bigtplaystew
Hannibal's been killing it. Such a smart, good, intense show.
D-Lyrium
Excited for New Worlds (starting at 9pm Tuesday on C4 for those in the UK). Set in the late 1600s at the time when Charles II started being a dick and taking away all the freedoms that the English had won during the Civil War (the culmination of which was his father's execution and Oliver Cromwell seizing power, which er... yeah, oops). It also follows some of the original settlers in New England, when they killed a load of Native Americans. But the main theme of the show is supposedly the changes that four specific young characters on both sides of the Atlantic go through during the period, which should be pretty interesting (especially as one of them is one of my favourite young actors, Joe Dempsie (Chris from Skins/Gendry from Game of Thrones). Incidentally, James Cosmo (GoT's Lord Commander Mormont) pops up in it too). It's actually a sort of 'sequel' miniseries to The Devil's Whore, which was set during the (English) Civil War and somehow managed to star Peter Capaldi, Michael Fassbender, John Simm and Tim McInnery. Not surprisingly given that cast, it was really good. If you're of a historical drama persuasion, I'd recommend checking The Devil's Whore (The Devil's Mistress in America) out for sure. It's only a four-episode mini series.
BHK1978
I forgot to bring up The Goldbergs, it is a great comedy on ABC that is set in the 1980's which I think is worth a look.

Checking both out for sure.
BHK1978
I really like the new From Dusk to Dawn show. I loved the original movie (Though I hated the sequels.) so I was not sure if Robert Rodriguez would be able to transfer it into a television (After seeing that giant piece of dog crap known as Machete Kills, I lost a little faith in Robert Rodriguez) show but so far so good. It's officially added to my DVR quota now. Like I said, I'm a sucker for things set in the 80s or early to mid 90s, so there is that.</p><p> </p><p> I also like Chicago Fire and Chicago PD quite a lot as well. I like that those shows cross over with each other left, right, and center.</p>
Basmat01
after watching Agents of shield I think its really starting to finds its feet now and after watching Capt 2 Im excited to see what happends to the show and after watching last weeks show it looks like its already started. although I feel they should wait till the end of the season as to not give away spoilers for people who havernt seen the movie and as a cliff hanger i guess for next season. fullMETAL
Speaking of Chicago Fire/PD, I'm absolutely floored at the fact that Sophia Bush (Chicago PD) was on THREE different first-run episodes of different shows within a 24-hour period, and was probably the first actor to ever do so (Chicago Fire, then Law & Order: SVU, then Chicago PD). dvdWarrior
<p>I didn't think I'd be interested, but so far I haven't missed an episode of Game Of Arms. Pretty interesting show, I think.</p><p> </p><p> Also, I've been watching The 100 since it premiered, as well as an awful lot of Ultimate Spider Man.</p><p> </p><p> Sadly, my NBC affiliate went out on me tuesday night, some kind of disagreement with Dish, and I missed out on this week's Chicago Fire. It's back now, but I'm not sure when it came back for me. I missed Chicago PD and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as well, but I have no idea if I had to, or if I just didn't realize it was back already.</p><p> </p><p> I have to wait for replays either way. At least my Parenthood DVR is still intact.</p>
RKOwnage
Game of Thrones...what an episode. I read the books and even still I was floored.
The Final Countdown
Game of Thrones...what an episode. I read the books and even still I was floored. My power went out just as THAT was about to happen, and came back on right as THAT was ending. I was not amused. At least I'd read the books years ago and knew what happened...but the friend I watch with had that moment taken away from him. Stupid storm. Blackman
<p>Wow, can't determine what was more awesome: Game of Thrones 4x01 or Californication 7x01... God I love both series to death. </p><p> </p><p> I read a part of the 'current' book so I knew the ending of this episode. The interactions between Ramsey and his paps, as that happens way later in the book. Last season's Bolton material was also premature in a way. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

RayW
Just see the trailer for Gotham ( <div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="200" height="113" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/0d1zpt6k5OI?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="Official Extended Trailer | GOTHAM"></iframe></div></div>) and I have to say I'm very much excited for this. I'm a huge Batman mark and love anything based on or around the character (my favourite comic book character is Nightwing), and this looks fantastic. It starts later this fall, and I urge anyone with an interest in Batman to check out the trailer.
D-Lyrium
To be completely honest, Gotham looks pretty awful. ¬_¬ And it's on FOX, so they'll show the season 1 finale first, move it to Tuesday at 3AM, then cancel it because nobody watched. I'll stick to Arrow. In all seriousness though, I'm not getting my hopes up. Plus Catwoman looks at least 5 years older than Bruce Wayne. Which is just wrong. RayW
<p>Argh, I watched the first series of Arrow and at the end the only question I had in my head was "Why did I put myself through this"? I thought it started well, but it lost me after about six episodes.</p><p> </p><p> It being on Fox can be an issue as everyone knows how trigger happy they are, but I don't think it looks awful at all. With Catwoman being about five years older, again, I don't see an issue. I'd very much doubt there would be any romantic links between them in the series, as that doesn't occur until Bruce is Batman, and that clearly isn't going to happen in this series.</p>

Self
<p>I didn't want to like the Gotham trailer. The show sounds needless to me... but I kinda dug it. Looks like there's going to be a character and an arc in there, amongst all of the nudge-nudge-references. </p><p> </p><p> I also thought Arrow was a needless knockoff of Nolan's Batman films at first, but I really like the show now. I'm not all that sure why. A lot of elements bug me. A lot of bits are <em>almost</em> good, without really thrilling me. Yet I still enjoy it. This season's villain is awesome. </p><p> </p><p> Keeping to a superhero theme, I just watched the Agents of Shield season finale, and it REALLY ground my gears. It was so jokey. It pairs off characters with legitimate beefs, but instead of emotional dialogue exchanges to play off of those beefs, they just trade smug quips and wisecracks. None of the babyfaces show any fear of the heels. John Cena comes to mind... except Cena actually sells during matches, if not his promos.</p><p> </p><p> Excited for tomorrow, when I'll see if Arrow's finale is any better. If nothing else, that seems to have actual stakes.</p>
Truly
Starting to watch the anime "Attack On Titan" after hearing about it for the past year. Never read the manga so I was completely unprepared for what I was getting myself into... HOLY S**T. I'm usually numb to any violence, blood and gore of any sort from movies and tv shows; be it animated or live-action, it rarely EVER fazes me. After watching Attack On Titan however I'm just so unsettled though... I gotta keep watching though, this anime has received critical praise for a reason after all. The storyline and the atmosphere just captures you! An excellent mix of what 18th century gothic novelist Ann Radcliffe defined as horror versus terror: "one is physical, making you want to look away, and the other is intellectual, making you want to know what's going to happen next." Blackman
I completely missed that VIKINGS had its second season over the last few months. Awesome as now I could watch the whole thing in two evenings. I'd recommend it to anybody for the awesome acting, and to ("Old Gods"-scenario) CKII-players for some lore on Ragnar Lothbrok (in case you don't know the legend). Jaysin
Five minute Flash trailer for the new series. It looks incredible. I'm super behind on Arrow, but since they're taking place in the same universe I should probably get caught up. Flash and Green Arrow have always been two of my favorite DC Heroes, so this is definitely exciting.

It'll be a good way to introduce "metahumans" into Arrow as well. Eventually he'll have to fight legit super villains and not just humans dressed up as comic book bad guys. There's only so much a "mirakuru" storyline can do for ya creatively.</p>

OK, I think we can all agree that the "I think the lightning bolt chose you." line is really, really dumb. But I want to give the show the benefit of the doubt, because Flash was one of my favorite characters in Justice League. I just worry, since these are the same writers that made Deathstroke and Slade Wilson two different characters and gave Deathstroke...Deathstroke the name Billy Wintergreen. In other DC (well, more Vertigo) news, Hellblazer is getting a second chance, and it looks like this time, the creators actually care: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPE2oBnzROY

Did you stop watching Arrow because Billy Wintergreen was not Deathstroke? If you stopped watching I could understand why you would think he was, but if you kept watching you would know he wasn't.
