde, was the second cut on the roster, ending a midcard babyface stint without highlights or memorable moments, and the sense is that ownership never really gave him a chance of being a more important player on the card. Considering that the Lone Star Wrestling roster is getting bigger and bigger, a couple of releases were predictable, and insiders assure that there should be no more cuts in the active roster.

Preview for LSW Unchained 2023

Frantic Ali vs Tavon Blake Jr
A sizzling singles match between two tough individuals from South West should open the show, as heel brawler Frantic Ali will try to impose himself on babyface “The Grappler” Tavon Blake Jr, in a bout that promises to be quite technical and methodical. Some hard shots against old-school grappling, which strategy will prove successful?

The Empire (Del Veccio, Milano) vs The Wild Cats (El Jaguar, Tigre Salvaje Jr)
Coming out defeated in the Final of the Mid South Tag Series, Antonio Del Veccio and Brutus Milano came close to glory, walking out of the Irvine Hall with a fistful. The Italian-Americans will be furious and wounded in their pride, and they will try to lash out against The Wild Cats in tag team action, but beware of underestimating the babyface Mexican luchadores who might take advantage of The Empire's wrath to outsmart them with guile, maybe winning with a quick pinfall of which they are masters.

Sayeed Ali vs Texas Hangman
In a rematch from last month's LSW No Place for Old Men, where Sayeed Ali defeated Texas Hangman in a tainted way following a knee strike on poor Hangman's testicles, “The East Side Assassin” will try to impose himself again on his rival and former adept of “The Preacher” Travis Century, uncle and manager of Sayeed Ali. Both competitors have a target on their backs, who will be the predator and who will be the prey? One thing is for sure, we will see some classic southern' action in this one!

The American Cobras (Malloy, Spillane) vs Nonstop Action (Chamberlain, Gray)
The American Cobras are back in action! Storm Spillane finally healed from his torn quad injury and will team up with partner Marvel Malloy against Maliek Chamberlain and Tyrone Gray in an all-babyfaces two versus two. The Cobras are an elite duo, no doubt about it, but there is a big question mark over the physical condition that the returning Storm Spillane will be in, who against the speed and the never-ending stamina of Nonstop Action could find himself gassed out and out of energy after only a few minutes.

Also, the boss Ricky Dale Johnson has a major announcement to make!

Taheiji Konoe vs Zap Powerson
“One of the best young prospects in this business,” “A can't miss talent,” so far Zap Powerson has lived up to these high expectations in his early matches, but at LSW Unchained 2023 the heavyweight babyface will have to raise the bar even higher. His opponent, in fact, will be the savage Japanese Taheiji Konoe, accompanied by his manager Duke Hazzard that brought him to Mid South to unleash his fury. Will Zap Powerson be able to tame “The Animal”? Or will Taheiji Konoe slaughter the young prospect?

The Dynamite Express (Jones, Collier) (c) vs Kip Keenan, Southern Stinger for the LSW Tag Team titles
After triumphing in the 4th Mid South Tag Series, fan favorites Kip Keenan and Southern Stinger will again find themselves to team up with a golden chance in their hands. Ricky Dale Johnson awarded them with title shot, seeing a money-making duo and running with it. Will these two babyface stars be able to become the new LSW Tag Team champions? The Dynamite Express, current champs, will certainly do everything to not drop the title belts and to avenge their own defeat against “The American Eagle” and “The Stinger” during the Semifinals of the Series.

Shooter Sean Deeley (c) vs Cali Slick for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title
And in the main event! “The Shooter” will defend the LSW Texas Heavyweight championship from the onslaught of his arch rival, as well as one of the hottest acts in LSW right now, “The Draw” Cali Slick! A couple of months ago, Sean Deeley defeated Cali Slick in a championship bout with a tainted win, and ever since then the Texan Rumble winner has had this rematch in his sights to get revenge on “The Shooter” and his former agent Vinny Cruz. After Cali Slick and his friend Aces High eliminated Sean Deeley and security guard Big Smash Clay during the Series, “The Shooter” himself asked for this one-on-one despite Vinny Cruz's attempts to change his mind, proving that he is not afraid of Cali Slick and is ready to clash against him again here in the Mid South. “The Wrestling Machine” and Cali Slick have been “Unchained,” free to hurl themselves at each other in a must-seen main event for the big gold!

While Cali Slick could be given the chance to hold the Heavyweight belt, IMO there are better choices like Stinger

Frantic Ali vs Tavon Blake Jr

In a decent match between two tough individuals from South West, Frantic Ali and his hard-hitting brawling goes against Tavon Blake Jr and his technical grappling. Aiming to work the crowd, this match gets the show off to a strong start, also both competitors have pretty good chemistry and it lifts the bout. After eight minutes, Frantic Ali gets the W by pinfall with a Death Valley Driver. [55]

We already go backstage, where a limping David Stone with conspicuous leg bandage, after the assault of The Most Wanted during the Mid South Tag Series, is with his friend Jared Johnson, as both babyfaces were interrupted by Jake Idol. “Hollywood” in fact mocks David Stone for getting ripped off by that Cactus Jack brat and his loser brigade, recalling how until last year's “Prime Time” Jack Pryde was willing to kiss his and Ernest Youngman's butts to get a spot in their “Inner Circle.” Going too far with mocking an injured David Stone, Jared Johnson steps up and challenges Jake Idol for a match later on, proposing to talk to the boss Ricky Dale Johnson right away to make it official. [52]

The Empire (Del Veccio, Milano) vs The Wild Cats (El Jaguar, Tigre Salvaje Jr)

In a decent two-on-two, Antonio Del Veccio and Brutus Milano unleaash their wrath after losing in the Final of the Mid South Tag Series, facendo soffrire El Jaguar and Tigre Salvaje Jr che però per pochissimo non riescono a beffare the Italian-Americans with a quick pinfall da cui Antonio Del Veccio kick outs at 2.9. After nine minutes, Brutus Milano almost decapitates El Jaguar’s head off with a Clothesline, then pinning him with an Italian Backbreaker. The announcing and colour quality lifts the match. [56]

Sayeed Ali vs Texas Hangman

In a rematch from last month's LSW No Place for Old Men, “The Hangman” and “The East Side Assassin” square off in a wild brawl that has great wrestling and good heat. With his kayfabe uncle at his corner, Sayeed Ali holds his own against the strength of babyface Texas Hangman, managing to play to the edge of some rules, often taking advantage of the rope break to the count of four. Unlike the last bout, Sayeed Ali seems destined for defeat, as Texas Hangman completes his comeback and grabs his rival by the throat, ready for his Choke Slam... But once again “The East Side Assassin” hits his rival with a knee to the testicles, causing him to collapse on the mat. The referee, however, has seen it all this time, and is forced to call the DQ! DQ! DQ! Texas Hangman wins by disqualification. [64]

With a kneeling “The Hangman” at his feet, Sayeed Ali taunts his rival and the Houston crowd, seeming more interested in wanting to punish Texas Hangman and avoid defeat than succeeding in defeating him in a match. Travis Century goes crazy at ringside, inviting his niece to beatdown Texas Hangman, who, however, suddenly gets to his feet! OMG! Sayeed Ali is caught off guard and a furious Hangman puts his hand around his neck: CHOKE SLA... NO! Sayeed Ali manages to duck it mid-air, fleeing the squared circle on his feet and beating a retreat along with “The Preacher” on the ramp, while the fans in attendance cheer for Texas Hangman, even more pissed off at Sayeed Ali after what just happened. [56]

Jake Idol vs Jared Johnson

“Hollywood” and “Double J” make their entrance, and the announcing team confirms that Ricky Dale Johnson has agreed to add this match on tonight's card. In a bout that has superb wrestling and a decent reaction from the H-Town crowd, at some point The Most Wanted group show up on the ramp, creating uncertainty about what their intentions are: to attack Jake Idol for belittling Cactus Jack? Attack their rival Jared Johnson? Or both? David Stone with courage, and little clarity, confronts them at ringside despite his leg injury, procured by the very heelish brigade. “Double J” gets out of the ring to help his friend, and The Most Wanted decide to go backstage without starting a tussle. Returning inside the squared circle, however, Jared Johnson gets immediately punished by “Hollywood” Jake Idol who connects his Reality Check to win the bout in fourteen minutes. [66]

The boss Ricky Dale Johnson makes his huge announcement, stating that in line with Lone Star Wrestling's expansion policies, the next step is to takeover the South West territory! Motivated to show even the folks down there what it's like to see tough Southern' S.O.B. wrestle bloody brawls, unlike what happens too often in “minor outlaw mudshow hokey hardcore companies,” RDJ's promotion will host LSW Bloody South 2023 in just a couple of months! A show with some real legit wild west hardcore action! The announcement is interrupted by Quentin Queen, who, as LSW Brass Knuckles champion, nominates himself as the obvious face of the event, being the “hardcore” champion of Lone Star Wrestling, then reflecting on how unfortunate it is that there are no hometown talents down there in the South West up to the task. RDJ seizes the opportunity, saying that actually there is someone who could fit the bill for “Q-Man,” representing just the challenger he is looking for, a new wrestler who should be backstage after signing an exclusive written contract with the company: FRO SURE ARRIVED TO THE MID SOUTH! The West coast rapper shows up and is greeted by fans, with most already knowing him by reputation, dropping some freestlye bars on Quentin Queen ahead of their upcoming match that seems to have already been added to the LSW Bloody South card, live from California! The American Cobras (Malloy, Spillane) vs Nonstop Action (Chamberlain, Gray)

Finally healed from his torn quad injury, Storm Spillane returns to action to team up with his fellow partner Marvel Malloy. The storytelling of the match revolves around Storm Spillane not yet in peak condition, struggling against the speed and the never-ending stamina of Nonstop Action. However, after eleven minutes of good wrestling, The American Cobras gain momentum and hit their combined signature move to defeat their opponents. Maliek Chamberlain is the one getting pinned. [63]

After months of teasing, James Prudence and agent Laura Catherine Huggins, fully dressed in the middle of the ring, officially announce their partnership and the creation of Platinum Agency Group! The quote unquote “top agency in the business for young talented wrestlers who want to make their way in the pro wrestling world.” Promising great hookups, golden opportunities, luxury treatment in transportation, branding, and many other ancillary things, “Platinum” and Laura C. Huggins confirm that Davis Wayne Newton and Dreadnought are the first clients of the group. The future looks gold for this team, they say, or rather “Platinum”. [56]

taheijikonoe.png   zappowerson.png
Taheiji Konoe vs Zap Powerson
In a decent match, the brute Taheiji Konoe surprises young Zap Powerson with his ferocity, putting him in trouble for the first five minutes, managed at ringside by “The Sheriff” Duke Hazzard. However, the powerhouse babyface builds a nice comeback that ends with his Press Powerslam over “The Animal” after seven minutes of action: 1 ... 2 .. 3!! Another W for Zap Powerson. The color commentary helps the match being successful. [59]

After the match, Zap Powerson's celebration is interrupted by an unexpected arrival. “The Bronzed God” Zeus Maxmillion shows up in Lone Star Wrestling! A well known competitor in the business, the tanned star returns to the Mid South after a few sporadic appearances, cheering Zap Powerson's victory from the ramp seemingly impressed with the young rising star's potential, before returning backstage and leaving the announcers pondering the reason for this appearance. Perhaps Zeus Maxmillion signed a contract with LSW? Perhaps he wants to take Zap Powerson under his wing? [54]

The Dynamite Express (Jones, Collier) (c) vs Kip Keenan, Southern Stinger for the LSW Tag Team titles

In a bout that has superb wrestling and good heat, The Dynamite Express defend their championships against Tag Series' winners, Kip Keenan and Southern Stinger, in one of the best matches in Lone Star Wrestling's history. After sixteen minutes, “The American Eagle” and “The Stinger” are close to the W, but a distraction from The Most Wanted ruins everything! The Gonzalez and Maverick Martin distract the referee and Kip Keenan, with the latter getting blindsided by Cactus Jack, who whips him on the back with a Bullrope, knocking him off the apron. Legal man Southern Stinger sees it and tries to save his partner, getting close to the ropes and being hit in the face again by Jack Pryde with a Bullrope shot! A stunned “Stinger” ends up in the middle of the ring, and The Dynamite Express connect their signature combined move: Chop And Change! Cactus Jack has vanished behind the railings, The Most Wanted return backstage after distracting the referee, damn it! It's the perfect crime! And Syd Collier goes for the easy pinfall over Southern Stinger: 1 ... 2 .. 3!! The Dynamite Express defend their LSW Tag Team championships. [74]

During his entrance for his bout, challenger Cali Slick gets blindside by the champ Sean Deeley on the ramp! Trying to injure him, “The Shooter” fails in his plan as “The Draw” fights back, triggering a wild brawl at ringside that goes on for a couple of minutes before the official match begins, schorching up the Houston crowd. Once they enter the ring, the referee manages to separate the two just for a few moments, calling for the bell: DIN DIN DIN! Let the main event begin. [57]

Shooter Sean Deeley (c) vs Cali Slick for the LSW Texas Heavyweight title
In a bout that has superb wrestling and good heat, both competitors fight with extreme intensity, such is the hatred one has for the other. The Texas Heavyweght title is on the line, but the impression is that the main focus is to teach one's rival a painful lesson. After a couple of late kickouts, “The Shooter” and “The Draw” roll to ringside where they continue their wild brawl, a few steps away from agent Vinny Cruz and security guard Big Smash Clay. After eighteen minutes, in the final spot of the match, Cali Slick tries to drag Sean Deeley inside the ring to keep the match from ending with a rope break, but “The Shooter” anchors himself, sitting on the apron, and putting his opponent into a Front Choke! The rope break count comes to eight! ... Cali Slick tries to wriggle out, but Sean Deeley locked him in ... The rope break count comes in at nine! ... Cali Slick lifts Shooter Sean Deeley by weight, and with an incredible effort, he takes a slight momentum and plants him back first onto the steel stairs! ... And the rope break count comes to ten! DIN DIN DIN! The referee is forced to call for a double count out. Cali Slick failed to win the Texas Heavyweight championship, but he didn’t lose to Shooter Sean Deeley either. Will this be the last chapter in their rivalry? We don’t think so! [63]

Platinum Agency Group with Prudence, DWN and Dreadnought should easily overtake The Most Wanted as the most dominating heel faction, which will be interesting to see. The Empire are looking good, I like the way it is going for them. Really strong event overall, with very solid mid-card matches and a fantastic rating. Where does that 68 rating places in LSW history? Also I'm already hyped with the conquest of the South West. Good times for LSW!

DWN is definitely better than Jack Pryde atm when it comes to rising stars in LSW, and James Prudence still is a major draw if we talking POP, so yeah I can see that. Honestly, I don't have a very specific direction in mind yet for the Platinum Agency Group as The Most Wanted comes much easier to me to book, but they'll be alright I guess lol

Right at the top! It has been one of the 3 events with highest rating, all at 68. The other shows were the Finals of the Tag Series just a couple of weeks before, and LSW Thunderstrike 2022, to wit when Kip Keenan defeated Al Coleman in the best match in the promotion's history.

Total Wrestling News - Invading South West (#3)

The invasion of South West by Lone Star Wrestling, after some rumors in recent months, was made official at LSW Unchained 2023, where Ricky Dale Johnson announced that next June his promotion will present LSW Bloody South, a wild west hardcore-leaning event take will take place in California. After some strategies to weaken the competition and after signing several workers to exclusive contracts in the previous weeks, hostilities grew between LSW and both hardcore South West promotions, GSW and IPW, especially after RDJ called them “minor outlaw mudshow hokey hardcore companies”. The strongest response came from Brother Grimm, owner of Grimm SoCal Wrestling, who declared war on Lone Star Wrestling. Let the battle begin!
