WCW Fall Brawl: War Games

Sunday, September Week 3, 1995

Live on PPV from Kemper Arena in Kansas City, MO

Attendance: 15,000 (Sellout)

Fall Brawl gets started with an opening video showing highlights from the eight men that will be stepping into the double cage. The Dungeon of Doom’s crusade to wipe Hulkamania from the face of the planet is shown. The Taskmaster is portrayed as an evil genius who is gathering his monsters around him to take a run at destroying Hulk Hogan and his friends tonight. The video shows that tonight is the best chance The Taskmaster and his minions have had to do away with Hogan as they will be locked in a double cage with the World Champion, Sting, Lex Luger and Randy Savage. The video concludes with Taskmaster saying that The Giant will break Hogan’s neck tonight!

The Nasty Boys vs. The Blue Bloods

The opening match of Fall Brawl saw a tag team match that could have big implications on the Tag Team Title scene. With the title match later tonight these two teams are looking for respect. The fans were on the Blue Bloods for the whole match as they made it known that they thought they were much better than them. As they controlled the onset of the match they taunted not only their opponents, they taunted the fans as well. The Nasty’s had them outmatched in power, but Regal and Eaton knew this as they used a very technically sound attack to keep Sags and Knobbs apart for a great deal of time.

The fans were having enough of the Blue Bloods and started chanting for the Nasty Boys, and this support really got them back on top of their game. Knobbs and Sags started smashing Regal and Eaton’s heads off anything they could find, and the tide of the match really turned. That all came crashing down when Regal hit a chop block on Sags, then locked in the Regal Stretch. Knobbs ran in and broke it up before a submission could happen, and then an all-out brawl broke out. The result of this brawl saw Eaton get thrown out of the ring, then The Nasty Boys hit the Trip to Nastyville on Regal to get the victory.

Jim Duggan vs. Big Bubba Rogers

This match was all about revenge for Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Duggan and Rogers met a few weeks ago with Rogers cheating to win, then attacking Duggan after the match. This scene was repeated when after one of Duggan’s matches Rogers appeared and attacked him from behind again. Duggan wasn’t messing around in this match as he charged right at Rogers, but Big Bubba wasn’t ready to lockup yet and constantly stuck his body out of the ropes to keep Hacksaw away. The referee warned to DQ Rogers for his tactics, and this finally caused a lockup more than a minute and a half into the match. The fans were very excited when Duggan dropped Rogers on his back with several strong blows and a bodyslam in the middle of the ring.

Duggan may have been lulled into a false sense of security, because Rogers grabbed him and took him down when Hacksaw approached him. Rogers then showed why he’s a premier brawler in WCW as he unloaded with everything he had on Duggan. Hacksaw looked like he was out on his feet as Rogers continue to beat on him for several minutes. The ending came when Rogers motioned to the fans that it was over, then whipped off Duggan for the Sidewalk Slam. Duggan lowered his shoulder though and blasted Rogers, stunning him. Duggan then backed up and got in the three point stance, then exploded towards Big Bubba, driving him down and pinned him to get his revenge and the victory.

World Television Championship Match

The Renegade © vs. Diamond Dallas Page w/ Diamond Doll

Diamond Dallas Page came into this match ultimately confident, and many people though that The Renegade would put him in his place. It certainly looked this way as Renegade stormed towards the ring and didn’t waste any time as he tackled Page right when he entered the ring and it was time to do war. Page was constantly backpedaling as The Renegade only has one speed, full blast straight forward. The crowd was very amused as Page was running for his life as Renegade was hitting him with his wild offense. A chase then ensued as DDP ran to the outside and Renegade gave chase around the ring.

The foot race entered the ring a few times as DDP was doing everything he could to stay away from the Television Champion. He showed why people have been very impressed with his cunning style though as he attacked Renegade right when he reentered the ring. Page signaled for the Diamond Cutter, but Renegade powered out of it, then went for the Gorilla Press. Page fell behind Renegade, and when the TV Champion turned around Page had a smile on his face and spiked him with the Diamond Cutter to pick up the victory and win the Television Champion.

The camera goes backstage, where The Taskmaster is standing in the interview area, with The Giant standing behind him, dwarfing the leader of the Dungeon of Doom.

Gene Okerlund

I’m here with The Taskmaster and The Giant. Taskmaster, tonight you have the opportunity to prove all you’ve said recently about Hulk Hogan as you and your men will be locked in a cage with the World Heavyweight Champion and his team. What do you think your chances are of ending Hulkamania tonight?

The Taskmaster

Hahaha, really Gene? What do you think my chances are of ending Hulkamania tonight? I thought that one was a forgone conclusion. Take a look at this man standing behind me right now. The Giant is out for revenge just as much as I am. Sure I hate Hulk Hogan as much as the next guy, but I need not remind you that he was responsible for my giant friend here father’s death. You had to know that you would get what was coming to you for destroying the legacy and lifeliehood of a man you called friend in Andre the Giant. Well the son has arrived to avenge his father Hogan, and tonight, Hulkamania dies!!!

Chris Benoit vs. Flyin’ Brian

Everybody knew this match was going to be a barnburner and they were very excited for it from the beginning. The crowd was mostly split between the two men, they seemed more excited for this fast paced match and cheered whenever a big move was hit by either of the men. The match started with arm drags and takedowns all over the place, there was even a lengthy criss cross as they ran the ropes. Brian had enough of this though and threw the technical match out the window as he started pounding away on Benoit. This allowed him to open up his high risk playbook as he bounced all over the ring attacking Benoit.

Benoit looked good in his first match back in WCW, but things weren’t looking as good for him in this match. He struggled to do anything with Brian’s flying style, but he saw a window and capitalized as he met Brian up top and superplexed him off the top rope. Benoit tried several pinfalls on Brian, but none of them were successful. He then locked him in the Crippler Crossface, but Brian was able to escape the hold via a rope break. Benoit motioned that this was the end and headed up top and flew off for the Flying Headbutt, but Brian rolled out of the way and Benoit headbutted the mat. Flyin’ Brian then rolled him up in a complicated maneuver and the referee counted to three, giving Brian the match.

World Tag Team Championship Match

The American Males © vs. Harlem Heat w/ Sister Sherri

The American Males came down to the ring to a huge ovation as they held their newly won titles high in the air for all to see. Harlem Heat looked very focused on wrestling away the titles from Bagwell and Riggs, but they would have to have a special effort to beat the Males in their first ever title defense. The action saw the physically superior Harlem Heat dominate the early going, but The American Males were riding their momentum and wouldn’t take a beating from anybody on this night. They used great double teams and were looking very sharp as the crowd was very pleased to see them doing so well.

Things looked to be wrapped up for the American Males when Riggs tried his bridging fisherman’s suplex on Stevie Ray, but he couldn’t hit the bigger man with the move. Stevie then unloaded on Riggs, and he and Booker T started a double team string of moves of their own. Harlem Heat had shifted the momentum into their corner for awhile, but it swung once again when Bagwell got a hot tag in and started clean house. Bagwell then looked to put it away as he had Booker T set up perfectly for Blockbuster. But as Bagwell was standing on the second rope waiting for Booker to stand up Booker pulled the referee in close, distracting him. This allowed Sister Sherri to push Bagwell off the top rope, then Booker kicked him in the gut and followed with the Axe Kick to get the shocking victory and end the Males title reign before their first defense.

The camera goes backstage where Gene Okerlund is standing by with Ric Flair, who is preparing for a match with Eddy Guerrero up next.

Gene Okerlund

Ric, many people feel like tonight is a huge match here in WCW. An established veteran like yourself is facing off with one of the fastest rising stars in the world of wrestling, Eddy Guerrero. Eddy has turned many heads in rings all over the world, yet you are overlooking him and focusing instead of proving to Hulk Hogan and Sting that you are better than them and deserve the title of the king of WCW.

Ric Flair

It’s not a title Gene, it’s a god given right! And that’s the right that’s been bestowed on me. I’m wrestling royalty. I’m the top of the mountain here in WCW, not the US Champion Sting or the World Champion Hulk Hogan, it’s me, Ric Flair! Eddy Guerrero was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time a few weeks ago, he took his beating and should have moved on, but he didn’t. He decided to make a fatal mistake, he stood up to the Nature Boy! You know I’m supremely confident in my abilities Gene, and tonight I’m going to go to that ring and handle my business like I always do. But now I’ve heard grumblings that whoever wins this match gets a United States title match at some point against Sting. I don’t want the United States Championship, but I’d love to have the opportunity to show Sting who the real man in WCW is. If I have to take the United States title off of him to get to Hogan and the World Title, so be it.

Winner Gets a United States Championship Match

Eddy Guerrero vs. Ric Flair

The crowd was electrified by this match, the most excited they had been up to his point all night by far. They chanted for Eddy Guerrero, answering the questions if the fans could really get behind him in this one. Flair didn’t look phased at all by this as he’s used to not being the most liked guy in the room. This bout had everything you need for a good one, the crowd was hot, and the wrestlers were world class at what they do. The match itself started out slowly, each man feeling the other out, not wanting to be the first to make a crucial mistake that would cost him the match early on. Guerrero would look to hit an explosive move every once in a while, but backed off when Flair showed that he was ready to counter one of these and turn the match to his favor.

The fans had started to calm back down, and Guerrero knew this would cause his advantage to be lost, so he turned it up a notch. He started hitting higher risk moves on Flair, and the fans came right back to life and loved the look on Flair’s face as Guerrero was out pacing him in this match. The announcers were all over the fact that Guerrero was on the verge of pulling off a huge upset here, but everytime he’d get close to beating Flair the all-time great would do something to escape the situation. The fans were buzzing when Guerrero hit Flair with a brainbuster, then headed up top for the Frog Splash. Flair was able to get his knees up though, and it looked like Guerrero hurt his leg in the process. Flair quickly turned into a shark smelling blood. He went right after the leg and eventually locked in the Figure Four Leglock, ending Guerrero’s bid for the biggest win of his career just short.

After the fans gave Eddy Guerrero a big ovation for his valiant effort the cameras went backstage, where they were in split screen form. On the left side was Hulk Hogan, Jimmy Hart, Sting, Lex Luger and Randy Savage. Hogan and Hart were hyping the Hulkamaniacs up, telling them that tonight was the night they could get their hands on The Taskmaster and get him out of WCW. The team looked very pumped, ready to rip the head off the Dungeon of Doom.

On the other side of the screen The Taskmaster’s monsters were huddled around their leader as he calmly told them that tonight was the night that they will destroy Hulkamania. The Taskmaster told Shark and Meng that their job was to protect him, while The Giant was going straight after Hulk Hogan to get his revenge. They were the complete opposite of the Hulkamaniacs as they were calm as can be as The Taskmaster calmly explained himself. It’ll be interesting to see which style pays off in the end.

The War Games Match

The Hulkamaniacs (Hogan, Sting, Luger, Savage) w/ Jimmy Hart vs. The Dungeon of Doom (Taskmaster, Giant, Meng, Shark)

In this match two men started in the double cage, and a coin flip will determine who the third man in the cage is, which will give one team a 1 man advantage every time a new man enters the match until all eight men are in the cage. The winner will be decided by only submission, no pinfalls or DQ’s. A stipulation was added that if the Hulkamaniacs win then Hulk Hogan gets The Taskmaster alone in the cage, if the Dungeon of Doom wins then The Giant gets Hogan alone in the cage.

The match started with Randy Savage and Meng in the ring, and Meng looked very impressive as he attacked Savage with brutal force. Savage eventually started fighting back, realizing that he wasn’t going to be able to match Meng’s power. As the clock ran down the coin toss happened, and the Dungeon of Doom won, and Shark stormed into the ring. The two on one advantage was too much for Savage to over come, so he tried avoiding the two, but they cornered him and started hammering away. Things were looking like they were bleak for Savage when the buzzer rang again, and in came Lex Luger. Luger quickly matched off with Meng, and the duo started traded some high powered offense. This left Savage and Shark together, and Macho Man made Shark look silly as he dodged his offense and planted some of his own. This advantage was wiped away though as The Taskmaster entered the match. He snuck up behind Savage and low blowed him, allowing Shark to go to town on Savage. Taskmaster stayed out of the action as much as he could, and the buzzer went off again as Sting entered the match. Sting chased Taskmaster around the ring, but he was cut off by Shark, and Sting and Shark squared off, and the fresher Sting was able to get the upper hand and continue his pursuit of Taskmaster. The leader of the Dungeon of Doom was saved by the entrance of the final member of his team, The Giant. The Giant went straight at Sting and took him out, followed by Savage and then Lex Luger. Things looked very bad for the Hulkamaniacs when the final buzzer went off and Hulk Hogan entered the match as the final entrant.

Hogan wasn’t wasting any time as he went straight after the man who just laid out his team, the man looking to avenge his father’s death, The Giant. As the two stood toe to toe Shark and Meng decided to get involved, but The Giant shoved them off as he wanted Hogan for himself. The fans were in awe at the size of The Giant, and Hogan went right after him by throwing his signature right hands. Giant had never been hit like this and was staggered, but not knocked off his feet. He finally blocked one of Hogan’s punches and headbutted him straight down to the mat. He forced Hogan up and was going for a neck wrench, but Sting, Luger and Savage came to Hogan’s rescue. They went right after Giant, and with this Taskmaster ordered his men to intervene. This broke down into a big 3 on 3 melee as Taskmaster yelled instructions as Hogan worked his way back up to his feet. He got up and looked very angry, and Taskmaster had no clue he was behind him. He got Taskmaster into the second ring alone and hit the big boot, then locked him in a Camel Clutch. After a short struggle Taskmaster submitted, ending this match as the other six men still battled on in the other ring.

Winners: The Hulkamaniacs

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the match, by rule Hulk Hogan was given time alone in the cage with The Taskmaster. The Dungeon of Doom wasn’t going to let this happen, but members of The Hulkamaniacs starting brawling with them and it spilled out of the ring, at which point Jimmy Hart jumped up into the ring and shut the door behind him, leaving only Hart, Hogan and Taskmaster in the cage. Hogan got a huge smile on his face as Taskmaster looked like a defeated man. Hogan walked over to him and started unloading right hands on Taskmaster as he flopped around like a fish. He then bodyslammed him in the middle of the ring as the brawl outside the ring had been resolved with the Dungeon of Doom retreating towards the back. As Hogan went and hit Taskmaster with the Leg Drop Jimmy Hart opened the cage and let Luger into it as Sting and Savage applauded but headed to the back.

As Taskmaster lay incapacitated in the middle of the ring Lex Luger came over and laughed over his fallen body, then walked to Hulk Hogan and extended his hand, looking to bury the hatchet the two may have had as Luger reentered the company this month. They shook hands and hugged, much to the fans delight, but then the unthinkable happened. Jimmy Hart came up behind Hogan and nailed him with a low blow. Hogan looked shocked as he dropped to his knees, then Luger smiled and hoisted him up into the Torture Rack. He wrenched as hard as he could as Hogan screamed out in pain before Luger threw him back down to the mat. The pay-per-view went off the air as fans booed heavily and Jimmy Hart held Luger’s hand high in the air for all to see. Hogan had been betrayed.

Great show all round. As a bit of a closet nasty's fan, was great to see them win, hopefully a feud with Harlem Heat is just around the corner.

Glad to see DDP become the new TV champ. Anybody is better than renegade I suppose!

The Flair promo sounded very Flair-like, which is always a good time, and the prospect of Flair vs Sting down the line speaks for itself.

Whilst never the biggest Luger fan, a feud with Hogan could be brilliant if played correctly.

I love how this show blew off about as much as it set up, you've already got the ball rolling on some potentially great new fueds, and I know you will deliver on them.

I like how your WarGames match turned out, excellent way to (I think) shift the focus from Hogan vs. The Dungeon to a new and interesting Hogan vs. Luger feud, which could definately be a money maker. Great ending.

Fresh off of the shocking betrayal of Hulk Hogan by Lex Luger Monday Nitro comes to you live from Ohio this week. Word around the locker room is that Hulk Hogan is happy that his team defeated the Dungeon of Doom last night, but he couldn't celebrate the victory as he was attacked from behind by Lex Luger and his friend Jimmy Hart turned on him. Hogan promises to address what went down Sunday when Nitro comes on the air tonight.

The main event of the evening will see the United States Championship up for grabs as Sting defends the title against Meng. Sting was part of the winning team at War Games on Sunday, while Meng was part of the losers. Who knows what will become of the Dungeon of Doom now, so Meng could be going solo. But if his friends from the Taskmaster's stable of monsters are in his corner, Sting could be in trouble.

Another man who was in the War Games match will be in action as Macho Man Randy Savage will face off with a man who was victorious at the pay-per-view in his match, Flyin' Brian. These two men have very similar styles, they will do anything to put their opponent on the mat for the three count. It will be interesting to see these two generations of exciting athletes meet in the middle of the ring. Will Brian's youthful energy get him through, or will Macho Man's experience give him the edge?

There will also be tag team action as old friends Ric Flair and Arn Anderson will team up to take on two men looking to avenge losses from last night, Eddy Guerrero and Chris Benoit. These two make a very exciting team, but do they have what it takes to beat the cunning Flair and Anderson. Also, Flair has been granted a United States Championship match in the future, so you know he'll be watching the Sting vs. Meng title match in the main event.

Quick Picks

United States Championship: Sting © vs. Meng

Randy Savage vs. Flyin' Brian

Chris Benoit and Eddy Guerrero vs. Ric Flair and Arn Anderson

seeing Luger punk out Hogan at the end made it worthwhile I guess having to watch hulk's team win. Wanted Sullivan to pull out his spike and stick it in Hogan's eye - but we know that can't happen. Kevin will regroup and maybe set up a nice midlevel feud.

WCW Monday Nitro

Monday, September Week 4, 1995

Live the Ervin J. Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio

Attendance: 10,000 (Sellout)

Tonight’s Monday Nitro starts off with World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan making his way down to the ring alone. He was alone because his longtime friend and manager Jimmy Hart stabbed him in the back 24 hours ago at Fall Brawl when he gave Lex Luger the opportunity to stab Hogan in the back and send a very strong message to the World Champion. Hogan doesn’t look like a man who defeated the Dungeon of Doom the night before, it was clear the whole Luger ordeal was dominating his thoughts.

Hulk Hogan

Well what can I say? Lex Luger pulled the wool over my eyes just like he did everyone else. When he first came back I had questions about where his loyalties lied, but everybody convinced me that Lex was one of the good guys. How wrong everybody was about you Lex. You wanted my attention, congratulations, you have it now. So why don’t you and my old friend Jimmy Hart come on out here Lex and we’ll settle this like men, face to face!

With that Lex Luger and his new manager, Jimmy Hart make their way half way down the ramp, but when they see Hulk Hogan is ready to get revenge for last night Hart stops Luger, then Lex starts to explain himself.

Lex Luger

Everybody has been asking me, why Lex why. I’m getting tired of telling everyone that it’s none of their damn business, but Hulk, I think you deserve an explanation. And that explanation is what you have around your waist right now. I didn’t come back to WCW to be on Hogan’s freedom fighters like a good Hulkamaniac. I came back to WCW to prove that I am the best professional wrestler in the world today, and I can only do that one way, by taking that championship off your waist. I used some of my huge signing bonus to purchase Jimmy’s contract, and there’s nothing he wants more than to see me take that title from you. That’s why right now I’m formally challenging you to a World Championship match, tonight!

As soon as Luger made his challenge a very distinctive voice broke up this two-way conversation with some information to add of his own.

The Taskmaster

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Easy killer. You’ll get your championship match, I guarantee you that. Loved what you did with Hulk there last night by the way. But Hogan, you know you want to get your hands on me one-on-one. You want to beat me so bad you can taste it. My Dungeon of Doom didn’t get the job done before, so I’ve set them off on their own, you don’t have to worry about them, you have my word. I’ll keep my young Giant around to give him a guiding hand in his career, but that’s it. If I’m going to destroy Hulkamania, it’s going to be on my own. That’s why I’m challenging you to a title match as well, next week on Nitro!

Hulk Hogan

I’ll tell you what, I’d love to beat the tar out of both of you, and that’s what I intend on doing. Here’s how it’s going to go down dudes. Next week I’ll put my World Title on the line against The Taskmaster. Then when I destroy him just like I did last night, I want a piece of you at Halloween Havoc Luger! You are going to pay for that sneak attack last night. What are both of you gonna do when Hulk Hogan and all the Hulkamaniacs run wild on you?!?!?

Chris Benoit and Eddy Guerrero vs. Ric Flair and Arn Anderson

Last night Ric Flair and Eddy Guerrero put on an outstanding match which saw The Nature Boy barely pull out the win, and the action picked right back up as Guerrero wanted to show that last night wasn’t a mirage, he can compete on Flair’s level. This time Arn Anderson was involved though, and every chance Flair and Anderson got they got cheap shots in. Chris Benoit also cam out on the short end of his match the night before, and history repeated himself in this one as he was forced to submit to a Ric Flair Figure Four Leglock after Anderson hit him with a huge spinebuster and then blindsided Guerrero off the apron.

Winners: Ric Flair and Arn Anderson

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After this match ended a graphic played on the screen that let the fans know that tonight’s main event will be for gold as United States Champion Sting puts his gold up on the line against a former member of the now disbanded Dungeon of Doom, Meng.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Nitro came back on the air Ric Flair was standing backstage, looking irate even though he just got another victory on national television.

Ric Flair

This is a travesty! Ric Flair in the opening match of the night against two curtain jerkers like those two! It’s become obvious to me, if you want to do anything here in WCW you have to be either in the boss’s back pocket or hold some championship gold. Well I’m stepping my game up and am coming after some gold, then maybe WCW management will have no other choice but to feature me as the main attraction on their shows. God knows the fans already see me that way, but they keep putting me in matches where I’m down the card. I’ve had enough of it! I earned a United States Championship match with my win at Fall Brawl. I’m cashing it in at Halloween Havoc. I don’t care if it’s Sting, Meng, Ping, Ring, Zing or Bing! I’m walking out United States Champion, then WCW will have to give me attention, then I’m coming back to get my World Heavyweight Championship, and that’s just the way it is! Wooooo!

Randy Savage vs. Flyin’ Brian

This match looked like it would be very exciting on paper, but the fans had no clue how exciting things would get by the time this one was over. Brian and Savage took several huge risks throughout the match, that was a surprise to no one. The excitement got turned up when the action went to the outside and a fan jumped the rail and tackled Brian and started unloading rights on him. Security came and drug the fan out as the camera’s wouldn’t show the fan, not wanting to give him publicity for his stunt, but Brian looked stunned and yelled at the fan, “What are you doing here? Get him out of here!” Savage took advantage of this distraction and got Brian into the ring and bodyslammed him, then dropped the Flying Elbow Drop to finish off this exciting bout.

Winner: Randy Savage

Time: 9:22

Rating: 81

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the match Randy Savage celebrated as the announcers reminded the fans never to jump the barricade, and this man likely has assault charges coming to him for attacking Brian the way that he did. Just then they got really excited as they saw The Giant had entered the ring and was standing behind Savage. Giant got him around the neck and gave Savage a move he’s experienced already earlier in the month, The Chokeslam. The Giant stood over Savage, looking very focused on avenging the loss he took in the War Games match last night.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Nitro comes back the announcer’s recap what’s happened over this action-packed hour of wrestling, then show the video of the ending of Fall Brawl last night where Lex Luger stabbed Hulk Hogan in the back by locking him in the Torture Rack. The announcers then hype up Hogan’s World Title defense against The Taskmaster last week, and then that one of these men will likely face Lex Luger for the title at Halloween Havoc.

United States Championship Match

Sting © vs. Meng

Meng is one of the meanest men on the WCW roster, but he was lacking the direction of the Dungeon of Doom, which actually could be a bad thing for Sting since he’s a monster on the loose. Meng went after Sting with everything he had early on, but Sting was able to avoid the offense and control most of the start of the match with quick stinging moves on the larger Meng. It only took Meng one slam to get back in it though as his moves pack huge power. The fans pushed Sting back into it, and he responded by hitting multiple Stinger Splashes on Meng, who then stumbled out of the corner and was met with the Scorpion Death Drop by Sting for the successful title defense.

Winner and Still United States Champion: Sting

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the match Sting was celebrating with his championship, when the famous music of Ric Flair played around the arena. Flair got right into the ring and wasted no time getting right into the face of Sting, the man he will face at Halloween Havoc for the United States Championship if Sting is still holding onto the title at that time. Flair has made it known that he only wants the Championship to get to Hulk Hogan and the more prestigious World Heavyweight Championship, but he has tons of motivation to bring everything he has into a United States Championship match. The show goes off the air with these two historic rivals staring nose to nose, not the first time these two men have had a tension filled stare down.

Sorry for the delay the past week, just got moved into a new apartment.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/WCW/WCW_Saturday_Night.jpg

This week's Saturday Night will see two big co-main events heading into the blockbuster World Heavyweight Championship match on next Monday's Nitro. The World Champion Hulk Hogan will be facing a former member of the Dungeon of Doom, Zodiac. The challenger for his title, The Taskmaster will also be in action as he faces "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. With their huge match less than a week away, will both men plow through these road blocks or will they be derailed on their way towards their faceoff?

The World Television Title will be on the line as new champion Diamond Dallas Page will put his belt on the line against Alex Wright. Can Page get his first title defense, or will the young phenom from Germany take the title as his own? The man Page beat for the title, The Renegade will also be in action as he faces off with the completely dominant newcomer to WCW, The Giant.

In other action Flyin' Brian will get another chance after being attacked by a crazed fan Monday night as he will face Jushin Liger in what figures to be a great high flying match. Will Brian be focused on the action after the incident on Monday night or will his mind be elsewhere? There will also be tag team action as former Tag Champions The American Males look to right the ship as they face the rather eclectic team of Paul Orndorff and One Man Gang.

Quick Pick Guide

Hulk Hogan vs. Zodiac

I'm gonna guess for a Zodiac face turn sometime in the future, actually.

Jim Duggan vs. The Taskmaster

Wow. Srsly? This is like the worst double main evented show you can hold :p

TV Championship Match: Diamond Dallas Page © vs. Alex Wright

Don't think DDP will be a transitional champ, at least not to Wright.

The Renegade vs. The Giant

Not a chance......of this being a good match.

The American Males vs. Paul Orndorff and One Man Gang

Though Orndorff and OMG aren't really the worst pairing I've ever seen...

Jushin Liger vs. Flyin' Brian

While I do think Brian will be elsewhere, I think he'll still pick up this win, Liger isn't really on much of a hot streak.

Hulk Hogan vs. Zodiac

Hogan wins... Unless he and the Zodiac combine forces and take over the wrestling world (how depressing would that be)

Jim Duggan vs. The Taskmaster

someone said this match was awful, but I'll take Duggan from 1985 mid-south and Sullivan from 1982 Florida and this would be gold... unfortunately its the nineties, so maybe he's right....Duggan wins

TV Championship Match: Diamond Dallas Page © vs. Alex Wright

Wright is the perennial, try and build guy into a credible threat, but he never has enough to get over that hump

The Renegade vs. The Giant

squash.

The American Males vs. Paul Orndorff and One Man Gang

the Males have the team name and Orndorff and gang are past their prime... But I just cant bring myself to pick a team with Bagwell over orndorff & Gang .... (Picking with my heart here, not my brain)

Brian is the mainstay...

WCW Saturday Night

Saturday, September Week 4, 1995

Taped at Brown County Memorial Arena in Green Bay, Wisconsin

Attendance: 2,000 (Sellout)

WCW Saturday Night starts off with Eric Bischoff standing in the middle of the ring. Normally Bischoff is an announcer for WCW events, but he has been known to relay information from the higher ups in WCW regarding match announcements and big decisions. Tonight he has the announcement of the night’s duel main events.

Eric Bischoff

I’d like to welcome everybody here in Green Bay to Saturday Night. Usually on this program you would see the up and coming talent of WCW working to get breaks, but with the big World Heavyweight Championship match coming up on Monday the WCW Championship Committee thought they would give the fans a little preview of what they will see on Nitro. In the night’s first main event, the man who will challenge for the World Title, The Taskmaster will face off with Hacksaw Jim Duggan! The other main event of the evening will see a former member of The Taskmaster’s Dungeon of Doom, Zodiac face the World Heavyweight Champion, Hulk Hogan! These two matches promise to give us some insight to the monstrous main event in two days, so we at WCW hope you all enjoy this very special WCW Saturday Night!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/WCW/JushinLiger.jpg VS http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/WCW/BrianPillman.jpg

Jushin Liger vs. Flyin’ Brian

These two men haven’t had the best luck as of late, but they surely have the talent to break out of the pack and become big stars in WCW. Liger showed why’s he’s respected around the world as he hit several jaw dropping moves on Brian, but none of them seemed to put him away. The duo then traded several holds and counter holds that showcased the type of great talent that WCW puts out there every night. The finish came when Liger missed on a Guillotine Legdrop, then Brian headed back up to the top and connected with a Springboard Clothesline to get the victory.

Winner: Flyin’ Brian

Time: 12:18

Match Rating: 53

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the match Brian didn’t seemed to be soaking in the win as he was wearing the same sour expression that he was when he came down to the ring. He quickly grabbed a microphone and was ready to address what happened to him on Nitro Monday night.

Flyin’ Brian

It’s time for things to change for Brian Pillman. That’s right, not Flyin’ Brian, but Brian Pillman. WCW stuck me with this happy go-lucky Flyin’ Brian persona, and that’s just not me. My name is Brian Pillman, and I come out here and win matches for me, not anybody else. From now on I will be known by my real name, and I don’t care what anybody else has to say about it.

Now that that little bit of information is out of the way, I can get to more pressing issues. Namely the fan who jumped the rail Monday night and cost me my match against Randy Savage. This was no regular fan folks. I got a good glimpse at him and let’s just say he’s a little ghost from my past. I’ve received word from WCW that it won’t happen again and not to worry, so we can all put this all behind us and enjoy Brian Pillman dominating WCW wrestlers week in and week out!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The camera goes backstage where Paul Orndorff is walking through the hallways because his tag team match is next. He then runs into his partner for the evening, One Man Gang.

Paul Orndorff

Well Gang, looks like management thinks we’d be a good team for them to feed The American Males so that they can climb back up the ranks. Well Mr. Wonderful doesn’t lay down for anybody, and I know that the One Man Gang doesn’t either. What do you say you and I go out there and show everybody that while we are both talented alone, if we are combined we make an unstoppable force that WCW will not be able to control!

One Man Gang

They are going to be sorry they crossed paths with Mr. Wonderful and the One Man Gang!

The American Males vs. Paul Orndorff and One Man Gang

Orndorff and The Gang make a formidable mix of size and skill, but The American Males have experience as a team that they couldn’t match. One Man Gang pushed them around, but when he got winded and brought in Mr. Wonderful the tide turned as Bagwell and Riggs isolated him and used frequent tags to gain the upper hand. The Males went to finish off the match off, but Orndorff got out of it, then spiked Bagwell with a piledriver. He tagged in One Man Gang as he took Riggs out of commission after the tag. The Gang then got in the ring and sized Bagwell up before leaping and hitting the 747 Splash, giving his team the upset victory.

Winners: Paul Orndorff and One Man Gang

Time: 11:17

Match Rating: 65

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The announcers stated the first of the night’s main events will be coming up next, but as a special surprise Hulk Hogan will be out to do commentary on the upcoming Taskmaster vs. Jim Duggan match.

Tony Schiavone

Welcome to the broadcast position, the World Heavyweight Champion, Hulk Hogan! Champ, you’ll have the best view in the house for this upcoming match, how to you think things will play out in this big match heading into your title defense on Monday night?

Hulk Hogan

Well Tony and Bobby, I think The Taskmaster is going to have his hands full with Jim Duggan tonight. Sure, he’s tough when he has a group of monsters behind him, but he gave them all up and thinks he can take down Hulkamania on his own. He’s in for a rude awakening Monday night on Nitro. Even if he gets past Hacksaw he’s got the beating of his life coming when he faces me for the title.

Jim Duggan vs. The Taskmaster

The Taskmaster hasn’t shown that he can hold his own in the ring, but he reminded everybody he’s a very established wrestler as he grappled like few can as Jim Duggan was puzzled by some of the holds he ended up in. Hacksaw didn’t become an elite level star though for nothing and his power started to shine through as Taskmaster looked like he was starting to get frustrated as Duggan was beginning to power out of his amateur wrestling holds. Duggan took him down with a big powerslam, then set up for the Three Point Stance. Hacksaw then charged at The Taskmaster, but he was waiting and dropped him with a drop toe hold. Taskmaster then charged a downed Duggan and hit the double foot stomp to secure the three count as Hulk Hogan gave Taskmaster his due for beating Hacksaw clean.

Winner: The Taskmaster

World Television Championship Match

Diamond Dallas Page © w/ Diamond Doll vs. Alex Wright

Diamond Dallas won the title at Fall Brawl, and less than a week later he has to defend it for the first time against Alex Wright. Page didn’t seem too happy about this, but Alex Wright didn’t care as he brought his amazing dropkick into action several times in the match. He even had Page set up for his Neckbreaker once, but Page countered out of it. Wright controlled much of the action near the end of the match, then he went to the second rope to hit a move on Page, but DDP was ready and charged him. After a few forearm blows to the head Page grabbed his head and hit the Diamond Cutter off the second rope to get the successful title defense.

Winner and Still Television Champion: Diamond Dallas Page

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the match DDP demanded that the Diamond Doll get him a microphone from ringside, because as usual, he had something to say to anybody who would listen.

Diamond Dallas Page

And that’s why I’m the Television Champion right there! I plan on keeping this Television Championship for a long time too. I’m feeling feisty, and I want to go check out this new Monday Nitro show for myself, so I’ve been given permission to defend my championship on Nitro this week against anybody who will show up. I can’t wait to show all the fans who watch Nitro why I am the fastest rising star in professional wrestling today!

The Renegade vs. The Giant w/ The Taskmaster

The Taskmaster accompanied The Giant out for this match before he goes to commentary for the main event, and he didn’t have to do much as The Giant took control from the opening bell and swatted the former Television Champion around the ring like an annoying fly. Renegade got some separation and dove for a cross body at The Giant, but he caught him like he was a light weight, then slammed him down with a backbreaker. The Giant then signaled for the Chokeslam and delivered on it, driving Renegade straight into the mat for the three count.

Winner: The Giant

Time: 3:34

Match Rating: 63

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the match The Giant went backstage while The Taskmaster stayed out for commentary as he joined Tony and Bobby at ringside. The duo sat silent as he joined them at the booth.

The Taskmaster

What, you guys don’t want to chat me up like you did the golden boy earlier? Come on ask me something? Bah, forget it, you two are useless. Hulk Hogan, I know you are listening back there. Tonight you are facing one of my former monsters, Zodiac. He has left the nest and is out on his own, so I won’t be responsible for what he does to you tonight. I have no doubt that while you might find a way to win like you usually do, he’s going to maim you before our title match on Monday night. When he does I’ll be waiting to pick the bones, and The Taskmaster will have ended Hulkamania and will be your new World Heavyweight Champion! Hahahahaha!

Hulk Hogan vs. Zodiac

The fans were very excited to see the World Heavyweight Champion in action on Saturday Night, but he was given a much harder time that anybody could have expected. Zodiac came out firing like nobody had ever seen him before, almost like he knew every move that Hogan was going to attempt on him. The Champion was on the ropes several times, but used his signature heart and power to get out of any particularly bad situations Zodiac put him into. The worst of these situations was the Zodiac’s patented Sleeper Hold. Hogan raised his hand up to answer the referee’s count, then it was Hulk Up time. Hogan came to and smashed Zodiac around the ring like a wrecking ball. After several big slams he planted him with a big boot, then jumped up and nailed the Legdrop, much to the chagrin of The Taskmaster to get the big victory. Saturday Night went off the air with Hogan holding his title high and yelling at Taskmaster that he couldn’t wait for Monday.

Winner: Hulk Hogan

Time: 14:29

Final Rating: 77

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/shaynes23/WCW/WCW_Monday_Nitro.jpg

This week's Monday Nitro has a flair for the gold. The main event of the evening sees the most important championship in the world today, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, up for grabs as World Champion Hulk Hogan defends his title against The Taskmaster. These two men have been bitter rivals for months as The Taskmaster has tried putting Hulkamania out of commission for a very long time. Taskmaster employed the Dungeon of Doom, but as that didn't work he's trying to take Hogan down by himself. Their whole rivalry comes to a head in this huge title match. Can The Taskmaster take control of WCW, or will Hulkamania run wild for another day.

The man who imerges from this match the World Heavyweight Champion has someone else breathing down their neck. Lex Luger has made it known that he is challenging whoever wins for the title at Halloween Havoc. Luger has been nothing short of dominant since returning to WCW last month. He looks to continue that streak this Monday in his singles match. That won't come easy though as he will be facing a man returning from injury, Road Warrior Hawk. Hawk is sure to return with a renewed agression, so Luger could have his hands full in this one.

Two high profile wrestlers will be facing off on Nitro as Randy Savage will battle Arn Anderson. Nobody knows what kind of shape Savage is in though as he was brutally attacked by The Giant after his victory last week. Nobody knows why The Giant chokeslammed Savage in the middle of the ring, but you can bet questions will be answered on Nitro. Arn Anderson has also been busy lately as he's been helping long time friend Ric Flair in his pursuits to prove that he is the greatest wrestler in the world.

The World Television Championship will be up for grabs in addition to the World Heavyweight Title on Nitro. Diamond Dallas Page laid down a challenge to anybody who wanted to come to Nitro and wrestle him for his title. Word has come out that Eddy Guerrero has accepted Page's challenge and the two will hook up on Monday night. Rumor is that Page isn't too happy about this as Guerrero has looked very impressive in recent weeks. Is Page's title reign already winding down?

The only action won't be in the ring on Nitro. A special area has been set up and the media has been given clearance to come to a special contract signing for Sting and Ric Flair's match for the United States Championship at Halloween Havoc. Both men will be on hand to sign the contract along with members of the WCW Championship Committee. Knowing Flair's recent temperament and his history with Sting, you have to wonder if it's going to be a simple signing. WCW will have cameras on hand in case anything happens, and with these two, you know it's a real possibility.

Quick Picks

World Heavyweight Championship: Hulk Hogan © vs. The Taskmaster

World Television Championship: Diamond Dallas Page © vs. Eddy Guerrero

Randy Savage vs. Arn Anderson

Road Warrior Hawk vs. Lex Luger
