Elimination Tournament update

Interesting. I personally wouldn't find that to be a problem, but have you considered on the fly booking of any round you're struggling to visualize? -
CornellVerse India Expansion (a forum-sourced mod)

<p>Worker Name: SrivaStallion</p><p> Worker Size: Skinny Lightweight</p><p> Worker Appearance: Long, curly black hair + mustache. Rather dark skin. He fell in love with wrestling while attending a university in Chicago. Training over summers for four years, he has picked up a fairly impressive array of mat moves. His other hobby, snowboarding, inspired some pretty impressive aerobatics in his arsenal as well. He utilizes a corkscrew moonsault as a finishing move.</p><p> Alter-Ego's (with description): none</p><p> Dojo Graduate: none</p><p> Worker Relationships: none</p><p> Worker Personality/Attributes: Can't play dominant, Can't play bad ass, Can't play insane, Plays Swagger well, Plays Weasely/Underdog well, Risk Taker, Creative, Professional</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Experience: Trainee | <strong>Rookie </strong>| Young | Mid-Career | Experienced |Veteran Retired</p><p> </p><p> Worker Type/Style: All-Around | Brawler | Brawler/Wrestler | Hardcore Brawler | Technician | High Flyer </p><p> <strong>Technician/Flyer</strong> | Traditional Luchador Flashy Striker | Spot Monkey | Valet | Announcer | Color Commentator Referee</p><p> </p><p> Skills: Very Weak | Weak | Below Average | Average | <strong>Above Average</strong> Strong | Very Strong | Excellent</p><p> </p><p> Athleticism: Not Gifted | Average | <strong>Gifted </strong>| Freak Athlete</p><p> </p><p> Entertaining: Not Very | Somewhat | <strong>Quite</strong> | Very | Gifted | Rock Star </p><p> <strong>Avg Mic Skills</strong> | Pretty Good Mic Skills | Excellent Mic Skills</p><p> </p><p> Looks: Poor | Non-Descript | <strong>Good </strong>| Very Good | Extremely Good </p><p> Very Menacing | Extremely Menacing | Like A Star | Like A Superstar</p><p> Oozes Star Quality</p> -
<p>It really just depends on who the workers/characters are. With people I'm invested in and feel like I understand and connect with I can work pretty much anywhere they are on the card.</p><p> </p><p> Others, I really never get a feeling for and they end up just trading matches with someone, if that.</p>

Ratings?

The WWE are definitely on the way down in terms of what TEW models as "Popularity". They have no real stars to speak of, certainly nobody more popular than the company is. In a brand new save on day 1, they SHOULD be extremely difficult to get good, popularity-increasing/maintaining ratings for without borderline-cheating by spamming Cena vs. Triple H or whatever (I haven't seen WWE in ages, but shouldn't they all be semi-active at best by now? Isn't 'taker literally retired?). The only problem I see with the mod (just going by this thread and not having played any) is that the AI is *able* to use Cena, Triple H and Undertaker etc that often in the first place.<p> </p><p> If they're falling a size category after one show, I'd definitely look at their starting size to either move them down a category or give them a little more breathing space, but they definitely shouldn't be able to churn out popularity-increasing shows from day one. To me, that's the challenge of playing WWE in a real world mod. They're the SWF of the real world, except that the real world has no USPW, the thing killing them is their own inability to make anyone care.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I mostly agree with everything you said here. I would add though, that Main Event Focus seems like a curious choice for WWE given how absurdly long every PPV and RAW is now. They only kind of emphasize the main event in build so but there's usually at least one other big attraction. I'd argue Regular or even Three Ring Circus would be more suitable.</p> -
Default rated on in angles
LloydCross replied to BuddyGarner's topic in Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 Suggestions
What do you mean? Are you saying you want to book wrestler X into some random angle that has nothing to do with entertainment and have it just change them to being rated on entertainment? -

It basically amounts to hope the Industry/Economy is good enough that you can get enough sponsorship money to run shows at a prophet despite not having any fans or buzz.</p>

This made this suggestion a lot more relevant as mystery opponents are definitely a thing.<p> </p><p> I'm not sure about the ramifications for gameplay though. If it's a mystery opponent, it can theoretically be The Rock, so the hype level should be the maximum amount. But if it's anyone else (and it probably is) that could lead to disappointment, and would somehow backfire in the rating of the show. The feature would somehow have to set an expected bar, and if it turns out to be some local dude you'd lose hype or take a penalty. Because if it ends up being Goldberg squashing someone: not a lot of hype there.</p><p> </p><p> Anyhow: I would definitely use this if it became a thing (but again: bit OP <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />)</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I would expect it to have exactly as much pull as whoever is known to be involved.</p><p> </p><p> Some jobber vs mystery opponent shouldn't build a bunch of extra hype because "it might be the Rock."</p><p> </p><p> In terms of pre-booking as advertising, it's a way to advertise people as being on the card even if you don't know their opponent. It would add more flexibility if you end up having to make a last minute change instead of having to take a penalty for failing to deliver the exact match pre-booked.</p>

Is self-owned Internet PPV too powerful?
LloydCross replied to LloydCross's topic in Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 Suggestions
It looks like there's a setting in eras to lower the PPV buy rate, which probably helps with this. -

Again, an angle can accomplish much the same end.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Does Calm the Crowd mostly reset the crowd to the start of the show and Lift get them a level hotter?</p>

It looks like patch 15 had a bug that sometimes stopped road agents and referees from being defaulted in and this will be fixed in patch 16. That said, before that I had been noticing I consistently forgot to set people in these roles when I cared who did it, especially when adding something from a pre-booking. A situation where I cared would be putting the best people on the matches I specifically wanted to have the highest rating possible and also balancing out the overall workload. I personally enjoyed it being an error when I didn't do anything. Any way for it to be a user preference to not default these into a match unless there's only one person on the roster with the role?

TEW2020 Attribute Suggestion Thread
LloydCross replied to Adam Ryland's topic in Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 Suggestions
At a high level, something to make certain road agents better or worse based on the match their used for. Maybe: Good/Bad at planning squash matches Good/Bad at planning longer matches Good/Bad at technical masterclasses Good/Bad at planning wild brawls etc. -
The screens I've specifically been slowed by are: Select user character (Play as this Character button) Adding a tag team (Add Team button) There may be others. It would be nice if the button that means "Yes, do this" were always called out or highlighted in some fashion. The Pre-Booking screen is a good example, where the button text is yellow. Outlining the button would be pretty cool too.

It made me actually look at his stats and they're so bad. Litvitov is pretty decent though. I think I'm going to break up the tag team and bring in Nightmare Stalker and Slasher from NZ to replace them in the tag division.</p> -
I feel like the game world needs a promotion in Scandinavia (or conceivably Southern Mediterranean) where all the wrestlers take mantles of gods and other mythological figures. it will be mostly Norse at first, but we can have Greek and Egyptian things work their way in over time. So I'm going to make one, but I didn't see any characters that I liked for it so I'm creating one, which I'm finding time consuming, mostly due to my indecisiveness about stats.
