Once again hats off to you oldschool! You have just nailed this time period down so well! Granted I started to watch the WWF three years later but the promotion was still some what this way when I was a little kid. And I have a fondness of seeing names like Tony Atlas, Pete Doherty, Don Muraco, etc.

TUESDAY NIGHT TITANS (TNT on USA)

Gorilla Monsoon and Gene Okerlund introduce the show from ringside and hype up tonights doubl main event as Samula of the Wild Samoan's takes on Rick Martel and Bob Backlund takes on Swede Hanson in a match if Hanson wins he will recieve a title match and if Backlund wins Hanson will retire... Lets go to the ring...

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/IvanPutski.jpghttp://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/BrutusBeefcake.jpg

"Polish Power" Ivan Putski beats Ed Leslie 7:01 Monsoon talks about how we have a couple of well put together wrestlers here, but have to give the advantage to the experienced Putski... Leslie looks good for a bit, nailing a couple of big forearms on Putski, after winning a test of strength due to the leverage he has, because of his height advantage... Putski powers back rolling out of the way of a knee drop, then hitting the polish hammer for the 1...2...3.. RATED: E

Event Center w/ Howard Finkel: Rick Martel is there to hype his match tonight with Samula and says he needs someone to watch his back because there are so many variables running around with the Wild Samoan's.. He's brought in a man that has a bone to pick with the Samoan's because of the last time a wrestler brought him in to watch their backs he didn't get the job done... Out walks Andre The Giant... T"he 8th wonder of the world will be in my corner tonight baby" states Martel. RATED: D

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/SuperstarGraham.jpghttp://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/PaulChristy.jpg

"Superstar" Billy Graham beat Paul Christy 7:12 Graham spent the first part of the match on the house mic, calling out BlackJack Mulligan... That big ole greasy cowboy aint nothin to the Superstar... I'm lean, I mean, I'm a well oiled Machine and Blackjack we get some unfinished business to take care." Graham then went on to pummel the veteran Christy... Finally putting him away with a full nelson as referee Dick Weurhle raised his arm and it dropped three times... RATED: E+

As the match ended Graham continued putting the boots to Christy before Blackjack Mulligan ran out flailing a big ole cowbell attached to a bull rope at Graham... RATED: D-

EVENT CENTER w/ Howard Finkel: Swede Hanson is the guest and tonight "I am, leaving it all out on the line, they will not be one bit of gas left in my tank.. I've wrestled for almost 30 years and everything I've ever learned, accomlished, every drop of blood and sweat, will be rolled up into a ball of fire coming after you Bob Backlund... If I'm not good enough to win just this one match, with everything but the kitchen sink being thrown your way, then I will be willing to hang up the tights for good RATED: D

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/SgtSlaughter.jpghttp://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/MaskedSuperstar-1.jpghttp://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/GeorgeSteele.jpghttp://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/FreddieBlassie.jpghttp://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/Invader2.jpghttp://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/Invader3.jpghttp://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/TonyGarea.jpg

Sgt. Slaughter, The Masked Suerstar & George "The Animal" Steele w/ "Classy" Freddie Blassie beat The Invaders #1 & #2 & Tony Garea 11:10 Fred Blassie reveals under his sequinned jacket that he is wearing a "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff T-shirt... The Invaders take control early with their speed running circles around Blassie's army... That is until Sarge contacts with a cannon almost decapitating Invader#1.. The match is basically a handicap match as George Steele is pre-occupied with the masks of his own partner and his opponents, that he keeps putting things over his head trying to emulate the others.. Superstar and Slaughter...Could've put Invader #1 away a long time ago, but keep pulling his head up as referee Dick Kroll hits 2 1/2.... Blassie gets on the mic at ringside and states that he is prepared to make an offer to Mr. Wonderful to join the most elite army in wrestling... Tony Garea hot tags in and dropkicks everyone.. He backdrops the Superstar and bodyslams the Sarge, before Steele trips him from the outside allowing Slaughter to lock on a cobra clutch... Garea escapes with a jawbreaker and hot tags in Invader #2, who comes in with fists and kicks for everybody... Invader #2 goes for a high cross bodyblock off the ropes only to be caught by Masked Superstar in a bear hug, who bends him down towards the mat and Slaughter comes off with an elbow for the 1...2...3...... RATED: D-

EVENT CENTER w/ Howard Finkel: Bob Backlund comes in and states how he has had many tough battles in the past with Swede Hanson, and expects the fight of his life from Hanson tonight as Hanson will bring everything he has to prove himself one last time RATED: D

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/ReneGoulet.jpghttp://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/BBrianBlair2.jpg

Rene Goulet beat Brian Blair 9:50 This was an evenly fought contest.. Blair wrestled and countered wrestled Goulet, who always reverted to cheating... Goulet wears down Blair using the ropes as leverage with an abdominal stretch...Blair fights back with a big hip toss and a backdrop... Blair charges at Goulet in the corner and Goulet catches him with an elbow and plants him on his back using his feet for leverage on the ropes to get three as Okerlund calls this a mild upset... RATED: D-

Monsoon and Okerlund talk about the break-up of the Soul Patrol and show video footage from las Saturday Nights event at The Boston Garden... RATED: D-

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/RickMartel.jpghttp://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/Samu.jpg

Rick Martel beat Samula 8:13 Everyone is out in their respective corners King Curtis and Lou Albano in the corner of Samula, while Andre The Giant is in the corner of Rick Martel... King Curtis tried to trip Martel as he was running the ropes in a series of dropdowns and leapfrogs.. Martel gets out of the ring and chases King Curtis right into an Andre Headbutt.. Albano makes sure he is staying as far away from Andre as possible Afa & Sika now start to make their way down to ringside and are cut off by Andre ..Samula shows good athletic ability keeping up with Martel in the ring. Samula begins to destroy Martel with headbuts and gains several near falls.. Samula tosses Martel to the floor... Andre comes over to make save, but Andre is jumped by Afa and begins fighting off both Afa & Sika... Martel is rolled back in ring by King Curtis and as Samula goes for a slam, Martel rolls him up into a small package for a three count...RATED: C-

Martel and Andre begin to fight off All three Samoans, plus Iakea and Albano... Andre grabs a chair and The Samoans all retreat... Andre with Martel in the ring grabs the house mic and states that last time in Madison Square garden he won a battle royal for a shot at any title, well he is going to cash that in this Saturday Night at Madison Square Garden against the Samoans for the World Tag Team titles with Rick Martel as his partner... RATED: C-

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/BobBacklund.jpghttp://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d43/cpevans31/SwedeHanson.jpg

Bob Backlund beat Swede Hanson 10:07 Backlund started off dominating the match as Swede tried going hold for hold with the champ... Hanson finally dropped the wrestling bit and just went to brawling and the crowd actually started getting behind him as Hanson really was taking it to Backlund... Hanson ducked a Backlund clotheline and hit a vicious one of his own which drew a 2 3/4 count from Dick Weurhle... The crowd actually popped for Hanson as he looked right in the eyes of the referee "Saying he had him"... Backlund applied an abdominal stretch which Hanson reversed... Backlund then went for an atomic dro, which Hanson reversed into his own and another 2 7/8th count!.. Backlund latched on his reverse chicken wing submission and Hanson fought for the ropes for minutes only to have Backlund pull him back to the center of the ring... Hanson again went for the ropes getting with inches and Backlund dragged him back to the center again, ... Hanson let out a big scream and made a third attempt, but Backlund had it cinched in this time so Swede couldn't move and Swede Hanson finally submitted... RATED: D+

After the match Swede Hnson, bowed to the fans and thanked them, the crowd began showing their support... Backlund also shook Hanson's hand as Swede left saying goodbye RATED: E

Eddie Gilbert vs Tiger Chung Lee

Backlund's boy looks strong, so he can continue to be a feud tool, for the big guy.

The Moondogs Rex & Spot vs Pedro Morales & Ivan Putski

I'm not big on Putski, and Morales is getting on in years, so I'm giving this one to the Moondogs. I think the new team of Andre and Martel will take the belts later in the night, so the Moondogs need to look good as challengers.

Tony Atlas vs "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff

I'm keeping with my prediction, that Orndorff will keep rolling, right to a title shot. Rocky Johnson will make his presence felt, to cement his heel status with the New York faithful.

The Iron Sheik vs Mil Mascaras

In reality, Sheik took the title not long from now, so he's probably a bit more established that Mascaras. He won't be near as good a worker, but hopefully he can learn something.

Masked Superstar & George "The Animal" Steele vs Tito Santana & Ricky Steamboat

You've got to give my a darn good reason to pick against Steamboat, as he's one of my favourites of all time. Slaughter is the big wheel in Blassie's crew, so these guys can take the fall.

Tag Team Title Match

Challengers: Andre The Giant & Rick Martel vs Champions The Samoans Afa & Sika

This will keep Andre occupied, so that he can stay dominant, without getting himself too involved in the World title picture. A smart move, in my book. Besides, you're all out of face challengers.

Steel Cage Match

Sgt. Slaughter vs Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka

I've predicted a face-heavy card, so far, and this is the place to maintain some balance. Snuka will go for the Splash, off the cage, and miss. Slaughter will pick up the scraps.

WWWF World Title Match

Challenger: "The Magnificent" Muraco vs Champion: Bob Backlund

Muraco is doing a great job as Intercontinental Champion, but not good enough to warrant Backlund dropping the belt. Especially not with Valentine, Orndorff, and Slaughter beating down his door. Backlund's still money.

Good diary,I gotta start doing picks for this one...

Eddie Gilbert vs. Tiger Chung Lee

If this ends up where I think, then Gilbert needs to pick up some wins;besides Eddie has potential while Lee isn't showing us much talent past jobber level anyway.

The Moondogs vs. Pedro Morales & Ivan Putski

The Moondogs don't really work for me,while Morales & Putski are over with crowd.Win to give them credibility, then later feed them to a good heel team.

Tony Atlas vs. "Mr.Wonderful"Paul Orndorff

The lesser half of The Soul Patrol goes down as Mr.Wonderful rolls on,hopefully to eventual program with the champ.

The Iron Sheik vs. Mil Mascaras

Sheik is pretty good in the ring and can get the crowd going, the only thing holding him back is his english kind of sucks so he can't cut a good promo by himself,a manager could fix that though,so I'll give him the nod.

Masked Superstar & George"The Animal" Steele vs. Tito Santana & Ricky Steamboat

You need heels, and Superstar is a good heel.Tito will probably suck it up to protect Ricky a little bit.

Andre the Gaint & Rick Martel vs The Wild Samoans

Traditionally this is where Andre takes the occasional loss via his partner getting pinned,Afa & Sika take it with come help from the manager.Would not be at all shocked if Andre killed them after the match is over, though.

Sgt.Slaughter vs. Jimmy"Superfly" Snuka

The Sarge is another good candidate to go against Backlund;Snuka crashes and burns on the splash and Sarge walks out the door for the win.

Magnificent Muraco vs. Bob Backlund

Bob is good in the ring(he's alot like the old school NWA champs, like Dory Funk,Jr. or Jack Brisco, his deal is move for move in the ring, not cutting entertaining promos on the mic)."The Rock" is good but i don't think he's quite ready for the next level yet,a good manager could get him there though.

Eddie Gilbert vs Tiger Chung Lee - Unfortunately Lee just screams jobber to me.

The Moondogs Rex & Spot vs Pedro Morales & Ivan Putski - Morales and Putski can be huge.

Tony Atlas vs "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff - Perhaps I'm going with the underdog in this one but I like Atlas.

The Iron Sheik vs Mil Mascaras - The Iron Sheik has to win this and go on a huge run.

Masked Superstar & George "The Animal" Steele vs Tito Santana & Ricky Steamboat - Put the superior talent over.

Tag Team Title Match

Challengers: Andre The Giant & Rick Martel vs Champions The Samoans Afa & Sika - Andre and Martel don't seem like a good team to me.

Steel Cage Match

Sgt. Slaughter vs Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka - Could see this one going either way, but would love to see the Splash from the top.

WWWF World Title Match

Challenger: "The Magnificent" Muraco vs Champion: Bob Backlund - Backlund's going to hold onto the title for a while yet.

QUICK PICK PREDICTIONS:

Eddie Gilbert vs Tiger Chung Lee

Eddie was great and taken far too soon. You better push him!

The Moondogs Rex & Spot vs Pedro Morales & Ivan Putski

New contenders for the Samoans perhaps?

Tony Atlas vs "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff

I'll say Mr. Wonderful gets the win through outside interference.

The Iron Sheik vs Mil Mascaras

The Sheik BETTER win or I might not read anymore! Iran numbuh one!

Masked Superstar & George "The Animal" Steele vs Tito Santana & Ricky Steamboat

Steamboat was a god and its a crime how overlooked Tito is historically.

Tag Team Title Match

Challengers: Andre The Giant & Rick Martel vs Champions The Samoans Afa & Sika

But only by DQ or countout.

Steel Cage Match

Sgt. Slaughter vs Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka

You maggot! You puke! You slime!

WWWF World Title Match

Challenger: "The Magnificent" Muraco vs Champion: Bob Backlund

Howdy Doody's not losing yet.
