Maybe it would help if you removed that big part on the left? I think that would make it look more like a circle while still looking like blood. Just so you know, I noticed the first time I saw it that it was supposed to be the flag. I think it's a great logo. Very clever idea. Gimp is my weapon of choice for the main bulk. Ive tried to switch over to Photoshop but something about it feels a bit too heavy, slow and overkill. However it does have one or two functions that you dont get in Gimp such as a text bending. Also I work in 300x300 size and I always use Photoshop to reduce it to 150x150 because Gimp doesnt produce such good quality. I know Ive said it before but I really would encourage more people to give it a shot.. Generally all thats needed is a knowledge of the Paths/Pen tool and how to make borders (Right click the layer, Alpha to Selection, Edit > Grow 3 pixels > New Layer > Fill with White using Bucket Tool) Once youve got that down then its just messing around with different graphics and font styles ontop of a corner fade background and once you're done whack on a white/black border and youve got yourself a half decent logo. While putting it together, there was certainly something very existential going on in my mind with the contentment of knowledge that no matter how "awesome" I made it, it would almost never get used. Just to be obvious, I'd like to incorporate a nuke into it somehow (preferably not laying horizontal).
