George "The Animal" Steele vs Greg Valentine

Rick McGraw & Scotty McGhee vs Buddy Rose & Brutus Beefcake

Dynamite Express is on a roll, and this is not time to derail them

Rick Martel vs Bob Orton

Blackjack Mulligan vs Roddy Piper

another legend bites the dust

Ricky Steamboat & Ted Dibiase vs Matt Bourne & Jim Duggan

Rat Pack has better tag team experience - and they could know Dibiase's weakness. Could the weight of all the offers and facing his friends pay a toll on Ted? I/C goes down in a tag match - sets up a pair of title defenses for him. Steamboat vs Borne coud be a sleeper classic - plus Rat Pack could be making a giant step toward challenging for the WWF tag titles with a win here.

WWWF Tag Team Title Match

(Champions) Barry Windham & Mike Rotundo vs (Challengers) Adrian Adonis & "Big" John Studd

as the old saying goes, when you have 2 coaches (or quarterbacks), you have NONE! That plays true here as Hart and Heenan cannot co-exist, both wanting to implement their own strategy and make their own man look good. In the end that lack of cohesion gives the edge to the champs

WWWF World Title STEEL CAGE Match

(Challenger) The Missing Link vs (Champion) Paul Orndorff

could be an interesting match - nice to see another unique challenger for the world champ while buying time for a big name contender (steamboat?)

1 point Bonus: Pick The Best rated Match of The Night:

Dibiase-Steamboat vs Rat Pack. Some solid performers here. Dragon and Dibiase can work a 4 star match with a broom and a mop, but they have 2 very good workers on the other side.

RICKY STEAMBOAT & TED DIBIASE vs "HACKSAW" JIM DUGGAN & MATT BOURNE "THE RAT PACK" w/ Gary Hart

Gary Hart did his usual offer up a briefcase full of money for Dibiase, for what seems like the 100th time (or ever since the Summer) Gary Hart makes Dibiase, even more aware, that there is more money in the case this time...And if Dibiase turns it down again, then he will use it as a bounty and has several men looking to cash in on the money in the briefcase". Dibiase grabs the mic from Howard Finkel and says, "Anytime, anywhere and anyone Gary Hart... Is it going to take shoving that briefcase where the sun doesnt shine, to get through your head that Im not interested in your money"

Duggan and Bourne then attack from behind and put a beat down on both Steamboat and Dibiase... Chokes, kicks, jabs to the throat, punches to the head.. Put Steamboat and Dibiase on the defensive end... Steamboat fires back with a series of chops... Dibiase fires back with right hans to the head of Bourne.. Double Irish whip sends Bourne and Duggan colliding into one another...Steamboat & Dibiase then catch them both with a pair of atomic drops... They then collide into one another again... Dibiase clothelines Duggan over the top rope to the floor and then Steamboat slingshots himself up and over the top rope onto the whole pile on the floor, including Dibiase... Ted and Ricky seem to argue for a bit, but give each other a pat on the back and toss their opponents back in the ring... Steamboat hits Bourne with the arsenal of arm drags... Ted tags in and winds up Bournes arm even more and that flips Bourne onto mat and Dibiase legdrops the arm, then stretches it, by pulling on the arm, while driving his feet into head and underarm of Bourne... Steamboat tags back in and nails a leaping chop on Bourne and gets a 2 count... Bourne to the eyes and then rams Steamboats head into Duggan's boot... Duggan comes in with big right hands that send Steambaot almost to mat, but The Dragon comes back with chops of his own and tags in Dibiase... Dibiase and Duggan have a stand off and a battle of shoulderblocks shows neither man budging.. Duggan hits ropes again and Dibiase leap frogs and bounces off opposite ropes himself and connects with a Lou Thesz press and rains down with right hands.. Referee Dick Kroll screams for a break and Bourne rakes Dibiase's eyes from behind and tags in.. Bourne kicks away at Dibiase, then hits an irish whip, but Dibiase reverses and connects with a powerslam and a 2 3/4 count... Dibiase rolls over and tags Steamboat who comes back in with chops galore... Bourne whips Steamboat, who on the bounce back slid between his legs , quickly pounced to his feet and slammed Bourne, then followed with a dropkick... Steamboat climbed the ropes and went to leap off, but got an assist from Duggan who shoved him off and Steamboat crashed to the mat..

Bourne, applied a modified camel clutch on Steamboat, while fishooking his mouth... He then tagged in Duggan, who planted Steamboat in the middle of the ring with several viscious and powerful slams... Duggan, wiped his hands in that gesture, that he was cleaning them off and insinuating the Intercontinental Champion is no problem for him... Bourne tagged back in and locked Steamboats legs up and pulled back on his head, with his forearms across Steamboats face... Bourne screams "Ask him" several times at Joey Marella to see if Steamboat was ready to give... Bourne let Steamboat out, but proceeded to stomp away at the Dragon and keep him down... Bourne whipped Steamboat into the ropes and dropped down allowing the Dragon to run into a Duggan clotheline and a 2 1/2 count... Duggan rammed Steamboat back into corner, drove in several shoulder blocks then hit one of the highest hiptosses of all time, which planted Steamboat in the middle of the ring... Duggan taunted Dibiase while making a weak cover and still got a 2 1/2 count... Duggan caught Steamboat with a bear hu, then lowered Steamboat backwards where Steamboats shoulders and head were almost touching the mat... Bourne tagged himself in and nailed a legdrop across Steamboats neck from this position and got a 2 3/4 and only a 2 3/4 because Dibiase ran in and pulled him off... Marella scolded Dibiase back out of ring and Bourne held Steamboat, while Duggan laid in big ole potato punches to the head... Duggan scooped up Steamboat over his shoulder and went for a powerslam, but Steamboat slid down his back and shoved Duggan face first into buckle... Both Duggan and Bourne were down and looking to make tags and both did at same time... Crowd went crazy for Dibiase

Dibiase nailed Bourne with three running clothelines, each and everyone dropped Bourne to the mat..Dibiase blasted Duggan who was just trying to get back on his feet... Bourne then walked right into a bodyslam, followed by a fistdrop and a what wouldve been a count, but Gary Hart jumped up on the apron.. Dibiase hoisted Hart up in a 2 handed choke hold and Hart dropped the briefcase in the ring... Duggan came up from behind and nailed Dibiase... Steamboat leaped back in and tackled Duggan and those two fell outside and to the floor.. Dibiase picked up the briefcase, but Joey Marella grabbed it as well... Dibiase yanked it away and Marella went flying into the corner... Dibiase dropped the case to check on Marella after realizing what he had done... Matt Bourne picke dup the case and smashed it over the back of Dibiase's head... Marella was shielded by Dibiase and didnt see this... Dibiase fell to the ring and Bourne covered and Marella made the count 1...2...3....

THE TIME: 18:52 YOUR WINNERS: The Team Of: JIM DUGGAN & MATT BOURNE "THE RAT PACK" ... RATED: C+

Dick Weurhle got the whip from Mulligan and Mulligan fought giving it up, when Piper like a cat ran in and nailed Mulligan with a knee to the back.. Piper nailed Mulligan from behind with a flury of right and left hands... Piper kicked Mulligan in the back of the neck, then choked him over the second rope...Piper raked at his face and bit the bridge of his nose... Piper helped Mulligan up to his feet and whipped him into ropes, but Mulligan reversed and Piper bounced back running into a big boot to the face... Mulligan grabbed Piper by the hair and laid in with several right hands and the only reason Piper didnt drop to the mat was because Mulligan was holding him up by the hair.. Mulligan slmmmed iper's head into the turnbuckle... The crowd responded, so Mulligan nailed his head into the buckle 10 more times as the crowd counted along... Piper on wobble street staggered into the middle of the ring throwing rights and lefts that connected with nothing but air...... Mulligan dropped him with a clotheline that got a 2 3/4 count... BOB ORTON sprinted down to ringside and climbed up on the apron causing Mulligan to turn his attention towards him...As Mulligan walked towards Orton.. Piper got back to his feet reached into his tights, wrapped a steel chain around his fist and blasted Mulligan upside the head, while Weurhle was trying to chase Orton off the apron... Piper grabbed Mulligan in a side headlock and blasted away with with chain wrapped fist on Mulligan's head keeping it hidden from Weurhle... Piper walked over to the ropes and taunted the crowd, while Mulligan was down on one knee in the ring, wiping the BLOOD that was dripping from his forehead... Piper wrapped the chain around Mulligan's neck, as Orton climbed half way back up on the apron again distracting Dick Weurhle... The crowd then got loud as out from the entrance way in street clothes and wearing a neck brace came TITO SANTANA... Santana pulled Orton off the apron and blasted Orton over and over agin with right hands and Orton went flying over the ring barricade... Piper spit at Santana from the inside of the ring, allowing Mulligan just enough time to grab Piper by the hair and planta head but followed by the Claw Hold.... Piper dropped to one knee, but with his hand still wrapped with a steel chain, he nailed Mulligan in the groin with a lowblow... Piper hooked the leg and hooked Mulligan's other leg with his leg and got the 1...2...3....

THE TIME: 8:25 YOUR WINNER: "ROWDY" RODDY PIPER ... RATED: C+

Piper taunted Tito Santana again... Tito climbed up in the ring and took the mic from Howard Finkel... His voice was EXTREMELY Horse as you could tell it pained Tito to talk... Tito then said, " I'm sick of it, the guys in the back are sick of it and all these fans are sick of seeing you fight every battle with that chain of your's.... And, while Doctors say, I cant wrestle for some time, If its a chain you want to fight with, I'll go and get my chain and things will be even!"... Piper, now standing side by side with Bob Orton told Tito to go get his chain... They wlaked towards Tito as Tito went to the entrance curtain and grabbed a large , thick steel chain... Tito pulled the chain through the curtain and Piper and Orton backed off a bit... Tito continued to pull this large chain out and you could tell it was attached like a dog collar...As Tito continued to pull it was attached to a man and that man came through the curtain and that man was

The Dog then wrapped part of the chain around his fist and went at Piper and Orton and those two took off running, leaping over the barricade and exiting through the crowd as JYD entered the ring and Tito Santana climbed up on the ring and patted him on the back

Pro Wrestling Illustrated Weekly: An inside look at whats happening in the world of Professional wrestling

WWWF:

The WWWF comes off a big event this past Saturday Night in Madison Square garden and the fans are buzzing about several developements... First after defedning the world title in a steel cage match against The Missing Link, World Champion Paul Orndorff interviewed at ringside with Gorilla Monsoon discussing how he is approaching the 1 year mark of his title reign and is need of new challengers, as he has beaten everyone the WWWF has to offer... This brought out Intercontinental Champion Ricky Steamboat and reminded Orndorff of how he defeated him a couple of times when they first entered the WWWF in the Spring of 1983 and that as Intercontinental Champion he would like to invoke the number one contender clause and challenge Orndorff for the World Title... Commisioner Pat Patterson was quick to draw up a contract and this match will take place next month in The Garden... Also Tito Santana made his presence felt, interjecting himself into Roddy Piper's match against Blackjack Mulligan.. While it was very difficult to understand Santana due to his injured vocal chords, he did bring out re-inforcements when he countered Roddy Piper's usage of a chain, by bringing out a large steel chain of hs own, and Santana's chain had a Junkyard Dog attached to it... JYD has made a huge name for himself in the South and Mid-South territories and is looking to make a name for himself in the WWWF and he is aiming right for one of the WWWF's biggest names as commisioner Pat Patterson quickly drew up a contract for Piper and JYD next month in MSG.. Also, Gary Hart continues to try and recruit Ted Dibiase to his camp... Hart stated he put more money in the briefcase and that Ted could ither accept it or Hart will use that money to pay for someone to else to take out Dibiase for not joining his stable... Dibiase has signed an open contract for next month in the Garden and Hart has stated he will have someone willing to come in and take him up on his offer and put Dibiase out of action .. Meanwhile Hart's "Rat Pack" of Jim Duggan and Matt Bourne have made themselves the number one contender's to the WWWF World tag Titles after an impressive victory of Ricky Steamboat & Ted Dibiase... The Rat Pack will challenge Barry Windham & Mike Rotundo for the WWWF tag titles next month in the Garden.. Also on Primetime Wrestling, we have seen some footage of "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala and that he will be appearing in the WWWF very soon.

nice addition with JYD. With that Midsouth contingent, its no surprise you're getting some great results in Texas. And with Adonis being the SWCW champ, I'd expect you'll be expanding and gaining in the SW too very soon.

The Superstar is gearing up for a cage match in MSG with The Magnificent Muraco, while The Duke looks to break his 0 for Ever streak in the Boston Garden.. Will The Superstar overlook his matchup in anticipation for Muraco... Can the Duke finally catch a break

BUDDY LANDELL vs "THE UGANDAN GIANT" KAMALA w/ Friday

The enormous monstrosity from the jungles of Uganda looks to continue his path of destruction... Buddy Landell, now hearing a few cheers stands in hs way, can he stop this savage

THE MISSING LINK w/ "Captain" Lou Albano vs "BIG" JOHN STUDD w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan

Captain Lou seems to be the only person who can remotely tame the Link.. Heenan is looking to prove a point to his former Family member and looking to get Big John back on track in singles competition.. Anything can happen in this one, especially with the Link involved

WWWF TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

(Champions) "THE US EXPRESS" BARRY WINDHAM & MIKE ROTUNDO w/ "Captain" Lou Albano vs (Challengers) "THE DYNAMITE EXPRESS" RICK "QUICKDRAW" MCGRAW & SCOTTY MCGHEE

The Tag Team Titles are on the line in a battle of the "Expresses". The US Express look to continue to roll through the competition, while The Dynamite Express look to take advantage of a Tag Title shot they recieved for putting on a 5 match win streak.. The Dynamites have struggled since Roddy Piper made short work of them in singles competition.. Can they muster back their winning ways in a battle of fan favorites

"MR. USA" TONY ATLAS vs ADRIAN ADONIS w/ Jimmy Hart

Mr. USA looks to climb back up that ladder after his run at the World title was unsuccessful and looks to do it against the WWWF World television Champion... This match is not televised therefor Adonis's World title is not on the line, but a win here in the Garden by Atlas, could move him to the top of the list of contender's

TED DIBIASE vs "HACKSAW" JIM DUGGAN w/ Gary Hart

These two have battled before as The Rat Pack usually comes out ahead in in tag competition against Dibiase, but Dibiase has the better record in the singles ranks... Gary Hart says he has a standing offer for Dibiase to join his stable and for months Dibiase has declined.. Hart says that money each time Dibiase declines is set away for someone, to finally beat some sense into him... A win by either man, looks great on their resume towards singles gold

WWWF INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH

(Champion) " RICKY "THE DRAGON" STEAMBOAT vs (Challenger) "MANIAC" MATT BOURNE w/ Gary Hart

After "The Rat Pack defeated Dibiase and Steamboat in tag team competition, Gary Hart was able to get his men a shot at singles gold... The Maniac is one of the most underated grapplers in the WWWF and with Gary Hart at his side, anything is possible... Can the Dragon be ready for an upset as he looks ahead to a World title showdown in the coming weeks?

THE JUNKYARD DOG, PEDRO MORALES & GEORGE "THE ANIMAL" STEELE vs "ROWDY" RODDY PIPER, "ACE" BOB ORTON & GREG "THE HAMMER" VALENTINE

The big showdown in this match will be when Piper and JYD face off... Pedro Morales also has some beef with Piper nad he and the Dog, took on the always unpredictable George The Animal Steele to help them in a big six man tag match

WWWF WORLD TITLE MATCH

(Challenger) RICK MARTEL vs (Champion) "MR. WONDERFUL" PAUL ORNDORFF w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan

Martel was unsuccesful in his bid for the World title a couple months back, but has continued to work his craft and study the film as he tries to climb the mountain and attain his goal to become the World heavyweight Champion... With Orndorff signed to meet Steamboat in a few weeks, could this be the classic trap match for Orndorff ?

TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

(Champions) Barry Windham & Mike Rotundo vs (Challengers) Rick McGraw & Scotty McGhee

I do not care how well McGraw and McGhee have been doing, the Widowmaker and Captain Mike are just the better team.

Tony Atlas vs Adrian Adonis

I have to agree with Gentleman Raven, I think this will end in a draw.

Ted Dibiase vs Jim Duggan

I think Ted will eventually take his place in the Rat Pack, but now is not the time.

INTERCONTINENTAL TITE MATCH

(Champion) Ricky Steamboat vs (Challenger) Matt Bourne

I am very tempted to give the nod towards JYD and company but the Piper team is just the better of the two teams.

will the DUKE catch a break? not tonight

Buddy Landell vs Kamala

The Missing Link vs "Big" John Studd

TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

(Champions) Barry Windham & Mike Rotundo vs (Challengers) Rick McGraw & Scotty McGhee

Tony Atlas vs Adrian Adonis

seems like Adonis is going places right now - and could be built as a good first challenge if Steamboat wins the world title

Ted Dibiase vs Jim Duggan

maybe by DQ as Rat Pack gets involved. Could also go the draw route. For now, I think Dibiase is the more important and Duggan proably gains just by being in the match against him

INTERCONTINENTAL TITE MATCH

(Champion) Ricky Steamboat vs (Challenger) Matt Bourne

could be the ultimate trap. I like seeing titles go to guys who never really held them historically. Borne made his biggest mark in WWF as a clown, so this would be a new role for him (even if a bridge to someone like JYD who would be a natural feud for the Rat Pack)

Junkyard Dog, Pedro Morales & George "The Animal" Steele vs Roddy Piper, Bob Orton & Greg Valentine

WORLD TITLE MATCH

(Challenger) Rick Martel vs (Champion) Paul Orndorff

Building toward Wonderful vs Dragon. This match keeps Paul strong - while maybe showing a weakness that Steamboat will later exploit

Pro Wrestling Illustrated Weekly: An inside look at whats happening in the world of Professional wrestling

WWWF:

The WWWF had a rather lackluster show this past Saturday night in Boston. WWWF World Champion Paul Orndorff seemed to want nothing to do with challenger Rick Martel as he spent a majority of his time arguing with fans around ringside... His manager Bobby Heenan was quoted after the match, saying Mr. Wonderful did what Mr. Wonderful had to do, to get the win and yet save some energy for his upcoming title defense against intercontinental Champion Ricky Steamboat at Madison Square garden in a few short weeks... Another incident involving Ted Dibiase and Gary Hart occurred as Dibiase yet again, turned down Hart's advances to join his "Rat Pack" stable. Hart brought out even more money and Dibiase kicked the briefcase and threw some of the cash into the crowd. Hart said afterword, "That Dibiase continues to make mistakes and for embarrassing me like that in The Boston Garden, I'm going to use this money towards someone that will take Dibiase out". WWWF has a big Prime Time Wrestling show scheduled for this week as Big John Studd and Rick Martel face off in a return match from last week, The World tag team Champions, Barry Windham & Mike Rotundo break off in singles action against The West Coast Playboys in Brutus Beefcake & Buddy Rose.. Adrian Adonis will defend the World television Title against "Superstar" Billy Graham and in the main event The Junkyard Dog & Tony Atlas will take on Bob Orton & Roddy Piper... JYD has recently stepped into the shoes for Tito Santana in his war against Roddy Piper, however piper has ducked getting into with The DOG at every chance... JYD and Roddy Piper however, have signed for a match at the next Madison Square Garden show

<p>wow, hard to believe the champ turned in such a clunker with Martel. I'm sure Heenan is correct and Mr Wonderful was simply saving it all for an A+ match with Steamboat. That should be a "wonderful" series.</p><p> </p><p>

PrimeTime sounds like a packed show.</p>
