Hey, just wanted to say I've just started reading this, just finished the first part of the second Raw, really enjoying it. It'll probably take me a few days to get up-to-date with the diary, cos I've got exams to revise for and I'm starting to write my own diary. Anyway, from what I've read this is amazing, definately one of my favourites (I only really keep up with a couple at a time, but this is one I'll definately be making time for). Keep up the good work!

This will allow Michaels to remain an active (and even physical) presence on WWF TV until he is fully ready to enter the ring. A Hardys/Dudleys rematch is tentatively scheduled for Backlash. Backlash will feature Triple H in the main event, however his opponent has not yet been finalised. Kevin Dunn floated the idea of Triple H vs Scott Steiner, however that was shut down by the McMahons. The McMahons realise that they need to capitalise on the momentum of the first blockbuster RAW quickly, but would prefer to keep the heat on the War with a match between Triple H and an 'Alliance' Big Boy - either DDP or Booker. Regardless, the PPV will be sold on the War story. D'Lo Brown will be making his return to the company sometime this week. With so much talent on vacation (Jericho and Benoit) or forced out of action due to a storyline (the rest of the Alliance), look for more returns and developmental debuts in the coming weeks. The current plan is to keep guys like Regal, Awesome, Kanyon and Storm working house shows until a creative role is found for them. Cole: Our broadcast colleague almost had an opponent! [An angry Angle gets to his feet, at the same time as RVD, and charges with a takedown! Cole: Well, RVD has just flattened Kurt Angle, but.. hey! Watch it! [Cole is yelling at RVD now, who has rolled Kurt onto the announcer's tables. He pulls out the monitors.] Tazz: Rob! Rob! [RVD ignores his old friend, jumps onto the ring apron, and then onto the top rope.] Cole: Oh no! [B]No![/B] [One R-V-D later, RVD leaps off the top rope and [SIZE="3"]SLAMS ANGLE THROUGH THE TABLE WITH A FIVE-STAR FROG SPLASH!!![/SIZE]] Cole:[B] GOOD GOD!![/B] [We can see Tazz speak, but his audio has been destroyed by RVD's Frog Splash! RVD and Angle lie in ruins, alongside the fallen body of Edge, still out from the belt shot! The crowd rocked in heat, at the pre-Backlash confrontation between The Giant versus Kane! It was, however, short-lived. I loved the ending with DDP slipping into the ring unscouted and dropping HHH with the Diamond Cutter, nice twist to the story. It's also interesting to see Vince being the one to introduce Brock Lesnar into the mix, nice touch with the much-loved WWE/F formula of squashing a couple of cruiserweights to put him over.

It keeps Sting out of the ring which will make his future confrontation with HHH just that much more interesting and special. A very clever way to add Brock Lesnar I must say.

So as excited as I am about a DDP HHH match (and believe me it should be great) I was a bit disappointed with the ending. I mean you made everyone think Sting (A WCW icon) was going to challenge then threw in the DDP (another WCW great but not nearly as over as Sting.) twist. I honestly think it would've been more effective the other way around don't you? Another great show though.

Another great show though.[/QUOTE] Oh, no doubt that Triple H vs Sting is a better match than Triple H vs DDP, but I'm holding off on the 'Big Boys' versus WWF guys until after Backlash. That's why only Big Show and DDP will be in legit matches, as their appearance can be explained by the fact they're under WWF and Alliance contracts. That's also why Nash/Hall/Steiner challenged Rock to a non-match. I'm pulling the trigger on the big stuff pretty soon, but yeah, I want to keep some semblance of reality to the matches for the first PPV. Don't worry, Triple H and Sting will have a match eventually ;)

Moments later, DDP's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' music hits, and the master of The Diamond Cutter makes his way to the ring, to huge heat. The crowd boo, as the guards form a barricade halfway up the ramp!] Cole: Now what?! [HBK yells at his guards, to keep Trips and DDP seperate. Trips yells back at HBK, who yells back that he's doing it for him! An angry Triple H turns away, then [B][SIZE="3"]CHARGES AT THE SECURITY GUARDS!![/SIZE][/B] The crowd pop, but Triple H is restrained. DDP taunts him from the other end of the ramp, and the crowd are rocking!] Tazz: And now DDP knows he's in Triple H's head!! [DDP gives Trips a smile, gives him a [B]BANG[/B]~!, then hops a barricade and leaves through the crowd, waving goodbye to Trips and HBK as he does. A furious Triple H yells at Michaels, then leaves the stage, escorted by security.] Cole: The WWF Champ is [I]FUMING[/I]! [HBK is yelled at by the surrounding crowd, and he shakes his head before turning to leave. But, that's not all.] Tazz: Cole! Look! DDP didn't leave! [Tazz is right. DDP left through the crowd, but he merely got on the other end of the Smackdown! set! Page waits, ready to pounce, as HBK walks towards his position. The camera has a perfect shot of DDP's trap, but HBK is none the wiser.] Cole: And HBK doesn't even realise! Shawn! [DDP strikes, stepping out behind HBK, tapping him on the shoulder then [B][SIZE="3"]DROPPING HIM WITH A DIAMOND CUTTER ONTO THE FLOOR!![/SIZE][/B]!] Cole:[B] OH!! [/quote] After a commercial break, we replay the events from the last segment, as Cole reports that HBK is being tended to by WWF Medical Staff. According to their reports, they do not think HBK has any serious injury, but are stretchering him to a nearby hospital to make sure. He is, however, still unconscious from the Cutter. The crowd rock in cheers, as RVD and Tajiri make their way to the ring. A few seconds later, Angle and Perfect arrive to HUGE heat, and are soon followed by Edge and Val. Immediately, the match descends into a wild brawl! Eventually, referee Mike Chioda got the match under control, with Angle and Tajiri starting. Furious at his loss to Tajiri a week earlier, Angle decimated the Japanese Buzzsaw with suplexes, before tagging to Perfect. The two teamed on Tajiri, before a hot tag to RVD saw him clean house. We then ran through almost every combination of workers in fast-paced action, including a long set between Edge and RVD, before Venis and Perfect were tagged in. The two Backlash opponents went at each other like two hobos fighting over a steak, with Val getting the upper-hand. Were it not for interference from Kurt Angle, Val would have picked up the win with a Perfect-Plex! In the end, however, the match descended into another brawl. This time, it had a different conclusion. Legal man RVD had Perfect down in the ring, and was about to hit the Rolling Thunder, when Kurt Angle grabbed him from behind, then dropped him with the Angle Slam to steal a pinfall at [b]14:23[/b]!! Post-match, Angle and Perfect celebrated their victory, as an angry RVD looked on in anger. [/quote] Backstage, [B]Shane McMahon [/B]and [B]Christian [/B]are seen, preparing [B]Test [/B]for his match with Stone Cold. Shane McMahon is especially enthusiastic. A video plays, detailing the current War between the WWF and WCW's Ric Flair-led 'Big Boys', including the initial attack and the battles since then. It ends with footage of Flair from three weeks earlier, promising that the 'War' has just begun... And we cut back to ringside, just in time for the main event! With the lure of getting his hands on Shane McMahon, Austin was a man possessed in the beginning of the match, hammering at Test with punches, stomps and a general Stone Cold ass-whoomping. It was only when Test reversed an attempted suplex that he got back into the match, and a Powerslam soon after got a two-count. Just when Austin looked like making his comeback, Christian intervened, tripping Austin while he ran the ropes. An angry Austin then floored Test with a punch, and chased Christian around the ring! An angry Test then grabs Austin, and puts him between his legs for a powerbomb, only for Austin to push him off and deliver a low-blow behind the ref's back!!] Cole: Yeah! Austin with some payback!! [Shane McMahon yells and points at Austin, begging for a DQ, only to get floored with a punch from Stone Cold, [I]sending him flying off the ring apron to the floor! [/I] The crowd rock in cheers as Austin turns around, ducks a clothesline from Christian, then throws him out of the ring!!
