Nobby_McDonald
@christmas_ape I've had to replace Emi Sakura in your women's tag team match with Julia Hart in your League match on Collision as Sakura is away working for Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling. @Wrestling Machine Juice Robinson is currently injured so Dustin Rhodes will have to compete in the trios match. Nobby_McDonald
PRE SHOW Action Andretti beat Dralistico in 7:30 by pinfall. 52 Collision Saturday, week 2, January 2024 Sam's Town Las Vegas, Sunrise Manor, Nevada (6,000) capacity) We start in the backstage corridors where two members of The Bryan Danielson Appreciation Society are standing with Blackpool Combat Club stablemates Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta. Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson say it's Saturday night, it's alright for fighting and we're ready for a fight. 62 v AEW LEAGUE The Spooky Club (Abadon & Julia Hart (TBS champion) v Team Swerve (Tenille Dashwood & Rosemary) The first action and first league match of the night sees two debuts as Tenille Dashwood and Rosemary become All Elite as members of Team Swerve. The two were both impressive in their debuts as Abadon struggled to keep up with the others. Rosemary beat Abadon in 10:37 by pinfall with a Red Wedding. 48 Tenille Dashwood debuted with an Old School Heel gimmick, rated awful. Rosemary debuted with a Demon Assassin gimmick, rated great. Following a commercial break we return backstage to see a brawl already going between Best Friends and Orange Cassidy. With Adam Cole's injury and Danhausen helping best friends sides are even and so is the brawl until Wardlow becomes the difference maker and lays out all of Best Friends himself. 53 v OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN'S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND 'The Machine' Brian Cage (with Prince Nana) v Evil Uno A sub par match and a sub par performance from Cage, although the crowd were still into and Cage still managed to progress to the second round. His win came in 9:04 by pinfall with a Weapon X. 46 Deonna Purrazzo is sitting down with Renee Paquette. Deonna tells Renee about her history with Timeless Toni Storm, talking how they rose through the indies together and even lived together. She then asks what has happened to the real Toni Storm, the Toni she knew... the Toni that was her friend... before showing and revealing one of a matching ankle tattoo and finishing by telling Toni to turn back to be the real Toni. 52 v AEW LEAGUE Team WooItsNathan (Diamanté) v The Golden Lion Club (Athena) Diamanté was off her game as Athena comfortably won a poor match in 8:35 by pinfall with a Top Rope Stunner. 49 Athena far outperformed Diamanté 58-37 Timeless Ensemble are backstage where they talk about their first league match on Dynamite. The Timeless one takes over and the screen goes black and white, as the Women's World champion say it is just a stumble, that out of adversity comes opportunity and it's chins up, chests and tits out and watch for the shoes. Her team mates look at Toni Storm like she's come from another planet, though they humour her and Ricky Starks finishes by saying next time they will get their first three points. 68 v Daniel Garcia v Mark Briscoe Two men who recently fought in the Continental Classic met in one on one action. The match was pretty decent and even despite Briscoe's eye injury though it was Garcia who won in 11:23 by submission with a Sharpshooter. 53 Prince Nana is backstage with The Mogul Embassy minus Swerve Strickland. Nana says The Machine was dominant against Evil Uno earlier and their focus is moving to Revolution where they want to take the World Trios Championship from The Acclaimed. 35 v AEW LEAGUE TV Network (Johnny TV (with Taya Valkyrie), Matt Cardona & Will Opsreay) v The Peak of Perfection ('Switchblade' Jay White, Killswitch (with Christian Cage) & Wardlow) More debuts as Cardona and Ospreay become All Elite with Ospreay getting a really good reaction from the fans. He looked good, but ultimately Wardlow proved to be the difference again as he made it two for two for The Peak of Perfection in 10:41 when he pinned Johnny TV with a Powerbomb Symphony. 55 Matt Cardona debuted with an Indy God gimmick, rated poor. An angry Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara are backstage. They are angry at Don Callis and his family for costing them the World Tag Team championship match against Ricky Starks and Big Bill and also, in Jericho's words, "because Don Callis is a dick". 65 v FTR v The Kings of The Black Throne (with Buddy Matthews & Julia Hart) A very good tag team match even though Malakai Black had an off night. FTR were close to winning a couple of times and were setting up for a Big Rig on Black only to be distracted by both Buddy Matthews and Julia Hart, which allowed Black to make a tag to Brody King who promptly nailed Cash Wheeler with a Dante's Inferno in 16:04 to score the pinfall. 65 Adam Cole is backstage in his wheelchair, being pushed by Wardlow. They are about to leave the arena when Cole turns to the camera, fake cries and mocks MJF for being at home... before advising him to stay there unless he wants to sign his own death warrant. 65 v AEW LEAGUE Black Lotus (Adam Copeland, Dustin Rhodes & Konosuke Takeshita (with Don Callis) v The Bryan Danielson Appreciation Society (Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston (Continental Classic champion) A good match and proved to be the best of the night. Dustin Rhodes proved to be the weak link in the match and he was there prone in the middle of the ring, beaten and primed to be finished off only for the feud between Bryan Danielson and Eddie Kingston to blow up in the ring. The two initially started arguing about who was going to put Rhodes away... then the two started to trade blows... this prompted Moxley to rush into the ring to seperate the two as Copeland and Takeshita were recovering on the arena floor... Moxley for once being peacemaker managed to settle Danielson and Kingston down... only for the bell to ring and 'The Dapper Yapper' Justin Roberts to announce the time limit had expired and the match was a draw. One point each for the teams and a fuming Moxley... who then let Danielson and Kingston fight some more. It seems like @PH71 has some work to do to get his male part of the team on the same page. 72 - match of the night Dustin Rhodes performed far worse than the others (50, next best Copeland 66). Nobby_McDonald
PRE SHOW Megan Bayne beat Yuki Sakazaki in 7:05 by submission. 51 DYNAMITE Wednesday, week 3, January 2004 Dutchess Stadium, Wappinger Falls, New York (4,494 capacity) Dynamite starts with Don Callis leading out his Family to loud boos from the near 4,000 crowd. He talks about Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara, saying they are no more than shit on his shoe and that is family is going to rip them apart so badly that Fozzy will no longer recognise Jericho and baby girl Guevara will no longer recognise her daddy. 45 v AEW LEAGUE Peak of Perfection ('Switchblade' White, Killswitch & Wardlow) v Team WooItsNathan (Kip Sabian, The Butcher & Nick Comoroto) Comoroto is making a guest appearance for Team WooItsNathan as they only have two active male members in their team. He probably wished he didn't. Killswitch and Wardlow dominated the match with only The Butcher putting up any kind of resistance. The end was equally emphatic as Jay White hit Sabian with a Switchblade, Wardlow hit a Power Bomb on The Butcher and Killswitch picking up the win in 4:49, pinning Comoroto with The Betrayal. 36 Backstage and the AEW World Trios champions The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass say they accept Prince Nana's challenge for Revolution and they say they will kick Mogul Embassy's ass and remain the World Trios champions. 55 v AEW LEAGUE TV Network (Trinity & Taya Valkyrie) v Team Swerve (Rosemary & Tenille Dashwood) Trinity's turn to make her debut and she was the most impressive performer in a sub par match, though the crowd were into it. In fact, Trinity carried the match. She led her team to victory in 10:29 when she pinned Rosemary with a Nightfalls. 55 Trinity was easily the best performer (64, next best Valkyrie 47) Trinity debuted with a The Glow gimmick, rated adequate. Trinity benefitted from a groundswell of public support. Tenille Dashwood is improving her gimmick. Backstage and Timeless Ensemble are together en masse. Toni Storm, being the Timeless star she is, speaks for the group as the screen goes black and white. She says they are missing the lights, they are missing the action and stars like the Timeless Ensemble are getting impatient, they aren't going to wait for ever. 66 v AEW LEAGUE Black Lotus ('Alpha' Konosuke Takeshita (with Don Callis)) v The Spooky Club (Danhausen) This match was comfortable for Takeshita as although Danhausen got up to his usual antics, Takeshita showed he was much better when the action got serious. Takeshita won in 6:38 by pinfall with a Touchdown. Decent match overall. 68 Takeshita outperformed Danhausen 72-53 Takeshita and Callis have good chemistry. Takeshita benefitted from being flavour of the month. Danhausen benefitted from public support. Backstage and Roderick Strong flanked by Undisputed Kingdom is facing the International champion Orange Cassidy who is flanked by Best Friends and Rocky Romero. Roderick Strong says he wants the International Championship. Orange Cassidy replies by saying "OK, tonight". Strong says no, he wants Cassidy at Revolution. Cassidy says "OK". 61 v AEW LEAGUE The Golden Lion Club (Lucha Brothers, with Alex Abrahantes) v The Bryan Danielson Appreciation Society (Bryan Danielson & Eddie Kingston) Two total contrasts. A brother tag team who are former AEW Tag Team and Trios champions versus two guys who absolutely hate each other. And despite their differences, and to everybody's surprise they actually put those differences to one side, focused on getting the job done and caused a lot of problems for their opponents. However... the end did not go well for Danielson and Kingston... as Kingston held Fénix in place for Danielson to hit a Busaiko Knee, Fénix ducked out of the way and Danielson nailed Kingston instead. Penta capitalised and threw Danielson out of the ring before the Lucha Brothers hit an Assisted Fear Factor, enabling Fénix to pin Kingston in 13:57. A great match, Was it an accident? It appeared so... though Kingston didn't think so and he and Danielson brawled to the back. 77 - match of the night Swerve Strickland appears on stage and introduces Adam Page's opponent tonight... Brian Cage. 54 v 'Hangman' Adam Page v 'The Machine' Brian Cage (with Prince Nana) A decent match and one where Page showed he has quickly got over his shock loss to Kyle Fletcher a couple of weeks ago. He beat Cage in 12:57 by pinfall with a Buckshot Lariat. 65 Page outperformed Cage 66-52 Page and Cage have good chemistry. It's time for Swerve Strickland's match against Adam Page's pick next. A short of breath Page gets a mic in the ring and he tells Swerve he though he was smart. Strickland did the predictable and sent out his muscle... Well Swerve, there's nothing to say you have to fight one opponent... Page says he made a call to some friends and he introduces the former Tag Team and Trios champions... The Young Bucks. 63 v Swerve Strickland v The Young Bucks Despite the obvious numbers advantage for the Bucks, this match was surprisingly even and was a great contest. Swerve fought hard, and showed why he is currently one of the top guys in AEW. However, the numbers advantage did eventually take it's toll and The Young Bucks won in 11:16 when Matt got the pin following a BTE Trigger. 76 Following a commercial break, 'Judas' by Fozzy hits, the crowd have a singalong and Chris Jericho walks to the ring. He is Samoa Joe's mystery opponent for the World Championship tonight! 45 v AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Samoa Joe (champion) v 'The Ocho' Chris Jericho A great crowd and a decent match in the World Championship main event. It was back and forth action and Jericho had just hit the Lionsault when everything changed... Don Callis led Powerhouse Hobbs and Konosuke Takeshita to the ring. Don Callis climbed up on the apron to distract Mike Posey which allowed Takeshita to slide in the ring and hit a Touchdown before Hobbs followed up with a World's Strongest Slam. The trio then all left and the match became a foregone conclusion in 14:31 when Joe hit a Muscle Buster to win by pinfall and make defence number 1 of the World Championship. 65 Joe outperformed Jericho 73-56 Joe and Jericho have great chemistry. Show rating: 67 AEW increased popularity in 14 regions. Attendance: 3,802 TV rating: 1.09 (823,669 viewers and 1,449,468 overall) QUICK RESULTS Samoa Joe beat Chris Jericho to retain the World Championship The Young Bucks beat Swerve Strickland Adam Page beat Brian Cage Lucha Brothers beat Bryan Danielson & Eddie Kingston (league match) Konosuke Takeshita beat Danhausen (league match) Trinity & Taya Valkyrie beat Rosemary & Tenille Dashwood (league match) Jay White, Killswitch & Wardlow beat Kip Sabian, The Butcher & Nick Comoroto (league match)
Nobby_McDonald
RAMPAGE Wednesday, week 3, January 2024 Broadcast on Friday, week 3, January 2024 Dutchess Stadium, Wappinger Falls, New York (4,494) capacity Taya Valkyrie starts Rampage and talks about Ruby Soho, who she meets in tonight’s main event. Taya says she will go Wera Loco on Ruby and advance to the next round of the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament. 42 OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN’S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND Dralistico v Ryan Nemeth In a terrible match, Dralistico beat Nemeth in 7:58 by pinfall with a Desnucadora. 30 Dralistico far outperformed Nemeth 49-26 The two didn’t click which made for an awkward bout. The crowd were turned off by having a match between two workers they don’t have any interest in. Renee Paquette is sitting down with Daniel Garcia. Paquette asks Garcia about the Continental Classic. Garcia says it was frustrating to start with but he found his feet against the top guys in AEW and chalked up the win late on. Paquette asks what next for Daniel Garcia? Garcia replies by saying he wants a shot at gold and he targets Christian Cage and the TNT Championship. 59 The Boys v The Butcher & The Blade Sub par wrestling and little crowd interest, though that was partially due to the opener doing little to get them interested. The Butcher pinned Brent in 8:43 with a Flaming Yawn. 54 – match of the night Ruby Soho responds to Taya Valkyrie’s comments earlier in the night. Soho says that now she is no longer an Outcast, she can refocus her energy on what really matters… wrestling and winning… and Taya is going to be the first loser tonight. 46 Matt Hardy v Wheeler Yuta Again a sub par match but with two more popular wrestlers at least the crowd got into it. Matt Hardy underperformed and this led to defeat in 10:44 when Yuta slapped on a Yuta Lock to make him submit. 46 Yuta outperformed Hardy 53-38 Rush is backstage. He is venting his anger at having great matches and winning for a short while, then vanishing from AEW for a while, blaming the company for not wanting him on shows. He says he is sick of it and things will change. Ortiz then walks by and he tells Rush he knows how it feels. He says he and Santana were one of the greatest teams in AEW but they never got opportunity at glory. Rush nods in recognition and suggests the two go elsewhere “to talk”. 41 V OWEN HART FOUNDATION WOMEN’S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND Ruby Soho v Taya Valkyrie A decent crowd but again the wrestling lacked in quality. Soho beat a lacklustre Valkyrie in 12:20 by pinfall with a Destination Unknown. 49 Show rating: 50 Attendance: 3,802 TV rating: 0.05 (38,971 viewers and 63,190 overall) QUICK RESULTS Ruby Soho beat Taya Valkyrie in Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament First Round Wheeler Yuta beat Matt Hardy The Butcher & The Blade beat The Boys Dralistico beat Ryan Nemeth in Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament First Round
