Terra Ryzin
I know this whole thread is suppose to be on topic for WWE and all.. and what I'm saying .. is, at least that part..

Anyway, Botchamania showed when Dean Ambrose messed up his lines in the ring with Miz, and said he loved black guys, even though I'm pretty sure he meant black eyes.. or something but still.. made me giggle like a little girl, sorry.

Ambrose was also involved in a commercial for mexico or something and I think he translated to something about " WWE is shit. " But that was earlier in the launch of WWE Network, and also could've been tampered easily as well I suppose, but the Botchamania thing was what I was mainly here to speak of.

Sorry also if this was already mentioned, I'd just recently seen it (the video), and I haven't watched WWE in years, just whatever I get from TEW is about all I know..
Rone Rivendale
He didn't botch the line, it just sounds a lot alike. If you say black eyes, it sounds like black guys. Just like if you say black hawks, it sounds like black cocks.

The Final Countdown
A few months ago, I jokingly said to a friend of mine that Vince would probably give Nakamura the Orient Express theme that like 75% of the Japanese guys have historically gotten. Obviously they've progressed a bit, but Vince is still Vince.

The Jinder Mahal booking is far worse than Nak's IMO. If they truly do want to make a star for India to get behind, how about making him an interesting character who just happens to be Indian? Nah, let's just rehash the anti-American foreign heel stereotype we've been relying on for sixty years instead. For as much as Vince hates the "southern 'rasslin" style, in many ways it feels like he's the last one clinging to a lot of those outdated concepts.

For as much as Vince hates the "southern 'rasslin" style, in many ways it feels like he's the last one clinging to a lot of those outdated concepts. Swap Indian to Pakistani-American and you just described Mustafa Ali. Unfortunately, because Mahal's push has come about so quickly they took the easy way out and just gave him a mashup of the elitist/persecuted/egomaniac/cheating heel gimmicks instead of something more defined and interesting. Greylocke
While I'm happy they didn't go for the stereotypical foreign heel route for Mustafa Ali, he's anything but an interesting character at the moment. He's the generic "living my dream" young guy who "worked hard to get here" like 70% of the NXT young guys/girls mould. In fact, the most distinct part of his character is the WWE stressing repeatedly that he's not a stereotypical "I am an oppressed minority treated with the usual prejudice because of my ethnicity" guy. Which is a step in the right direction, but it's still pretty much making out his ethnicity to be the only interesting part about him. Not complaining, at least it's some progress. I'm more annoyed about the stable as a whole than about Jinder. Let's throw these guys into a random stable because they're Indians! That has always worked so well, right? New Day managed to develop an act that got over, but they initially got tonnes of "New Day Sucks" chant because everyone could tell that they were just 3 black guys whom Creative had nothing for and just randomly dumped together. Fleisch
I had no clue Mahal and the Singh brothers were Canadian and I suspect few people do. Authors of Pain are Canadian and Albanian born BTW but could pass for Indian. Jeet Rama and Kishan Raftar are both developmental Indian born stars who toured with WWE last year in India. As for pushing Mahal as a face -- he's better as a heel. Remember when Vince wanted Del Rio to be the poster boy for WWE in Mexico and turned him babyface. Total flop. Getting stars with middle eastern heritage on TV and house shows is enough to help break into that market, regardless of their alignment or push. Indeed he was. Jinder Mahals uncles Akam and Gama Singh were regulars for Stampede in Canada during the 80's, and also went by the tag name Karachi Vice outside of Stampede. The family settled in Canada before Jinder was born. As for the Bollywood Boys, Bruce Hart can be named in the list of people they have trained under. I just get fed up with this nonsense that WWE continues to put out. If you're not American, you're automatically (at least 95% of the time) anti-American and a horrible person. That really isn't true at all. You can hate America and be a pretty decent person. You can love America and be a hateful S.O.B. but let's not get in the way of a good old stereotype though! That they've worked this angle for Jinder & the Bollywood Boys, and Michael Hayes still has a job backstage for WWE, would not seem coincidental to me.

The Final Countdown
Just got back from an NXT house show. It was fun and I had a good time, but if there's one thing I'm taking away from it, it's that Aleister Black's got a bright future if creative doesn't fail him. I was familiar with the name Tommy End but had never seen him before Takeover, and I wasn't all that impressed with him there. Tonight was a different story. He just felt like a star from the moment he stepped onto the ramp to the moment he left.

Mootinie
This PPV name wasn't Vince's idea. Vince has been naming events Survivor Series, Backlash, Bad Blood, No Mercy, etc etc for over 30 years now, why would he break that mold now? Meanwhile, HHH has facilitated the birth of the working relationship with ICW and PROGRESS and you're telling me it's a mere coincidence that WWE is now giving their special events stupid names like they do?
