THE LEAGUE: SEASON FOUR, WEEK ELEVEN

Due to time constraints imposed on us by the network, we will cut right to the beginning of our first match. After all, we have about two and a half hours of wrestling to document!

Maxx Skabb (6-4, 7%) vs. Sean (8-2, 17%)

Avenged Sevenfold's "Nightmare" blares throughout the arena as spotlights begin to pan over the audience, as if looking for someone. A dim red light shines on the entryway, revealing a hulking figure making his way to ringside, with two more men hiding just at the fringes of the spotlight, their eyes never leaving the form of the big man. As the refrain hits, the spotlights immediately focus on him as white strobe lights flash on the entrance stage. He slides under the bottom rope, his orange jumpsuit a stark contrast to most of the clothing in the audience as the song fades into silence.

Amelia Williams: Our opening contest of the evening is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from the Orange County Correctional Facility, weighing 289 pounds...Maxx Skabb!

Tori Montgomery: Skabb comes in tonight two matches out of the Red Division lead. A win keeps him in the running; a loss opens the door for the leader to clinch next week.

Frankie Garnett: Oh, dear lord, anything but that!

Bob Sinclair: Skabb has a tough task ahead of him tonight, for certain.

Motley Crue's "Kickstart My Heart" hits the arena speakers as a spotlight shines down on the top of the ramp. Emerging from the back, the reigning League Champion emerges, gold belt gleaming in the spotlight as he throws a hand into the air, causing pyro to erupt from behind him in a manner of paparazzi photographing him. With a smirk, the champ slings the title belt over his shoulder and heads to the ring, the spotlight remaining on him the whole time.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, now residing in Los Angeles, California, weighing 230 pounds, he is the reigning and defending League Champion and the current Green Division leader..."Hollywood" Sean!

Bob Sinclair: Sean has looked rather dominant in his defense of the League Championship, as he enters tonight tied for the best record in The League this season.

Tori Montgomery: If the playoffs started tonight, he'd be the number three seed due to tie-breakers, but you can't deny the impact he's had this season.

Frankie Garnett: There's a reason they say "always bet on Sean," you know!

Bob Sinclair: The pressure is on Templeton now to remain in the hunt or be pushed to the brink of elimination!

Tori Montgomery: Skabb hasn't done himself any favors either; now he can only watch and hope he's not in that same position by the end of the night.

Scott Stevens (2-8, 8%) vs. Ezekial Kerghan (7-3, 19%)

The lights in the arena go pitch black, as red lasers and spotlights light up the area. The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen, "Nothing survives my sting!" The crowd starts booing as "End of Days" by Emphatic hits the speakers, and the man in question appears from the back and stops on the stage. As "The Venomous One" stares down his opponent with an icy glare he points to them, then he makes the throat slash gesture to them before he begins walking to the ring, being pelted by trash the whole way.

Amelia Williams: This contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Houston, Texas, weighing 265 pounds... "The Scorpion" Scott Stevens!

Tori Montgomery: Stevens has assured himself a losing season—the best he can do is 6-8 this season—but as of yet he's not out of the playoff hunt.

Bob Sinclair: I don't see a losing record making the playoffs, Tori. The talent pool isn't as thin as, say, the NBA.

Frankie Garnett: Just keep doubting, non-believers. Scorpion will make fools of you yet!

Escape the Fate's "This War is Ours" hits the arena speakers as The League's newest resident psychopath emerges and heads towards the ring, looking like he's having an argument with voices only he can hear.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from The Dog Pound, weighing 251 pounds, he is the Blue Division leader...Ezekial Kerghan!

Bob Sinclair: These two teamed up in this season's Tag team Turmoil, and were quickly eliminated by the Axis of Flavor.

Tori Montgomery: It's apparent why, Bob. Scorpion was the weak link. Look at the disparity in their records!

Frankie Garnett: It's called "conspiracy," Tori. Look it up.

Tori Montgomery: Speaking of conspiracy, it almost looked like Kerghan took a fall for Stevens!

Frankie Garnett: Lies! It was a clean win!

Bob Sinclair: Regardless, Stevens keeps his scant hopes alive for a playoff berth, and Kerghan is in danger of losing the Blue Division lead tonight!

Dante Lorenzo (6-4, 15%) vs. Benjamin T. Stanton, Jr. (4-6, 14%)

"Here Comes the Money" hits the speakers, as one of this season's rookies emerges from the back, with a beautiful woman hanging off his left arm. He pays no attention to the jeering fans, his attitude simply screaming "I'm better than you."

Amelia Williams: This contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Missy Callistra, from Providence, Rhode Island, weighing 224 pounds...Benjamin T. Stanton, Jr.!

Tori Montgomery: Right now, Stanton's basically fighting for a wild card berth—even with a win, he'd need Maynard to lose in order to not eliminate him from the Yellow Division title hunt.

Bob Sinclair: And given the roll that Maynard has been on, perhaps Stanton is doing the right thing in focusing on the Wild Card hunt.

Frankie Garnett: It's a wonder he's even remotely in this at all!

Three Days Grace's "Riot" hits the speakers to a chorus of jeers as the first Italian-born member of The League emerges from the back, ignoring the crowd in the arena as he mentally prepares for his upcoming match. Reaching the ring, he climbs up the steps and enters between the ropes, his face never losing a look of confident indifference.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Florence, Italy, weighing 291 pounds...Dante Lorenzo!

Bob Sinclair: Lorenzo has a shot to make up some ground in the Blue Division with Kerghan losing just minutes ago.

Tori Montgomery: Not to mention that going to 7-4 would solidify his standing in the wild card chase, Bob.

Frankie Garnett: Yeah, well put me in the "doesn't care" group.

Tori Montgomery: No one saw that coming, I'd think!

Diamond (5-5, 21%) vs. Robbie Maynard (8-2, 11%)

The opening riffs of Metallica's "Master of Puppets" hits the speakers, drawing a mixed reaction from the crowd as one of the League's initial playoff wrestlers emerges from the stage, bathed in a blue light shining beneath him. After pausing to mentally prepare himself, he walks to the ring, his eyes never leaving the squared circle as he climbs onto the apron and ducks between the ropes.

Amelia Williams: This bout is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Liverpool, England, weighing 251 pounds, the Yellow Division leader...Robbie Maynard!

Tori Montgomery: Maynard could be the first to punch a ticket to the playoffs, folks. A win tonight clinches the Yellow Division and at worst the number 5 seed when the playoffs roll around.

Frankie Garnett: "At worst, number 5?"

Tori Montgomery: A losing streak could happen, you know.

Frankie Garnett: Sure. And pigs will start flying.

"Don't Cha" hits the arena to a mixed reaction as The League's lone female member emerges from backstage. There is a confident smirk on her face as she talks trash with some of the louder fans before sprinting into the ring by diving under the bottom rope. As she stands, she proceeds to the corner nearest the announce table, hands thrown in the air as the soaks in the crowd reaction while her manager stands outside, also applauding her client.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, accompanied to the ring by Jayde, from Aberdeen, Scotland, weighing 137 pounds...Diamond!

Bob Sinclair: It falls to Diamond to play the role of spoiler this week. Not only would a win tie her with Dante Lorenzo in the Blue Division, but it would bolster her shot at a wild card berth.

Tori Montgomery: Right now, the hopes of the entire Yellow Division are on her shoulders, to try to keep them in the hunt.

Frankie Garnett: As if she cares about them. She's only worried about her own chances!

Pizza Mask III (4-6, 14%) vs. Ian Carlisle (2-8, 18%)

The theme to Samurai Pizza Cats, of all things, hits as Pizza Mask comes out on a scooter, with a pizza box strapped to the back, wearing a helmet with his pizza-design mask, his black polo shirt covered by a red t-shirt that simply says "You Can't Avoid the Noidsault!", and khaki pants, hopping off the scooter and unstrapping the pizza box, holding it up to the screen to show that it reads "Pain Pizza! BLACK DIVISION: Eidenhoek Gaiaspade (3-7, 19%) vs. Thor Hammerskald (5-5, 14%)

Amon Amarth's "Death in Fire" hits the speakers, to a decent ovation he emerges from backstage, looking every bit the part of a Viking warrior as he strides to the ring with a determined look on his face...and scattering some of the fans away from the entrance ramp as he turns to glare at them. The Phoenix (8-2, 18%) vs. Jack Lightning (3-7, 22%)

Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" hits the arena speakers as one of the original members of The League comes out, his wife in tow. He has a deadly serious look on his face as he shadowboxes on his way to the ring. As they reach ringside, she reaches up to give him a kiss on the cheek and gives him a slight shove towards the squared circle. He dives in under the bottom rope, coming to his feet with a war cry towards the heavens as he shifts his focus to the ring.

Amelia Williams: (opening) , being accompanied to the ring by Te'Snilo Bradenbury, from the End of Nowhere, weighing 337 pounds, he is the Red Division leader...this is The Phoenix!

Frankie Garnett: And now I'm sure you'll gush for a whole four minutes on how Squeamix here is the next big thing...right, Tori?

Tori Montgomery: Uh, no. All I will say is that a win puts him in the position to clinch his division next week.

Bob Sinclair: Frankie, man, get a grip. Jealousy is so unbecoming.

Frankie Garnett: Hey!

Linkin Park's "New Divide" hits the speakers as the first Canadian to enter The League emerges from the back, looking surprisingly at ease as he steps onto the ring apron and leaps over the top rope. Climbing onto the turnbuckles, he raises an arm in the air and drinks in the cheers of the crowd before dropping back to the mat and preparing for his match.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from London, Ontario, weighing 233 pounds...Jack Lightning!

Bob Sinclair: Jack needs this win in order to maintain what slim hopes he has of making the playoffs.

Bob Sinclair: With Thor winning earlier in the night—

Tori Montgomery: This is going to be a barnburner, guys.

Billy Idol's "Shock to the System" hits the speakers, bringing the crowd to their feet in ovation as one of the League's more recognizable faces emerges from backstage and across the green-tinted stage. As he hits the end of the entrance ramp, he throws his arms into the air, sending a pair of mushroom clouds into the air from the stage as he makes his way to the ring and through the ropes.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, weighing 278 pounds...Nuclear Templeton!

Tori Montgomery: Put simply, Templeton needs this match. A loss puts Sean in the same position that Phoenix is in—a win or a Templeton loss would seal the Green Division for Sean.

Is "The League" ready for the Tuesday Night Wars?

Colt Marshall, others prepare to make their mark on Tuesdays

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Following week eleven of the fourth season of the highly regarded "The League," League Commissioner Colt Marshall announced that starting next week, as a trial run for the fall TV season, their weekly Monday show would be held on Tuesdays, in direct competition with programs run by Supreme Wrestling Federation (SWF) and Total Championship Wrestling (TCW).

"We feel the time is right," Marshall stated during a press conference just concluded. "The League has grown by leaps and bounds in popularity since our inception just over a year ago. Both the League Owner and I feel that the time is right to test the waters, as it were, and see if The League can truly hang with the two big dogs of American pro wrestling."

The League, a "shoot" wrestling promotion where the matches are not pre-determined, has quickly grown to be a national name in the United States, with some recognition also coming worldwide thanks to the schedule The League keeps. Many insiders see The League jumping to Tuesday nights as being the wake-up call for SWF and TCW to improve their products, as well as a shot in the arm for the wrestling industry, which has been slowing down considerably as of late.

The League will go on-air at 8 PM Eastern (US) time, as it has during the last three-plus seasons of its existence.

SWF Owner Richard Eisen and TCW President Tommy Cornell could not be reached for comment as of the time of this article's printing.

And now the non-kayfabe reason:

With the NFL season underway, and with the D&D games that MLT and I are members of occurring on Sundays as well, plus not wanting to miss Raw due to trying to rush a show out, I thought it would be better in the long run for me to shift the schedules back a day. Thus, the show will now be posted on Tuesday evenings, Beyond Ringside on Wednesdays, and the normal deadlines pushed back a day to compensate.

Tl;dr version: In order to preserve my sanity on Sundays, I'm pushing things back a day for the foreseeable future in order to make things easier for me to work with.

Pizza Mask back to the video blogging!

"I'm gonna be a little serious here for a moment, so bear with me.

"First of all, I'm really grateful to the League staff for giving a silly backyarder from Florida a chance at the big time. I've been halfway around the world in the span of few weeks, and I never thought I'd be able to do that as a wrestler or otherwise.

I didn't expect to be given an easy ride, and well, I don't think anyone can dispute that I was given probably the toughest competition so far. I mean, look at Red Division. One of those things is not like the others... three legitimate stars... and me. I haven't even won a single division match yet, 0-5 with one more to go.

But, I'm 5-1 outside my division. And I'm still somehow in the running to actually make it to the playoffs. I beat the current League champion. And I've done better than anyone, even myself, could ever hope for.

When I was injured, I didn't go to the hospital because I didn't want to be forced out of the League. I have had a checkup recently... doctor says if I get another serious blow to the head, I'll be lucky to not get severe brain damage. I've been told to retire at the end of the season.

But you know what? I'm not going anywhere.

I am going to be League Champion. Probably not this season, maybe not even the next. But as sure as Scott Stevens smells like three week old anchovies, I WILL be champion eventually. Pizzamania is running WILD, brothers and sisters, and I'm taking my Pizza Wagon all over the world to make my way to the top!

...Okay, I don't really HAVE a Pizza Wagon. Not yet at least. But soon! By Noidsault, by Stuffed Crust Stunner, by Side Order of Breadsticks, by Anchovy Kick... EVERYONE WILL GET A TASTE OF PAIN PIZZA! Not even the Dark Salad Demon himself can stop me now!

Before I go, I want to give a shout out and a happy belated birthday to the number one Pizza Girl, Tori Montgomery.

And now to go Japan and find Sailor Moon so she can teach me the Moon Tiara Action so I can beat Dante Lorenzo! KA-KOW!"

Really, two Slamburgers didn't finish the match? I have the worst god damn luck. I'm gonna get a submission finisher solely for the fact those appear to actually work. :(

Is it coming???? Oh yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ON THE BUBBLE:

Scott Stevens, Jack Lightning, Eidenhoek Gaiaspade: If any of these three lose, they eliminate themselves mathematically from the wild card hunt. Depending on other matches, they could be eliminated even if they wins.

THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE

TOYAMA, JAPAN (JAPAN—CHUBU)

(Strict Rules Enforcement, Ref Bumps Allowed, Strong Style match)

This will be The League's first visit to this specific area of Japan, and I've been informed that Toyama is expecting a mass influx of visitors for not only our debut there, but also as a regular feature on Tuesdays. Let's take a look at the card, shall we?

Ian Carlisle (2-9, 8%) vs. Johnny Triumph (7-4, 15%)

Career Series: Ian Carlisle, 1 - 0 (4.000 AMR)

All of my prediction models have Triumph winning this, despite Carlisle having the series lead.

Tori's Pick: Johnny Triumph

Diamond (5-6, 15%) vs. Eidenhoek Gaiaspade (3-8, 11%)

Career Series: First Meeting

I think Diamond has this one in the bag. Gaius is fighting solely for pride here, and I don't think he can fend off someone who is still in the thick of the playoff hunt.

Tori's Pick: Diamond

Pizza Mask III (5-6, 11%) vs. Dante Lorenzo (6-5, 17%)

Career Series: First Meeting

I'm basing this one on one simple fact. Pizza Mask is undefeated (2-0) when entering the match as a 4 to 6 point underdog.

Tori's Pick: Pizza Mask III

GREEN DIVISION: Sean (9-2, 15%) vs. Jack Lightning (3-8, 13%)

Career Series: Jack Lightning, 1 - 0 (0.000 AMR)

By rights, this should be Sean's match: he is nigh undefeatable in the fourth quarter of a season, not to mention his record as a slight favorite. Plus, he's attempting to win the Green Division outright. I think Lightning is going to pull a stunning upset and shock a lot of people.

Tori's Pick: Jack Lightning

The Phoenix (9-2, 15%) vs. Ezekial Kerghan (7-4, 14%)

Career Series: Tied, 1 - 1 (3.000 AMR)

A battle of two division leaders, with one of them having a chance to lock his division up. All of my numbers point to Phoenix, and unlike Sean's situation, Phoenix will avoid the drama of waiting a week or two to clinch and will take care of business this week.

Tori's Pick: The Phoenix

CAGE MATCH: Tarik Nolan (5-6, 15%) vs. SGRaaize (5-6, 15%)

Career Series: SGRaaize, 2 - 1 (3.333 AMR)

Much like another match earlier, one stat decides me: Raaize has only won 33% of the matches he's been in when he has equal popularity of his opponent. Tarik has won 54% of those matches.

Tori's Pick: Tarik Nolan

RED DIVISION: Maxx Skabb (6-5, 15%) vs. Scott Stevens (3-8, 15%)

Career Series: Maxx Skabb, 2 - 0 (1.333 AMR)

As much as it pains me, I'm picking Stevens and here's why. Stevens is 4-1 (80%) when entering at equal popularity. Skabb, on the other hand? 10-13 (43%). That's a significant difference.

Tori's Pick: Scott Stevens

Master Imoka (5-6, 16%) vs. Robbie Maynard (9-2, 15%)

Career Series: First Meeting

Maynard has his divisional title; I would not be surprised to see Imoka catch Maynard resting on his laurels, as it were.

Tori's Pick: Master Imoka

Nuclear Templeton (6-5, 15%) vs. Benjamin T. Stanton, Jr. (5-6, 18%)

Career Series: First Meeting

Even if Sean throws my prediction off earlier, Nuclear will still be playing for a playoff spot in the wild card area. Granted, Stanton has been surprising in hanging tough in the standings, but this is where Nuclear will begin to assert himself for a playoff run.

Tori's Pick: Nuclear Templeton

Rannulf von Krüshengberg (4-7, 22%) vs. Thor Hammerskald (6-5, 15%)

Career Series: First Meeting

Thor has proven to be comfortable coming back from this large a popularity defecit. I think he'll find a way to manage it again this week, and keep the Black Division race close.

Tori's Pick: Thor Hammerskald

With three weeks remaining in season four, who will begin their push to The League's grandest prize? Until Tuesday night, folks, this is Tori Montgomery...so long from ringside!

Ian Carlisle (2-9, 8%) vs. Johnny Triumph (7-4, 15%)

Diamond (5-6, 15%) vs. Eidenhoek Gaiaspade (3-8, 11%)

Pizza Mask III (5-6, 11%) vs. Dante Lorenzo (6-5, 17%)

GREEN DIVISION: Sean (9-2, 15%) vs. Jack Lightning (3-8, 13%)

The Phoenix (9-2, 15%) vs. Ezekial Kerghan (7-4, 14%)

CAGE MATCH: Tarik Nolan (5-6, 15%) vs. SGRaaize (5-6, 15%)

RED DIVISION: Maxx Skabb (6-5, 15%) vs. Scott Stevens (3-8, 15%)

Master Imoka (5-6, 16%) vs. Robbie Maynard (9-2, 15%)

Nuclear Templeton (6-5, 15%) vs. Benjamin T. Stanton, Jr. (5-6, 18%)

Rannulf von Krüshengberg (4-7, 22%) vs. Thor Hammerskald (6-5, 15%)

Ian Carlisle (2-9, 8%) vs. Johnny Triumph (7-4, 15%)

Triumph to roll the struggling Carlisle

Diamond (5-6, 15%) vs. Eidenhoek Gaiaspade (3-8, 11%)

What is happening with Diamond this year , almost made it to the championship last year, now struggling? Anyway should win here.

Pizza Mask III (5-6, 11%) vs. Dante Lorenzo (6-5, 17%)

Lorenzo to squash Pizza Mask III :p

GREEN DIVISION: Sean (9-2, 15%) vs. Jack Lightning (3-8, 13%)

Sean's got to be looking to avenge that loss

The Phoenix (9-2, 15%) vs. Ezekial Kerghan (7-4, 14%)

Ezekial to win in the MOTN

CAGE MATCH: Tarik Nolan (5-6, 15%) vs. SGRaaize (5-6, 15%)

SGRaaize still lives! and I'm a mark for SGRaaize ;)

RED DIVISION: Maxx Skabb (6-5, 15%) vs. Scott Stevens (3-8, 15%)

History says that Maxx Skabb tends to choke towards the business end of the season. With that being said, a Stevens win would mean Phoenix clinches a playoff spot, but the wildcard would become more interesting.

Master Imoka (5-6, 16%) vs. Robbie Maynard (9-2, 15%)

Imoak to rebound and score the upset after a rough few weeks

Nuclear Templeton (6-5, 15%) vs. Benjamin T. Stanton, Jr. (5-6, 18%)

It's time for Nuclear to pick up the pace or he may miss out on playoffs, despite having the best record last year (I think :o)

Rannulf von Krüshengberg (4-7, 22%) vs. Thor Hammerskald (6-5, 15%)

Thor seems to be cherry picking this week against Krüshengberg, who has been in 2 wars in the last month and surely would be on his last set of legs for the season.

This wounds me, Sean. Your truthfulness is painful to my Skabb loving soul. lol That's not true, the truth of it wounds my Skabb loving soul. Overgrown criminalistic suckwad is all he is. (And thus the tradition continues ...) Next season, I'm cutting Skabb, and creating a whole new character ... gonna call him Clutch, so maybe he knows how to win during the final 8 weeks of the season. Throw Maxx in prison for juggling midgets or something. :p

Also, Flogg would like to apologize for the inconsistency of the Splash, but he's still off in Mexico, living in a rundown hacienda with his mamacita Juanita, who is is fairly certain is actually a female, and not a Brazilian dude in drag. Or I may be trying desperately to make the Giants a winning team in Madden ... and having as much luck as Flogg is at finding out Juanita's gender.

Nooooo. Say it ain't so? :(

Surely Maxx would have some form of connections from inside? Like a Con-Artist manger who convinces Maxx that he is clutch, or Maxx could just meltdown, come down with multiple personality disorder (like Mick Foley/Al Snow) or find religion (or invent one) or something like that.

If not, Clutch is a pretty decent name I suppose :p

That threat has been around since the inception of the League. Every season, I find some creative way to incarcerate Skabb, so I can start over, and every season, he returns. Although, between the playoff loss last season, and the inevitable crash and burn this season ... the going crazy and talking to some inanimate object for enlightenment could be fun.

I need to ponder this. lol No worries, though, the only person with more orange on his body than Snooki will return next season. :p
