What's going on in your game?

Recommended Posts

In my #2 game as SWF I'm trying to stick by Richard Eisen's owner goals. Well one of them is to not hire or extend anyone with <C- selling. That means I'm about to lose Vengeance :(

Had big plans for him. About to lose Primus Allen too :(

Gotta pull a monster heel out of my arse now. Thinking about calling up Giant Brody and pushing him to the moon and bringing in Larry Wood to cover that role in the interim while Brody gets over on Uprising.

I would bring in The Big Problem but he's still on my bad side after what happened in my FTW game. Maybe Man Mountain Cahill but I'm not sure how I would explain his appearance.

Signing/re-signing one or two people against your owners goals isn't too bad unless you think you're actually at risk to fail a critical goal. If the rules weren't meant to be broken occaisonally, then the game wouldn't let you.</p>

<p>Well in the NYCW game I just started, the entire top half of my promotion decided to retire within the span of three months. Lee Wright, Black Hat Bailey, Larry Vessey, Whistler and Steve Flash have all retired.<img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I have played a lot of NYCW games and this has never happened before. Usually I only have Bailey and Vessey retire during the first year. Hell I had one save where Lee Wright lasted until 2013 before he retired. So I am shocked at this. Plus to top it all off Land Mass is going to be calling it quits soon as well (not that I will miss him much but still).</p>

<p>Christian Faith has announced his retirement in my USPW game he has been mentoring the Keith Boys and I have just signed (the retired) Sam Keith so the plan is Keith comes in and attemps to get his boys back (Faith and the Keith's are heel so Sam will be face) this will lead to next month Sam Keith vs Christian Faith in my promotions first ever Hell in A Cell (The Keith's and Faith have been cryptically 'dissing' Sam for the past few months every now and again) Faith will win due to Greg Keith pulling his leg and Faith DDT'ing Keith into a steel chair for the win. After the match Sam Keith will try and show respect to Faith offering his hand, but the Christian punches him and knocks him down (he is pretty beat up from the match) and Greg will start shoeing him in, but Matty Keith seems subdued and Faith holds Keith up for Matty to hit the final KO punch (I've hyped up Keith's left hook a bit) and Greg is encouraging him, but Matty turns to Greg and knocks him out and Faith runs at him but is knocked out leading to a feud between the Keith Boys, first a time limit draw followed by a 90 minute Iron Man on succesive PPV's with Matty (the face) coming out on top leaving him to face Christian Faith in a loser never fights in USPW again, Matty obviously wins and Faith retires cementing Matty's place a main event (currently an undefeated Upper Midcarder) and then moving him into singles programmes with the top guys as all they have been doing is beating tag teams and lower guys and then it becomes.</p><p> </p><p>

Playing the End of the Millennium mod as a created promotion. It's a local promotion. I created it under the Rock Hard difficulty.

Anyways, we're based in the Great Lakes. Haven't had the first show yet, but the first show is going to feature the first 8 matches in my tournament for my main event title. It features 8 main eventers and 8 upper midcarders

Main event round 1:

Charlie Haas vs Essa Rios

Christian York vs Ekmo

Kenny Kaos vs Jaysin(my user character)

Amazing Red vs Daniels

Upper Midcarders round 1:

Abyss vs Joey Mercury

Low Ki vs AJ Styles

Super Dragon vs Gabriel Black(Justin Gabriel)

Blitzkrieg vs Quackenbush

Haas, Ekmo, Jaysin, and Daniels are going to win their matches

Mercury, AJ, Gabriel, and Blitzkrieg are winning theirs

I'm hoping it turns out ok.

**edit**

My promotion is called WAR(Wrestling Arts Revolution), a name I came up with about 6 years ago when my brother and I were beating each other up in the back yard :p

Anyways, I held my first show which was just titled WAR I. I'm going to hold an anniversary show ever year on that date, sort of like TNA's Slammiversary. I'm trying to think of a name for it now though. It's in the second week of October. I was hoping to go for a Halloween anniversary, but none of upper tier guys would have been available. Part of me is thinking about just holding it on the last day of October from now on, but anyway. I can't think of a name. I'd like it to sound like its meant to be an anniversary show. It's going to be my second biggest show of the year once I get rolling. The biggest is going to be called Endgame and it's on the last day of the year. So any help would be appreciated. I have a year of game time to come up with something, but I figured I'd get the ball rolling now

Still playing the 1977 CVs mod and my fed is in 1986 next year a decade in universe how awesome. Recent happenings included

-The SWF collapsing under their own weight and going bankrupt in 1985. The influx of talent helped the American indy feds a good deal and a few of the old SWF maineventers went to Canada with the CWF and the others jumping on with NOTBPW which opened recently.

-NOTBPW started fast got a TV contract and then tried to overreach by holding shows in Japan killing their show quality sending them down to cult and back home to Canada to get their roster over at home.

-GCG is the defacto #1 fed in the world followed closely by BHOTWG.

-My own fed which started out in 1977 in front of 30 people is the 6th biggest in the world now and the #1 American fed if just by default we just got a PPV contract and look to be about 1-2 years out from reaching National status and resting on 20 million dollars. SWF closing saw some of our old main eventers come home and mingle in with the new bunch creating the strongest roster in fed history.

-General Kaos became my fed's road agent starting in 1984 because he worked in Japan he speaks both English and Japanese two years later the entire company is now fluent in Japanese from the top down including my user character.

Sounds awesome. I'm somewhat shocked that SWF collapsed under its own weight as they are a juggernaut in the late '70s. Can you give a quick rundown of some of the match of the years or wrestlers of the years?

Bruce left before I joined (I took over from Sam Strong) and I resigned him straight away as his popularity had gone down due to inactivity. The roster is extremely large and we are putting on the best shows (winning all national battles) but are still behind SWF, TCW and NOTBPW overall.

However, SWF are at Cult so I am bigger than them. We are at global

Wow. Utter domination from Japan! Just out of curiosity, how are the other American feds doing (other than SWF)?

AAFW: Went out of business in 1984 a lot of the roster went unsigned and Dick is just now back in the indy feds for one last run.

AICW: Still regional and still kicking around C-C+ range on shows same for belts a rather bland roster the token lower level indy fed that never goes anywhere but makes enough money so they'll always be in business.

APWF: C+ overness in Tri-State and Es in a few other places they have their territory that always draws a huge gate. Good roster really leans toward brawlers could grow a lot more if they toured. Biggest shock is Terry Lambert ended up being a pretty good wrestler with a B match average for the year. Dick the Devastator just arrived.

CPW: Cult sized due to their TV contract B- overness in the western half of the country/Hawaii but unknown elsewhere (F overness outside of the reach of their TV show). Currently have Chief Two Eagles, Preston Holt, and Ray Kingman as their big three and all under written contract making them locked in at the top level. Draw 10,000 on average probably not going anywhere one way or the other.

CWB: Small regional a lot like the AICW but with a lot better booking and a much better roster. Still kinda small but draws 5,000 all the time so in no real trouble.

CCW: Died in 1977 after two shows a historical footnote.

HWF: Somehow became a more serious fed with a good roster (they share a lot of talent with APWF and CWB) draw 2,000 and seem to have moved away from no talents. Still behind CWB in attendance however. Started doing shows in New England.

TWL: currently in transition amazingly over in the mid south (B)/10,000 people at their shows but pretty much refuse to leave the area. Lost a lot of their under card with contracts ending in the last year and probably improved with the new sign ups. Almost entirely base their fed around Nero, Green, Bowman and Mark Barstow. Main event is getting older so in 5-7 years that could be problematic.

WIW: A real hodgepodge of good indy talent and 1/3rd of their roster is from my fed's under cards. Still regional and still in the same boat as CWB/HWF and the like. I may see if I can make them into a developmental fed later on given the roster sharing. Kinda high flyer based and started doing shows in the South West as well as their home market.

I'll go over my own fed later I suppose.

Final TV show before The Supreme Challenge and TCW run their first B+ card in forever, headlined by Hawkins vs. Cornell (A)... trying to steal my momentum before the biggest card of the year, eh? Good thing I went with Gilmore vs. Faith (with good chemistry) as my main event then. A* match, A show, suck that Cornell.

Southern Cross Wrestling in Australia has now hit Small.

Up until the last show (a monthly event called SCW ActionPact), the only champ of the only belt in SCW had been Maurice Jackson. Despite copping ruthless beatdowns month after month from The Barracudas (Vaughan, Blitz Simpson & Chopper Rourke), the brave Jackson held onto the belt and defeated Vaughan in a 'last chance' match. The following month, disgusted at losing to MJ for a third time, The Barracudas gave him his worst whalloping so far, a belting he didnt recover from fully that night and subsequently lost his SCW National title to the one and only 'Greek Punisher', Cesar Sionis!

He's one of the few men in SCW that can actually put on a decent performance in the ring... very few! It's him and Blitz Simpson, that it. 'F Bomb' Felix Harding got a push as MJ's face ally solely on his passable in ring ability. The rest are pants, but it didnt stop me from giving them a decent program.

****y Italian stallion Joe Zucco latched onto Felix Harding's push with a mini-fued. Whilst the Aussie Rules footballer gimmicked Nicky Gilbert fueded with Cesar Sionis before his main event push, the highlight being Sionis pulling out a knife and stabbing a football that Gilbert kicked, much to the ire of at least half the 37 people in attendance at the time.

Since hitting small, I've brought in some new faces, including; Craig Pheonix and 'The Duo' tag pairing of Rusty Mills & Donovan Boon, who I've given outback gimmicks. I had 'The Drifters' tag member Mercenary (renamed Mabbo) already on the roster, so I brought in his other half Sinner, who is now Didge Redo, the aboriginal heels.

Need to bring in another worker or two to liven up my main event scene soon though as Sionis' reign begins...

Okay. the latest in the IWL.

It's March of 2013 and we have a new world champ in Bob Shrunkle. As champion, he's out to prove he's nobody's flunky and crush all who would dare challenge him. The current task he's undertaken towards that end is eliminating one of his former "victimizers" in Aleksandr Knyazev. Little does he know I'm considering bringing back the other.

That's right. Inaugural IWL World champion Ted Brady may be on his way back to the the company. First to feud with the man Shrunkle dethroned: Klaus Blut (Herman The German). And then on to Shrunkle.

The tag titles are now in the hands of The Firmament. Brother Haruhrio (Tsumemasa) and (Sozen) Ishino Mori. But since they are doing the Dynamic Duo split from DOTT, that reign won't last long. Those belts will be going to number one contenders, Warrior Pride (El Jefe Militar and El Orgulloso), while The Firmament feuds with each other.

Bob Casey and Kinji Akamatsu are doing the first Samoa Joe/Kurt Angle feud thanks to Sonfaro's story pack after Akamatsu tried going Loose Cannon on everybody and Casey put a stop to his rampage.

Finances are looking strong as I made a profit for the sixth month in a row and a pretty strong one as well. Just a shade over 4k. This in spite of the fact I just doled out my first contract that breaks my opening ceiling of 1k per show. That went to my referee Bradley Regan who's gone from a D- to a B+ in Refereeing in the two years I've had him. I hadn't intended to keep him at that price but I was testing to see how demanding when his starting point was that 1k ceiling. I'd been planning to let Regan walk and talk on someone like Will Tuddenham. But considering the rapid process Brad's made so far, I want to see how much longer it will take one of the big boys to notice and poach him. If I could make the profit I did despite Regan having the elevated pay rate all month, I see no harm in letting him continue to grow until he follows in the footsteps of precedessor Rob Perkins.

Nothing too exciting on the coming and going front. Did bring in Tombstone as a Tomkoesque flunky for Bob Shrunkle. Right now, Tombstone (or Tom Cody as I'm calling him) is working with Wez Dobberly as a tag team until I'm ready for Shrunkle to start using the two of them as his underlings. I figure them to be jobbers who dish out hitman type beatings for Shrunkle but manage little in the ring.

I just booked my first show under my created fed, International Tag Team Wrestling, and I have to say. I did pretty well for booking my first ever tag team only show. I have 18 tag teams and 2 stables.

The main event of the first show was The Kings of Wrestling versus The World's Greatest Tag Team for the ITTW World Tag Team titles and after 25 minutes The Kings of Wrestling won.

The Co-Main Event featured The American Wolves defeating London and Kendrick for the ITTW Non-Television Tag Team titles.

I'm doing good with heel tag teams, but I'm running a little short on faces. So I created the team of Sean Morley and El Generico as "Loco Bailarines de Canadá!" And I may make a stable out of it by signing Steve Lewington, but then I'd have to change the name...

Oh and a little nugget I had intended to mention in my update and forgot until Codey mentioned Mercutio Sleep being his Next Big Thing. The reason the Firmament is doing the Dynamic duo split is because I have (Sozen) Ishino Mori lined up for a big push. But things are about to get interesting because guess who just got pegged as a next big thread on the Internet? His partner. Brother Haruhiro. Methinks that feud just got kicked up a notch.

Wow... Bryan Vessey, just... wow.

He'd been criminally under-utilised in my game for quite a while, and just as I started getting him into a program, his contract came due.

Never had anybody try to fleece me that hard before. Not so much the amount, but the sheer number of options he wanted - and more than anybody else had asked for for merch/PPV bonuses.

Barely got the opportunity to haggle before he was storming out. I guess that's too bad. He's very good and isn't declining yet, but I didn't exactly feel like paying through the nose for him.

Ironically the very next day was my 100th show and 6th point in negotiating...

It's great to read about others success with their games. I used to be one of those people that can only play one game for 3 months and then get sick of it or frustrated and start all over.

Now I've pushed through that grind to have my longest game yet (and still going) with CZCW in November 2011.

Changes happen a lot at regional level, or so it happens to be with me:

Coastal Zone Champion: Champagne Lover

Coastal Zone Tag Team Champs: Blood & Water (Silver Shark & Teddy Powell)

Coastal Zone Xtreme: Kazuma Narato

I lost Al Coleman and Matt Sparrow since I basically used both of them as curtain jerkers for so long, they both left after being angry and not wanting to even talk to re-negotiate. Oh well... that used to really frustrated me but not letting that stuff get to me now.

I also just signed Trent Shaffer and American Elemental. Got a lot of good talent, looking to even snatch El Mitico Jr especially with the crazy A* stamina level!
