BLACK DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Johnny Triumph (9-4, 26%) vs. Thor Hammerskald (8-5, 30%)

These picks have been really hastily done... I hate doing that but if I will keep forgetting to do this on days where I have time then that's my bad. Hoping to wrap up the predictions title AND a wild card spot in one show... and then hoping for a rematch of last year's final so that Nuclear can claim the title he was so close to winning. "Hollywood" Sean should never be allowed to win with a name like... Sean. Sean Who?! :p

This just in:

@LeagueToriM: Not even a quarter of the show done, nearly 90 minutes of wrestling.

@LeagueToriM: Get ready, folks; things are gonna explode tonight! #Season4Finale

That said, a question for the players at large:

If you remember the end of last season, I did some PhotoShop stuff to keep track of the playoff picture after each match that necessitated it. I'm planning to do the same for this show, but the matches so far may not allow it. (Not to mention that I'll lose about an hour and a half tomorrow walking to go pick my car up from the repair shop for the second time in four months.)

So, here's the question: would y'all rather have the show up on time and have no visual aids for the playoff hunt, or would you accept the one-day delay in order for me to have the time needed to do everything the way I did last season?

I'll abide by the majority decision.

You mean the between match goodness, where we saw viable outcomes leading to who's in and who's out?

I dug it, but I'm okay either way. I can't, in good conscious, ask you to do more work, that's craziness. I can beg you to fix matches so I win, no problem, but I'm good with this either way. So long as Maxx wins ... capiche?

Oh wait, there needs to be a veiled mafioso threat in there ... darn it, I did it all wrong again! I'll never get to be Godfather now!

Seeing as how I'm not going to be in the playoffs, best I abstain. Personally, I just wanna see if Rannulf actually lasts more than three minutes this time against Maynard.

However, I won't let that stand in the way of those goin' to the big show from gettin' all the bells and whistles and leprechaun pancreases... pancreai? they've earned (if they want it).

When I see that word, all I can think is "Prophal House"... or, well, "Prophle House" or even "Proffle House".

Who doesn't want to go break their fast at the Awful Prophle?

When the Splash returns, and it inevitably will ... he just got a new hangout. lol

I'll always vote for matchy goodness. Graphics are nice, but I'd rather be able to see the show before I get ready to go to sleep.

Seeing as that's the only real vote so far, guess you're the majority. :p

I'm still slogging through that one near-hour-long match, so it'll still likely be an hour or so at most before I'm done. But I reckon the show will be up tonight at some point.

Well, since my car didn't get ready to be picked up, I had an extra hour to use and spent it on graphics. Thus, you get everything at once.

THE LEAGUE: SEASON FOUR, WEEK FOURTEEN

Once more, the massive display of pyro goes off, signaling the start of what promises to be an eventful show as we head right to the ring to get this extravaganza underway.

BLACK DIVISION: Eidenhoek Gaiaspade (3-10, 10%) vs. SGRaaize (5-8, 19%)

Disturbed's "Indestructible" hits the arena as one of this season's rookies emerges from the back, looking surprisingly at ease despite the hard beat of the song. Jumping onto the apron from the floor, he steps between the ropes and calmly waits waits for the bell to get the match underway.

Amelia Williams: Our opening contest of the night is a Black Division match scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from the Island of Tria, weighing 205 pounds...Eidenhoek Gaiaspade!

Bob Sinclair: Good evening, everyone, and welcome to the final week of the regular season! Bob Sinclair here at ringside with Frankie Garnett and Tori Montgomery, and we're getting right to the action this week as it promises to be a doozy of a show!

Tori Montgomery: Nine matches tonight have potential playoff implications, this one being the exception in the group.

Bob Sinclair: So we're getting the boring stuff out of the way early so we can get to Scorpion beating the holy hell out of Phoenix? I approve!

A Portugesa hits the speakers to a rousing chorus of jeers as the Tron displays the national flag of Portugal. Emerging from the entryway, he turns to salute his homeland's flag before calmly walking to the ring, ignoring the fans as he slides into the ring and bounces off the ropes a couple of times to stretch.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Torres Vedras, Portugal, weighing 231 pounds...SGRaaize!

Bob Sinclair: This may well be the final hurrah for SGRaaize, who remains very tight-lipped about his future in or out of The League.

Tori Montgomery: Meanwhile, look at Gaius on the opposite side of the ring. He's determined to end the season on a high note, and knocking off a League Original in Raaize will go a long way towards that.

RED DIVISION FIRST BLOOD MATCH: Scott Stevens (5-8, 12%) vs. The Phoenix (10-3, 15%)

The lights in the arena go pitch black, as red lasers and spotlights light up the area. The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen, "Nothing survives my sting!" The crowd starts booing as "End of Days" by Emphatic hits the speakers, and the man in question appears from the back and stops on the stage. As "The Venomous One" stares down his opponent with an icy glare he points to them, then he makes the throat slash gesture to them before he begins walking to the ring, being pelted by trash the whole way.

Amelia Williams: This is a First Blood contest in the Red Division! Introducing first, from Houston, Texas, weighing 265 pounds... "The Scorpion" Scott Stevens!

Bob Sinclair: Everyone who cried conspiracy the last time these two faced off in a first blood match will be watching this one intently.

Tori Montgomery: Nonetheless, Stevens looks ready for war tonight.

He has a deadly serious look on his face as he shadowboxes on his way to the ring. As they reach ringside, she reaches up to give him a kiss on the cheek and gives him a slight shove towards the squared circle. He dives in under the bottom rope, coming to his feet with a war cry towards the heavens as he shifts his focus to the ring.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, being accompanied to the ring by Te'Snilo Bradenbury, from the End of Nowhere, weighing 337 pounds, the Red Division Champion...this is The Phoenix!

Frankie Garnett: I know it's wrong of me to say this, but if there is a God in Heaven, I beg you...please make sure this lump can't physically make it to Beijing next week!

Tori Montgomery: Frankie! How can you say that?!

Frankie Garnett: Simple! If he can't make it, it's one less person between Thor and the League Championship!

YELLOW DIVISION: Rannulf von Krüshengberg (5-8, 19%) vs. Robbie Maynard (9-4, 19%)

The opening to Rammstein's "Mein Teil" hits the speakers as the largest member of The League emerges, causing everyone with something that could even remotely be considered food to get away from the entranceway as quickly as possible for fear of losing their food...and at least a body part or two.

Amelia Williams: This is a Yellow Division match scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from der Schwarzwald, Deutschland, weighing 421 pounds..."Der Panzer" Rannulf von Krüshengberg!

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Liverpool, England, weighing 251 pounds, the Yellow Division Champion...Robbie Maynard!

Bob Sinclair: Maynard is going to the playoffs for the third time in his four-season League career; is this the season he goes all the way?

GREEN DIVISION: Master Imoka (6-7, 22%) vs. Sean (10-3, 12%)

Slayer's "Angel of Death" blasts from the arena speakers as one of this season's rookies emerges from the back, staring a hole through the ring as if by doing so, he can change it to his preferred medium of a martial arts mat. As he gets to ringside, he quickly lashes out and kicks the top half of the steel steps off the bottom half, snarling as he slides into the ring and stands motionless, waiting for the bell to sound.

Amelia Williams: This is a Green Division contest scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from the Isle of Samoa, weighing 214 pounds...Master Imoka!

GREEN DIVISION: Nuclear Templeton (8-5, 17%) vs. Jack Lightning (3-10, 20%)

Linkin Park's "New Divide" hits the speakers as the first Canadian to enter The League emerges from the back, looking surprisingly at ease as he steps onto the ring apron and leaps over the top rope. Bob Sinclair: Templeton's more than capable of handling his own business; he's no stranger to the playoffs, after all.

BLUE DIVISION: Diamond (7-6, 11%) vs. Ian Carlisle (2-11, 10%)

"Not a Stranger to the Danger" blares through the arena as one of last season's rookies steps into the arena, a look of determination on his face. A moment later, he sprints towards the ring, sliding in under the bottom rope and heading to a corner to appeal to the fans.

Amelia Williams: This bout is scheduled for one fall in the Blue Division! Introducing first, from Blackpool, England, weighing 222 pounds...Ian Carlisle!

Bob Sinclair: Will the third season be a charm for Carlisle?

Tori Montgomery: It certainly cannot get much worse than this one, Bob.

Frankie Garnett: Sure it could! How does 0-14 sound?

"Don't Cha" hits the arena to a mixed reaction as The League's lone female member emerges from backstage. There is a confident smirk on her face as she talks trash with some of the louder fans before sprinting into the ring by diving under the bottom rope. As she stands, she proceeds to the corner nearest the announce table, hands thrown in the air as the soaks in the crowd reaction while her manager stands outside, also applauding her client.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, accompanied to the ring by Jayde, from Aberdeen, Scotland, weighing 137 pounds, she is one-half of the reigning Tag Team Turmoil champions...Diamond!

Tori Montgomery: Diamond's got the toughest road to the playoffs. She needs a win and a huge amount of help.

YELLOW DIVISION: Tarik Nolan (7-6, 13%) vs. Benjamin T. Stanton, Jr. (5-8, 20%)

"Here Comes the Money" hits the speakers, as one of this season's rookies emerges from the back, with a beautiful woman hanging off his left arm. He pays no attention to the jeering fans, his attitude simply screaming "I'm better than you."

Amelia Williams: This bout is scheduled for one fall in the Yellow Division! Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Missy Callistra, from Providence, Rhode Island, weighing 224 pounds...Benjamin T. Stanton, Jr.!

Tori Montgomery: No doubt his opponent is well aware of that fact.

Frankie Garnett: I wouldn’t be so sure....

"Regulate" hits the speakers, immediately drawing the ire of the crowd as a large figure stands in the entryway, backlit by a clear spotlight. Pyro explodes on the stage, causing the light to shut off as the figure finally emerges onto the stage proper. Laughing at the boos hurled in his direction, he takes his time walking to the ring and subsequently entering it for his next match.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Shreveport, Louisiana, weighing 292 pounds...Tarik Nolan!

Tori Montgomery: A win here gives him room to get in, plus it knocks Diamond and possibly Maxx Skabb out of the playoff picture.

RED DIVISION: Maxx Skabb (7-6, 20%) vs. Pizza Mask III (5-8, 17%)

The theme to Samurai Pizza Cats, of all things, hits as Pizza Mask comes out on a scooter, with a pizza box strapped to the back, wearing a helmet with his pizza-design mask, his black polo shirt covered by a red t-shirt that simply says "You Can't Avoid the Noidsault!", and khaki pants, hopping off the scooter and unstrapping the pizza box, holding it up to the screen to show that it reads "Pain Pizza! Now With 100% Real Cheese!" before he heads to the ring. As he enters the ring itself, he pulls off the Noidsault T-shirt and tosses it into the crowd, getting ready for the match.

Amelia Williams: This is a Red Division match scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Your Friendly Neighborhood Pizzeria, weighing 199 pounds...Pizza Mask III!

Frankie Garnett: At least he's coming out here focused this week. I think Thor taught him that lesson rather well, don't you?

Bob Sinclair: I called it a bit out of hand, but whatever suits you, Frankie.

Frankie Garnett: Damn straight!

Avenged Sevenfold's "Nightmare" blares throughout the arena as spotlights begin to pan over the audience, as if looking for someone. A dim red light shines on the entryway, revealing a hulking figure making his way to ringside, with two more men hiding just at the fringes of the spotlight, their eyes never leaving the form of the big man. As the refrain hits, the spotlights immediately focus on him as white strobe lights flash on the entrance stage. He slides under the bottom rope, his orange jumpsuit a stark contrast to most of the clothing in the audience as the song fades into silence.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from the Orange County Correctional Facility, weighing 289 pounds...Maxx Skabb!

Tori Montgomery: With Nolan losing, the road becomes easier for Skabb. A win knocks Diamond out of the picture, and then his fate would hang in the balance of our next match. A loss and his season is over.

Frankie Garnett: He's as bad as Tarik Nolan in pressure situations, Tori. He'll crumple too, mark my words.

BLACK DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Johnny Triumph (9-4, 26%) vs. Thor Hammerskald (8-5, 30%)

A remixed version of "Ecstasy of Gold" hits the speakers, which is nearly drowned out in jeers as he emerges from the entryway. Instead of taking the steps closest to him, he walks around to the opposite side of the ring, drawing in more jeers as he finally climbs the steps and enters the ring.

Amelia Williams: This is our main event of the evening, and is for the Black Division Championship! Introducing first, from Des Moines, Iowa, weighing 228 pounds...Johnny Triumph!

Tori Montgomery: A funny thing I just noticed, Bob. If Triumph wins tonight, he will be facing Thor again next week in the opening round of the playoffs!

Bob Sinclair: I doubt he's thinking that far ahead, Tori. He wants to make sure he wins this match and the division before worrying about who is next.

Amon Amarth's "Death in Fire" hits the speakers, to a decent ovation he emerges from backstage, looking every bit the part of a Viking warrior as he strides to the ring with a determined look on his face...and scattering some of the fans away from the entrance ramp as he turns to glare at them. Behind him, his manager/League color commentator can be see giving him encouragement as the Viking enters the confines of the squared circle.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, being accompanied to the ring by Frankie Garnett, from Oslo, Norway, weighing 310 pounds...Thor Hammerskald!

Tori Montgomery: For Thor, a win locks him into the #3 seed, garnering him a first-round match against the always-dangerous Nuclear Templeton.

Above are the brackets for this season's playoffs.

Now, because of the way I had the League set up in terms of doling out Wrestling Spirit points, the entire bracket is not shown. The losers of the quarterfinal matches get dropped into a mini-bracket designed to separate 5th through 8th. So instead of trying to make everyone work out the brackets themselves, I've come up with the following:

LINK TO SEASON FOUR PLAYOFF PREDICTION SHEET

This spreadsheet will allow you to choose your winners, and it will fill out the brackets and determine who finishes where according to your picks. All you then need to do is copy/paste the yellow cells to a reply box here and post, and that's it.

I will ask that everyone please not edit any of the other cells except for the green-highlighted ones, so that everyone who wishes to predict can use this tool without problems.

I will be updating pages tomorrow, and will likely hold off on Beyond Ringside until Friday while I debate my picks for the postseason.

Well, 6-8... I'll take that for my rookie year, especially considering how many matches were lost either to constant Slamburger failures and/or going into the match a physical wreck.

And really, I beat Scorpion: I'd be happy with just that. (Someday Pizza Mask III will know that joy!) Next season, Rannulf reaches 500... pounds or in his win/lose record, whichever.

Grats to the playoff bound folks. Dante, feast upon their tears like they were chocolate covered (and filled) grapes dangled by a beautiful woman.... or three beautiful women. Then The League, over the entire offseason, will savor... the Axis of Flavor.

I was all ready to get excited ... until I remembered last season, when Maxx slid into the playoffs, and faced Sean in the first round. A 3-0 record against Sean, and he beat me like I owed him money.

But this season will be different ... he'll beat me like I stole his money. :p

I get the distinct feeling both are frequently true regarding Maxx.

Spreadsheet is not working for me at all. But this should work for me:

Eighth: Dante Lorenzo

Seventh: Nuclear Templeton

Sixth: Johnny Triumph

Fifth: Maxx Skabb

Fouth: Robbie Maynard

Third: The Phoenix

Runner-Up: Sean

Winner: Thor Hammerskald

Just went in to check and it worked fine. Odd.

Did you try clicking the small box with an arrow next to the green cells? I have pull-down menus in each of those boxes that will give you the valid choices for each match based on your previous picks.

So Maxx also works at a Denny's in Hell with Chris Benoit?!

I'm not saying he doesn't, I'm not saying he does ... but yes, yes he does. lol

I was trying to type in my answers ... drop boxes are smarter than I am. It also kept saving on me ... not sure if it'd have carried over, so I had to go back and remove my answers. lol

8th Place: Nuclear Templeton (9-5, 26%)

7th Place: Robbie Maynard (9-5, 32%)

6th Place: Sean (11-3, 33%)

5th Place: Johnny Triumph (10-4, 30%)

4th Place: The Phoenix (10-4, 38%)

3rd Place: Dante Lorenzo (9-5, 25%)
