The Official WWE / NXT Discussion Thread *May Contain Spoilers*

Personally I really enjoy Sheamus's mic work, not a huge fan of his in the ring but his accent I like, especially for the particular reason that I think it sounds awesome on pay per view hype videos. Seriously. I have him vs. Undertaker in my head already with Sheamus' voice vowing to destroy him forever...

Marathon NXT watching session in preparation for this week, since I haven't watched since the end of season 1.

LOVING Percy Watson, primarily because he's got a nice physique, and has that "used to be an athlete" thing going, but looks and acts like a dork.

On the other hand, I have to take back what I said a few weeks ago about LayCool. Whenever they're not doing their pre-practiced stuff (like trying to talk together) they are both pretty fun on the mic, reminding me of what I liked about John Morrison as a heel.

Can someone explain Zach Ryder to me? I mean, I know that he's a New Jersey (?) stereotype, but I don't know anything about the stereotype, and I don't really get his catchphrase. To me, it'd be like if someone's catchphrase was "poolbear." Which would be really cool if someone could come up with a logical explaination for it actually.

Also, Michael McGillicutty looks to me EXACTLY like Jamie Noble. It's the weirdest thing.

He was pretty much maineventing smackdown in 2002/2003.

EDIT 2: This looks shopped. I can tell from some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few shops in my time.

Well, the E was still advertising appearances by Bryan at least a week after he got fired, so as far as putting out a toy that breaks the storyline firing (if it is that, which I'm only assuming for the sake of discussion), I can't say I would put it past them.

EDIT: On the other hand, that is actually LOWER quality than their Build N' Brawl line; Danielson looks like Gregory House; and, why does Danielson's genital-region come as a separate piece?

I'm racking my brain for people I think are good, viable contenders for the Dublya Doublya E Championship, that haven't been champ yet. I can't think of any at this point, though if Miz or Morrison got a good solid push for a couple months I guess they could be made into contenders. Wade Barrett's an unknown quantity as far as what push they're going to give him. But that seems to be it.

That's kinda like playing a music game show and answering successfully that you know the name of that crazy Spanish-Mexican dance song from around 1996 where there was that rad worldwide dance phenomena. Sadly, I know what it is (Macharena) <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

They're no longer 'cool' in the singalong with The Rock fashion. They're more "Look at me, I have a catchphrase. I'm a wrestler!". To me, they reek of desperation. Which is probably why I like Zack Ryder's. He's an attention whore who really wants you to think he's a cool guy with a cool catchphrase, but really isn't and really doesn't. It's suitable. Woo Woo Woo. You Know It.

It's similar to why I like The Miz' catchphrase. Wrestling fans have always seemed to resent his Real World roots, so the catchphrase is more than just "I'm Awesome". He's really saying "Look at me. I have a catchphrase. I'm a wrestler, and there's nothing you can do about it" and that's got to get under the skin of some people.

Also, the sheer commitment in Miz' delivery is stunning.
