The Watcher's Journal - CornellVerse

Recommended Posts

This is a diary with a twist, in that it's completely passive. I will simply be watching the game world unfold, and will have absolutely no influence over it at all - my job is simply to watch and report on the happenings. Why? Simply because my interest is in how the game world will shape itself over the long-term, when it is entirely handled by the game's AI. It is both for my own amusement, and as a useful piece of research that can be used to improve the performance and accuracy of Total Extreme Wrestling. It will begin with unedited default data, the CornellVerse as of January 2007. I will only be noting down things that struck me as interesting, amusing, strange or just plain surprising. The first few months will probably be very familiar, as it takes time for a game world to truly establish its own personality. My hope is to keep the diary going for many (game) years, long enough to see Tommy Cornell Jr enter the game world, and to stick around to see what sort of career he has. Without further delay, let the journal commence...

sounds like it might be good fun, also it would make for a good reference when preparing the data for TEW08/09 (or whenever you decide a follow up game is neccasary) EDIT: Incidentally, the title for this diary does sound like a Buffy the vampire slayer spin-off!
And all across the forums, dynasty writers cry out "Just how do we compete with this"
I expect this dynasty will be more an informal collection of note's and oddity's rather than a steadfast daily updated affair, if it is to be a regularly updated diary than i guess us mere mortals are going to have to raise the bar by incorporating, video's, sound clips and more graphics in our diarys! I for one look forward to seeing the approach Adam take's, should be a good read!

January 2007 Week 1 - The 5SSW tag team titles become the first to change hands, as Kiko Sakakibara and Kit Hatoyama beat All Business. It's their first reign as champions. - The old timer Corporal Doom defeats Jim Force, winning the USPW National title. - A new wave of bookers fall into place; Marcos Flores with MPWF, Jamie Anderson with MOSC, Shawn Gonzales with CZCW, Burning EXILE with WEXXV, and Arson Wells with ROF. - Eisaku Hoshino gets signed up by BHOTWG. - Valient gets called up by the SWF, vacating the RIPW championship as a result. - NOTBPW sign up the talented duo of Frankie Perez and Jacob Jett, both to written deals. Both should fit in really well. - Queen Emily, former SWF colour commentator, returns to the promotion. Week 2 - TCW go on a signing spree - in come Shane Sneer, Jack Griffith and American Elemental. All are on exclusive deals. - Shooter Sean Deeley makes his usual move to NOTBPW, losing the CGC Canadian title to Eddie Chandler on the same night that he signs the contract. - BHOTWG sign up everybody's favourite ass-kicker, Samoan Machine. - Saeko Hiroyuki wins her first 5SSW All-Asian title, beating Yuma Maruya. - SWF poach Carl Batch from DAVE. - The first A grade match of the year happens, and it's in NOTBPW, where Jeremy Stone beats Duane Stone in the main event of their TV show. - BHOTWG sign up Hell Monkey; apparently they've taken a liking to really stiff workers. - Former best friends Owen Love and Art Reed have a falling out. - SWF sign young star Darryl Devine for their lower midcard - The NOTBPW Women's title changes hands, Emma Bitch beating Melody Cuthill - SWF put on the stinkiest pay-per-view for ages, failing to put on a single match that got over C+. It still draws a huge buy rate though. - Ricky Dale Johnson announces he wouldn't mind heading to Japan. He has a long-term TCW contract, but he's clearly looking to the future. - UCR rise to Cult status - NOTBPW get their second A grade match, and it's that man Jeremy Stone again, although this time he takes a loss to Sean McFly. Week 3 - TCW bring Blonde Bombshell back, whose apparently taken a liking to travel since her last run with them. - Koshiro Ino joins PGHW on a short term contract. - Corporal Doom is signed by TCW, despite being USPW National champion at the time. There's plenty of time for him to drop the belt though. - NOTBPW get their third A in three weeks, and it's Jeremy Stone yet again, this time beating his brother Dan. - DAVE sign ex-SWF manager Brains McGhee, apparently a direct replacement for Carl Batch who went the other way. - INSPIRE turn around a recent series of poor shows with a cracker, headlined by Kikkawa and Khoklov going to a double count out for a B-. Week 4 - Corporal Doom does the right thing, jobbing to Freddie Datsun to lose the USPW National title. - NYCW bring in Jungle Jack, which looks like a great piece of business. - Insane Machine beats UK Dragon in Japan, to win the WLW Tap Out title. - USPW sign Hell's Bouncer as a replacement for Doom. - Eddie Howard beats The Mean Machine in the finals to win the Rip Chord Invitational tournament in MAW, who rise to Small size on the back of a good card. - CGC sign Mainstream Hernandez...perhaps why he didn't win the Rip Chord Invitational for a second year running? - GCG find their midcard ranks temporarily decimated, as in the space of two days they lose Barry Griffin to African Sleeping Sickness, and Tayama to a kidney infection. - The European Leage of Professional Fighters open - Cameron Vessey enters wrestling, and is probably one of the most obvious "can't miss prospects" around. - Japanese veteran Junnosuke Fukazawa announces he is retiring next month. February 2007 Week 1 - Razor Valentine takes over ELPF. - A bunch of new TV shows are announced, including DAVE Shockwave, SWF Snap Shot, NOTBPW: The Edge, and SOTBPW Guerra. NOTBPW probably have the biggest reason to celebrate, they'll be on TCW home channel, GNN, which guarantees them big ratings and a way into the USA market. - DAVE, INSPIRE and USPW all celebrate new pay-per-view deals. - Henry Lee heads to USPW, which is a strange marriage. - The Great Hisato, former BHOTWG Junior champion, returns to the promotion as a touring wrestler. - The criminally under-rated Silver Shark beats The Incredible Koyama to win his first WLW Show Stealer title. - TCW Unexpected is a...well, unexpected addition to next season's TV line up, and it'll also be on GNN. - UK journeyman Derrick Merrick is given the job of head booker of ELPF. - Mario Heroic is signed by SWF to work for RIPW under a development deal. Mario is a guy who could be huge if booked right. Week 2 - Dark Angel is signed to tour with BHOTWG, which pretty much guarantees he'll spend the next three months absolutely knackered every few days. - GCG sign SUKI - could be a key signing in the future. - DAVE are continuing to rack up great card after great card, almost entirely due to their main event scene, which is centered around Brandon, Peak, Giedroyc and Tyler. - The Hinote Dojo rises to Small size. - Larry Wood is going to be touring with BHOTWG. Wood, Monkey and Machine could be the stiffest six man team of all time. Week 3 - The Specialists win their fifth CGC tag team titles, beating Youth Energy - Dean Daniels leaves WLW to go to SAISHO. He'd do well in PGHW. - TCW rise to International, despite a series of very average shows recently. Cornell and Tornado are almost entirely keeping the shows watchable, with Bubb, Texas Pete and Genghis Rahn stinking up the place. - SWF are not doing much better, and Runaway Train is having an absolute nightmare of a world title run, regularly coming close to D grade matches. - Awesome Thunder wins his seventh WLW Universal title, beating Bairei Yasujiro. On the same show, Koji Kojima wins the WLW Street Fighting title, beating Hell Monkey, perhaps as payback for signing with BHOTWG. - Jed High wins the UCR European title, but nobody seems to care. - There are high profiles returns to TCW for Madman Boone and Fumihiro Ota. Week 4 - Freddie Datsun and Alex Braun are both picked up by TCW. That's the second successive USPW National champion that TCW have stolen. - K'Lee Hawkins becomes ROF #1 Contender for the second time, beating an injured Billy Robinson. - USPW, whose shows have been abysmal recently, look to launch a decent new feud; the face team of Peter Valentine and the Lords Of War against the heels of Hell's Bouncer and the Demons Of Rage. - RIPW rise to small, despite not even having a champion. - "Mr.Popular" Giant Redwood pins Freddie Datsun to get the USPW National title, presumably as he's the only guy they know TCW aren't going to want. - Dean Daniels wins the SAISHO Destiny title on his debut, beating Torajiro Sekozawa. The belt was vacant after Strong Style Yoemon went to PGHW a few weeks ago. - GCG end their latest tour without having had a single title change hands. - DAVE, GCG and NOTBPW all lose their existing TV shows, although the two North American companies have new shows to look forward to anyway. - Bulldozer Brandon Smith enters wrestling - Wolf Hawkins beats Rocky Golden for his first TCW International title. Both men are rising up the card after recent performances, and are likely future main eventers. March 2007 Week 1 - NOTBPW's first episode of their new show is a good one, with a great A grade Sean McFly vs. Jeremy Stone bout. - SWF aren't doing quite as well as the Canadians, with yet another C+ show, with the Runaway Train vs Christian Faith main event series continuing to suck. - Eisaku Kunomasu wins the Elite series, beating shock finalist Lee Bennett. - The New Wave win the DAVE tag titles, which Alex Braun had vacated when he went to TCW. That's reign number four for them. - CZCW legend Fox Mask heads to RIPW on a development deal, robbing the promotion of one of their biggest draws. - Pro Wrestling SAISHO rise to Small size. - ELPF put on their debut show, and draw 65 people for a decent card. Mr. Evilness beats Mohamed El Yaaggoudi for the Universal title in the main event, and elsewhere Haiti Voodude beats Kalu Owusu for the Intercontinental title. - An episode of SWF's TV show is a good one for the Underwater Union - Lobster Warrior beats Rich Money for his third North American title, and Calamari Kid beats Zimmy Bumfhole for his second Shooting Star title. - SOTBPW Batalla En El Asilo is shockingly one of the best shows of the year so far, headlined by Champagne Lover vs Axxis for the title. - Hooded Kudo almost gets the Burning World Championship for a fourth time, drawing with Hiroaki Nakasawa in a B grade match, headlining a good overall card. - Antonio is said to have not been re-signed by MAW. - SOTBPW run a show in The Piper Casino in the South West, their second time outside of Mexico in two months; the show is good and draws 261 people (up 30 from their last visit). This is due to their TV coverage in that area. - PGHW give us the first A outside of NOTBPW, with Mushashibo beating Tatsuko to retain the title. Week 2 - Nevada Nucear grabs the RIPW championship, beating Mikey James. It had been vacant since Valient left in January. - Grandmaster Phunk, the current NYCW Empire champion, announces he isn't re-signing. It seems likely that TCW or SWF would want him. - Darryl Devine seems to be one to watch - although losing nearly every SWF match he's been in since his debut in late January, he's getting very over, very fast. - News breaks that former champion Enygma is being let go by SWF. He has only wrestled four times since the start of the year, has lost all but one, and has not got above a C+ match grade so far. He could be a good capture for TCW though. - 21CW rise to Cult size after a good show that featured Leo Price and Johnny Stones beating the Ivanoffs for the tag team titles. - Champagne Lover announces he's going on tour with WLW next month. - USPW, who have been putting on a string of absolute stinkers headlined by Bruce The Giant defending his title against Henry Lee, somehow seem still to be rising. - SWF Awesome Impact is their best show for ages, thanks to the talented Angry Gilmore dragging a show-stealing B grade match out of Runaway Train, who retains the title. - CZCW are up to Regional following a solid show. - PGHW Night of Pride is the best PPV of the year so far, headlined by a Bryan Vessey vs. Buddy Garner A grade match, and Mushashibo beating Inukai in a B+ contest. The show gets a B+ overall, and a very respectable 1.75 buy rate. - Hell Monkey, apparently deciding to take over the Japanese wrestling industry single-handedly, will be touring with GCG (on top of his BHOTWG and WLW work), as will PGHW's William Hayes. - USPW sign The Natural on a pay-per-appearance, perhaps hoping he'll provide some decent matches to counter their awful main events. - Dan and Jeremy Stone win the Ed Henson tag team tournament, beating Derek Frost and RK Hayes in the final. Frost is fast moving up the company's rankings, and looks like he could be a break-out player soon. - MPWF Noche De Leyendas is another shockingly good card from Mexico, getting a B-. Week 3 - Petey Barnes heads to 21CW, but isn't re-teamed with ex-partner Adam Matravers, who is busy main eventing as a heel. - Saionji Omura, former three time champion, looks set to leave WEXXV. He's headlined about 90% of their shows so far, and they don't really have anyone to replace him. - UK Dragon goes to 21CW. - Bulldozer Brandon Smith joins CZCW, which may be the first signs of Shawn Gonzalez's influence on the promotion as head booker. - Gareth Wayne beats Henry Lee for the WEXXV King Of Deathmatches title. - CZCW pick up Puerto Rican Power. That's another DAVE-esque signing by Gonzalez. - A huge blow for BHOTWG this week, as despite a good B rated show, they only get a 1.54 buy rate on pay-per-view, less than their main rivals PGHW got earlier on. Worryingly, that's for one of their big shows, Fire Dream Of The Immortals. - Joey Poison joins CZCW, showing that they aren't straying too far from their original style after all. - Scout beats Jack Giedroyc on DAVE's TV show to win the Brass Knuckles title, perhaps beginning a singles push. Jack has been in the main events of late, taking on Eddie Peak, and so maybe moving on to try and capture the world title. Jack is probably DAVE's MVP so far. - Lee Bennett continues his amazing singles run in PGHW, winning the Historical title off Bryan Holmes. Week 4 - TCW steal 47 year old Eric Tyler from DAVE. They certainly love grabbing workers off DAVE and USPW. - NOTBPW re-sign Sean McFly, their current champion, who has 4 A grade matches already this year and is probably directly fighting Jeremy Stone and Yoshimi Mushashibo for wrestler of the year at this point. - SWF are jobbing Enygma into the ground before he leaves, every main eventer seems to be getting a turn. Awesome. - Henry Lee finally beats Bruce The Giant, but it's a non-title match as it's on TV. He'd lost three in a row prior to that, and was becoming a bit of a jobber. - CZCW hire young Brendan Idol. - SOTBPW seem to have made the Campeon de Menor title a Japanese exclusive title - Reaper Cicero won it from Blood Raven earlier in the month, and now he loses it to El Diamante Azul after just one defence. - CZCW continue their reinvention, but go in a weird direction - Jim Force is a shock addition to their roster. - Steve Gumble wins the TCW All Action title from Chance Fortune. - DAVE apparently decide that Tank Bradley definitely need a good partner to replace Alex Braun, and so hook him up with Joey Minnesota to become The Powers That Be. Joey has been one of the DAVE's most consistent performers so far, continually hitting B- with a variety of opponents. - TCW's Just Another Day? event is a disappointing C+, with Texas Pete sinking Tommy Cornell to a C+, his worst match since...fighting Texas Pete at the last pay-per-view. Perhaps Texas Pete is really on a mission from SWF to sink the promotion. - A ruptured spleen puts Troy Tornado out for two months after a match with BLZ Bubb. That's an enormous blow for the promotion, as now they only really have Cornell as a main eventer who can work a good match. However, it may give two months for one of the midcarders to stake his claim for a big push before Tornado returns. - Nathan Black gets the first big injury so far, a spinal injury putting him out for over a year. He had been fighting as a lower midcarder for CGC, who incidentally have been putting on a series of C shows over the past three months. They seem completely stuck at that level, never getting more than it, never below it. - Alicia Strong enters wrestling.

In reference to the posts above, no, it won't be a daily affair. I'll only post when I have three months of data to share, and that'll really depend on how busy I am. This is more a research project than a diary, I just thought it might be a oddity that other people might like :)

Thanks so much for sharing your research with us. One thing that I have noticed in my games, and it is already a little evident in your "diary", is that it is alomost impossible for promotions to really lose popularity. Even USPW manages to remain level (at about 50) with its horrible shows and while the big two go down a little in the USA they still gain in that they improve their popularity in Canada. My fear is that after three of four year, SWF, TCW, NOTBW, and DAVE will all be international or global. I have trouble beliving that the industry can really sustain more than two international feds. I have two suggestions: The first is for promotion "popularity saturation" such that the total popularity of all feds in any given region cannot exceed 500. Once this level is reached, whenever a promotion gains popularity, the closest rival fed losses the same amount. This will also lead to the real dimension in which you can hurt your opponent simpy by being better. For example, let us say that WCW managed to get its act together so as to not totally stink the place up, even then, if they could not get anyone as over as the Rock or Austin, they would still have lost viewers. The second, which could be combined with the first, is to have promotion "momentum" just as one has worker momentum. Thus a string of "D" shows could lead to "E" shows after a while due to momentum. This was USPW could actually go into decline and it would be possible for the big two to suffer decline. On a similar note, it seems that none of the non-touring North Americain feds ever lose money. In some cases I am forced to suspect that there may be some kind of calculation bug. P.S. It also seems that NOTBW is destined to become the number one promotion in North America, and thus the number one promotion in the world.
- Hell Monkey, apparently deciding to take over the Japanese wrestling industry single-handedly, will be touring with GCG (on top of his BHOTWG and WLW work), as will PGHW's William Hayes.
When that news came up, I just know you had a story with me predicting that would happen months ago :)
- CZCW continue their reinvention, but go in a weird direction - Jim Force is a shock addition to their roster.
Shawn Gonzalez must be on something.... why didn't he bring in Carlos instead, to keep things in the family. Or even Cameron Vessey? Or, y'know, someone with a hint of skillz? Loving this so far, I almost want to do the same thing myself but I'd never be as good at writing it.

April 2007 Week 1 - Panic for NOTBPW, as Jeremy Stone picks up an injury during yet another A grade match with his sibling Dan. Fortunately it's minor, and he's only going to miss this month. The same thing is true for CGC's John Maverick, although it's a different injury. - The DeColt WrestleFestival (Day 2) is a banner day for the family; the top four matches are all singles, all involve one DeColt boy, and all end in victories for them. Three of the four wins are over members of the Elite stable. - Eric Tyler, possibly making his final DAVE appearance, takes a loss to his apparent heir, Jack Giedroyc. - Matt Sparrow, ex-DAVE employee, wins the CZCW Xtreme title, beating Insane Machine. The same show also sees four debuts for the promotion; Bulldozer Brandon Smith makes his pro debut, beating Remmy Skye, Brendan Idol loses to Snap Dragon, Jim Force is on the losing end of a tag team match alongside Plague, and Puerto Rican Power loses to Donne J, blowing his chance to win the CZCW championship on his first appearance. - Julian Watson makes his SAISHO debut, losing to Dean Daniels. Apparently he has left both GCG and INSPIRE to get a development deal with them, obviously thinking he has a future with PGHW down the line. - Champagne Lover makes his Japanese debut, wrestling for WLW as his alter ego, Antonio Maxi Marquez. He beats Beetle Kimura. - Over in TCW, Eric Tyler has instantly been slotted right into the main event, taking the injured Troy Tornado's place. Rick Law probably isn't happy, as he would have been next in line to get that spot. - Arthur T Turtle, who had only joined 21CW a few weeks ago, defeated Daniel Black Francis for the United Kingdom title. - The influence of the Turtle is quickly felt - one day after his title win, 21CW announce that they have signed a PPV deal. - SOTBPW continue to amaze - mainly thanks to their big three of Champagne Lover, Axxis, and Pablo Rodriguez, they are putting on great shows, getting good ratings, and are becoming more popular with each show. Right now, they're probably the fastest rising promotion in the world. - GCG put on the first show of their new "Free Fall" tour, and it's a beauty, headlined by an impressive Gakusha vs Pistol Pete match. GCG have a good roster right now, and if some of their youngsters can catch on, they'll soon be rising. - Obviously seeing his rise in NOTBPW, CGC come in and sign him to a pay-per-appearance contract. Right now, he's one of the hottest Canadian workers around who doesn't have Stone as a surname. - DAVE have put together another new team - the veteran duo of JD Morgan and Johnny Martin, both of whom have rejected moves elsewhere recently, are going to be teaming as Reckless Life. Week 2 - Apparently CGC realised that they've been sucking a big one recently, as they've taken drastic measures; Steve DeColt has turned heel. He beat his brother Jack on their TV show, and that was the trigger for them to get a B- overall, the first time they've got above a C+ so far. - TCW make two new signings. Star-in-the-making Jungle Jack comes in, meaning he'll have to cut his ties with MPWF, NYCW, and GCG. It could be a good move for Jack, who currently has the appaling record of 4 wins and 21 losses since January. The other signing is Hell's Bouncer, who has been working for DAVE and USPW. Perhaps they are going to groom him as BLZ Bubb's eventual successor, as the clumsy big guy who ruins main events? - VENOM regains the BHOTWG Openweight title, beating Nissho Yuasa. - The Japanese economy and industry are both in the toilet, but only 5SSW appear to be really struggling - their attendances are dropping steadily, and it's not helping that their shows are pretty poor (by their standards). - Enygma finally leaves SWF, losing (shock) on his way out to Runaway Train in perhaps his last ever SWF world title bout. - Fumihiro Ota, the man with eight TCW title reigns to his credit from his first run with the company, adds number nine, beating Steve Gumble for the All Action title. - Arthur T Turtle didn't last long as 21CW UK champion, he drops it to UK Dragon during a TV taping. - PGHW's Kozue Kawashima and 5SSW's Yuma Maruya split up. Kozue probably came off worse there. - MAW get something of a bargain - they bring in GCG's monster, Rhino Umaga. He's not very over in the States yet, but he's a terrific worker and should do well in Rip Chord's promotion. - SWF hold The World Is Watching. What the world would have seen is yet another card ruined by Runaway Train vs. Christian Faith in the main event. The best thing that could happen now is for an injury to hit one of them, so that Gilmore or Money could get some main event time. Although to be fair, Money has been moved up to main eventer to replace Enygma. - British Samurai becomes number one contender in ROF, beating K'Lee Hawkins. - It should be noted that WLW are having a fine time in Japan, completely ignoring the economy and industry problems and simply firing out great show after great show. - There's a double surprise on TCW TV show. Not only does Jack Griffith get to main event for the night, but he manages to get a C+ out of Texas Pete. - The PGHW Night Of Fortitude is an awesome event, headlined by their de facto main event, Mushashino vs Tatsuko, which once again gets an A. Kunomasu is strangely absent once again, and has rarely wrestled since his Elite series victory. - Ikina & Tayama beat Ferdinand and Coleman to win the GCG tag team titles, the first title change of the year in that promotion. - Apparently Captain USA and Warlord Agony are now enemies in USPW. The Captain probably has more power backstage, but Agony has the name value. - Speedy Marie wins her second UCR Women's title, beating Anna Ki. - Another big signing for MAW - the former TCW mainstay Paul Steadyfast. He's not good enough to make it in the big leagues, but he could be a vital player for a promotion of MAW's size. Paul is of course a former colleague of Rip Chord. - DAVE sign Remmy Skye. Perhaps they were impressed that he gave Bulldozer Brandon a debut victory. - Yoshimi Mushashibo takes his first loss, albeit a non title one, to Shuji Inukai. It's another A grade match for his collection, his seventh of 2007. Jeremy Stone also has seven, and Nobuatsu Tatsuko is one behind on six. It seems to be a three way race for wrestler of the year, with Sean McFly having fallen behind with a puny four A grade bouts to his name. - Edd Stone gets his fourth Unlimited Action title in NOTBPW, beating The Natural. - Washi Heat loses his PGHW International title, getting beaten by 22 year old Tetsunori Yasuda - SWF call up Nevada Nuclear from RIPW. He's currently their champion, and has one event to drop it before he moves on, to be held next week. Mario Heroic and Mikey James seem the most likely candidates to topple him. - Mick Muscles gets a surprise win over Eddie Chandler in CGC, winning the Canadian title. This is likely because Chandler has been the MVP of the promotion by quite some distance over the past three months, and has worked his way into a main event spot. He no longer needs the secondary belt. Week 3 - SWF decide to shake things up on their TV show. The Amazing Bumfholes regain the tag team titles from the Biggz Boyz, and Andre Jones beats Calamari Kid for the Shooting Star title. - One day later, and TCW apparently decide they'd better respond with a title change of their own - Wolf Hawkins loses his International title to Wrestling Machine #1. Wolf is now a full main eventer, and so no longer needed the secondary title. - Incidentally, TCW are now officially bigger than SWF, making them the premier promotion in the world. - The Incredible Koyama regains the WLW Show Stealer title from Silver Shark, starting his third reign. - As predicted, Mario Heroic is the man to step forward and beat Nevada Nuclear for his RIPW championship. Elsewhere on the card, Fox Mask makes his debut, beating Aristocrat. - Whistler picks up the vacant NYCW Empire title, his third, beating Rick Sanders. The belt had been vacant after Phunk left, which probably wasn't his best move seeing as how he is now stuck working the independent shows. - DAVE sign Citizen X to a pay-per-appearance contract, strengthening the links between the promotions even more. - Aaron Andrews looks impressive for TCW. After losing six out of his first seven matches for the company, he is now at the right end of a six match winning streak. OK, so it's mainly against Stink and Steve Gumble, but you have to start somewhere. - Dark Angel wins the prestigious BHOTWG junior title, beating Marihito Masuko. He's only on a touring contract, it'll be interesting to see if he keeps it until the end of the tour. Week 4 - Well, week 3 was certainly a bit dull, hopefully the month will end with a bit more excitement. - NYCW bring in the very talented Black Eagle and former TCW star Stevie Grayson. Looks like head booker Black Hat Bailey is looking to inject some pace into the company. It's a welcome change, as they have one of the weakest rosters of any company right now - of their ten top wrestlers, only two are under 35, and five are over forty. - Eisaku Kunomasu, who seems to have decided to only wrestle once in a blue moon, finally gets his long-awaited PGHW Glory Crown shot. It's a B+ match, but he fails to defeat Yoshimi Mushashibo. - Grace Harper, the former Helen Wheels, beats Emma Bitch to win the NOTBPW Women's title. - Seems SWF are slowly reshaping their roster. Following Enygma out of the company will be former four time tag team champion Bart Biggz, who has not had his contract renewed. He's took nine straight defeats to Calamari Kid trying to get the Shooting Star title, and that killed his momentum and took some of his popularity. It seems he has now paid the ultimate price. It'll be interesting to see if Brett follows him. - Power Trip WLW (Koji Kojima and Haru Kurofuji) become three time tag team champions, beating their regular opponents Koki Ishibashi and The Incredible Koyama. - CGC spring a surprise, signing 21CW's champion Joss Thompson on a verbal deal. - Saeko Hiroyuki loses the 5SSW All-Asian title to DEVIL Karube, after seventeen defences. - It's an absolute disaster for BHOTWG, as their world champion and figurehead Hiroaki Nakasawa is badly injured during his successful title defence against Eiji Hamacho, and is out for an entire year. With 17 wins and no losses this year, including 14 successful defences of his title, Nakasawa had been BHOTWG's MVP this year. What's worse is that it's a spinal injury, and it may permanently effect his in-ring abilities. The Burning World championship is immediately vacated, the first time the lineage has been broken since Master Kitozon retired the original version. - USPW sign MAW star Des Davids to a non-exlusive contract. That's a good move, as Davids has massive potential. - Davis Wayne Newton, future star I feel, joins the game world. - Fumihiko Uno announces his retirement. May 2007 Week 1 - BHOTWG certainly don't hang around. The first show of the month, and Yasuhiko Taira beats Eisaku Hoshino to win the vacant BHOTWG title with a B grade match. He's a good choice - he's young, has had a great year so far (he's averaging a B-, almost a B), and came close to beating Nakasawa on several occasions in the past. - Joshua Taylor and Roku Sotomura are now a regular team in PGHW, and have captured the International tag team titles off Ugaki and Muruyama - WLW are up to Cult size, which is a just reward for their awesome showing so far. - A big day in SWF comes to pass. Live on TV, both the big two titles change hands. Young star Randy Bumfhole gets the chance to run with the North American title, beating Lobster Warrior. That seems fair, given that it was Zimmy who got the earlier Shooting Star reign. The bigger news is that Christian Faith set a new record, winning his fifth SWF World title off Runaway Train. He was previously tied on four reigns with Sam Strong. Train actually suffered an injury in the match, but is only out for three days. - Elsewhere, Dark Eagle beat Awesome Thunder to claim his second WLW Universal title. - A few new TV shows are to debut; TCW Clash Of The Titans, the originally titled USPW Wrestling, and MPWF's Tiro Abajo. SOTBPW finally get some competition in Mexico. - CGC sign up Ernie Turner. - Eric Tyler is having a great time in TCW; five matches in, and he's undefeated. He's already beaten former champion Ricky Dale Johnson on his debut, and has followed that with wins over Liberty, Wolf Hawkins and Madman Boone. At this rate, Tyler will be the one to beat Cornell for the world title. - WLW grab the legendary Dick The Devastator as a road agent. - Hiroyasu Gakusha apparently also falls to the recent curse of the Japanese world champion, as he too gets injured. It's just a broken collar bone though, so it looks like he'll be back without needing to vacate the title (of which he currently has 18 title defences). - Puerto Rican Power's dominance of the USPW midcard (he was on a massive winning streak before a recent defeat to Giant Redwood in a National title match) has obviously sparked interest from higher up - SWF have swooped in to sign him up. His CZCW career lasted one match by the way, his loss to Donnie J. Week 2 - Back to business for NOTBPW. After a lean spell, Sean McFly and Jeremy Stone pull out another A grade match. - Wouldn't you know it? Later the same day, Yoshimi Mushashibo gets himself another A too, this time against Mito Miwa. - Eric Tyler's winning streak ends, courtesy of Ricky Dale Johnson getting his heat back. - Apparently SWF decided to cheer Brett Biggz up following his brother's release - he's the new Shooting Star champion, beating Andre Jones. To be exact, Bart is still on the roster at the moment, it's just that SWF haven't even bothered using him since telling him he's leaving. - Haru Kurofuji beats his tag team partner Koji Kojima to win the WLW Street Fighting title for the first time. - Good old USPW - after finding out Puerto Rican Power is leaving, they promptly job him out to Giant Redwood again. - Rolling Johnny Stones overcomes Rod "The God" Todd to win the 21CW World title, which was vacated when Leo Price headed to Canada. - Saeko Hiroyaki and Saori Nakadan win the 5SSW tag team titles for a second time, beating Kit Hotoyama and Kiko Sakakibara, who managed 13 title defences. - GCG are said to be letting Quick Kick Nakao leave. He's nothing more than an enhancement talent for them, but had some talent. - SWF hold The Master Of Puppets pay-per-view. It's headlined by a fresh match, Christian Faith defending the title against Joe Sexy, and also sees Bart Biggz get one last match, losing a North American title match to Randy Bumfhole. - CZCW apparently feel the same way as USPW - Puerto Rican power goes out with a defeat, staring at the lights for Donne J. Elsewhere, the extremely odd tag team of Jim Force and Matt Sparrow beat Snap Dragon and Flying Jimmy Foxx for the tag team titles. They're calling themselves The Heavy Smokers, which is about right. - BHOTWG just can't get a break; joining Nakasawa on the injury list is Hyosuke Kokan, who is out for eleve months with a torn rotator cuff. He was one half of the Junior tag team champions, and so that's a second title that gets a broken title lineage for the promotion. - On the back of their PPV, SWF reclaim their number one spot, rising to Global size. This means they'll be looking to bolster their roster, so every other company needs to be on red alert for talent raids. - Over to your Mr.Stone; Mushashibo vs Miwa Part II gets another A grade. - Yoshimi's joy is short-lived, as just two days after beating Miwa, he finally tastes defeat, losing his Glory Crown to Eisaku Kunomasu. That was 19 title defences, and he's really set the standard for the champions in every promotion now...something that Sean McFly apparently appreciates, as on the same night he gets another A grade match and another successful title defence, beating Jeremy Stone. - Elsewhere, former NOTBPW rookie Shingen Miyazaki gets his first major title, winning the GCG Openweight off Takayuki 2000. The match saw 2000 suffer a knee injury that'll put him on the shelf for the next month. Week 3 - Puerto Rican Power makes his SWF debut, losing to Eric Eisen. - Mushashibo loses his rematch with Kunomasu, but can cheer himself up with another A grade for his collection. - SWF's first signing is Mick Muscles. Hardly an earth shattering move. - Two Silvers - Shibanuma and Shark - win the vacant BHOTWG junior tag team belts. - Eric Tyler finally steps into the ring with Tommy Cornell for the TCW title, but gets beaten. There is a title change on the card though, as forgotten man American Elemental beats Fumihiro Ota for the All Action strap. - RIPW put on a good show, headlined by Fox Mask being unable to beat Mario Heroic for the title. - Two more signings for SWF. The first is a re-signing, as Jim Force returns to the promotion after a lengthy absence. He's a former two time North American champion remember, from way back. The other signing is Bruce The Giant's whipping boy of choice, Henry Lee. That therefore robs USPW of two of their roster at the same time. - In what could be the beginning of greatness, CZCW hire Davis Wayne Newton, who has yet to make his pro debut. - USPW put their troubles behind them to put on their best show so far (although that's not saying much), which is primarily down to a great undercard match between Des Davids and The Natural. - MAW hands out debuts to both Rhino Umaga and Paul Steadyfast, and both pick up victories. Steven Parker continues to shine, headlining the show with a victory over Mainstream Hernandez. - USPW make a very smart move; their replacement for "The King Of The D Grade Match" Henry Lee is Bulldozer Brandon Smith, a man who I think will be world champion of one of the big promotions within the next ten years. - Harry Allen gets the All Action title, his third, beating enhancement talent champion American Elemental in a good match. Elsewhere on the show, TCW's young star Aaron Andrews gets his first ever title shot, but loses to Wrestling Machine #1. - Ricky DeColt gets the pleasure of taking Mick Muscles CGC Canadian title from him, which was a given seeing as how he's off to SWF in a week's time. That's the highlight of yet another C grade show for the Canadian promotion, which is taking consistent mediocrity to stunning new heights. That was the start of Ricky's third reign by the way. Week 4 - Bart Biggz finally leaves SWF, having seemingly stayed on for about seven years since being told he was released. His final match saw him team up with Big Smack Scott to lose to the Almighty Dollar. USPW are looking for new talent, my money is on Bart winding up either there or DAVE. - The 5SSW title finally changes hands after fifteen title defences, with Thunder Hike winning it for the fifth time, beating Crusher Ichihara. - Honest Frank, who has been stuck in the NYCW midcard doing nothing for the past three months, heads to RIPW under a development contract. How much an experienced 37 year old can develop is another matter entirely. - Sigh. USPW decide the best way to debut the monsterous Bulldozer Brandon Smith is for him to lose to Cheetah Boy. - Troy Tornado returns to action for TCW, relegating Texas Pete to the Upper Midcard. - SWF follow their normal pattern of signings. Big? Check. USPW wrestler? Check. Loses to Bruce The Giant a lot? Check. Here's a contract, Mr. T-Tex. - Troy Tornado didn't take long to get back into the swing of things; he is in the main event of Total Mayhem, and defeats Tommy Cornell to win his first world title. - 5SSW, PGHW and WLW all end their current tours. June 2007 Week 1 - Kansuke Konda wins the BHOTWG Best Of The Super Juniors tournament, beating Elemental II in the final. - Emma Bitch wins her second NOTBPW Women's title, beating Grace Harper. - Ryu Kajahara finally loses the WEXXV title, and with Omura no longer with the company, it falls to the 50 year old Kimitada Ohishi to get his second reign. - Johnny Highspot is out of ROF, having not been offered a new contract. - WLW get themselves a PPV deal at long last. - BHOTWG's VENOM announces he'll be touring with PGHW. He's also currently working for INSPIRE. - Speaking of INSPIRE, there's been very little to report for a while. Marat Khoklov continues to dominate, and has made seventeen defences of the King Of Fighters title so far. - USPW sign American Machine, the NYCW midcarder. Basically he is a direct replacement for Jim Force. Week 2 - Tom E Hawk and American Machine win the USPW tag titles, which were vacated when Mick Muscles left. They're calling themselves Mass Slaughter. USPW also have a new addition to their roster, bringing in former NYCW star Grandmaster Phunk from the cold of the independent shows. - Nissho Yuasa gets the BHOTWG Openweight title back from VENOM. - Puerto Rican Power may be regretting his move to SWF; so far he's 0-4, and is falling down the pecking order at a staggering rate. - Chance Fortune gets something of an upset victory, taking the International title off Wrestling Machine #1. Machine (Human Arsenal) has put on such good performances he has ended up in the main event, and no longer needs a low level title around his waist. - Over in CGC, Lee Rivera and Alex DeColt have apparently become enemies. Good choice Lee, piss off the booker, that'll help your career. - Super Falcon and Wonder Boy, The Rescue Rangers, get their second run with the UCR tag team titles, beating Double Dutch. - NYCW have signed Matt Sparrow. - It finally happens, we have our first A* match of the year. No big surprises about who pulled it off, it's another meeting between Sean McFly and Jeremy Stone, with McFly defending his title once more. Week 3 - In a shock of epic proportions, Grandmaster Phunk marks his USPW debut by getting a C grade match out of Bruce The Giant. That's the first time this year, in 26 matches, that Bruce has got above a D+. He retained his title though. - Not a good day for attendances - ELPF's third event brings in 110 people (despite being a very good show), while WEXXV only manage 96. Presumably they won't be around too much longer, although there hasn't been any mention of financial trouble yet. - ELPF, even with 110 fans, still manage to rise to Small size. Across the world, SOTBPW make it to Cult, which is deserved as they've been one of the most consistent promotions this year. - Texas Pete somehow gets rewarded for his abysmal performances so far this year, as he takes the International title from Chance Fortune. So much for him being lucky. - Captain Hero becomes a three time UCR champion, beating Byron, who managed thirteen defences. - DAVE finally pull the trigger on their main storyline, with Big Cat Brandon finally unseating Eddie Peak to win the DAVE Unified title. - On the same night that DAVE crown a new champion, so do GCG, and the unlikely victor is Jimmy Cox, who beats Hiroyasu Gakusha. Gakusha managed an impressive 24 successful title defences. - USPW sign Joss Thompson. - This seems to be the week for world title changes - Steve DeColt beats Lee Rivera's best buddy Alex DeColt to win the CGC World title for a fourth time. Week 4 - Dark Angel loses the BHOTWG Junior title, falling to Golden Scorpion. That might be due to the fact that Angel only has another few days with the company before the tour ends, and they wanted the belt off him. - ELPF seem to want to become UCR - they have brought in Captain Hero, Doctor Insane and Simona Cox, all on the same day. Scheming Behemoth comes the day after. - Huey Cannonball is apparently done with MAW. - CZCW bring in Roger Dodger, the USPW and NYCW midcarder. - Bruce The Giant finally drops the USPW world title, to Demon Spite. - Elsewhere, Takayuki 2000 gets his GCG Openweight title back from Shingen Miyazaki - UCR have two title changes on one show; Anna Ki gets her Womens title back from Speedy Marie, and Bam Bam Johansson defeats Jed High to win the European title. - WEXXV look like they're finally done for; banks give them just three months to survive. - Puerto Rican Power changes to a Brawler style, perhaps to help him in SWF, where he has been a total flop so far. - GCG and BHOTWG finish their tours. - Ash Campbell, Nemesis' son, enters wrestling. - It's certainly been a good first six months of the year for the Bumfholes in SWF. As well as holding the tag team straps, Randy is now a fully fledged main eventer as well as North American champion, and Zimmy is an upper midcarder.
April 2007 The other signing is Hell's Bouncer, who has been working for DAVE and USPW. Perhaps they are going to groom him as BLZ Bubb's eventual successor, as the clumsy big guy who ruins main events? - USPW make a very smart move; their replacement for "The King Of The D Grade Match" Henry Lee is Bulldozer Brandon Smith - SWF follow their normal pattern of signings. Big? Check. USPW wrestler? Check. Loses to Bruce The Giant a lot? Check. Here's a contract, Mr. T-Tex. - Over in CGC, Lee Rivera and Alex DeColt have apparently become enemies. Good choice Lee, piss off the booker, that'll help your career. -
I have to say all these comments did make me laugh :p Adam - obviously you've played out this kind of game in testing lots of times - is there anything that has happened so far in this game that has surprised you, or are most of the happenings pretty much as expected ?

This is, really good. Although I want to read it... I don't as if you surpass my gameplay I don't want to ruin any surprises I might see. Just curious if there will be another SWF class of graduates, of maybe TCW? I know Aaron Andrews was part of the TCW class, but it'd be a nice surprise for sure.
Adam - obviously you've played out this kind of game in testing lots of times - is there anything that has happened so far in this game that has surprised you, or are most of the happenings pretty much as expected ?
There's been nothing too shocking yet, but to be honest, I wasn't expecting anything. Most of my test games last a year, so I've seen the first 12 months elapse multiple times - what'll be far more interesting is when we get into the second year and beyond, as the further you go, the more of a "butterfly effect" you'll get, and so the game world will be more unique. Personally I'm really looking forward to getting past the five year mark, as the rosters should be radically different by then, and some of the guys who I'm particularly interested in following (like Ash Campbell, Bulldozer, Davis Wayne Newton, etc, all of whom are building their legends from scratch) should be starting to rise to the top.

July 2007 Week 1 - Bulldozer Brandon Smith, just a few months into his career, gets his first world title shot. It's in the main event of CZCW's Battle On The Beach, but he comes up short in a four way battle against Donnie J, James Prudence and Plague. - Joe Sexy begins his second reign as SWF North American champion, beating Randy Bumfhole. On the same show, Runaway Train pins Christian Faith, but it's a non-title bout. - Over in TCW, Aaron Andrews is getting quite a few title shots against Texas Pete, and is managing to get C+ matches out of him each time. He's yet to get a victory over the former SWF man though. - USPW put on yet another lame show, where no match went above a D+. Warlord Pain becomes the new National champion, beating Giant Redwood, while his partner Agony falls short in his quest to beat Demon Spite for the World title. Bruce The Giant is way down the card, crushing Patrick Cool. - The Incredible Koyama drops the WLW Show Stealer title to the owner, Koji Kojima. Koji now only needs the Tap Out title to complete an incredible sweep of every title in the promotion. - Alicia Strong is announced as being part of the next 5SSW tour, to start next month. - Eric Tyler beats Troy Tornado on TCW's TV show, but it's a non-title match. - Former INSPIRE fighter Claudio Burdisso, who had been training with the Hinote Dojo since April, is called up by BHOTWG to join their main roster after some impressive performances. BHOTWG also tried to get former star Masaaki Okazaki back, but he snubbed them to remain with INSPIRE. - Marat Khoklov gets injured, but it's a very minor stomach infection, and he won't drop the INSPIRE title because of it. He's currently on 21 defences, and has 20 wins, 1 draw, and 0 losses in the promotion. - The touring duo of Toshinobu Taku and VENOM win the PGHW International tag team titles, which had been vacated at the start of the new tour when Roku Sotomura, Joshua Taylor's partner, didn't return to the promotion. - Just 65 people turn up to an independent show, which has former SWF worker Bart Biggz on it. Cameron Vessey, who astonishingly still hasn't been signed by anyone, is also on the card. Week 2 - SWF pull out all the stops on their "Snap Shot" TV show. Andre Jones beats Brett Biggz to reclaim the Shooting Star title, which might be a sign - Brett's contract is up for renewal as of yesterday. In the main event, their best for a while, Faith wins a four way over Runaway Train, Jack Bruce and Rich Money. - Well, looks like it was a fake out - a report comes in that Brett Biggz has just been re-signed. - USPW go shopping, and in comes Ernie Turner and young Davis Wayne Newton. DWN made his pro debut last month for CZCW, losing in a triangle match to Flying Jimmy Foxx, but hasn't wrestled since. - Strange times in SWF; Supreme TV, held just two days after Snap Shot, sees Brett Biggz win a rematch with Andre Jones to become Shooting Star champion for the second time. The main event is another four way dance, perhaps due to the success of the last, and sees Faith successfully defend once again, this time beating Train, Steve Frehley and Randy Bumfhole. - SWF hold The Supreme Challenge, and put on one of their worst big shows to date. The sole redeeming feature was a decent (but not great) match between Remo and Lobster Warrior, two guys who seem to have got lost in the shuffle recently. - ELPF draw a disasterously low 59 people to their latest show, which sees Toby Juan Kanobi win the Universal title from Mr. Evilness. The show gets a C- overall. - Washichi Inao joins GCG. He was touring with BHOTWH last month, but hasn't really done a great deal thus far. - Marat finally drops the King Of Fighters title, but it's a slight shock in that it's the unfashionable Billy Russell who beats him. Billy is a main eventer in the promotion, but he's never really been seen as being in the same league as Kikkawa, Hughes, etc. - Lee Bennett drops his PGHW Historical title, and it's to his old tag team foe Raymond Diaz. - Shuji Inukai announces that he wouldn't mind fighting in America. - TCW rise to Global size, leap-frogging SWF to regain the top spot. - TCW start their time as a global superpower well - Aaron Andrews and Wolf Hawkins, who have been teaming up a lot recently without ever becoming a full time team, beat The Machines to become the tag team champions. They become a regular tandem with the win, calling themselves The Lady Killers. It was a good match, and they make good young champions. The show is main evented by a good Cornell vs Datsun bout, making it one of their strongest all-round shows in a while. - Remmy Skye, whose DAVE run until this point had been pretty erratic, beats Scout to win the Brass Knuckles title. - It's clearly no picnic in INSPIRE; on the same show, both VENOM and Dark Eagle pick up injuries during matches, although neither is serious. Week 3 - A quick check reveals that Kozue Kawashima is having a great run at the moment - his PGHW record reads 17 wins and only 1 loss, and that was Nobuatsu Tatsuko. - Insane Machine loses the WLW Tap Out title, to Mitsunari Fugunaga, who is touring with them. - Stevie Stoat returns to ROF. - Christian Faith's SWF title reign lasts just two months, as he falls to Steve Frehley. That's Steve's second world title victory. - TCW respond in less dramatic fashion, with Steve Gumble beating his partner Harry Allen to become a two-time All Action champion. - TCW sign The Natural. He's a good worker, but has been very inconsistent so far this year, although he is still co-holder of the NOTBPW tag team titles with Owen Love at this point. He should do well in TCW. - Igor Ivanoff becomes a surprise 21CW UK champion, beating UK Dragon. - Harry Allen regains his All Action title from Steve Gumble, his fourth reign. On the same show, Aaron Andrews gets a big win over Texas Pete, although it isn't for the title. He's now up to Upper Midcarder, and at just 21 is in position to become one of the youngest world champions in history. - Remmy Skye's inconsistency rears its head again; he loses the DAVE Brass Knuckles title already, to Dean McWade of all people, in a three way dance that also had Travis Century in it. - In PGHW, VENOM, already an International tag team title holder, picks up the International singles title too. He beats Tetsunori Yasuda, who managed sixteen title defences. Week 4 - 24 year old Bulldozer Brandon Smith gets the biggest win of his short career so far, defeating the legendary Warlord Agony. Smith is gaining popularity at a staggering rate, and is already main eventing for CZCW and in the upper midcard for USPW. Of the wrestlers who have appeared since the game began, he is doing the best by a long way. - Sayeed Ali wins the 4C Hardcore title of Brett Fraser. - Eric Tyler gets a win over Tommy Cornell on TCW's weekly TV show. - Looks like TCW head booker Joel Bryant has been reading - he signs Bulldozer Brandon Smith to the promotion on a written contract. Hopefully the loss of Smith will spur USPW into action with Davis Wayne Newton, who is being used as a jobber at the moment, when he should be being pushed as hard as Smith was. - There's light at the end of the tunnel for WEXXV as the month draws to a close - they draw a big crowd of 300, put on their best show in ages, and rise to Regional size. They're still about $75,000 in debt though, and will need two awesome months of business to survive. Fortunately they are on tour for both months, and so at least have a fighting chance. - TCW re-sign Tank Bradley. His team with Joey Minnesota went nowhere, losing three straight matches and then apparently disbanding, so he's currently working solo. - USPW sign Sgt. Bubba Lee West. - TCW Summer Showdown is a good event, headlined by young Wolf Hawkins coming up short in his attempt to defeat Troy Tornado. - Gargantuan enters wrestling. If he doesn't end up in SWF or USPW within the next five years, I'd be amazed. August 2007 Week 1 - Remmy Skye and Matt Sparrow team up to win the CZCW tag team titles, beating Snap Dragon and Insane Machine. They'd been vacant since Jim Force went to SWF. - Torajiro Sekozawa beats Dean Daniels to get the SAISHO Destiny title. - Over in the Hinote Dojo, former champion Heihachiro Sakai gets called up to the BHOTWG roster. - That man The Incredible Koyama is back with the WLW Show Stealer title, for the fourth time, beating Koji Kojima. - MAW put together yet another big signing; Hell Monkey returns to the US for the first time since his USPW run. He'll be working for them when not busy with BHOTWG and WLW. - Champagne Lover is back off to Japan, this time with BHOTWG on tour. That means he'll be switching ring names again. - Shane Hannigans wins the MOSC Blood & Beer title off Jeffrey McPeterson. - Larry Wood, who was touring with BHOTWG last time, is now off to do the same for GCG. Him against Pistol Pete Hall would be quite the old-school battle. - Another American Independent show, another Bart Biggz match. It's something of a surprise that nobody has picked him up yet, he has name value. Week 2 - Looks like CZCW may be looking for a new booker in the near future; Shawn Gonzalez isn't happy with their contract offer and has said he's off. A lot of his big signings (Puerto Rican Power, Jim Force, and Bulldozer Smith) were stolen soon after, so he's been struggling with that. In what could be his last signing, he has just brought in Des Davids. - Jack Griffith wins the TCW International title, beating Texas Pete. Jack has been doing some decent midcard work recently, and is a solid team player. - There's a huge blow for GCG, as their champion Jimmy Cox has said that he's leaving to work for a bigger promotion, which has been announced as being BHOTWG. Unfortunately for them, they are not currently touring and so don't have time to have him lose the title to anyone. This will be the first time in 17 years that the title's lineage will be broken. - MAW put on a very strong show, which is topped with Paul Steadfast beating Steven Parker for the Mid Atlantic Championship. Elsewhere on the card, Hell Monkey debuts with a win over Stan Manna. - It seems CZCW won't be the only ones looking for a new head booker; Marcos Flores is off out of MPWF. - Jacob Jett and Katie Cameron are now engaged to be married. - WEXXV now seem doomed; their attendances are back down to under 150. - Alicia Strong wins her first professional title, beating DEVIL Karube for the 5SSW All-Asian title. I think that's the first of the newly added wrestlers who have tasted gold. - Steve DeColt apparently fancies going to Japan. It won't happen unless CGC goes bankrupt of course, as he's under a lifetime contract. - Apparently inspired by DeColt, Skull DeBones has also said he would like to go East eventually. - Edd Stone and Tim Westybrook win the vacant NOTBPW tag team titles. - Marat Khoklov turns down a contract extension offer from INSPIRE, and instantly becomes the biggest free agent in the world. BHOTWG are the likeliest destination, but a shock bid from the US isn't out of the question either. - John Maverick gets the CGC Canadian title, beating Ricky DeColt. That's his third time with the belt. - An odd signing from Shawn Gonzalez; he's brought 49 year old Captain USA into CZCW. Week 3 - Jacob Jett celebrates his recent engagement by beating Edd Stone for the NOTBPW Unlimited Action title. - The Natural wins his first title in TCW, beating Harry Allen for the All Action belt. - Awesome Thunder becomes an eight-time WLW Universal champion, beating Dark Eagle. - Over in WEXXV, Toyokuni Hardcore wins the King Of Deathmatches title from Gareth Wayne. There's a strong possibility he may be the final champion given the way the company is going. - Seek & Destory win the 5SSW tag team titles for the second time, defeating the Bomb Squad. Week 4 - Last week was very dull; lots of shows happened, there were a few title changes, but very little else. Let's hope the month ends a little stronger. - Well, it begins promisingly, with the patented SWF Double Title Switch. Groucho Bling flies solo with a North American title win over Joe Sexy, and Akima Brave of the Samoan Wildboyz defeats Brett Biggz for the Shooting Star championship. - Dark Angel beats Jacob Jett for the Unlimited Action title, just one week after he won it. - CGC have decided not to renew the contract of Joey Poison. It's not much of a shock, he had done nothing of note since joining. - Seek & Destroy don't hold onto the 5SSW tag titles very long, they lose them to June Butler and Tomoko Nagatsuka. - We're heading into the weekend, and it's been a while since anything interesting happened. It's almost as if everybody is waiting to see where Marat will go before continuing. - Moving to TCW seems to have been a bad move for Bulldozer Brandon Smith; he's still yet to actually get a match, and is being classified as an enhancement talent. - The Land That Excitement Forgot (AKA CGC) gets a title change, as Elite's John Maverick and Eddie Chandler beat The Specialists. Maverick now holds two CGC titles at once. - Casey Valentine enters wrestling, and you'd imagine USPW would want him in soon. - PGHW's tour is over. - WEXXV get another bank warning. Looks like they have 28 days left to exist before the plug is pulled. It's a sad state of affairs that they don't even have anyone worth raiding for, other than Burning EXILE, with Gareth Wayne the only person who has actually gotten more over as a result of being there. - Interestingly, Dark Angel's NOTBPW contract is up for renewal. Given that he has spent much of the past year in Japan, and BHOTWG and GCG definitely want him, he might end up going there full time instead. - In what could be a very important note, SWF are actually losing popularity in the USA quite alarmingly. They have gone from a solid B in every region to a C+. TCW on the other hand are just below a B all across the country. At this rate, SWF will suffer the embarassment of dropping back to National level. Over in Japan, PGHW are by far and away the #1 promotion, BHOTWG are not even close anymore. Fortunately for BHOTWG, there isn't a strong #3 promotion to challenge them, otherwise they'd be in a really bad position. September 2007 Week 1 - Demon Spite's run as USPW champion comes to an end, via Sam Strong's buddy Peter Valentine. Doesn't look like their main event quality is set to improve any. - Former 21CW champion Pit Bull Brown goes one lower, taking the UK championship off Igor Ivanoff. - Kinnojo Horri finally fulfils his potential, winning the BHOTWG championship off Yasuhiko Taira, who had twelve defences to his name. On the same show, the Junior title changes hands, with Elemental II becoming a six-time champion at the expense of Golden Scorpion. - Karma seems to have taken a bite out of Jimmy Cox; he only managed two BHOTWG matches following his jump from GCG, and already he's laid out for a month with a back injury. It's something of a shame, as he made a very good debut, beating the legend Hooded Kudo. - WEXXV fall deeper and deeper into trouble, with an analogy about rats and sinking ships being very apt. Their champion, Kimitada Ohishi has rejected a contract offer and is leaving. Their top road agent, Motoichi Arakida, is also going. On top of that, Burning EXILE's contract has expired, and so they lose both their best worker and their head booker. Whoever takes over from him has about three weeks to make $100,000 or the promotion is dead. I hope whoever gets it likes a challenge. - Shawn Gonzales and Marcos Flores leave their head booking jobs on the same day as EXILE, leaving three positions open at once. - MPWF are apparently also losing both El Bandito and Ultimo Phoenix, two of their star main eventers. With Flores also going, that's their main event scene basically destroyed. - Pistol Pete Hall wins the vacant GCG title, beating Toshiharu Hyobanshi in the main event of an exceptionally good show. - The craziness continues; now it's Champagne Lover's turn to get seduced by the bright lights of fame, he's ditching SOTBPW, where he is world champion and their best worker, to try and get more money elsewhere. - To complete the triangle, the other lucha promotion, OLLIE, are also losing a main eventer. El Leon is on his way. - GCG rise to Cult status, and suddenly BHOTWG are looking over their shoulder. - Haiti Voodude loses the ELPF Intercontinental title to Beast Bantom, the UCR wrestler. - The Canadian David Wayne Newton, who has been completely wasted in USPW and CZCW so far, gets a written deal with NOTBPW. He may do better in a promotion that values work rate. - Talking of Canada, Mainstream Hernandez is becoming a huge star across the border in his homeland. Starting with F- Canadian popularity, his work with CGC has got him all the way to C- in record time. He's currently an upper midcarder, and is regularly coming close to the Canadian title. - Dark Angel signs a contract extension with NOTBPW after all, and it's written, meaning he will soon be stopping his activities in Japan (where he is currently putting on fabulous matches for both GCG and BHOTWG). - WEXXV go for the predictable move; they replace Burning EXILE with his former partner The Great Hisato, who will be their new head booker. For about 21 days. Week 2 - Wow, it'll be a hard task for the next seven days to be as exciting as the previous week. - Hinote Dojo hold an event called Rememberance Of Valiant. OK, so he's only had four matches in five months for SWF, and has lost all of them, but someone needs to tell them that the guy isn't dead. Just his career. - SOTBPW's road agent Luis Montero becomes the new head booker of MPWF. He was a former seven time champion of the promotion when he was an active competitor. - Leo Davis becomes the head booker of CZCW, which is a big disappointment when there were so many other big names who could have been brought in. - Former champion Mr. Evilness is on his way out of ELPF. - Jumbo Shrimp and Lobster Warrior, the only combination of the Underwater Union not to have held the SWF tag team titles, but that record to bed, beating The Amazing Bumfholes. - Grandmaster Phunk gets his biggest win to date, beating Bruce The Giant in USPW. - GCG have stuck Larry Wood and Rhino Umaga together as a team, and they are beating everyone thrown at them. They look likely to be the next tag team champions. - The Great Hisato's first WEXXV show in charge sees Ryu Kajahara win his third title, beating Kimitada Ohishi. Ryu probably isn't best pleased that Hisato decided to work for BHOTWG that night instead (losing in his quest to beat Elemental II for the Junior title), but you can understand Hisato prioritising his BHOTWG work over a soon-to-be-dead federation. - Steve Gumble becomes a three time All Action champion in TCW, beating The Natural. - Ikina & Tayama manage to stop Wood and Umaga in GCG, successfully defending their titles against the big foreign workers. - TCW's Steve Gumble stakes his claim to the title of King Of The Short Reign, as he loses his All Action title straight away, to Freddy Huggins. That's Freddy's third reign too. - Tamara McFly begins her second reign as NOTBPW Women's champion, beating Emma Bitch. - Gareth Wayne, WEXXV's sole bright spot, gets rewarded for his efforts. He'll be touring with INSPIRE next month. - Burning EXILE has turned up in PGHW, courtesy of a short term contract. The countdown for how long it takes him to irritate Tatsuko and Jimbo to the extent that he gets thrown out begins....now. Week 3 - Kazume Narato, ex-TCW worker, and Kenko Takemitsu are put together by BHOTWG as a regular team, called The Breakers. They start off well, beating Silver Shark and Silver Shibanuma for the Junior tag titles. - Texas Pete gets his International title back off the far more talented Jack Griffith. Joel Bryant seems to have a weird affection for Pete. - A double-take moment; Ash Campbell gets signed, but not by DAVE. It's USPW who swoop in and grab him. He is yet to make his pro debut, having apparently shunned the independent scene. - MAW continue to sell out the Stanley Hall, and continue to put on good solid shows. Rip may be being a little tentative though, he could probably go for a bigger venue at this point. - Yoshii Shiomi beats Nissho Yuasa to win the BHOTWG Openweight title. - Champagne Lover's nine month reign as SOTBPW champion is over, and it's Pablo Rodriguez who beats him. They've been having a series of great matches together. - Ruud Van Anger gets the UCR European title, defeating Bam Bam Johansson. - TCW re-sign Troy Tornado, which is unsurprising given that he holds their world title at the moment. - In something of a shock decision, Koki Ishibashi is on his way out of WLW. Not only he is a major star for them, a former two time world champion, and one half of their best tag team, but he is also best friends with the owner Koji Kojima, and brother of their best wrestler. He's also rejected several offers from other companies before, so it's a big surprise that they've chosen to let him go. Week 4 - It's certainly been an interesting September, and there's still seven days left. - June Butler beats Alicia Strong for the 5SSW All-Asian title. Strong's winning streak while holding the belt has took her right the way into the main event. - Bart Biggz finally gets picked up, and it's DAVE who take the plunge. - WEXXV hold what is likely their very last show, and it's a D+ overall. They get 824 people though, which is one of their best ever. - Incidentally, you may have noticed that AAA haven't been mentioned much. That's because after nine months of game time, they are making CGC look positively dynamic in comparison - they haven't had a single title change, haven't made any big signings, and haven't fired anyone important. - Larry Wood and Rhino Umaga finally get the GCG tag titles on their third shot, beating Ikina & Tayama. - Gesshin Nishihara, who rejoined WLW a few months ago, is gone again after not being offered a new contract. - Miss Information wins the UCR Female title off Anna Ki. - Saionji Omura announces that he will be retiring next month. He hasn't been hired by anyone since leaving WEXXV a while ago. - WEXXV and 5SSW end their tours. WEXXV are basically a dead promotion now, as they will be declared bankrupt at the end of next month, and are inactive until then. - King Kong Kennedy enters wrestling. - Gargantuan gets signed by CGC, having worked the Canadian independent shows for the past two months. - The news ticker reports that several people have left promotions recently, all in quite low key fashion. Former Universal champion Dark Eagle has now left WLW due to contract expiry, and so is now only working for INSPIRE. Alysian Scottsfield, the veteran, is no longer working for NOTBPW either. Grace Harper is gone from AAA, VENOM has disappeared from the INSPIRE roster, and Dallas McWade signed an exclusive deal with NOTBPW and so is no longer working for DAVE. His brother Dean remains with DAVE, where he is still the Brass Knuckles champion. - Japan is finally coming out of its slump. In contrast, America is about to hit a really low point.

Shame about WEXXV. Also shame about CZCW not getting a decent booker. You'd think they'd look for someone who likes to book high-flying. If course, you're now forcing me to play much, much more so I can see who enters the industry in my own game instead of reading about it here...
That sounds like AAA in my current game. In 2.5 years they haven't signed a single wrestler, although there have been a few title changes. And with 5SSW and UCR closed for more than a year there are plenty of lady wrestlers looking for work anywhere they can get it.
