Rick Rude v Rick McGraw v Jim Brunzell v Angelo Mosca Jr

What can I say, it was the opening match. McGraw is eliminated first. Then Mosca Jr. Brunzell and Rude tried to salvage the match. Rude hits the Rude Awakening for the pin fall at 7:47. Brunzell looked good out there. Rude was visibly tiring (sooner or later I'm going to get his stamina up.) D+

Pretty good match. Very open. Both competitors went all out. In the end the masked man hit Thornton with the DDT and covered for the pin to win the Title at 6:51.

Camera in the back picks up a conversation between Huston Hartsell and Sam Muchnick.

HH "Jody still here?"

Sam "I think so."

HH "Tell him I need to see him."

Interview with Harley Race.

"Little Brisco, you have bitten off more than you can chew tonight. For you will step into the ring with 'The King.' I will show you why I have earned this moniker. I will punish you for venturing into my domain for you are not worthy."

Interview with Wahoo McDaniel.

"Zybszko, man all I hear is you out here whining about how you aren't getting chances for this or that. Well tonight, you get the chance to have your a** kicked by me."

Interview with Zybszko.

"Kick my a**? You? Bring it on Injun."

Larry Zybszko v Wahoo McDaniel US Hwt Champ

Great match that lifted the crowd. Wahoo wore out Zybszko's chest with some serious chops. He finally got the upper hand and locked on the Indian Deathlock for the submission at 11:10. Larry was slowed somewhat by his injury. B+

Interview with Greg Valentine.

"Well, well, well, the great Hulk Hogan. Lucky me. Listen tonight, you get to feel the 'Hammer.' Hogan I'm going to show just what it takes to make it here in the NWA. "

Interview with Hulk Hogan.

"Valentine you are going to show me what it takes to make it? Brother, I fight all over the world. You ain't got nothing to show me Brother."

Hulk Hogan v Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine

Great match that lifted the crowd. Hogan and Valentine wailed on each other. Valentine got the advantage, dropped the Hammer and pinned Hogan at 7:39. The lack of psychology hurt the match. A

_________________________________________________________________

Interview with Ivan Koloff.

"Bockwinkel, you are another poor excuse for an American champion. In Russia, you would not be given the chance to even fight a great champion like myself. "

Interview with Nick Bockwinkel.

"Poor excuse? Mr. Koloff, I really don't think you know who it is that you are talking to. Mr. Koloff, I am the epitome of a champion. I exude excellence. My technical expertise is unmatched. You would be ol so lucky to have as distinguished a career such as mine."

Ric Flair NWA World Hwt Champ v The Spoiler

Another great match that lifted the crowd. The Spoiler controlled the early part of the match by using his size and strength advantage. Flair catches The Spoiler in a small package to score the pin fall at 9:45. These two didn't click at all. The Spoiler is improving in performance skills. A

The knock on the door that Huston had been expecting came. He rose and opened it. There stood Roddy Piper.

RP "Hey chief, you wanted to see me?"

HH "Yes Roddy come in and have a seat."

As Roddy entered as if last night hadn't happened it rose Huston's temperature a few more degrees. Huston slammed the door.

RP "Man what's up? You mad or something?"

HH "You don't think I have a reason to be?"

RP "What did you eat something for breakfast that didn't agree with you chief, hehe."

HH "Roddy, quit the bulls***! Where were you last night?"

RP "What do you mean? I was in Montreal."

HH "Yeah I know, think there might have been somewhere else you should have been like the Columbia?"

RP "You got your panties in a wad 'cause I worked the MLW show last night?"

HH "You're going to sit there like nothings wrong with no showing a event that you are scheduled to work?"

RP "Whoa there Chief. I called and talked on Wednesday and told Jim that I had been offered a whole wad of cash to work last night. He said no problem."

HH "Hold on. Where did you call and when?"

RP "Wednesday morning and here to the office. Couldn't get you in your office so I dialed Jim's. Why?"

HH "Roddy, I was in NYC on Wednesday for the MACW taping. And as for Jim. He left for Bermuda after Caged Heat on Sunday. He'll be there for another week. "

RP "So who did I talk to?"

HH "I don't know, you tell me?"

RP "Oh s***, No wonder you look like you want to kick my a**. Man Chief. I don't know what to say. I thought maybe Jim had a cold or something."

HH "You say they offered you a whole wad of cash. What do you mean?"

RP "I mean Jack called me and told me that he'd give me $15000 to fight Thursday night. I said damn, that's 10X what I make here an appearance. I figured I'd do it if you guys didn't have a problem with it."

HH "Jack, you mean Frank?"

RP "No, I mean Jack. Frank used to call me, but about 2-3 weeks ago Jack started handling my bookings. "

HH "Have they promised you anything else?"

RP "Yeah, actually they have pushed pretty hard for me to be fulltime. What's going on Chief? "

HH "Roddy are you happy with your roster position?"

Rp "Yeah Chief, I'd like Flair's gold but I understand all that. Why?"

HH "Roddy I've got big plans for you here. I know we have a very crowded roster right now. But I think that we've done a good job shinning the spotlight on your feud with Dusty. You see, there's someone on the inside here that I honestly believe is being paid by Vince to screw things up."

RP "I thought something might be going on. I've been hearing some rumblings. "

HH "Care to elaborate?"

RP "Do I have to get in the middle of it?"

HH "That's up to you."

RP "What will I get out of it?"

HH "Let's talk."

The meeting continued for another hour. After being assured of his place for him, Roddy gave him the low down on what he had been hearing backstage and from whom. They came to an agreement and Roddy agreed to keep his ears open and inform him of what was up.

HH "Roddy, I'm going to give you a number. And when you get back home or to your hotel I want you to call and ask for David. And see if that is who you talked to on Wednesday. Then I want you to call me back and tell me."

RP "Alright chief."

outlaw, the way you take some of the games' nuances and turn them into backstories to drive your plot further and further is ultra impressive. I think the premise for your diary, getting in first ahead of the WWF is great.

There's a number of absolutely fantastic reads out there, this is definitely one of them. I don't post as often as I'd like, but I definitely do like reading through it. Keep up the outstanding work.

Yeah I got a laugh out of it. Especially when you considered that Tristram's and keefmon's also took a hit on the smiley's, I mean stars. I don't know about Shaynes23's, Nevermore's, or G-Prime's as I don't remember where they were at before. But I had looked at the two I mentioned the last time I was on so I know they all were hit. Sounds like someone is hating on us! Mine was the only one that dropped a smiley, I mean star. Should I pitch a fit now? lol

Im going all over the placeon this one. Think Im gonna look like a guru,,or a complete idiot. Im voting for the last one but who knows.

5 right. Well your not quite a guru.

I must have made that too predictable. I'll have to see what I can do about that. But cmdrsam reliquishes his title. We have a 3 way tie>At 7 a piece

rjhabeeb, tristram, and kungfuchef. Congratulations.

I'll have the preview up for MACW as well as the TEW Magazine hopefully later on today. Thanks for all the participation. I'm going to go back and total them up from the beginning and try and keep track of who has the best read on me.
