The C-Verse Re-render Project

Recommended Posts

Cheers Remi!

I've got a question for all the renderers:

What figures do you guys use for your renders?

I only ask as mine seem to have a different look from most peoples. I have been using Micheal4 so far, but there isn't a huge amount of free stuff around for it so I'm considering getting Micheal3, but will that vastly decrease the quality of my work?

I imagine most of us use Michael 4 these days. Michael 3 isn't too bad, I wouldn't recommend it for full body work, but for 150x150 TEW headshots it'll do the business. Still, if you're willing to spend any money, I'd go with Michael 4. It's constantly getting new bits and bobs released for it, and it's just better.

Point of interest, I'll be constantly updating my post on the front page with my renders (little ones only ;) ) Hopefully that'll take some of the pressure off of ewanite to keep the front page updated... with my stuff at least.

She looks anorexic, but that's my only real criticism. The skin tone plus the blue eyes create a really gorgeous image though.

I went off of this picture, so I guess she was anorexic before I got to her :D

ARRRRGGGHHHHH! For the second time I've been pipped at the post by someone way better at this than me!

My version of Melody

http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/4450/melody1.jpg

I kept the small gap in her front teeth and the bright red lipstick as those were really what stood out to me in her original render, but Trell's is way better.

EDIT: Just thought I'd say, when I'm knocking these up I tend to try and add the amount of years since they first debuted (render was created) to show their slow ageing. That's why Melody looks like she's in her early thirties :)

EDIT2: Don't bother putting this in a pic pack, I'm gonna withdraw it and chuck it in the TEW2010 Render thread ;)

... the Hell? As shiny as that original picture is, that is not the Melody I know and love! She's a fighter, not a strumpet!

On the subject of your far-more-apt render... If you're into a little customization of the gear, I always thought she'd be wearing some musical notes. Maybe pop a treble clef on her tights or shoulder straps. Otherwise, good stuff.

Her eyes actually look green in the pic dude.

...maybe cyan (green+blue), but definitely not straight-up blue.

Just nit-picky I guess.

Actually yeah you're kinda right Jaysin, on the big render her right arm (our left) looks dangerous devoid of mass.

Edit: Jesus, since when did Dan & Victoria Stone okay semi-p0rn shoots? :p

That was from the full body pose down set that Ed Royale did several years ago. It's on the C-Verse site.

Why can't she be both? :) Remember, in the land where wrestling is 'srs biznss', it's fairly common for female wrestlers to do complete magazines of glamour and "racy" shots (photobooks). Takako Inoue has more than a couple semi-nude, even (I'm not going to say whether I have them or not :p). So does Megumi Kudo, and you probably don't get more hardcore than her. :)

But Jaysin picked up on the only change I suggested from the first version of the render: darker skin. I wish I knew how Ed did the shiny skin (is that a texture or lighting?) as that seems to add a shade or two of color depth by itself. I didn't think the arms were that bad though. Saki Maemura (among many others) has arms like that, though perhaps a bit fleshier. I don't really fixate on the arms though since 99% of the time, it's not included in the actual cut.

But yeah, those arms are kinda bony. Still love it though! :)

Wait'll they get a load of Zoe. ;)

I use Mike/Hiro 4, Vickie/Stephanie/Aiko 4, and once in a while I'll use the 3rd Gens, MayaDoll/AnimeDoll, and Apollo Maximus once in a great while.

Cheers Remi!

That pokethrough on the hair/glasses gives her an anime-esque feel to her...in a good way. ;):D

Started life as someone completely different, but now...

COCO DE LA SOLIEL

http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p366/celdom/Full/CocoDeLaSoliel.png

Different outfit from my Lindsay Sugar, but then I hate that outfit, so I tried something new. I've just noticed the poke through on the hair & glasses, so that'll have to be fixed some other time. I'm all tuckered out.

As I said before (and in doing so may have dug up some worms) if someone has requests for alts of characters I've already done, I'm glad to hear them. I like them best when there's a booking reason behind them. The Red Dragon request earlier was perfect. "I want to book him as X, but he's not Y enough". I don't want suggestions of 'what might look good'. I want booking ideas. I'm limited by my imagination. I see characters 1, maybe 2 ways. The community has different ideas, which is great, because ideally I'd want 4 or 5 alts per character.

Shiny skin isn't too hard. Just play with the Specularity settings. I do it a lot with the outfits to give them a more plastic-y look. I'm not so big of the technique being used on skin, unless you're creating a character who is very sweaty... or in a wet t-shirt contest.

Maybe. What I mean is pretty much Ed's signature in that you can tell he did certain renders (with only a few exceptions) just by the way the skin looks. Is that specularity? What I've noticed is that no one else uses that (though J Silver has come close a few times). It's almost like the difference between cloth or microfiber and PVC, in appearance.

Someone, somewhere asked for masked Neptunes. With a little help from Self...

Self created the original render (obviously) and put them in white masks, I did the Neptune-ising of the pair. :D

In that case could you possibley do Scout & Guide in suits & sunglasses? I use them as The KGB with communist sympathiser gimmicks, along with Comrade Marat (Big Ruskie gimmick) as the stable monster & Comrade Rocky Golden as the group leader, I'd love to use your new renders instead of the old ones :D

And now you're under orders from me to redo the other two dragons, Dragon Americano, UK Dragon, and Canadian Dragon

Because that render is too amazing to let it stand alone

That is just a . . . sensational picture. Great work.

And great work from everyone else who has been doing these renders. I applaud each and every one of you.
